Lockhart tried to cast the memory loss charm (the only magic he's actually mastered) on Harry and Ron with Ron's broken wand (Whomping Willow XD) but it backfired and he forgot just about everything... "It's just like magic!" I dunno if he went to Mungo's though

Lockhart used the memory charm which backfired on him. We last saw him in Dumbledores office.
In book five Harry is at Mungos visting Mr.Weasly. He comes across Lockhart whose memory is still gone. (The only thing that is similar is still loving signing autographs)
