Alysia was almost at the backery and when she got there she laughed. She entered and went straight to the back where the girl was standing. She was more confident then one would expect but as she surveyed the place she seemed to take a keen interest in everything around her
"Hey," she said in a perky voice. "I'd like to speak to Atticus. I've been looking for him for so long, you see he's kind of like a little brother..."
She had stopped speaking because Atticus had emerged and she immediately ran to him and wrapped her arms around him.
"It's so nice to see you again," Alysia said with a grin before winking at him.

Dawn smiled kindly, and then noticed Atticus appearing from behind the shop. She was about to say something, but stopped herself. "Alright, well, you too go into the back and catch up or whatnot, I've still got to work." Another customer had entered the store and was windowing shopping as of then. "Welcome our Bakery. May I be of any help?" Dawn asked kindly. The man turned around and examined her for a moment before answering. "No thank you, just window shopping." Dawn nodded and let the male customer be. He looked somewhat of the suspicious type, but it didn't seem to bother Dawn, as he was just looking at several different breads, and then baked goods.

Atticus had immediately grabbed Alysia by the shoulder and escorted her back. He was a bit angry that she had come here but he had to talk to her a bit to sort things out. He knew the spirit would come back and inspect the reason that another reaper was here but it would just take a while before he would actually dare to appear.
"What are you doing here?" Atticus hissed.
"You said someone wanted you out of here in three days so I came, it's easier to take care of someone when there's two of us around in the same locale, besides you need help with your most recent job don't you? It seems you've taken a bit of pity for the girl and the father because of how it connects to Daria," Alysia said.
Atticus flinched slightly before let out a low growl. He hated it when Alysia used that move against him and he was more determined now to prove her wrong. He'd get the job done tonight and then he' just come back and check on Dawn before leaving the country. Of course he would get her telephone number and call her when he was in Germany, the closest thing to where he needed to be. The elders would not be happy with him but if he put someone in danger he couldn't deal with it.
Oh it's poor Atticus that's frightened again... oh you really think he'll run if he has an 'obligation' here... no he'll just get frustrated in Germany and return... after all she did ask him not leave... It was the other reapers in the area and they were openly doing this to him mostly to torment him and he just stared at the table, trying to remain expressionless.

The mysterious male customer had soon left without a word, not buying anything either. Dawn hadn't seen him go though, but she just shrugged and went on with the rest of her day. She kept the shop cleaned, and helped every customer that entered the store. It was a few hours later, closer to 5pm, when she finally decided to close up, due to the lack of customers entering the store. But before she did, she went around to the back with a smile. "I'm sorry to interrupt your conversation, but I'm closing up now, though, if you like, you can stay the night." she was as cheerful as ever, even though it had been a busy and hard day for her. Tomorrow was Sunday and she knew she would have to study. "In any case, you can take my bedroom for the night if you decide to stay the night, I'll just pull out the futon and sleep there." Dawn assured Atticus' friend.
Grey was scratching at her bedroom door again. It looked like she would have to lock him in the washroom, or basement tonight if he annoyed her as well as Atticus.

"Oh trust me," Alysia said. "We'll be gone by morning. You have nothing to worry about."
Atticus half glared at her before standing slightly and slowly approaching Dawn. He wasn't sure how he would state this but being threatened as he was would be a danger to her and he did not want her to get hurt. Alysia had taken her cue after that and left the room in search of a bathroom. She would get ready and the collar around her neck didn't seem to bother her at all. It was a darker color than Atticus', more of a burnt umber while his was more of a topaz color.
"I'm sorry but Alysia needs to take me on something she needs help with," he said with a sigh, hating to lie like this. "I'd like to have your phone number so I can contact you when I get to Germany, to make sure you're safe."
It was painful to lie straight to her face and he wold get tormented for it later. Alysia and he were so connected at this point that occasionally they felt the same feelings and eve more rarely could sense where the other was was without even an image of their location.

Dawn looked at the ground. "Oh..." she said sighing, but she put on a smile and wrote down her number. "I wish you the best of luck then." it wasn't her place to say anything else, but she knew she would miss him, even if they had only spent a few days together. She shivered quietly and went to lock up the store and the house. "Well, I'm going to be busy tomorrow and I was hopping you would watch the store...but since you're leaving and all, I'll just have to keep it closed." At this point Dawn had noticed something she would never want to think about. How would she survive? She needed to go to school, but also to run the shop. there would be no room for studying and eventually she would have to choose. And there was the whole point of being alone again. Her thoughts started to weigh down on her again, and her smile had faded. By this time, she was in deep thought and hadn't realized that Atticus was still there, beside her. Sighing deeply, she pulled out a chair and just let her head fall on top of it. "I'll miss you..." she murmured loud enough for Atticus to hear.

"Thank you," Atticus said as he took the piece of paper. He shoved it in one of his pockets before turning slightly intending to go upstairs. He paused though since he had a feeling he knew that Alysia was planning something and that they actually would be leaving the next day. He swallowed hard when he heard Dawn speak again and forced himself not to react to it. It was a first time that someone would actually miss him.
"Well," he said with a sigh. "I'll see if I can come back."
I told you he'd say that... the little wimp thinks he can't stay away from her very long... ha... already attached to a human and he's only been doing this how long? five hundred years.
He wanted to yell at them but doing that might upset Dawn at the present moment and the important thing was not giving away their presence to that guy, whoever he was. He felt a shiver run down his spine and he left the room to find Alysia once again. She'd been eavesdropping by the dor and she walked with him, making almost no noise up to his room to make sure that he had everything in order.

Dawn was about to go up stairs to find her books and study, when she heard a knock at the front shop door. "Hang on, I'll get it Atticus." Dawn spoke happily moving out of the house. "It'll only take a minute, not even," she promised. She was curious, wondering who it could have possibly be. Making her way to the front of the shop, she looked through the curtains to see the man who was there before. "I'm sorry sir, but the store is closed, please come back tomorrow." she said preparing to close the blinds shut and walk away. The man suddenly said something. "I'm really sorry to disturb you, but I was looking for a cake for my daughter's birthday for tomorrow and I was unable to get to your store in time. I have a receipt for the cake, if you wouldn't mind me picking it up now." Dawn took pity on the man, and with a smile she opened the door and let him in. "Okay, let's see that receipt and I'll get you you're cake." she hadn't remembered to put a cake on hold for anyone today, but her father night have had taken it so she couldn't turn down service until see looked. Dawn left the door open, but the signs were still set to 'Closed'. She managed to get around to the back of the counter and looked in the history of sales. "Odd... there is no record of a cake being put away. Sir, when did you order it?" she asked politely, but simply puzzled.
The man was looking at something on the shelves. "I believe it was on Tuesday. I ordered it especially for today so I could pick it up." He didn't seem to be paying attention to anything that she was really saying, just holding out long enough for...
"I'm sorry, very sorry sir, but there is no record of your purchase anywhere." Dawn sighed ready to give up.
"Hang on, I'll come right over, let me see..." he walked up behind Dawn and looked over her shoulder. "That's not it..." he reached into his long coat pocket and slowly pulled out a pistol. "Isn't that it?" he asked as Dawn looked over another list. Dawn shook her head. "No no, that's not it..." he was trying to keep her busy, then suddenly. "Don't panic, don't do anything... just keep looking." Spoke the man who had now placed the barrel of the gun to Dawn's back.
A cold shuddered ran through her spine as she felt the cold pistol dig into her clothes and felt it on her skin. It was pressed pretty hard into her back, making Dawn want to shuffle and move out of the way. "P-please sir..." she started shaking. "I-if you want a cake I can bake you one now, you only need to ask..."
The man whispered lightly in her ear, "You know just as well as I do, that that's not what I'm after."
"P-please sir, I don't know what you mean." Dawn whispered staring at the register, her mind going completely blank under the pressure. "Please, just let me go..." she pleaded.
"Hush... I'm not going to hurt you... just give me it, and it'll be alright. And also, if you're friends ask if anything is wrong, act normal. You blow my cover, then I'll have to kill you." He was dead serious.
Dawn gulped and then shiver again. She was stuck, he would the pull the trigger if she made any sudden movements, or tried to call for help. She would be murdered just like her father...
From up stairs, Grey was hissing, and scratching at the door, as well as meowing at the top of his lungs.

Atticus had heard something and when he discovered it was the cat he opened the door. Something was wrong and then sense began to ripple through him. His 'sister' hadn't come back from the bathroom and now he was beginning to get worried. He ran down the stairs and began to approach the shop but wasn't sure if Dawn was there. The cat seemed to be intent on going into the shop and he looked perplexed for a moment.
"God dammit Alysia where are you when I need you?" he hissed.
When she appeared behind him he jumped and nearly fell over. She was smiling as usual and approached the door. She cracked it open a bit and then entered. When she saw the thin though she let out a gasp and pulled Atticus to her side. If this person knew about Daria then Atticus would be in a boat load of trouble.
"What is it?" Atticus hissed but when he saw the pair standing in the shop he froze also. Something was familiar about this person and it was beginning to bother him.
Your job is done by the way so if we need to flee we can.

Dawn shivered again. The male pressed th gun deeper into her back. "Get it, now. I'm losing my patience."
"Please, I honestly have no clue what you want..." she was starting to feel really cold right now. "Please...just let me go...I'm so cold..." she was pressing her hands to her arms and rubbed them.
The male narrowed his eyes. "I want it, and I want it now God Damnit! Stop lying." he grabbed Dawn by the hair and pulled it back really hard, not caring who heard it. Dawn let out a scream of pain, which forced tears down her cheeks. "Please!" she kept pleading. "Please...I beg you, just let me go..." the male, growing even more annoyed, threw her to the floor.
Dawn steadily grew colder. The man held the gun out at her, at arm's length. "Last chance. Tell me where it is or I'll kill you."
All of a sudden a man broke into the store and held a gun out at arm's length. "Drop the gun, or I'll shoot." His voice was dead cold, and serious. His deep blue eyes narrowed as he saw poor Dawn on the floor. "Drop the gun, now." He commanded.

Atticus had stepped forward a bit further into the shop when the other man appeared. He could see where Dawn was and now he was determined that he couldn't leave. Alysia was just standing there like she had no clue what was going on but he was sure that she would leave as soon as she could out of fear. The cat had followed him and was hissing lightly.
"Do as the man says," Atticus said raising his arms slightly. "I don't think you want to kill her."
He knew who the guy was that had come in and he'd rather make peace with the person than argue. He hadn't hard anything about Dawn's death recently and he was sure that she wouldn't die and if the guy dared to think about shooting he would most certainly die.
"Who is that?" Alysia whispered lowly as she started to come out but stopped when she saw the guns. "Is that him?"

The man flinched and started spazing out. He grabbed Dawn by the hair and forced her up, now using her as a shield. "If you dare shoot, she'll get caught in the cross fire." Dawn looked at the man, slightly confused, but more out of it then anything.
"I said, drop the gun." the man repeated without a hint of hesitation in his eyes.
The man was trying to keep up his 'tough guy' cover. "Didn't you hear me-"
The figure standing in the doorway and pulled the trigger.
Dawn saw her life flash before her eyes. "I don't want to die!" she yelled suddenly.
The bullet missed Dawn completely and hit the man in the shoulder, dead center, with enough force to make him drop the gun and stagger backwards.
"Y-you b*****d!" The male yelled, grabbing his arm and ran past the stranger in the doorway, and broke through the window. He took down the street, disappearing into the alleyways, and then into the shadows.
Dawn was on the floor again. The stranger with blue eyes walked over to her, putting his gun away and helped her up. "Are you alright?" he asked as she was on her feet again.
"I-I'm alright...just a bit shaken up." She shivered and moved her hand up to her neck as if to make sure that something was there. hen her hand slid down to her side. At this point she nearly collapsed, but she was grateful for what the man did.

"Alysia what did you do?" Atticus snapped when he realized that he wasn't being seen, it was another one of her tricks wasn't it.
"I knew you'd try to stay here so she can't see you now," Alysia said as she stepped forward, the facade gone now but rather a sick grin was across her face. "Haven't you realized what I feel for you?"
Alysia's hands had wrapped around his waist and he struggled to get away from her. He was being pulled back since she was more powerful in this realm, and he was weaker. She'd managed to get him out of the room without him making a sound at first.
"Dawn... please don't forget about me," Atticus yelled loud enough so that she would be able to hear him.
They were gone then, through the barrier and to the real spirit realm. He was gasping for breath when he got there since she'd squeeze him so hard that he couldn't breath after he'd yelled. He was shivering now, shivering so severely that he couldn't move. Why was he allowed to do that for Dawn and he get pushed aside like that?

Dawn heard Atticus' voice. "Atticus? Where did you go..." she looked around the house almost forgetting about the stranger in her house. "Atticus?" she said looking around desperately for him, but there was no sign of him anywhere. She sighed, slumping to the floor. "He's gone... and eh didn't even say goodbye." she murmured at the stranger came up beside her.
"Is everything alright?" he asked with genuine feeling. "Come on, you've had a rough day, I'll make you some tea."
Dawn hadn't really cared that this stranger was in her house, it didn't matter. Atticus had disappeared and he had saved her life. She nodded and pulled herself up and sat down at the table. "May I ask who you are?" she finally said, breaking the silence.
"You can call me Arthur." Said the blue eyed man, reveling his name. "And you are?"
"Dawn Crawford..." she muttered as Arthur placed the mug in front of her.
"Here, drink up, it'll help clam you down." he spoke sitting across from her.

"Why did you take me away like that?" Atticus demanded. "I didn't even get to say good bye. WHY?"
He was pacing now in the garden in front of where the Elders were presently holding a meeting, anger building up so violently inside him that he could attack her. There was something about her hated now, though he'd felt like he couldn't trust her before it had just gotten worse now.
"I brought you back because the same thing would have happened to that girl you found. You would have fallen in love and then she would have been killed just like Daria," Alysia snapped sharply. "How do you think I felt when I had to listen to you babble about Daria for over two centuries.
She was sitting on one of the benches and a few people passing by had paused to listen to her. It was one of those conflicts that everyone hated to be part of so they ended up scurrying away as fast as they could.
"She was nothing like Daria," he snapped. As he'd spoken a figure had appeared by him though it wasn't distinguished. The hand on his shoulder was delicate and cold at the same time. He shivered slightly as he bowed his head, stuck in this cursed state. Here was the only place where the scythe was not chained to him and it did not feel half as heavy as it didn't in the human realm.
Lav was close now, too close in other words. He'd noticed when Atticus had disappeared. He'd come to congratulate him on a number of things since he had last spoken to him. The disapperance had shocked him and forced him to write down what Atticus would have wanted to say to Dawn. He'd been following Atticus for a while, making sure he didn't slip up, sharing is thoughts in a sense.
He approached the door after ripping the sheet of paper off his note pad and knocked fairly hard on the door before taping the note too it. He disappeared after that, no one there to witness him leave.
