hah, I remember, 3 years ago, when one of our trumpet players went to the bathroom in the middle of the rehearsal, and our conductor was on the phone. Everyone took apart his trumpet and stand. Flipped over his chair and scattered his music. Then we arranged it so it looked like modern art.

Well, I cant think of anything that Ive done but my friend droped a little ball of puddy down his bari sax. No, we never got it all out xd
Then, one day after he took it home from school he got his hand stuck in the bell for 10 min. It aparently went numb for a while.
yes, my friend is an idiot blaugh

Last year our trumpet section was kinda crazy.
This one day the trumpets were having issues with a certain spot in a song, and our BD bet her socks, BRAND NEW, HOT PINK, socks that they couldnt play it perfectly. Low and behold they did! So she threw one of her hot pink socks at the section leader so he picked it up and put it on the end of his bell and played the rest of the peice like that.
Everyone laughed sooo hard! It was hilarious. biggrin

Tara~Puget27 Can anyone jump up and down while playing their instrument?? It'd be hard for people who's instruments involved their mouths... I'm willing to bet that some drummers can play while jumping up and down =D It would also depend on how high the person would jump.

I once played a note on a friend's flute using my nose... She was out of the room at the moment, and it was quite funny.

Bathing with your instrument is QUITE silly, and dangerous if you're a woodwind. whee (Actually I've never done it, and I don't wanna risk my buddy. That clarinet's the only one I have right now. xp )
But when my older brother was in the band, he fell during a particularly muddy competition, getting his trumpet covered in mud (on the inside too, somehow. o.O), and they couldn't do anything about it when they got back to the school, so at home he dunked his trumpet into a bathtub full of water. eek
I saw my friend licking her clarinet's bell because it had melted chocolate on it. xd
OH! Here's a good one: At band camp this year, two guys were playing baseball during waterbreak. Well...it wasn't really baseball. The bat was a clarinet held upside down, and the ball was a bottle of water. Josh threw it and Xiao Xiao WHACKED that sucker... eek

RinoaHeartilly My friend took her clarinet once and pretended it was a paddle and that she was in a kayak. O.o Trombone Row! Heh, that's our trombone section thing. Anytime we have to do a parade (the trombones are the front line every year. It's our band's tradition), and the drums are doing a cadence, our trombonists are "rowing the band" as we call it. I don't think anyone in our band has done that, for the pure fact our directors would yell at us and call us immature. sweatdrop

In my school band, all trombones have to have "gay" names, so I named mine d**k. Since the brass players stick their tounges in the mouth pieces, we all say it's "making out". So... when you think about it, I've made out with my d**k.

when we were practicing for the field show this year, the senior class president (clarinetist), who was standing behind a freshman clarinet player, snuck up on her with his clarinet & gave her a wedgie. every1 in the clarinet section started laughing.

Well on my first band camp the other trombonists (is that a word?) and I took our shoes off and held the slide between our toes to play. Everyone thought it was funny except the stand in conductor...

Well... I like to play colorguard with my clarinet while standing around. And one of the clarinetists gets a huge kick out of standing inside the sousaphone. xD
