Emelyn barely knew what to do- there was an infant in her arms- the others were still all in the woods, holding onto the other infants- and Val and Silver were still unconscious on the ground. She mader her way over to Val, dropping to her knees before the gyspy. The sight of the blood around her made her sick to her stomach, and she held Ais away from the pungent smell.

"Val?" She cried, putting her fingers to her neck, hoping for a pulse. "Val! Please wake up!"

"Marissa!" She recognized the voice coming through the underbrush. "Come quickly- Val and Silver are hurt! I have Aishran! She's safe!"

Val heard the words through a thick, dewy haze. She was walking in a very dark, cold place- towards several pinpricks of light on the horizon. Something drew her towards them- whispered in the endless night that she was headed the right way. At the same time, however, the voices that came through the haze were coming from behind her... towards the dark, and through a world that she almost... remembered. Who was she? Where was she going? And who was that figure... walking in the distance, veiled in greys and blues... it was someone dressed as a... gypsy, and with... green hair. Something told her she should know her name, but nothing was coming to her in this doldrum of a place.

Then she heard two voices- calling to one another, and they caused her to turn her head back where she had come from. As soon as she did, she was pulled to take a step back towards that goal... and then the light overcame her. Everything was bright, and she felt herself fall to her knees...

When she opened her eyes, she was laying curled on the dirt with moistness all over her, and a dark night sky peering back through the treetops.

"Of course I can get Silver, as long as someone takes care of Pierre. But I think we should see if Val can walk herself, now that she's awake."

Silver could barely make out the voices around her, muffled by the pain which had dulled her hearing. She still couldn't see, and was just barely aware of the people close by. She tried to raise her arm, but only succeeded in twitching a finger. She couldn't remember why she was in such agony or where she was, and barely had time to think of her daughter before she relapsed into total unconsciousness. Aisrhan... where...

Aisrhan lay there, in her mother's arms, silent and still. She wasn't hurt, but she was definitely in shock. Her mother wasn't moving. The gypsy woman who was supposed to be their friend had turned on them. Most of all, she was scared to death. Then, a familiar face. Pierre's mom! She let the woman pick her up and hung limply in her arms. She didn't cry, bite, or wriggle to get away, she just sat there, grateful for the woman's presence. Moments later as the others arrived to help her mom and... that woman, Aisrhan finally moved. She clung to Pierre's mom and cried.

Leshya'e reached out and wraped her arms around her innocent child. "Ani?...Is it really you?..." She reached her hand out to touch her face, then grabbed onto one of the nearby gypsies skirts. "She isn't hurt, is she?...tell me she's ok" She began to cry, wishing she could see her beloved daughter.

Anezka whimper and screatched quietly, still in a very scared state from the events of the night. Her little hands raised up and planted themselves on her mothers eyes, smearing her tears down her cheeks.

Leshya'e smiled and stumbled to her feet, holding tight to Anezka. "Yes...please...I need to get back to Varekai...I can't stand to be in an unfamiliar place, especially in my current state...It's too dangerous for all of us." She instinctively hiked Anezka onto her hip and reached her other hand out for someone to grab ahold and guide her.
