Kimmi yawned and sat up. She glanced around and sniffed the air. She spotted Fillup and remembered she hadn't gone over the map with him. "Oh!" She rifled in the pouch on her belt as she stumbled over to plop in front of him. With a yawn she unfolded the map between them and pulled a pink, blue, and purple sharpie. With a yawn she started pointing out the stores she had mapped in her head. "Pink for food. Blue for cloths. Purple for ammo. I would suggest we replace the bike I wrecked in the first run. There's a shop here that had some." She yawned and pulled a set of keys from her pouch. "There was a truck parked in the back of an alley, keys in the visor, here." She tossed the keys to him. She sat back and waited for any questions.
"I'll scout out the buildings I didn't check last night for surviors but so far there aren't any other pulses in the town but the dude I threw off the building." She smiled at him. "Doesn't mean we can't look though right?"

Fillup nodded "Yeah, but after we clean out this place, we're out on the road again" he popped his gum "Can't stay in one place for to long" he sighed. He looked at the map "How many survivors do you think there are Kim?" He glanced at her "In the whoile world, not just in the U.S." he was silent at the hard question. He spent many a night wondering upon it, and wanted someone elses opinion.

The girl smiled brightly. "Enough to kill off all the dead heads and retake the earth." She said without missing a beat. "Enough to rebuild houses and farms and cities and park." She glanced over her shoulder at the sleeping children. "Enough to make them smile again, with no nightmares." There was an uncharacteristic frown on her face as she watched them. Turning back to him it was quickly replaced with her customary bright smile. "We'll find them. Then we'll all be safe." One of the gunners ruffled her hair as he walked by. "So says little miss sunshine." She smiled at him as he walked away and straightened her hat.

Fillup smiled, he couldn't keep it off of his face "Good to know Kim, but in order to do so, we have to sleep" he popped his gum one last time and pulled it out of his mouth. He yawned and stood "Have a good night Kim, see you in in two hours" he waved and smiled brightly. Grabbing a blanket and finding a rock, he laid down and fell asleep faster than most could have under the conditions.

Kimmi shruged. She wasn't tired anymore so she folded up the map and put it in the lead truck for Fillup. After that she got the supplies for breakfast out and got started on making coffee and oatmeal for everyone.

Kay spotted Khana's shadowy presence leaving the groups campfire. If I remember right she is a little 'cough' trigger happy... Kay thought deciding she'd go ahead and make contact before she spotted the fire. "There's some food here if you want it!" she said loudly, No need to yell in an area this flat...

"I noticed! in fact, I think we all did!" Khana called back, subconsciously stepping over a body. She stopped, turned around and looked back, Huh, looks like she had an exciting little venture she thought, looking around, now seeing a lot more dead-heads strewn across the ground. She went past them and found Kay sitting near a fire, with some kind of meat cooking on it... she breathed in the scent... "Deer meet" she stated after a moment. Khana set her machine gun carefully against a rock and sat down across the fire from Kay, "So, what'cha doin out here by yourself?" she asked "... other then taking out a bunch of dead-heads of course" Khana added with a grin.

"I'm not... use to people." Kay admitted after a slight hesitation. "I've been on my own ever since I can remember... which isn't very long." she let slip out. "Here have something to eat." she said trying to change the subject, getting up she hand Khana a deer steak on a flat piece of bark made into a plate. Heading back to sit on the rock she took out a cigarette and lit it. Taking a pull of her cigarette she studied Khana across the fire.

Khana took in what Kay told her in silence, pondering the meaning of it. She gratefully took the deer steak, but didn't start eating right away. "I've had to survive on my own here and there... but not for a very long. My last band were all contaminated, one by one." she said, purposely ignoring Kay's slip, it was obvious it wasn't something she wanted to talk about, though it did peek Khana's curiosity.
Sadly, Khana remembered the last one. The only member of the band she had liked... he almost made it too... so close. And Khana had shot him in the head, she had had no choice, being in such an enclosed space at the time. They had hidden in a basement when he realized he was contaminated. He begged her to go immediately, but she refused and stayed with him in his last conscious moments... and then to find that the basement had locked itself upon closing...
Khana looked up all of sudden, coming out of her sad memories, and then casually she began to eat.

"It's okay you know." Kay said reading Khana's body language "To morn those who have passed...It's a way we can remember what they were, not what they became after they died or how they died." Must be nice caring for someone that much. Kay took another bite of her deer steak that she had set aside when she had spotted Khana heading her way. Lighting another cigarette, Kay finished her food and checked on the jerky keeping an eye on Khana's reaction to her advice through the fire.

Khana smiled "Of course" she said in oddly cheery tone, though there was only one person she was morning, when it came to her old band anyway. Most of those idiots are going to hell if theres any justice left in this world she thought, though that was a little ironic for her, she didn't know what to believe in anymore, but how could hell be any worse than this? She too finished eating and stood up, grabbing her gun. She turned around and said "Come on, let's go back..." she trailed off, nose crinkling in disgust. More? The the very faint scent of rotting flesh reached her nostrils on a gentle breeze. True, with all the zombie's littering the ground nearby it had already reeked, but for some reason the dead dead-heads and the walking dead-heads smelled a little different. Like the difference between moldy cheese and moldy bread. Distractedly Khana turned to face the direction of the light wind, finger on trigger, eyes searching for any movement. She new the wind carried scents far, and the zombies could still be a bit of a ways off.

Kay suddenly appeared behind Khana putting a hand on her shoulder. "You don't have enough bullets..." she stated. She too had sensed the undead. Not just a small gathering this time, but an army equal to that of the Persians. ((hint, hint 300)) "Go warn the others... they are still a ways of. A couple of mile outside of the other side of the city. Get those who can't fight secure and meet me at the city limits. There will be plenty of fighting in a minute later." she stated to ease the rejection in Khana's eyes of running to warn instead of fight. "Go now!" Without leaving a moment for Khana to stop her, Kay took off for the city.

Kimmi was unlatching one of the bikes. Coffee and Breakfast done she decided to finish scouting the last bits of the city for survivors before the raiding began. She pulled the bike off and cranked the engine. Bublegum didn't like it when she pulled this stunt but she wanted to find any survivors before anything else.
She put the mic on her ear and saw Khana rushing back to camp. She smiled and waved at her as she took off on the bike towards the city.
