Evil enters the Elemental wastelands looking a little rushed. She'd just come from her office after receiving a mysterious letter. Her keen nose had picked out who it belonged to right away, but she was baffled trying to figure but what he was going to give her. "Hello?" She calls out, looking around. It had been a long time since she'd last been here, and she felt sorry about that.

From out of the vast, barren wasteland came the figure of Xeion. The captain, who had been missing from his squad along with most of his squad members, had finally shown up after some time. He wore his casual clothes and was carrying with him a bag big enough to fit something special in. Elena and Azumi, his two zanpakuto swords, hung on his left and right waists as they rocked back and forth following Xeion's stride. As always, Xeion brandished his casual smile, but there was something different about him now. While he may have looked the same, the Xeion walking towards Evie-chan was something like a totally different person. He had changed in some ways, but nobody could be certain as to what parts of him had changed.

"It's nice of you to come, Evie-chan," the familar voice greeted his long-time friend whom he had not seen for quite some time. While he himself wanted to greet him and spend a bit of time with her, he had more important things to do. The reason why he came here was all contained in the bag that he had brought with him. As soon as Evie-chan would see it, she would know the reason of their meeting. It may be hard for both him and Evie-chan, but it had to be done. At least, in Xeion's head, that was the thing he constantly repeated to himself. "Haha, you still look as fine as always. How have you been these past few days?"

Evil watched Xeion approach, the hot, dry hair ruffling her black hair. She squinted her eyes then grinned, walking over to him and looking pleased at seeing him again finally. She'd gotten worried about his absence and had been hoping he was all right. Her eyes drifted to the big bag he was carrying. She felt her heart sank when she saw it, hoping her guess about what was inside was wrong. With some difficulty she managed to look back up into his eyes when he spoke, noting his change. She couldn't quite put her finger on what it was...Maybe it was the way he walked or carried himself? For the time being the matter was unimportant, and she summoned back her smile that had disappeared after she saw the bag. It was a little strained, but still there. "Thanks Xeion. I've been good, busy with paperwork and the like, but good. And you...?" She asks, letting the question hang in the air and encompass everything that had changed about him and the purpose of the bag as well.

"Doing good as well, Evie-chan!" Xeion replied cheerfully, putting his bag down in front of her, but his voice toned down a little when he continued what he was saying. "However, Evie-chan, because of that, I've come to give you this."

Xeion smiled at her once again and knelt down to open the bag, revealing Xeion's captain's cloak, finely washed, cleaned, and pressed. It looked as if the article was just made and came fresh from the tailors, not showing any sign of old age considering that it was something passed down from captain to captain through the generations. "Since you were the one who gave this to me, I felt it appropriate to give it back to you as well. I will not be needing it to the place where I'm going," he said and stood up once more. This was about the time he revealed to her what he was planning to do.

"Evie-chan, I am going to betray the Seireitei. I have gotten my memories back and I know what I should do from now on. I just want to give back this symbol of captaincy. If I were to betray the thing I love wearing this, then it would once again bring shame upon the squad and I have no intention of doing that."

Even after Xeion had revealed his plans, he was still smiling. He showed neither remorse nor regret for what he was going to do and that was one thing that Evie-chan would probably recognize -- his utmost trust and honesty to the people he cared about the most. While some may think that it would be stupid to blurt out your plans to someone who might kick your butt for it, but that was Xeion. He had did not want to lie.

Evil closed her eyes for a moment when she saw what was in the bag. She heard a sort of thunder in her ears when he explained what he was going to do. For a moment her heart shattered and crumpled into tiny bits, making her shoulders slump. Her demeanor was otherwise calm, the smile gone from her face. After a few moments of silence while she absorbs this, she opens her eyes. All sorts of emotions are roiling in them; pain, disbelief, sorrow, determination. "Xeion...You must know I can't let you do that." She says softly, gently taking the cloak from him and cradling it like it would break from the slightest touch. Her golden eyes flashed. Despite being Xeion's friend, she wouldn't let the Sereitei be harmed in any way. It was here for a purpose; to keep order for both the spirit world and the human form, and if that was disrupted everything would be thrown into chaos.

"I know, Evie-chan," Xeion replied in a gentle voice, "but it is a necessary step for the greater good. If not for this, then all you know -- we know -- is going to disappear. If it is for protecting that, then I do not mind being labeled as the biggest traitor in the history of the Seireitei."

Xeion leaned in and patted his good friend on her head like a person would to a faithful pet and companion. He knew that by doing so, it would signify that Xeion wanted Evie-chan to accept that he was going to do this and he did not take it against her if he were to do whatever it is she wanted to do. It was her choice and if she wanted to do it, then who was Xeion to stop her? It was like telling the wind to stop blowing or the waters to stop flowing. He did not want to do that nor even think of doing that. She was her own person and he was happy that she was the one of the first few people who got to hear it.

"Give me all you got, throw it is that you have. I can take it -- I can hack it. It's because I'm not only doing this for myself, but for everyone as well. You'll see what I mean soon enough, Evie-chan. Until then -- ," Xeion whispered and covered his friend's eye's and gave Evie-chan a small peck on her forehead before he disappeared via dimensional distortion. Before he did, he left her with his last words.

"Stay safe."

Maikeru had just been meandering around aimlessly throughout the Division 10 grounds when he quite literally stumbled into the transfixing place. The air itself seemed to be alive, hell, the entire AREA seemed to breath a sigh of welcome at once again having a visitor.

He spun around a few times taking in the view, in each direction a different element seemed to take dominance. Water, Fire, Earth and was that...metal? Ohhhh hoho ho BOY! Was this going to be fun!

Maikeru released Vin, and before the mist could finish clearing had already Pulled on the giant collection of steel, iron, and everything else he could imagine in the distance.

After several moments of flying at a breakneck speed with his feet skimming the ground he slowed down and looked around in wonder.

The ground was sheets of metal, seemingly pounded and melted together. Tall spires rose as high as he could see, branching off as if they were trees made of metal rather than wood. The colors, the textures, heck even the ground had a light dusting of metallic sand. Blue Allomantic lines pointed everywh What the heck do you think you are doing? I pointed you here so I could train you, not so you could gawk at the scenery

Maikeru touched the hilt of his released Zanpakutou and smiled. Do I need to join you Vin? He began to focus, looking into, and out of himself to...That is enough of that, if I wished you to be here I would have simply Pulled you...you carry enough steel on you to make it easy. Now find somewhere to sit and relax.

Maikeru Pulled himself up into the sharp and irridescent canopy till he found a suitable place, the "branches" had converged forming a relatively flat, wide, and least sharp platform up in the "trees".

He Pushed and Pulled for a few moments, bending the woven metal strands, cables, and branches into something resembling more of a chair, a chair recessed into the platform but a chair nonetheless.

Maikeru sat in the chair and set Vin in front of him, the blades natural abilities and innate magnetism set it to floating veritcally above the platform, slowly rotating, barely an inch from stabbing into the metals and alloys making up this place of training and meditation.

Are you finished?
Yes, Sensei.
Maikeru thought in minor exasperation.
Good now close your eyes, pick one Allomantic line and focus upon it, tell me what you can of what it tells you.[/i]

Maikeru shrugged and picked a large one that seemed to pulse and stretch constantly. He thought for an instant and answered.

It is big, freaking big, it is both far away and right next to me, and...and what does the pulsing mean?

Vin smiled, damn, he still couldn't figure out how she did such things without a face. That is the Elemental of Metal that rules this place, he controls it utterly, I have long known him as Preservation. Once you are powerful enough I will teach you to communicate with him, and he in turn, if he likes you, will teach you to communicate with the other metallic elemental furies that inhabit existence. Now pick another one.

Maikeru shrugged, picking a new, less interesting line and focused on it.

It is about...ohhhhh three hundred feet away, weighs approximately four tons and is...goddamnit! I can't figure what that last flare at the end is telling me!

There are many things you can learn from the lines, weight, distance, and direction are the easiest. What you are having such a hard time divining is the shape, that takes practice and is what we are here for. Later you will learn to sense if an elemental inhabits it, if it has any special properties, what it is made of, judging speed takes a little practice, and if it has any structural weaknesses, all of these, take time. Now fucus and pick another.

His curiousity finally piqued maikeru picked a smaller, more frail line and began.

It weighs only a few ounces, is about fifty feet below me and is...a very small pebble?

Correct, now again.

Maikeru would be sitting there for a long time, as he is releasing very little reiatsu he wouldn't be hungry for a long while.....

Did I get that one right?

I would have said it was more of a spike instead of a sword but you are learning, again.

So Maikeru picked another...
PostPosted: Mon Jun 14, 2010 10:31 am

Over the past few days Maikeru had been steadily getting more and more accurate on his assumptions about mettallic objects. He could distinguish boulders from cubes, pyramids from spears, spheres from sheets, and trees from dogs. But he was still having an issue with devining the shape of amorphous blobs of metal. Sometimes one would be shaped like a mass of spikes, another would be several wires tangled together, none were the same. Maikeru's ability to visualize things was helping him along but there was something he was missing...

Ahh There! I'm done!

Uhhhhh with what? He thought at the floating blade.

You've been having an issue with random nonsensical 'shapes' so I designed something to help you. Remember when I made you jump off of a tower to learn to Push? Well Preservation and I have constructed a maze made of one complete piece of steel. It will be utter darkness inside and so your only sense for navigating will be to learn the structure and shape of the maze with your own special 'sight'. Now step off the edge of this platform and guide yourself into the opening below you.

Maikeru had never had a fear of the dark before, he'd been a cat burgler, no reason or rhyme to be scared of what saved him. But this? This frightened him for some reason. Shrugging off the feelings of discomfort and fright as best he could he swiped Vin from where she floated and calmly stepped off the edge, plummeting straight down towards the ground. Seeing a hole to the right of him, he nudged a large metallic boulder, adjusting his trajectory to carry him into the hole. Right as he reached to entrance he Pushed hard beneath him slowing his descent, landing as if he was just hopping the last few stairs at the end of a long staircase.

Maikeru looked around or rather tried to there was barely any light...What the F***?!?
He spun in place staring in astonishment at the small cirlce of light that was shrinking, the metals around it flowing to seemlessly cover the hole he had just entered through.

Not getting out that way I guess.

Maikeru touched Vin's hilt, You aren't going to help me are you?
Well, no, not really I didn't plan to, of course if the feral metal elementals get to you I may have to.

Maikeru audibly gulped, Feral elementals you say? How about we avoid them?
Vin shrugged, damn. Someday he'd remember to ask how she did that. If you like it is quite easy, simply learn the layout of the maze and avoid any metallic signatures you sense other then that of the maze and you should be fine.

Maikeru flared his senses, oriented himself to walk down the path instead of into a wall, he could only sense the maze for about a fifty foot radius at the time. Uhhh hey Vin? You know...I can't sense that well yet!!!

Duh. Of course you can't, I decided to put you in this situation so your safety and continued survival depends on you developing this skill. Now be quiet and focus I will not speak to you again until you can sense the entirety of this complex.[/i]

Maikeru felt Vin's presence fade slightly from his mind, she was still there, could still see and hear everything he did, but she just wasn't there in the same way...

As always Maikeru shrugged it off trying to think of a joke and focused on expanding the range at which he could sense the walls of this maze.

Take a left...another left... right... forwards... left... right... right... left... left... backpedal! backpedal! we don't want to run into that!... right... left... right... straight... right... straight... left... left... right... straight...

Every step he took he understood more of the maze, he was slowly piecing together what it looked like, even more amazing was how fast his range was growing, it was at nearly a hundred yards now...and there it was, at one-hundred and growing again. He couldn't beleive it, Vin was right, make it so if he doesn't learn the new ability he dies and Maikeru will learn it faster than could be previously beleived. It was amazing! It was...S***!!!

Maikeru threw himself to the side against the wall as something shot past him.

Maikeru quickly refocused bringing the lines back into his sight, yes, one was pointing ahead of him as he thought. Maikeru focused bringing its shape into his mind along with the maze's layout.

It was large, and shaped vaguely like a gorilla only instead of normal gorrilla things like skin, fur, and muscle. It had several tons of sharp wires covering its shiny(or would be if there was light) hide and thick cables of moving muscle beneath its 'skin'. Oddly enough it had huge eyebrows, it was a curiousity, they were of absolutely no combat worth and there is no way they could be pleasing aesthetically...hunh.

Maikeru calmly waited for it's next move, he thought as it is shaped like a dumb animal, it likely acts like a dumb animal.
He waited as the arm it had extended several yards longer than should have been possible reeled back in. He heard it roar in frustration then pull its fist back for another punch.

The air roared as the fist shot forward, nearly as big as Maikeru on its own, Maikeru sidestepped, Pulling on the wall to speed the process and whipped Vin up and around, into and through the arm, completely severing its hand from the body.

The 'gorilla' froze in surprise, it didn't feel pain, it wasn't that kind of creature, it just couldn't imagine something so small(comparitively) doing so much damage. Before it could recover Maikeru braced himself by Pushing and Pulling on the walls, ceiling and floors, and then PUSHED As hard as he could on the gorilla. It shuddered for a moment and then flew backwards, flailing arm and legs denting the walls. Then it stopped and Maikeru stopped Pushing before he was crushed to death. It had been driven head first into a wall far ahead, all the trauma and surprise it had suffered caused it too lose focus and it could no longer maintain its form. The various metals making it up were slowly melting and pooling into a small puddle. It could take anywhere from several weeks to several hundred years for that fury to regain its form.

Maikeru took a deep breath and slapped Vin to his back before starting off again, he could sense the maze now, it was no trouble after mapping out a metallic fury's body.

That was well done.

Pshh some help you were.

I warned you of it's initial surprise attack did I not?

That was you? Thanks. Maikeru smiled.

Lets see... left... left... right... straight ahead for fifty meters... left... left... left... right... right... left... left... aaaand Right!

Maikeru looked up and Pushed, rising off the ground and into the sunlight once more.

Maikeru kept on Pushing until he reached the platform up in the canopy again.

What are you doing?

Well I figured we would have more training.

You have accomplished much these past few days, take the next few off and recuperate your mental acuity, we will resume, besides, I'm anxious to try this Jello you speak so fondly of.

Maikeru smiled, If that is what you wish sensei.

I'm quite sure I told you to call me Vin...
Yeah, you did but this is just so much more Fun!

Maikeru reached the platform, touched down for an instant, used his new found skill to find the path through the sharp spikes above him. He Pushed and Pulled, zigzaging through the razor sharp points and out of the metallic area, and back home...To his dear, dear, Jello.
PostPosted: Sat Jun 19, 2010 12:34 am

Maikeru alighted onto the platform silently, he was surprised, Vin was surprised, hell, even the silence was surprised that he wasn't talking. But then, of course, he did have a mouthful of cherry flavored Jello, so he did have a good reason for such a change in character.

Maikeru sighed in satisfaction, nothing was better than Jello, nothing. He released Vin, after releasing her so often he was getting the hang of doing it without the big flashy explosion of mist, he still had to use the release phrase and name but he was improving. He sank down to meditate, releasing Vin so she could float calmly just as before.

So I take it you have rested sufficiently?

I sure hope so, I slept for several days and ate several times my own weight in Jello soooo...yeah, yeah I think so.

Good, today, and for the next several days as well, you will be learning to divine. Crap, its gonna be more stuff with the blue lines isn't it?

You will be learning to divine things such as special properties of the object, what metal it is made of, structual weaknesses, and other such things.

...Fine but I'm not going to enjoy this.

Now focus, you have learned to read shape, weight, size, and distance from the lines, learning these next attributes is much more trying.

Maikeru chose what he thought he recognized as the big boulder from his first session with Vin.

...Yeah I can't get anything else out of it.

Look deeper, to learn of structural weaknesses all you need do is focus in the same way you did to learn in shape. Only look deeper, much deeper.

Same way...well it hasn't cracked yet, but there is a spiderweb of cracks running from a point near the base, its...its like the metal didn't bond as well together there, is that where it'll break if I hit hard enough?

Yes, very good, now look again, but I want mroe detail, give me more. Much more.

Maikeru sighed and picked another, damn, but she got annoying sometimes.

Boy I am truly beginning to think you have a problem, you can get the basics, and you understand concept well enough, but the minute details, the important things. You can't figure out, and you most certainly can't learn to do it with speed. Not unless you have a strong chance of dieing from it.

Soooo?

So, I'm going to have Preservation down there lob giant boulders, and spikes, and the ground, and probably a few trees, at you. If you can detect the needed physical traits in each one to break it, cut it, or shatter it, you will survive, if you do not...well you won't.

Kay, you know, I'm just going to say this now, I hate how you make me train, Jesus Christ! It's worse than the first time I met you!

Now drop to the floor so we can get this started!

Maikeru began mumbling about not even Vin knew what as he stepped off the edge. Wind whipped past him as fell and the smell of rust and copper flooded his nose. Right as he neared the ground, headfirst no less, he sneezed from to many metallic dust particles hitting his sinuses. It was timed perfectly, right as an enormous sneeze erupted from his nose he Pushed down and behind, completely halting his fall and bringing him swooping forward and up a few feet to land softly on the 'forest' floor.

The ground started shaking and every source of metal he could sense began vibrating.

What the hell?

Great...you made him laugh with that little stunt of yours.

Oh. I did did I? Well good for me!

You have no idea who I'm talking about do you?

...Remind me?

It's Preservation you dolt, who else could make this place shake like that? Now focus.

Maikeru mumbled.
I'm sorry I couldn't hear you?

Ohhh, nothing, nothign at all.

Good cause you might want to dodge.

Maikeru looked up and saw nothing, he paid attention to the lines...Ohhhh there it is...

Maikeru Pulled, yanking himself to the side.

Maikeru Saw what felt to be a metal spike about erupt from beneath, so he Pushed and rose from the ground.

Stop dodging and break them already!

"Well, I am beginning to see a little of the flaws, and velocity is no trouble, but what am I not getting here?" Maikeru thought to himself, excluding Vin from the conversation.

Maikeru heard a low pitched groaning and turned around, one of the 'trees'was being uprooted, the branches were far to thick to just cut through. It began tumbling end over end picking up speed as it rolled towards Maikeru.

"**** **** **** **** **** **** **** ****" he said drolly.

Maikeru jumped, flipping his body parallell to the ground and began dancing through the branches, Pushing and Pulling in every which direction, staying in the same place in space as the tree flew past him. Every now and then he would manage to find the weak spot in a spiky branch before it smacked into his forehead and he would cut it off with barely a thought.

Maikeru touched back down breathing more heavily then normal and looked around. The ground was littered the 'trimmings' from the 'tree' all that was left in one piece was the trunk, even the majority of the root system had been removed. Apparently the tree had been rotating and reversed direction a few times, Maikeru hadn't noticed and his subconcious had just adjusted for the change.

He sat down on the trunk and smiled smugly.

....Okay, so you did it faster than I thought you would, your reaction and sword play has also improved greatly. And as a last smack in the face you seem to have a natural talent for the next skill I was going to teach you.

Jello?

Yes, go eat your Jello.

Maikeru shot off back to the barracks without a second thought.

It had been a long while since he had returned here, to this elemental wasteland. However it had always been one of his favorite places among the realms. It held the extremes of all weather, and Maikeru loved the extremes. He sat down in the middle of the area, where all the elements clashed and intertwined to form an absolutely balanced section of land. Neither fire, water, wind, earth, wood, or metal held any sway over the others. Of course move a few feet in any direction and that would soon change. He smiled as he slid his katana out of it's sheath and layed it across his lap, his legs crossed underneath him.

What's up Vin?

You finally find time to speak to me again do you?

Hey now It isn't exacly my fault.

And how not?

Well...you see...Ok yeah I got nothin.

I thought so.
....

What was that?

Oh nothing, nothing!

Oh, if you insist. She said drolly.

So, what was so urgent?

You wish to continue your training?

....Yes?

Good, now lay all your knives and daggers upon the ground.

Oooookay...

Maikeru suspiciously began removing his various weapons from his person, laying them carefully on the ground so as not to damage them. He was about half through when she spoke again, Why are you taking so long? Hurry it up.

He mumbled to himself as he finished laying them out. A moment later he had Vin out of her sheath and layed her in the middle of it all, all of them were set in a wheel about him, blades inwards. A few words and a small amount of focus later and Vin was quietly released in front of him. It floated calmly bobbing in the air less than a foot away as the separate Shikai daggers slowly spun around him, tumbling through the air along the confines of the circle he had constructed from the blades.

Good you are learning, now relax and focus, you will soon learn to look another level deeper into the metal, and see the fury and power restrained by it's crystalline structure.

"What do you mean?" Already he had catalouged all of his various blades, marking their attributes, weights, shape, orientations, flaws in their making, anything imaginable.

Do you remember the beast you fought in the labrinthe? That was an Elemental, or a Fury if you prefer. They reside in almost everything. Today we will discover if one makes it's home in one of your blades. Now focus on them one at a time and see if you can discern a difference in any of them, a difference you fail to explain. Then we shall continue.

Whatever... He picked one of the lines and realigned his thoughts, sending his senses into the blade...

Kyo entered the wastelands slowly, his eyes closed so that his stronger senses were at work. His zanpakutou was strapped at his waist, as he strolled through the lightning that rained down around him. This was where his power was at its best. It was here where he could fight while only using a small amount of reiatsu to guide the weather. This place made him feel invincible, though he knew very much he wasn't. he had more strength to find, he knew it.

"Are you enjoying yourself?" Raitenshou spoke as he appeared within Kyo's mind. The tiger cub had grown a bit since Kyo had attained shikai.

"Yes i am, are you not enjoying this?" Kyo asked as he continued to walk.

"This place is peaceful, but we should be training. our power is still weak, it needs improvement." The tiger spoke with a growl.

"I know this. I want to enjoy this a moment before we do what we came here to do." Kyo replied as he came to a stop in the center of the field. He could feel Raitenshou strain at his side, yearning for release.

"I think you are lazy, the value of peace is taken after one is ready for battle, now release me." Raitenshou growled.

"hmph. Very well." Kyo growled as he gripped his zanpakutou's handle with both hands and drew it out in full shikai. The twin swords shaped like lightning bolts hummed in his hands. He could feel the lightning all around him, knew where it would strike and how powerful it would be.

He launched himself into the air and brought his swords up. Lightning rushed from the blades and struck the ground below hi. he aimed his right sword at the ground as lightning struck his left one. the lightning rushed through his body and out of his extended sword to strike the ground. Landing lightly, he grated his swords against each other and fired off a sonic boom the echoed with the sound of the storm.
