"Maybe, maybe not. I haven't decided yet," replied Jacqueline, her voice still soft.

The ocelot rubbed her head against the bigger cat's, her sandpaper tongue brushing against Tami's cheek. She snuggled close, pushing her head against Tami's neck.

[That's true. I didn't think of that ^.^]

ooc;; That's okay, I didn't think of that disappointing fact until half-way through thinking of a good name. XD

Anyways, I'm going to write up my Clouded Leopard's profile. ^_^

((Night night ^^.))

Brindle jumped at the sound of Mahora's voice. She turned, blood falling from her open jaws. Suddenly she realized how horrible the scene appeared.
"This isn't what it looks like." She growled over the rain, still shaken and now feeling sick from the taste of the leopard's blood still strong in her mouth.

The rain came upon the outrider choosing just as it had the other cats. Raiden cursed under his breath and got up. The cliffs also contained many shallow caves which the pride used to shelter from situations just like this, but he dared not take the ocelot with him.
"It appears the choosing will continue later on. As should our discussion." He was about to go when something came up behind the smaller cat that made him pause.
A tiger stepped out of the darkness and bowed nervously.
"Calyn still lives." He said, not having the courage to meet the liger's gaze.
"Does she now?" He shot a glance at Azure. "It appears our deal is on, Azure. I will let you dispatch the hunter second in any way you see fit."
With that said his attention turned back to the tiger.
"And what of Tibar?"
"He was..injured in the fight sir."
"Oh dear. I hope you followed the plan in that case."
The tiger said nothing, only smiled, the blood glistening on his lips and teeth.
"Good. Now I suggest you wash and join the others before you are missed." He watched his assassin go, giving an exaggerated sigh.
"It seems Tibar was a disappointment after all..." he looked over his shoulder as he started towards the caves. "Oh never mind, I'm quite sure...Azure, that you won't be."

Konya layed her haed between her paws when Jacqueline left. The cubs around her started to get playfull and were now climbing on her or biting her, she just layed there and smiled at them knowing most were still teething. One of the oldest cubs started to pull on her ear, his fangs hurt her. "Leon stop that." She gently taped him on the nose, making him rear away and sneeze. He laughed and layed down next to her. "Good cub." She licked his head, getting the attention of more cubs that wanted to be cleaned. She smiled at them and started cleaning them again one by one.

(( So where is that 'outrider choosing' and is it still going to happen soon (in rp time)? ))

Thela let Brindle chase the leopard; Mahora was quick to follow, and she didn't want to leave Calyn alone.

"You're hurt," she stated, eyes narrowing on Calyn's injuries. "Come- we must get you back to the den for treatment." It would also get them out of the rain, but Thela did not say that out loud.

The jaguar let out a short series of yips, indicating to Mahora that they were safe. Hopefully they would realize they were going back to the den. Thela started to walk off, making sure Calyn stayed with her.

"Perfect," hissed Azure. "I shall see you at the ceremony, Raiden."

With that, the sleek ocelot disappeared into the rain, crouching low again. He ran quickly and smoothly across the terrain, following the scent of the many cats. Soon, he found Calyn, injured. But with a jaguar. He wouldn't attack just yet.

"I figured it wasn't Brindle. Although I'm beginning to wonder if this was an accident or not," replied Mahora, turning to look at Brindle.

His fluffy mane-like hair was now matted down against his fur, his whole body looking more black than tan now. He lowered his head and sniffed at the body, being careful not to touch it.

((i'm guessing as soon as the rain stops, since it was supposed to be soon when it started.))

Calyn supressed a sigh as she went after the jaguar, hiding a slight limp. She didn't want to go back to the others, didn't want Brindle to see her. She knew she'd been worried, and Calyn had run off anyway, proving her right. And Mahora had wound up hurt because of it. She looked around, debating her chances of outrunning the Thela.

Tami glanced to Bianca and Zephre, hoping her mentor would be able to calm the den-watcher. "Haven't decided yet? Why not?" she asked, looking back down to the cub.

"I don't want to scare the other cubs with my fangs," squeaked Jacqueline.

Her blue eyes left Tami for a moment to look around at the other adults. She could feel Bianca's restlessness, and mewed quietly, little head tilted slightly. She then curled up between Tami's front paw, a habit the ocelot cub had done since birth. Between an adult's front paws made her feel some how safer.

Tami licked the cub's head lighty. "What's up? You're usually more hyperactive." she asked, looking down to the cub. She knew about the habit, having been stuck with the cub between her feet countless times before.

"Everybody's just so sad...and scared. Maybe nervous. It's a bit hard to run around being surrounded by that," mumbled Jacqueline, looking up at Tami.

The cub was much more sensitive to what was happening around her than most cubs. For some reason, she had a habit of sensing emotions, and it usually did effect her personality. Jacqueline rested her tiny head on her paws, watching Zephre and Bianca.

Tami nodded, she understood. "It's just cause everything that's going on... The Choosing and Kurros and Serria... Just, everyone's tense and worried about what'll happen next." she said softly, starting to clean the cub. She remembered that as a cub it'd always soothed her, the rythmic rasping of a rough tongue against her fur.

"I know," said Jacqueline, in that same soft and almost inaudible voice.

If big cats could purr, she'd be purring like crazy. She closed her eyes, her tiny body relaxing completely. Her satin ears were still pricked and alert, but that was it. Her breathing slowed to a relaxed, even pattern.

Tami smiled faintly as she felt the cub relax, continuing to clean her. She knew she was probably stealing the den-watcher's job, but she doubted the minded. They had all the others to deal with.

"Thank you Tami." The relief in the lion's voice was evident as his young apprentice re-appeared. The rain was coming down in full force and he wrinkled his nose at it, remaining silent for a long while. He listened idly to Tami's conversation with the little Jaqueline, although he made sure to stay away from her, knowing the cub's discomfort around males.
"And you say you're not good with cubs." He chuckled softly to the young leopard.

Brindle suddenly shook herself to hide her shiver.
"We need to report this to the other outriders. He wasn't under my command and he was certainly not a den-watcher."
With that she turned back the way she had come, making her way steadily to the other cats. When she pushed through the grass she found Thela along with her second.
"Thela, go with Mahora and gather some of the outriders here. There has been a murder and we need the victim identified."
She did her best to hide the shock she still felt. She had killed many a time, but prey animals, dumb beasts...it was quite different to see one of her own slain.
"Calyn." Her voice was severe at first, but softened quickly. "Are you hurt?" There was no sense in patronizing her second. She was safe and that was what mattered.

"Nothing bad. Just a couple scratches." Calyn said, keeping herself calm. She'd expected a reprimand, and still was. It was fairly obvious, she was tense and wary, cautious. And lying about the injuries. The bite wasn't, but the claw across her torso and leg... All she knew is that it hurt a hell of a lot and was still bleeding.
