"You humans are the hostile ones, killing my people as if they were animals." Juko said. "My promise will not get in the way of my revenge. If you stand by her side, you will die along with her."

"alright" she looked at him with a look of enlightenment and endearment then she began to walk in front of Alaric

Then she looked at Juko "you had your chance to kill me and you blew it"

"There is always more than one chance to take anothers life, I shall just wait for the next one." Juko said as he bared his fangs and raised his claws.

"Believe me, stranger... I know that humans deserve to die..." Alaric said with a passing glance as he followed Ashley, "And if you must kill me, so be it. But I will not let you reach her."
With that, Alaric followed after Ashley at full pace. The village was fading out behind them.
"Lady Ashley," Alaric said, calmly, "Why do you have to go and pull stunts like that? Not to sound like your father, but you could have died... In fact, judging by your cheek, you came pretty close..."
He wasn't always formal with royalty. He felt like he knew her for long enough to talk to her on more of an equal level than that of a peasant or a servant. Maybe he was just deluding himself...

Juko walked back towards the village. 'What would mother think of me?' he thought.

Another sigh escaped his lips.
"Well, if you're really sorry, then just don't do something like that again," he said, trying to be strict on her. It was hard to do for him, since he wasn't exactly the cold-hearted type. "Listen, your father's heart will burst if he finds that you've been hanging around with a person like that, so we're just going to say you were gathering herbs or something, I don't know what he usually tells you to do..."
He was a good liar if he needed to be, but he wasn't very attentive. That was his downfall more often than not. The castle appeared as they approached it, and he kept trying to think of ways to keep her out of serious trouble.
"So you're okay, right? Tell me honestly," he said as they walked.

"You know, whenever your mood is 'emotional,' you usually wind up fighting with your father..." he said, knowing the king's skill in empathy, or lack of, "Well, anyway, we're here, and he'll probably want to 'talk' with you immediately... Do you want me to stick around, or shall I leave you to your own thoughts, m'lady?"
Of course, he was only acting this courteous now that he was in the presence of royal guardsman. The king hated when he acted like a friend to his daughter. Alaric never understood why. It's not as though their relationship could have gone any further, due to their statuses.
He stood, arms crossed at the castle gates, waiting for the princess's reply as he pondered what he would do in either choice. If she needed him to stay, his actions would be up to her, but if she was done, then he would probably have to resort to training the recruit guardsman. After all, no one else did around here, and the drillmaster couldn't care less about the status of his trainees...

"Alright. Have fun with your father," he said, forgetting the rules of formality briefly. He smiled, turning and going into the gates as he waited for her to pass through, closing the door after.
He wasn't sure what she would do now. Something told him she would just get herself into more trouble. As for him, it was off to the training grounds.
A trampled dirt arena greeted him, a group of recruits sparring with blunt iron weapons, wearing simple chain mail. Alaric walked in, seeing the drillmaster was nowhere to be found. He waited for the match between the two to end before stepping in, at which point he took a blunt pole, the same length as his blade, but weighing much less. The fight began, along with the teaching. He was not a good teacher, but he was skilled, so he figured the trainees would hopefully pick up on the techniques by watching...

Ashley got a lecture and ran up to her room crying. She threw herself on her bed and cried some more "I hate this place" she said

Juko stood at the edge of the Strange People village looking towards the tower. "I understand what you want me to do....mother." he said as he put his hood on and walked towards the castle. "Shes going to be mad at me, but who cares." he said as he kept his head low.

Alaric was almost defeated from his brief pause. His ears perked at the sound of Ashley's crying.
Tactful as usual, I see... he thought, noticing the coming blow just in time to block it.
"Caught me at a slight distraction, I believe. Jeremy, work on your blocking, Darrel, your blows need more strength to them, but other than that we're right where we're supposed to be. Now, excuse me, I have other matters to attend to.""
With that, he turned, throwing his pole to another recruit as he took his actual blade from its resting place, putting it on his back and walking out. The castle towers had a lot of stairs, but he would climb them. Luckily, they would be easier than normal, because he had left his plate armor at the blacksmith's. Now he was in the normal, elegant clothing of the high-ranking people in the castle.
A short walk, and he was at the stairs. He began climbing them immediately. Hopefully he wasn't making a huge mistake by going to visit Ashley, but he would.
He ran up the stairs, and after what seemed like an eternity, he reached his destination. A door stood before him, one that would lead to her room.
He knocked, and waited...
