((READY GO READY GOOOO....!!))
Icarus may have glanced up from his tinkering once as Karen stormed by. He grinned. "Hey." He said without looking up.
Karen breezed right passed him. "I'll deal with you later, Icarus." She said.
Icarus shrugged and then waved off George. Karen may have spared the man a brief smile, but otherwise wasn't very interested in him either. She paid the same greeting to Zoe, but then paused and squinted her eyes a little at her.
"... Who the hell is this?" She demanded. "How come SHE was here before I was? Where is the love, Icarus? Where is THE LOVE?"
"Bite me, b***h."
"b*****d!"
"I love you." Icarus said in a sweet sing song voice.
"And you'd better." Karen laughed, but then was all deadly serious when she finally spotted Terry there beside the cars, oil smeared all over his clothes. She pulled out her lower lip in a frown and her black eyes narrowed. "Terrence." She said in a voice she might have used on a stranger. She raised her eyebrows high. "It HAS been awhile... tell me... was it so hard to call me? Write letters? Icarus at least kept in touch... but YOU? No no... to good for Karen... who IS Karen, anyway?" She flicked her long hair over her shoulders. It swayed and stilled against her lower back. "I ought to..."
Karen stormed over to him and just barely reaching his height glared into his greasy face. "I ought to..." She raised a very dangerous finger, but then quickly wrapped her arms around him in a hug. "Kill you for letting me hug you when you're... ech... my good clothes..." She drew away and then laughed as she looked down at her front that now matched Terry's own.
Icarus gave a cat call from his work. "Ow, ow... you gonna wrestle anyone dressed like that?"
"Don't you just WISH." Karen retorted and did a very rude gesture with her middle finger. "Sorry, Terry... I only get this rude when Icarus is around... what a bad influence..." She paused. "... You got kind of good looking... you know. I think your head might have gotten smaller." And she laughed a good natured laugh. "Who's the chick, by the way?" And she turned to Zoe. "... Love the hair."
"That's Zoe." Icarus supplied. "She's hanging out."
Karen's mouth drew into a firm line. She said nothing.
((hmmmm... OKAY! I'm done... biggrin ))

Zoe glanced over to Karen as the woman yelled and complained. She leaned farther into the couch and winced when the elf hammered louder and louder as the woman's voice increased. She closed her eyes tightly was very tempted to explain the woman was giving her pain. Instead she swallowed the agitation when Icarus introduced her and she was complimented about her hair.
"Oh. Yeah. Thank you. I try my best to be original. But I saw some punk kid wearing the same style...a shame." She laughed a bit, though it seemed nervous. She was slowly recognizing this woman, she was sure they had been best friends in grade school. When middle school came and the cliques reigned supreme that ended up on separate sides of the spectrum. Natural selection, right? Ahhh school drama, how silly. Zoe laughed, at her thoughts but raised a hand.
"Yup, Zoe. Or you can call me...ummm..." She thought for a minute. "Steve. Nice ring to it." Another laugh. She then pulled her knees tighter to her chest and rubbed the rump over her head, the medicine was starting to take effect, the pain killers in it releasing her pain slowly. "Yeah...I kinda...dropped...in. I just can't resist hanging out with two guys who speak a language I don't understand. Radiators, chips, wires, all that. I was never one for technology. It confuses me. I'd rather ride a horse through town and pass out letters then use the internet mail."
Stan watched Karen curiously and stood up, walking lazily to the woman and sniffing her. Deciding he liked her, he wagged his tail and barked. Pet me. He demanded.

This time Terry DID look ready to piss himself. Well, if he did, that'd be par for the course. Thankfully, however, he was in full control of his bladder, and gave an awkward sort of smile. It was the sort of smile that said, "Oh crap, Uh, hi Karen... Yeah, sorry I didn't call... See, a lot of stuff happened... And you don't want excuses? Alright, I'll shut up now and let you kick my a**." A lot of words for a little movement of his mouth.
"...You ought to what?" Ohhh he didn't like the sound of- oh.
So, the whole oil all over the face thing was a GOOD idea. Because he hadn't expected that hug. Karen had always been apt to give you a good solid smack to the shoulder than anything... Nice.
Terry had to give a relieved laugh when she commented on her clothes, and shrugged, "It happens." He then gave her a big 'ol bear hug, lifting the woman from the ground for a moment before releasing her. "I never got your address... And Icarus never really wrote back much. And then I was shipped out and," he waved a hand. "Life goes too fast sometimes. You look good."
Ah, um. Right. Terry cleared his throat and rubbed at the back of his neck, smearing more oil everywhere. "Sorry. I lost contact with everyone... I haven't talked to Icky in like, ten years... It's really a miracle I found him. He tried to shoot me." There was a bemused expression on his face at that statement.
Taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly, he stepped over to the fridge, snuffed out the butt of his cigarette in Icarus' half-full glass of orange juice, and pulled a beer out. He tossed it in a little circle before catching it and popping it open. "Yeah, met Zoe last night. She ALSO tried to shoot me. It was pretty eventful."
Terry took a lazy seat on the back of the sofa, trying his hardest to pretend that he hadn't just embarrassed the crap out of himself in front of TWO women, and took a good long swig of his drink. "Icarus is pretty much done working for the day, and we were gonna go see the town. Care to join us? Or is Miss Karen too busy for a couple of bums?"

Karen squinted a little at Zoe. "Steve...?" She looked thoughtful. "I dunno... I had a boyfriend named Steve... I hated him. He cheated on me with two other girls... I beat him over the head with that stupid camera he always carried around. He thought he was an artist... turns out he was just an a*****e." She smiled pleasantly and then looked thoughtful. "Though, he did take beautiful pictures..." She shrugged. "Zoe is good, I thiii-UGH."
And it was then she was hefted into a bear hug. "God DAMN it, Terry, put me DOWN!" She said laughingly while batting him over the head. When she was finally set on the ground she got a good hit in on his shoulder and crossed her arms firmly beneath her chest. "You a**s. I oughta punch you in the boob." She paused enough to take his compliment in stride and titled her pretty head to bat her eyelashes at him. "I've always looked good, Terrence, but I'm always flattered when someone comments on it." She hit him lightly again. "Don't LIE. I look old. Like my MOTHER."
At Stan's hello she jumped a little and put her hand to her heart. "Holy... there's a dog in here!" She announced and she laughed a little at herself. "He yours...?" He asked of Zoe as she knelt down to rub Stan around his ears. She smiled at the dog. "He's beautiful." She remarked. "Such a strong man."
Karen then glanced at Terry. "I have the time. I made the time today." She laughed. "I haven't been doing much lately... just going to school and interning at the hospital. I got some labs going and all that, but I never take a break... I'll do it today." She grinned. "Not so often you see old friends. It's a LITTLE more interesting than studying antibodies... only a little though."
She looked at Zoe. "So she's coming?" She wanted to know. "It's weird, Icarus... I mean... she doesn't even know what email is."
Icarus perked up. "Email?"
"You know... internet... mother boards, hard drives, hard disks. Don't you like geeky girls?"
Icarus pretended to shiver. "I love it when you talk computer. It makes me want you so bad." He said teasingly. "Do it again."
Karen wrinkled her nose as if she were disgusted with him. "Shut up." She smiled.
Icarus flashed her a charming smile and disappeared into the front of the shop with the newly repaired computer in hand.

"Oh." Was Zoe's remark to the boyfriend named Steve. She watched the woman some more and laughed a bit when she was pulled into a large hug. She felt strangely out of place around this group. They all knew each other, all had some history together. Maybe she should have kept George here, or let him take her to work. Her eyes lowered towards Steve as he was pet, well...Stan enjoyed himself, so if she had to stay, she'd stay for Stan.
"Yeah, I've had him since a little bit before I graduated high school. I found him as a tiny little puppy. Someone had abandoned him. Turns out he's a wonderful guard dog. Getting a bit older now, but he still can keep up with me." Her smile was true as she watched Stan warm up to Karen. "He loves women. Good thing he's neutered." Stan turned his head to Zoe and jumped on the couch beside her, resting his head against hers and then licking her face. "Thanks, thanks buddy." She said sarcastically and furrowed her brows at the dog spit on her face.
It was a good thing that Karen didn't remember her. If she had...it'd be even more awkward than it was now. She listened quietly to her talk about school, as she rubbed Stan's head, fingers scratching between his ears as he slipped his head onto her lap and started to drift off again. "Lazy a**." She muttered to him under her breath.
"Oh. Well I don't have to. I mean. I can get to work. I work pretty close here, if you guys want to have your little reunion together. To be honest...I feel like I'm interrupting." She gave a nervous laugh, the pain in her head finally only a dull throb, so she removed the meat and looked around for a spot to place it without disturbing Stan. She still felt dizzy and light headed, but she always felt that way. "Er..." She twisted her back and finally placed the meat on a table near the couch. With a sigh she glanced back at Terrence and Karen since Icarus had left to the front of the shop with some box. Probably a computer.
"Mother board?" She suddenly said aloud. "Like a space ship? Or is that a mother SHIP. Right. I don't know cause I never was into technology. I'm clumsy and always break it...it's a wonder I ever got into gymnastics and cheer leading." She said with a shrug and went quiet, starring at the ground. Stan's ears twitched as she rubbed his shoulders and his tail wagged lazily. Pursing her lips she grabbed Mother Night again and opened it to the page she had stopped reading. Might as well make something of the time while these people got to know each other again. She'd remain pleasantly entranced in her book until they decided it best to kick her out.

"Owww, ow oww, Karen..." Terry whined in a good-natured sort of way, rubbing at his abused shoulder. "It's been over a decade, and that spot is STILL sensitive. Watch it." He grumbled before shaking his head, "My boobs are off limits. No punching." He pointed a warning finger at her before rubbing his hands on the sides of his jeans to try and get some of the oil off.
It didn't help much, but eh, what can ya do?
Drink your beer! Why yes! Terry was quite sure he could do that. So, he took another sip of the stuff and seemed to look Karen over, "I don't know what your mother looks like... But if you're any indication... Well..." He dropped his voice a bit, "I don't hang out with ugly old people."
Ducking the swing he knew was coming, he nearly fell off the side of the couch and into Zoe's lap. 'Twas a good thing he managed to keep his balance, but just barely.
"Zoe, you're not interrupting..." Though, he could tell that Karen seemed a bit on edge... Hm. It honestly was a wonder that HE didn't feel a bit awkward. After all, he'd just dropped in on Icarus, had already stayed the night, and was now meeting another childhood friend... And there was something SO PAINFULLY familiar about Zoe... It kept nagging at the back of his mind.
He might have asked her why her face was so familiar, but she'd taken to reading, and he didn't want to sound weird. who knew, maybe it was just him.
"At a hospital? That's funny." Terry gave an obnoxious grin before ACTUALLY slipping off the back of the sofa and landing on his rump, managing to spill his beer in his lap. "Well damn it." Righting the can before finishing it off, he batted at his now soggy jeans and sighed. Not like it really mattered.
"Icky.. You about done in there?" He asked, eyeing the front area, where someone had just walked in.
He was ready to see his old town.

((BLESS ME! I sneezed biggrin ... *posts*))
Karen did in fact make a swing for him at that comment, but instead of actually getting to strike him she gripped him by his elbow so he didn't tumble over. "Wow. What a light weight, Terry... that's ONLY your first one." She laughed at him and then walked around the couch with her hands behind her back. She laughed a little at Stan as he licked Zoe's face.
"You're DEFINITELY not interrupting... I mean... I don't mind." She shrugged. "I've just never seen you with Icarus before. Sorry if I came off rude... I tend to sound like an a** from time to time... just let me know and I'll try to stop myself." Karen laughed another good natured laugh. Though, she paused a little and looked at Zoe at an angle. Her dark eyes flickered. However her attention was back on Terry as Zoe started to read again. She snorted at the spilt beer in his lap.
"Talented, as always." She remarked smartly, thin eyebrows high upon her forehead. "... WAIT. They tried to SHOOT you?" She asked seeming to register this comment at last. "... What the hell? Did... wait..." She put a slender hand to her head and her brow puckered. "... Shoot you?" She repeated.
Karen then made a face. "I don't want to know. AND what's funny about me being at a hospital?" She wanted to know as she arched an eyebrow. She rested a foot on one of his knees.
At Terry's call Icarus returned moments later looking pleased. "That was a really worth while job. Seriously." He remarked and then clapped his hands together. "Alright. Let's head on out, shall we?" He looked to Zoe. "You comin'? As long as you're feeling alright... otherwise you might just want to go lay down."
Karen looked to Zoe. "Is she all right?"
Icarus frowned. "We think... sometimes I wonder, though."

((Bless thy mortal soul, my child.))
"No...it wasn't you. I just felt that way." She gave a small grin at Karen. "You aren't rude. I've seen rude, you aren't that." She waved a tan hand and tilted her head forward to see the words. She had forgotten her glasses on the floor after throwing them so nice and daintily at the calender on her wall. As they talked about shooting Terry, Zoe really did feel bad about it. But hey, it wasn't HER fault he looked like a suspicious drunk guy...cause he did...and still does. Except now that he wasn't under dark street lights and throwing up, he was at least good looking.
When Icarus came back Zoe looked a bit relieved, for some reason she had nothing to say to these two. If she said something to Terry he'd blush and run under a car, and if she said something to Karen she was sure she'd laugh and slap her jovially, which in the end would hurt or make her head wobbly. "I'm fine. I'm just always a bit...tipsy...without the alcohol." She gave a little laugh of assurance and started to move her legs.
Stan grunted in annoyance and lifted his head, staring directly at Zoe as if telepathically communicating with her. He jumped off the couch and wandered over to Karen, waiting for Zoe to get up and join them. She lifted herself from the couch, blinking the dizziness away and then grabbing the rump roast and inspecting the room. Upon seeing the freezer she stuck it inside and followed Stan to the others. With a tan hand she fixed her ripped pink band shirt, scratched her exposed stomach, and tugged on her pin-stripe caprees. Afterwards she licked her lips and nodded.
"See? Fine. Can we get some coffee on our way? I can't go a day without coffee, otherwise I WON'T be fine and I might eat one of your arms for energy. I don't want to be charged with murder or be known as a cannibal really. It'd make for a wonderful sequel to the Silence of the Lambs movies though. I love horror movies." Pursing her lips she kicked a leg out and started to walk towards the door, obviously thinking the others would follow in pursuit.

((I POST NAO))
"You, of all people, Karen, should know I'm no lightweight," Terry offered offhandedly, waving a finger at her. When Karen spoke to Zoe, the man nodded, pushing some of his hair out of his face, "If she hasn't changed much, then she USUALLY sounds like an a**. It's something you learn to deal with." he gave Zoe an awkward pat on the shoulder and left her to her reading.
"It's funny because you're the one who ended up in the hospital that one time, for a little too much," He motioned smoking a certain substance, then shook his head. "Not to mention that time you ran Harold over in our go-kart." Terry folded his arms across his chest, "So you working FOR a hospital's a bit ironic, Miss Karen."
Upon her thinking of them trying to shoot him, Terry got a very serious look on his face - he was over acting. Hamming it up. "Yes, they tried to shoot me. You know, with guns. They tried to KILL ME..." He half waited for Icarus to put in something like 'yeah, because he was stumbling out of a seedy bar, piss drunk and looking like a bounty.' So, he left that for Icarus to say, should he want to.
Hopping to his feet at the notion of going out, Terrence ducked into the bathroom to clean up as much as he could, and reappeared just as Zoe was headed out the door. Raising his eyebrows at Icarus, he threw a thumb at the rainbow haired woman, "Shall we follow then? This town's way different than I remember... So why not show me 'round, right?"

((WAAAA... sa.))
Icarus shrugged. "Coffee? Sure. Why not. Don't take too long in there though. I can't stand the stuff." He made a face. "Not unless they put like 12 pumps of chocolate in there. Seriously."
Karen frowned a little at his hospital story and shook her head. "Could you... NOT bring that particular story up?" She whispered to him. "Icarus is touchy about it."
"Because I should have been watching you." He said from over his shoulder and grinned at Terry, though it didn't seem sincere. Despite Karen trying to keep it low, he had heard anyway. "I was such an idiot. We were both idiots, but I knew better."
Karen smiled at him and then made a face at Terry. She poked him a little with her elbow. "See?" She mouthed when Icarus turned around again and headed out the door.
"And DON'T be such a drama queen, California. Yeah, we almost shot him." Icarus said peering through the door once more. "He was stumbling out of a seedy bar, piss drunk and looking like a bounty." He laughed and left again. "Lock the door on the way out, please."
The young Indian woman put a hand to her mouth to stifle her laughter. "THAT doesn't surprise me. I know you're not a light weight, Terry... THAT'S why it was funny." She said as she too stole out of the door way. She grabbed Terry by his wrist and drug him out after her. "We'll show you around." She said brightly as they walked out into the sunshine. "Not too much has really changed."
((And just to keep things interesting...))
And they walked for a little bit and Karen fell behind a little and Terry drifted up a little to talk to Icarus. Karen watched them for awhile as they seemed to be arguing about the best place to get coffee even though both of them knew very little about the caffeine fixes of the everyday working man/woman and they had already all decided on Luna's Cafe ((I think that was it)). Smiling at them and knowing then they were completely distracted, Karen fell into step with Zoe. They were out of sight and out of mind.
She fixed her with a look and it was then someone would have noticed that despite Karen's size she was not a woman to be messed with. She may have been small structured, but she was tall and lean. There was a sort of angle to her face that made her look meaner than the woman who spoke before and there was a well practiced gleam in her eyes that some women had. It was a cruel look, something girls would use to make another female feel small or worthless. She looked cold.
"Don't think I don't remember who you are." Karen said in a low voice, but somehow kept her face pleasant. Her eyes however were a different story. They sparked dangerously in her dark face. "I know you, Zoelie... and don't think I could forget how you were." She pointed a dark finger at her threateningly. "People can change... but not someone like you. People like YOU never change. They grow up, but what was once cruel will always BE cruel. You had not heart, Zoelie, and I doubt you have one now... so if this some SICK act... I want you to cut it OUT. You will not mess with my friends... not like how you used to."
She drew back a little. "Are we clear? I'm not a little girl anymore, Zoelie... And like then I can still beat the s**t out of you."
"Hey!" Icarus called over his shoulder. "You guys had better keep up. I'm NOT waiting."
Karen smiled. "Alright already! God... what a douche." And she trotted to catch up.

Zoe grinned as the group followed her. "You don't HAVE to get chocolate you know. They give regular coffee. Most of the time I bring my own mug thingy and they fill up for you. Wonderful stuff. Much better than your cancer sticks." She raised a brow and laughed a bit as they pulled ahead of her and started arguing over coffee shops. She had one in mind, one she always went to, but she let them argue anyways, they seemed to like it.
Stan stayed at Zoe's side, trotting next to her loyally, head held high and snout sniffing the air at all the different smells that lingered in it. Zoe's mind wandered as she attempted to stay in a straight path, not wobble to and fro as usual like a mad woman. When Karen fell beside her, Zoe glanced at her with curiosity, a lump forming in her throat.
"They're amusing are-" She stopped as Karen glared at her and spoke up. A pit dug at her stomach and Stan looked over at his owner, feeling the sudden dread wash over her. A look crossed Zoe's eyes and she remained quiet, not to disturb the woman's threats or whatever she'd call them. "I was just hoping you didn't recognize me." She gave a smile, as if trying to make things blow over but it felt that wasn't going to happen. Part of her knew it was coming, one of these days her past would come to haunt her, not that it already didn't with her mother and her sleeping habits.
"I'm done with acting, Karen. I was good at it throughout school, but I suck now a days. My actress dreams are over." She gave a laugh and shrugged. "I don't doubt you can beat me up either. It's fine..." She drifted off as Karen left her to catch up to the guys, leaving Stan and Zoe to themselves. Her fingers twitched anxiously and she struggled to not stumbled at the light headed feeling. There was nothing she could do to change Karen's mind, and she knew it. The least she could do now was just be nice, that's all she could ever do now.
"Stan the man. I have one thing to say to you. Never get a girlfriend. Girl's are vicious beasts that gnaw your hands off." She laughed out loud and finally caught up to the others, Stan trotting beside her as always. "After this I should probably get to work...Ann's all alone, and I feel bad leaving her alone when I can't make it. And I really am intruding on the reunion." Her eyes lowered to Stan who was still looking concerned and worried, eyes staying on his human companion. "Luna Cafe? How did you know? I love that place. I think we got a mind...connection. Us." She waved her hand around the group and licked her lips. "ESP, is that what it's called?" Looking thoughtful she shrugged and took a deep breath of afternoon air.
Grudges were not foreign to her. In the past they had no effect on her, and she wasn't about to let it effect her in the present. It'd only give Karen even more reason to hate her. "Stan...you want anything? No coffee, but maybe a scone? You like scones." She pat his head and broke into a jog, ahead of the group of friends and walking into the cafe. Stan glanced behind him, watching Karen for a minute, his eyes eerily human, and then clicking in after Zoe.

((HOKAY. Let's see what we can do here...))
Er, right. Bad idea about the hospital story... Terry had been amused by the whole thing, perhaps because he thought it was funny, or because that had been an initial self-protective way of dealing with it. When you're twelve years old and your friend ended up like that... It was a scary thing. Perhaps even now it was too recent to pull one of those 'look back and laugh at it' deals. Whoops.
"Sorry," Terry mouthed back, suddenly wanting to be alone. Perhaps that was part of his problem. No social skills. He'd never really been too great at that. But eh, it happens, right? Right.
The man had to give a groan though, as Icarus flat out read his mind. "You got it, Icky," He muttered, shoving his arm into his jacket as they walked out the door. "And I'll pass on the coffee too. Dun' need any." He'd already had his morning 'pick me up,' if that's what it could be called.
Wrist in the grip of Karen's hand, they all left the shop to explore the town - after they got some coffee. Terry pulled his hand away and edged up to talk to Icarus, whom he hadn't seen much of that morning, all things considered.
After their coffee debate and subsequent choosing of one Luna Cafe (which must have been fairly new, because Terrence had never heard of it), Terry stole a glance back at the girls, who had fallen behind. Said glance was quickly revoked, being that it seemed they were in a private conversation, and neither looked too keen on having eavesdroppers. So instead, he tried striking up a conversation with Icarus.
"So, bounty hunting... What's it like? I mean, I could tell ya what it's like to be on the wrong end of it..." he gave his friend a meaningful, though joking look, "But it just sounds so surreal. And how the hell'd you get a license to carry?" He had to laugh at that one. Zoe had been carrying... Well, all he remembered was staring at a lot of guns the previous night. WHY'D he have to get SO WASTED? Ooooh yeah. Nevermind. Zoe had been carrying at least two guns, and that combination was such an odd thing in his mind. Almost as if she were pretending to be something she wasn't. Wasn't there a girl in school who was sort of like that?
Ehh... Terrence couldn't remember. But then again, memory wasn't really his strong point. Sure, he retained what he needed... But there were quite a few blackouts. Ehh, live in the moment, right? RIGHT.
They soon arrived at the coffee shop, just about the same time that Karen joined their group, and Zoe overtook them. She got to the shop first, but the other three weren't far behind. Stepping inside (and coughing at the rather intense coffee bean smell that smacked Terry in the face), they nabbed a small table and waited for Zoe to get her coffee.
Terry was tapping his fingers idly on the table, wondering how long they'd be there, and if this was one of those places that had banned smoking in public buildings. He didn't see any signs, but that didn't mean anything either.
((Yeaaaah. I dunno. randomness. Sorry if it's scatterbrained... I'm like... Tired. XD))

((NOT. A. SITH. LORD.))
Icarus glanced over his shoulder at Zoe. "I just remembered the name on the coffee cup you had yesterday." He remarked. "A good memory, you know?" He tapped his temple with a grin.
And then he watched as they ran ahead into the shop. He titled his head at Stan and followed his gaze, but of course could not find exactly what he was looking at. Karen was watching Icarus.
"You going to answer Terry's question? Tell him about your bad a** bounty hunting ways." She grinned.
Icarus raised an eyebrow at her and then turned to Terry. "License to carry? Easy: I'm in America. Anyone can get a gun, Terry. Where have you BEEN?" He laughed. "Or maybe that's the bitter liberal talking inside of me... he fights a lot with the bitter conservative. They're very noisy." He flashed Terry a smile as they scooted into the cafe and took some seats. Icarus pulled out Karen's chair quickly before sitting down as well.
"And about what's it like?... It's... interesting." He paused and looked thoughtful. "I haven't run into any real problems yet. I've only really been shot twice... and both times it was no big deal." He shrugged. "I've gotten a few black eyes... things like that. It's hard work, but I found I really have the means to track." He looked thoughtful again. "There are a lot of spreads of quiet time where I quietly rot in my shop and starve."
Karen rolled her eyes. "I'd FEED you if you called me, you know?"
Icarus punched her lightly on the shoulder. "I take it like a man." He joked and looked back to Terry. "It's something I kind of enjoy... it's something to get all those daily aggressions out!" He laughed and his clear eyes flashed. "I'm pretty okay with it... I do like to kick a** and make money. AND I make my own hours. It's a pretty good job and besides being a fireman it was something I wanted to do when I was... Seven?" He laughed and leaned back. "Why ask?"

((YOU. You make me DISGUSTED. It is so sith lord. You nincompoopie.))
Zoe leaned over the counter and wiggled her fingers at the man behind the counter. He turned around and upon seeing Zoe he flashed her a grin and he pet her stiff haired head. "Morning little kitten." He said in a coy voice. He was light skinned with black curly hair and stunning blue eyes. Another friend of Zoe's since high school. Except he wasn't one of her followers. He had been a friend of George and was associated with Zoe through them. "You look a bit tired today. Need a bit of morning juice?" He gave a charming grin and began to take out a large cup.
"Of course, you know me so well, Lee." She laughed at him and laid her head against the counter, hands splayed out. "I didn't sleep a wink last night. I met some people and it's got me thinking." She pursed her lips as he glanced over the coffee machine, watching her wiggle her lips. "Ah never mind. I just feel I should be remembering something about them. Well one I do...but the other two...they...look so FAMILIAR." She said it all in a quiet tone so only Lee could hear and the others would only hear murmurs. Lee's blue eyes moved over to the three sitting at a table and he raised his dark brows. After putting all the fixings in Zoe's cup he moved to her and leaned in close to her face.
"They were those...punks. Remember? We always saw them hanging out smoking dope and what-not? Always looked stoned? Never went to class?" He whispered, eyes staying on hers. "I remember they hated us with a passion, especially George and You. Amazing they're hanging with you. But I guess history is just history. Never late for second chances. He needs to cut his hair though...don't dreads get bugs and dirt in them?" He leaned back and made a disgusted face. Zoe couldn't help but snort and shrug, trying to hide her sudden shock. She remembered...
"Yeah...but they look sexy on some. Wouldn't on you. Ugh." She waved a hand and he looked taken back, gawking at her in mock shock. "Love ya baby." She kissed the air and waved her hips before handing him some money, a bit extra with the tips and wandered over to the table, grinning at the group. "You sure you don't want anything? Lee can make the best damn mochas in the entire universe." She sat down next to Terry and smiled at him before taking a long sip of coffee, never mind the scalding hot temperature of it.
For now she'd just remain normal. She figured the past deserved to stay in the past. "I always feel...selfish when I'm the only one eating or drinking...or sitting...so if you want anything...just say the word. Which is ...I want something. Two words. But whatever, you know." She giggled a bit and took another sip. Stan sat at her side, eyes half closed. He was allowed in all stores with her. He was considered a service dog, for a few important reasons.
"...Wait...make that three words." She added as an afterthought. Common sense was never her strength.

((DO NOT WAAAAAAAAAAAANT!))
"Oh, I know it's pretty easy to get ahold of a gun, Icarus, but YOU specifically... I have to say I'm surprised." He gave an easy shrug as he glanced over his shoulder at Zoe. It looked like she was the only one getting a coffee. "Do they HAVE anything else here to eat or drink?" He wondered aloud, feeling somewhat out of place in the ritzy looking coffee house.
Though, the thought of getting something to ingest was pushed aside when Icarus mentioned what the job was like. And for saying that there wasn't anything interesting, it sure SOUNDED like it wasn't boring. "Shot twice? Good job there, Icky," He said. "And starving yourself sounds like a grand 'ol time too. No wonder you've gotten so skinny."
Shrugging, Terry answered Icarus' question, "I dunno. I ended up out here for no good reason. I wasn't thinking when I bought the plane ticket, or when I went to that bar... Or obviously any time thereafter. And I figure that you findin' me, and letting me stick around had to be for a reason, right? Hell, I've had my share of guns and shooting at people... Why not get paid for it? I mean, you're pretty much legally breaking the law. That's got to be more exciting than..." Well, he didn't really know what it'd be more exciting than.
Leaning back in his chair and letting the thing tip backwards until he was balancing on just the back legs, Terrence glanced over as Zoe sat down next to them, gigantic coffee cup in hand. This time, he managed a half-smile back at her, finding no respite from the attention, and so simply sat and dealt with it. Funny how easy that was. Maybe it was about time to learn to stop running from girls... Well, girls who weren't Karen. She was the only one he seemed capable of dealing with on a regular basis.
Upon hearing Zoe's offer, that thought of other edibles came back 'round to the front of his mind. "What else do they sell here? Anything GOOD?" He eyed that coffee cup warily. He had his own idea of what would wake him up in the morning, and he'd spilled half of it in his lap not too much earlier.
He kindly overlooked Zoe's miscounting of her words.
However, he couldn't rightly overlook the person who had just stepped in the door. The man was a fairly gorilla-esque fellow, with an arm completely covered in tattoos, and a handlebar mustache that would make any Texan proud. The guy looked absolutely out of place in the shop, but that didn't seem to deter him from moving his hulking form with his too-short legs right over to their table.
His beady little eyes washed over Terry and Karen, pausing briefly on Zoe, before landing on Icarus. "Heya. Didn't find you at the shop..." He tugged at the end of his mustache, which Terry just noticed was slightly lopsided. It looked like the guy did that a lot. "Saw you through the window there. Got your weekly list. There's a couple 'o bang-up jobs in there, if you think you're up for it. You want me to tell Derek that you'll bring a few in this week?"
It seemed he didn't realize there were other people around, or didn't care. Whatever the case, it was PRETTY obvious this was a regular occurrence.
((Thought we could have some fun going after a bounty or something... I dunno. Things were getting a little boring, ya know? I DUNNO. I'M GOING TO BED NOW. AHHHH *howls and runs off*))
