Behind Anyel stands the man from the night before. In the morning light his eyes and hair glow golden.

Anyel recognizes him immediately, even when he's not sopping wet. Hoping the recognition doesn't show on his face, he attempts to play dumb. "Did you need something?"

"I just wanted to buy you lunch," the man smiles, "And you can see the boy you saved."

Anyel was not expecting that. Momentarily taken aback, he studies the man suspiciously. "What do you really want?"

"I want to rid the world of suffering," he replies, "but for now I will settle for buying you lunch."

Anyel, surprised at such an honest answer, finds himself agreeing. "...All right."

The other man smiles. "This way then," he says, gesturing. As they walk he says "My name is Kite."

Anyel continually peers from under the hood of his cloak at Kite as they walk. Still a little wary, he answers: "Anyel. Nice to meet you," he adds automatically, then looks away.

Close-up and in the day-light, Kite's feature's are fine and unblemished. He seems soft- or frail- like a man who has never seen hardship. His golden-brown hair is streaked with red, like a sunrise, and a touch unruly, flowing around his face and just past his ears. His smile broadens and he says, "Nice to meet you as well."
He leads Anyel to an inn marked with the head of a great boar. Inside he takes a table and a hefty woman bustles over to take their orders. "Your friend is awake," she says.
"Fantastic," Kite smiles, "Can you see if he feels well enough to come down and join us?"
"Of course," she replies and leaves in much the same fashion as she came.
Kite turns his attention back to Anyel. "It was brave of you to rescue the boy from the vine," he says, "not many men are of such a caliber."

Anyel isn't very fond of the prospect of another joining them, no matter who it is, but he remains silent.
He no longer bothers to deny Kite's words. "Truly, there was not much I could do myself. That sort of vine is very tenacious. But who would not try to save another, if it were in their power to do so?"

Kite seems pleased, almost laughing as he speaks, "Indeed. You are a good man. And you managed to drive it off. I could do naught but watch from the dock. My gifts lie in healing, not martial prowess."

Anyel frowns slightly. "It was only driven off with the help of a," he searches for the right description, "a noble creature. Anyway," he hurries on, "healing is the most important gift there is."

"I'm glad to hear you say so," he says with a smile, "but there is something to be said for the ability to protect those weaker than you. But this noble creature. It will be hard to find in the wide ocean and so you will have to accept my thanks on it's behalf."

Anyel inclines his head. "Healing is protection in its own way." Unable to find anything to argue against in this declaration of thanks, Anyel gives up and nods. "On its behalf, then." He glances downward and seems to be intent on studying the table.

"Much interested in fine furniture?" Kite laughs, sweeping a hand over the table's surface.
