The Lady Shinigami Vice Captain

Bright blue eyes twinkled with a certain delight, the corners of her lips giddily remained in her small but cheerful smile. Watching the display with a sort of curiosity as she hovered there, seemingly not noticing that her surroundings were clearing up until of course there was nothing out of the ordinary besides the man himself offering his services.
It was nearly as though she hadn't heard the question at all. Her giggle danced mirthfully in the air as she dipped her head respectfully, in an agreeing sort of fashion and faded from view entirely. But that wasn't the only thing that was gone, so was the naginata, the souls and the golden bubble of protection that had once protected the Shinigami Master.
Apparently she was gone.
~~~
Meanwhile in the bar, a black snake curled it's way up and around the leg of a bar stool and around a woman's boot, to sneak under the hem of her shirt and remain then hidden from view.
A tug at rouged lips drew a small smirk of amusement upon the lady's features.
"Bar keep, another Black Russian if you please."
Guyy watched with amusement and curiosity as the Count sheathed his blade and accepted the gift from the beautiful reaper. His scarlet eyes danced behind shaded lenses as he caught sight of the massive snake superimposed over his figure that tore the offered soul into shreds and devoured it. Snake? Almost... so many heads, Guyy recognised it more as a Hydra of sorts. Fascinating. He wasn't the only one to notice however, as on his arm what appeared to be no more than a black tattoo of a snake wound around his arm shifted. A part of large rubies moved over his wrist to observe the other servant. Guyy reached down and ran a finger behind the tattoo-like snake's head. "Easy Myurr. We may have a new snake to deal with." He murmured to himself. The snake looked up at him. "No, you're right. Not as pretty as Yaone." He nodded in agreement to some silent conversation between the pair of them, a smirk on his lips.
Myurr was rather fond of the weapon, it seemed. But then that was understandable. There were very few females as much like him in the world.
The area around them grew duller as the Count recovered what was left of his attack. Soon the area was clear of the lightening. Guyy slipped his shades off and back into his top pocket of his shirt, glancing around at the chaos around them. He felt her slip away, back to whatever she was actually doing. Not that anyone would have realised she was doing otherwise. The protective bubble was of course gone with her. Guyy made a soft noise in his throat in a sort of acknowledgement of her protective nature towards him. It brought a smile to his face. None knew better than she did just how mortal he was in comparison to many magic users.
"I welcome compromise. And I am quite authorised to make decisions and deals on her behalf, especially when it comes to family." He smirked. Truth be told she was the one that looked to him for final decisions usually. "So, where does this put us? Clearly we are not enemies. I have no quibble with you and now that you have the soul of that... creature, it seems you are satisfied as well. I wonder, might you have heard tales of a group known as the Shinigami Clan?" He asked curiously.
In the bar, sitting not far from Kaori, Jack pressed close to Raven nervously. He was busy distracting the children, after hearing about what was going on outside. He had them using beer coasters to build a small house of cards, though he knew that wouldn't keep them occupied for long. Young girls only had so much patience after the houses of cards fell over several times and before long they'd be looking for different entertainment. As long as they were kept away from the doors and windows.
He glanced to the windows now and then himself, worried about what might be going on. There had been a lot of noise, and bright lights (it had been extra hard to keep the kids corralled then, but he'd finally managed to convince them that they'd just hurt their eyes looking outside) and now there seemed to be silence and stillness. He did noticed Yaone slipping in and returning to her mistress though. So she was keeping an eye on things as well. That was very reassuring. Silently he reached up to slip his small hand into Raven's strong hand, giving it a light squeeze as the house of cards toppled again. Things would be okay.
The redhead was among the few who hadn't scurried away when the fight broke out. He'd watched for a short while before returning his attention to his original goal. Most of the group had gone into the bar. And that which he sought went there too.
He took a seat a table near the bar, watching another redhead trying to entertain the kids. One of them had it, he was sure. The lady reappearing in the bar got a look a look from the kitsune, and he got up from his table and took a seat next to her. "Shinigami-san. I believe my brothers and I have business to discuss with your clan." There was a definite accent to his friendly voice.
Pulling a small four inch baton from his belt, the cleric gave it a little snap of the wrist extending it out into a black steel cane that he placed in front of him, placing his left hand over his right.
"I have heard some things that have peaked my interest. A small group of Death worshippers some say. Others speak of you as a bane of all existence, trying to be masters of this world which will hold no master. My own opinion matters little in this affair though as I see something in it for myself and you lady has obviously found a purpose in this mere Count."
He said with a soft chuckle in his voice. For a moment, he pondered on what story about this crew was more truthful if any.... not that Truth, Justice and the Gaian Way had any interest in a low-down scoundrel cleric such as Count Zantara. For the moment, this was business plain and simple. Perhaps later it might become something more, but for now he was interested in keeping things simple.
"Shall we walk as we talk then? I find that after such a heavy meal, such things do wonders for the digestion of Creole."
A little pun there. Ha ha ha. Motioning with his right hand for Guyy to lead, the Count looked up as the sirens finally began to howl in the distance. Barton police might be some of the worst in the world and highly corrupt, but even they had to show up to a massacre such as this one.
Her fingers had barely felt the cold of the glass against her finger tips when a male voice spoke softly compared to the buzz of the crowd, the dark liquid passed between her lips for a moment before the glass was put down and she looked to her neighbour.
"Go on." she encouraged the red headed kitsune simply, if here wasn't a good place to discuss such things, or if he was uncomfortable with the atmosphere, they'd end up moving somewhere a little more private perhaps. Otherwise if all was relatively fine with him, she'd find out in about two seconds what this business was about. Meanwhile she indulged once more in the sweet drink and licked her lips.
~~
While one hand was captured by Jack's the other was holding a coaster very carefully, in order to balance it perfectly, to lay it down hopefully without making the house of coasters fall. Aqua orbs were concentrating intently on it.... but he gently squeezed that hand that had his in encouragement. He wasn't too worried, things were most likely just fine. The coaster was placed. "There! ha! your turn Ilia. Beat that." he grinned and took a swig of coffee over his eggs and bacon breakfast.
He watched quietly as she sipped at her drink, then glanced around the room once. It would not do to let another member of the clan creep up behind him while he spoke with the lady. He had no intentions of using force in this encounter, there were far better ways of getting what they wanted. "My name is Akane. And one of your clan found something my brother lost. We need it back. We have no desire to fight your clan, Shinigami-san."
Had Akane been aware of the trigger of the conflict outside, the similarities would have amused him. Pity he was going to miss out on the joke.
"Hn." a twitch of her lips indicated a hidden smirk, she was amused. Not for the fact that Akane was trying to retrieve something, but for the fact they didn't want to fight the clan. Their reputation as a formidable lot seemed to be growing.
"What is it you seek?" she replied easily finishing off her drink and casting a momentary glance around the bar for his mentioned brother. "And why does your brother not seek what he has lost, but sends you to find it for him?" And now her curiosity was beginning to become piqued.
He reached into his jeans pocket, and pulled out a small pearl. Aside from the kanji for red engraved in it, it looked completed normal. He held it up for Kaori to see for a moment, then tucked it away in his pocket again. "Something like that. I believe one of your younger members has it."
He simply grinned at her second question. "We've all been looking. I happen to be the lucky one who found it." And oh, how Aoiro would never hear the end of it, too.
Guyy watched patiently as the man extended a cane and leaned on it. He wondered if it was for show or if the recent activity he had called on had tired him. He knew that such uses of energy often had a price on the users. Something he knew all too well personally how exhausting energy use could be, though he only really had one skill that cost him so much personally.
"The Lady often finds purposes that are baffling even to me." Guyy smirked, joking lightly. But he could see what had her interest about him. The man was powerful, and such power was best kept on their side if possible. He ducked his head in a friendly nod and stepped forward when invited. In the distance sirens sounded. He tutted to himself. He hated the hassles of the police. At least the ones safely kept inside the bar would be smart enough to deny all knowledge if questions. Smarter still would be allowing Jack to handle the authorities. He had developed quite a skill for putting them on the wrong track while remaining completely innocent.
He led the pair of them forward, though he paused at the neko's corpse to retrieve his spent money and pick up a few of the undamaged and non-bloodstained trinkets the man would no longer needs. The kids would like them. And there was quite a charming little bracelet he suspected Kaori herself would like. They went in his pockets and he stood up straight. "Perhaps it would be wise to make ourselves scarce for a while. We can walk around and head back to the bar the long way to meet up with the others." He suggested, stepping across the cobbles.
The light squeeze in return was enough to settle the redhead back down. With a sigh he leaned sideways and rested his head on Raven's shoulder, watching intently as he challenged Ilia to better his latest placement. Jack's own breakfast seemed relatively untouched. A little unusual perhaps but he was too preoccupied to eat much. Between minding the kids and wondering what had happened outside the eggs in front of him were slowly going cold.
It was good to see Raven interacting so casually with the girls though. A hint of a smile pulled at his feminine lips. He still wasn't sure with them sometimes, and it appeared he didn't know what to do with Ilia half the time when she came to her uncle Raven for attention and hugs, but times like this made it clear there was a streak of affection in him for the girls. He just needed to practise using it. "We should babysit more." He murmured softly to the blond, his smile widening.
Ilia stared at the tower of cards. She tilted her head and exhaled quietly as she considered it. Raven had placed the coaster well. It would be hard to get much higher. Good thing she had a steady hand, but all would take would be a knock or a breeze. Her features took on the same expression Kaori had when she faced a problem that needed solved. And then she reached over for a pair of cards, lifting her hands to place them in a point above Raven's card. She held her breath, though she didn't need to.
She withdrew her hands and the cards stayed in place. With a wide smile she looked up at Raven smugly. "Another point to Ilia! And the crowd goes wild!" She giggled, raising her hands in triumph.
She stopped and went silent for a couple of moments and lowered her hands solemnly. She looked towards the door and cocked her head as her Mama spoke to a young man. Her attention was elsewhere. "I think someone did something bad. I hear sirens." She sighed. "I wonder if it was daddy."
Emma Jane allowed herself to be ushered into the bar by the pretty red head, looking back over her shoulder with a frown. What was going on? Once inside she found a seat. She pointed out what she wanted to eat and drink (literally) to the waiter and watched the other people interact. Everyone was so chipper and lively. And they were on vacation. Figured something would go amiss.
She glanced around once more before her eyes closed, trying to glimpse what was going on outside of the building. No luck, however, just the vague feel of conflict and danger.
Her drink was delivered and she played with her straw nervously between sips, waiting for the uneasy feeling to pass. Finally her mind settled down, not only because of the resolution outside, but also thanks to the fact she was beginning to acclimate to her environment.
So she just sat there quietly, watching the others and sipping her drink.
"Which of the young do you think has... which variation of such a trinket?" she responded easily, knowing which child to ask for which little stone and what it looked like would make it easier for it to be produced perhaps.
"True. I would hate to ruin my impeccable reputation of staying out of the official sight. Perhaps we need a bit of a diversion."
The cleric said with a soft smile on his pale face as he walked beside of Guyy, leaning slightly on the plain steel cane stopping for a moment as the gentleman gathered up a few items from the neko. Bending down with an audible crack in his hip, the orochi reached into the destroyed chest cavity of the neko with his right hand and pulled out the almost undamaged heart with a tearing of muscle.
Humming quietly a little Tune as he squeezed the blood out of the piece of muscle, the Count smiled slightly as a red mist began to pour from his palm completely filling up the surrounding three blocks in a matter of minutes. Dropping the ashes of the heart onto the ground as the item was destroyed by the spell, he began to walk in the direction that Guyy was heading, his cane tapping on the ground echoing through the odd red mist.
"There... that should keep out the rabble from bothering us. So, dear sir... how about we discuss what your organization is all about and how I might offer my special services to your objectives?"
She giggled as Ilia cheered great move. She brought her hands together with as hardy of a clap as she could. "YAY!" she cheered her friend on. In half cheer, she ran over to a near by table in half cheer and pulled her self up onto it. Placing her tote which was holding Raymond and her new found treasure on the small table top. She smiled watching Ilia and Raven from two tables over.
It was quite peculiar to her, as to why they had quickly all found there way inside. She thought they were going shopping. A smile graced her tiny lips. It did not' upset her however, Being here with everyone together, with her family....
A glimmer of light caught her eye.
Her treasure!
She fumbled about in her tote for a while until her hand grasped what she was looking for. She pulled it out and inspected it. In the light it was pretty, the small round pearl. She kept it out only shortl, not wanting to loose it. She carefully put it back in her tote under Raymond.
Now, what to do.
The kitsune was just about to say that he wasn't sure, but the little girl pulling precisely the thing he was seeking got his attention in a hurry. Akane's attention was practically glued to the little child, until she placed it carefully back into her tote. "That one has it." He casually pointed out Nette.
She'd been shuffled into the bar along with the others by Jack and Raven, and though she'd taken a seat with Emma, it was easy to see Caira was distracted by the fight outside.
It wasn't until she couldn't sense Guyy manipulating the shadows outside anymore that her attention really returned to her surroundings. She glanced up at Emma and blinked a few times. "Sorry. It's just so strange to feel someone else using the shadows like that.
The lady's sapphire glanced from it's corner over to Nette that was tucking the object away in her pocket. "Hn." came the noise in recognition from her throat as she turned to examine her sharp claws, an unspoken threat. Why was it they always wanted something the youngest had? "That is little Princess Nette, and if you make her cry because you've stolen her treasure from her, you'll answer to me in a not so painless way." she responded more to keep the kitsune from pouncing the girl immediately than anything else.
"Find a treasure she'll trade you for it, you may follow us while we shop and tour around and may ride the bus with us, until you figure it out. But pick it from her pocket and try to run and you'll find a big cat with sharp claws heading off your escape lil' fox." she purred softly and glanced over her shoulder at the door, in the distance she could hearing the fuzz and their sirens. If she sensed they'd be coming here she could cast an illusion to hide the children from them at least. "Huh?" the blond's attention turned hesitatingly from the house of coasters for a moment to glance at Jack. He didn't just say....
nah.
Picking up the knife he spread Peanut butter and jam onto a slice of toast, "Parvati's turn now." he smirked at the girl, silently daring her to do just as well. "And no powers, that's cheating." he warned as he chomped into his toast, after all she could probably build the thing on the ceiling or suspended it in the air or might even really turn it into a house for the kids to live and play in or something.
"Breakfast is getting cold Jack..." he mentioned quietly, eying the untouched portions on the plate a brief moment, before turning his eyes back to the ever growing house.
