A Friendly Ear (AIM PRP)

Parties involved in order of first appearance: Kawaii_Hime_Ceres, and Surion Rakamash.

----

Ceres, and Natalia were into an intense game of hide and seek.

Despite Natalia's disadvantage of not being able to see to know if she could be seen she had found some darn good hiding spots. Currently she was hiding under the bathroom sink in the cabinet of towels.

Ceres was the 'hunter', and prowling about the house. "Come out, come out... Where ever you are." She chimed as she checked niches, and under cabinets..

Natalia's giggles gave her away. But, she couldn't help it. She was far to excited. She thought she had the perfect place.

"Gotcha!" Ceres grinned as she opened the cabinet. She tickled her little girl, but it came to an abrupt stop. It was her mirror... "Oh goody mail!"

"No mommy!" Natalia pouted. "You stay and play with me..."

"I'll be right back..." Ceres said as she hugged Natalia tightly. "Why don't you go and find a really good spot while I'm gone."

"Okay." Natalia grinned. "Best ever!"

Shicala stood in front of a mirror in the hallway of the inn, she had NO clue if she had done that right, Senti was sitting on her shoulder chittering though Shicala had NO clue what the dragon wanted. She only knew Surion had not come out of his room for a couple days, and for the first time ever had not told her about his trip to Gaia.

Ceres came toppling through the mirror. She had expected to be in the bathroom of the post off, and to be sitting on the sink... Same fashion she always had. She grabbed the nearest thing to keep her from falling which happened to be the lady in front of her. Her travel bag fell off her shoulder and hung in the crook of her arm. She tried her best not to show any signs of being angry, but she couldn't help but to look confused. The only thing she recognized was Senti Surions dragon.

Shicala's expression was pure shock, this wasn't what she expected at all "What the" she'd expected a somewhat more..... graceful and magical entrance by the female Surion had told her about... She didn't look a ton like her son at that moment, her nearly black hair pulled up on the back of her head, no visible horns or otherwise.

Ceres removed her hand from the other's shoulder, and stood up straight. She pulled the bag back up to her shoulder, and then went about straightening her attire. She brushed her bangs, and pushed her hair behind her shoulder.

Ceres gasped as she realized she as seeing through a strangers eyes without permission. She quickly closed her eyes, and shut the connection. "I'm very, very sorry... I don't normally use others eyes without permission... And, I don't normally come toppling out of mirrors." She was going a mile a minute with her apologies.

Shic said nothing about the eye thing, she didn't know the difference "Well I was expecting a slightly more... graceful entrance, did you not expect to come out of some sort of mirror?"

Senti begun to chitter again looking back and forth between the two women.

Ceres put her hands on her hips. "Normally, I don't have some random person calling for me. And, most people at least have something in front of a mirror. So I always prepare for a sitting position." She was already on the defense, but quickly she folded them and rested them on her stomach to look less defensive.

"Senti." Ceres grinned. "How about we trade. Treat for site?" As she asked this question she was already busy digging through her bag.

Senti's head perks up in something in a sense of an affirmative and looking expectantly for treats.

"Well I guess you could call me a stranger of sorts, but not really random... You are Ceres arent you?" she asks her.

Ceres opens up he container taking away the bread. She kneels slowly, and sets the container on the floor. "There you go." She grins.

Ceres does look at who is speaking to her, but not directly. Her site issues are made apparent, but not what is wrong. "Yes, I am Ceres." She said as she stood back up keeping her eyes focused. "And, you?"

Senti gobbles down the treat given before skittering up onto Cere's shoulder, his little feet tickling as he did

Shicala nods "Sorry, I'm Shicala.. I'm Surion's mother" she tries to make up for the oversight of forgetting this woman did not know her.

"Thank You Senti." Ceres said finally able to focus on the lady. "I've heard of you, just never met you." She said with a smile as she extended her hand. "Pleasure to meet you."

Shicala extended her own hand and accepted the handshake, on her middle finger a ring almost identical but more feminine then Surion's.

If Ceres hadn't know better she might have assumed that Surion and the woman were engaged judging by the rings... But, she did know better. "The reason behind your 'call'... Is something the mater?" She asked concerned about Surion.

"Uhm well he went to Gaia a few days ago, when he came back he didn't tell me about his trip like he always does," she looked down the hall towards a closed door. "And, he hasn't come out since."

Ceres would have normally chalked this up to 'growing pains', but if the lady said he never kept anything from her then it was something else. She began to wonder if this had anything to do with that girl, or his memories. "May I?" She motioned down the hall. "I've seven myself... Maybe I'll have a little luck."

"Thats kinda why I attempted to contact you, you are the only one from what Surion has told me I'd have any hope of contacting, cause I will not go back to Gaia at all" she nods and motions down the hall "second from last door on the right."

Ceres felt a little bubbly knowing that she could be trusted with another's child, and that said person trusted her. She nodded her head pulling from a slight daze. With that she headed down the hall.

"I'll be downstairs" Shicala said turning away from her and heading down the now silent hall.

Ceres simply nodded her head knowing already from sound that the other was leaving. She knocked softly on the door. "Surion... Open up pretty please." She could sugar coat it, but if it came down to it she knew Surion had a mirror in his room and could enter via that way.

Surion looked up recognizing the voice, he was surprised to hear it. He was staring at pictures on the Glitchen. After a moment he got up and walked over opening the door "Ceres? What are you doing here?" there was something... different about him, besides his draconic features not being visible.

"Well with help of Senti I'm getting a 15 minute conversation with your mother, and 2 minute tour of the hall." She giggled. "In other words your mum is worried about you, and she called for my help." She said as she wiggled her way into his room and closed the door behind her for privacy.

"Why is she worried?" he raises a brow, moving to sit down on his desk chair again but has turned to face her, his glitchen visible over his shoulder it had a picture of him and Nani on it.

"We mothers pay more attention that you realize." Ceres began. "Your habits, your likes, your dislikes... The entire nine yards and then some. We learn to adjust so that we can comfort our offspring."

Ceres took a seat on the edge of his bed where she wouldn't disturb anything. "In other words. You out of habit tell your mother every little detail, and since you can back from Gaia you haven't said a word to her... Thus she is worrying. She just wants to know so that she can help you." She smiled softly.

"How do you tell your mother you know everything about their past, when they really don't want to know that... How do you tell them you know who your father is, who the other person's mate was... How do you deal with having the knowledge of your mate... And how do you let go of someone who possesses your heart completely" he said after about a minute of silence, he was staring at the floorboards as if they were the most interesting thing ever.

"I find it best to start at the beginning... It makes getting to the end alot easier and generally with less complication." Ceres said noticing the picture of Surion and Nani. "You are important to her, and she'll listen regardless if she doesn't want to her it."

"Mom doesn't want to know anything about her past, she doesn't care... She is happy with Tenor.... " he replies after taking a breath and sighs

"She loves you, she cares for you... There for without say it she does want to know. Just because you know about her previous life that she doesn't remember doesn't mean you have to tell her. All you have to tell her is what pertains to you." Ceres said as she stood up. She moved closer to Surion.

"What? that I remember the woman I gave my heart to, and every moment from the promise to never leave her to finding out I hurt her so bad that it is tearing me apart?" He looks up, dark pink liquids resting in the corners of his eyes.

"Perhaps all you need to say is... Mom I remember, and I've got to do what I've got to do." Ceres smiled. "And, also that you appreciate any support she gives."

"That's just it Ceres.. I DON'T know what to do... She says I have to let her go, she's got an adopted son now, and apparently another guy that cares about her... But I can't that in and of itself would be the end of me... I can more then wait for her, and I will till the end of time, but she holds my heart captive with no hope of escape ever..." one of the pink tears slipping down his cheek.

"Then fight for her Surion. Draw your sword, and do battle." Ceres said in a manor of figurative speech. "But, at the same time you've got to learn to let go, and let sleeping dragons be... So that if he wins you are prepared."

"She disappeared once, her memories gone much like mine were but for very different reasons, Ceres, you have no idea how much that almost killed me, I wouldn't sleep, I barely ate, thats when I got Senti, Nani's aunt bonded him to me and it made me pass out.. A few days later in the presence of her mother I broke down from stress and my body took it's first major change, thats when I got my wings... I wouldn't know how to let her go, I just can't" he lifts a hand and brushes the tears away.

"Letting go is one of those trails that turn a kid into an adult." Ceres said a tear slipping down her cheek. "Love is never ever kind or forgiving... But at the same time it is the most honest form of emotion. It forces us into unbelieved, and sometimes insurmountable odds."

"Ceres..." he sat up more, a look of resolve in his eyes "I can't and I wont give her up" he pauses "In that my biggest problem is now what to do about mom"

"As far as your mom goes... I've told you start at the beginning it makes the middle less complicated." Ceres put her hand on his shoulder. "As far as the girl she'll come along. You are intertwined, and torn hearts cannot men alone."

"If I leave mom here and move back to Gaia... how do you think she'd take that?" He asks suddenly.

"Worst case scenario... Empty nest syndrome." Ceres laughed half heartily. "Because all kids must grow up, and leave the nest. They must peruse their own lives."

He laughs, "she's been there and done that I didnt live at home when we came here"

"Then it is time for you to do that again... After all you cannot be having sex under her roof..." Ceres rolled her eyes. "Or, at least you shouldn't. If you are old enough to do it, then you are old enough to support yourself..." She huffed. "Now if I followed my own advice, then again at least I don't know when they do because at least it is never in my house." She rambled a bit to ease her discomfort.

He blushes brightly as she says this "Ceres every room I've ever had sex in has been soundproofed... this is an inn, not a house."

Ceres fans herself suddenly finding this room a lot hotter than it probably should have been. "Thank heavens I ask my children to keep their doors open 90 percent of the time. If sex ever happened in my home I don't know what I would do... I'd be scrubbing for weeks." She said looking away from Surion.

"I lost my virginity a long time ago.. I gave it to her... it was an interesting and very .. pleasureful way to start a new years," he wasn't shy to say that and smirked.

Ceres knew how red she was by how hot she'd suddenly become. You will think after 6 six children, and all the sit downs it entailed this topic would be easier and easier to 'deal with'. She reached for her bag hoping for an answer. "Erm... Hrm... Umm... Ohh... Ahh..." Everything started with trouble, and couldn't be finished. Embarrassment was evident.

Despite how he felt this made him laugh softly. He was watching her reaction as he spoke.

Ceres gave up finding nothing in her bag that was off use. She took a deep breath trying to calm herself down. "I, I..." She cleared her throat and took another breath. "I really don't know how we arrived at this topic." She said flustered. "I cannot even being to fathom having sex after 450 years of abstinence... It down right scares me... and yet you, you young people do it like it's, it's..." She threw up her hands. "Like it is a necessity."

"Sometimes it is, but anyways.... " he sighs "I guess I have a LOT of decisions to make... i don't know how I'm going to make them, but I remember everything, she gave me it all back," he sighs.

"Life is full of decisions... Sometimes at the moment you make them they will seem the worst possible thing you could have done, but you mustn't let yourself be led to that decision. Everything in time is made understandable." Ceres said as she closed her eyes. It was time to apologize to the lil guy on her shoulder. She was surprised he hadn't gone to hide yet. She went back to searching her bag.

Surion nods, "This is definitely a true fact." He sighs and watches her move to dig into the bag. "But decisions are also a fact of life, and mine is if i tell mum and if I move back to Gaia or not."

"I can only give advice... Not make decisions for you." Ceres said as she pulled out a sandwich container. Her eyes were open again as she prepared the treat for the lil one. "Where is your sibling?"

"I dont think it would be a good decision to leave to anyone else really." Surion admits.

Senti chitters and looks towards the sleeping red dragonette across the room.

"I appreciate you letting me use your eyes." Ceres says softly. "Eat your fill bill try to leave him a lil for when he wakes up." She smiles and rubs the top of his head before setting the container in her lap.

"Unfortunately life's choices need to be made by the persons life it involves... Those around said person can offer guidance, assistance, and a damn good ear." Ceres chuckled as she looked over at Surion. "And, when you have an 'oops' or a really shitty day a pat on the back always helps."

Senti's chittering increased and then stopped completely as his little paws tore apart the meat.

"A damn good ear is something I can always use, it's been a whirlwind of a week especially with all my memories back," he takes a deep breath.

"I'm a little of everything except a sex counselor and an emotional mess." Ceres said with a wink. "I hope you are feeling a little better... Your mother was really worried about you." She would have gotten up to hug him, but currently her lap was occupied by Senti.

"I do feel a bit better, not really many people I confide in or talk to here, I'm rather secretive in this world... you kinda have to be." he makes a face.

"I appreciate the fact that you trust me enough to confide with me." Ceres smiles. "I feel as if you are not only a good friend, but a family member." She sets the bowl on the bed for Senti to finish up the snack there. She stands up. "Just remember you can call on me anytime. And, if life ever gets to hectic my homes always open." She said as she made her way towards him to give him a hug.

"Only a few people I confide in, one is an object of my puzzle at the moment, one I think is confused and sorting her own heart out an is also a part of this puzzle you are another I feel able to talk to," he quiets watching Senti for a moment then turns his head to watch her approach.

Ceres hugs him like she would a son, brother, or other close sibling. "Puzzles in the beginning always make the picture look jumbled, but in the end the picture you see is the reward in itself."

Surion listens to these words for a time and then nods in agreement. "You're right," he looks up at her glad she had come at his mother's call.

Ceres takes a step back, and smiles for a moment. Her smile, however, fades when she realizes how much time she has spent 'getting the mail'. One of three things could be happening with Natalia: she could still be looking for that perfect spot, be taking a nap in that perfect spot, or have given up all together. In any case she hoped someone had an eye on her. She hadn't planned on being gone that long.

His brow furrows seeing her expression. "Are you ok Ceres?" He asks her without moving.

"I don't know..." Ceres said it so calmly it was enough to cause alarm. She moved to her bag, and quickly found her mirror. "I left Natalia back at home to find a really good hiding spot... At the time I was thinking I would only be gone a few minutes..."

"Oh dear, you better get to her then, thats definetaly important." He motions the mirror in her hand.

"I'm sorry to cut this so abruptly... I wouldn't worry all that much if she could see." Ceres says as she chews on her lips for a moment. "Don't hesitate to call on me again." She gives Surion another quick hug before vanishing. She didn't think to collect the dishes she had left in the hall or on the bed.

Surion attempted to return the quick hug but was a touch slow, once she was gone he just turned his chair back to the Glitchen continuing to think.

Natalia's 'Gift'

----

Natalia felt around for what she felt would be the perfect hiding spot. Despite finding what she thought was a good spot she never stayed in it for long. She became fidgety when Ceres didn't return right away.

Natalia couldn't recall hearing any of her siblings inside the house, and for her that seemed out of place. There was always at least one person. Finding a perfect hiding space wasn't really a concern anymore... Finding someone was.

Knowing the way around the house Natalia searched every room hoping someone would say her name, or that she would even hear a sound. When there was only silence she headed straight for the front door.

Natalia didn't care that it was against the rules to open the door. Or, that that it was also against the rules to go outside without mom, dad, or one of the siblings. She just wanted to find someone...

Natalia hesitated for a moment even though her mind was already made up. However, her plans changed. She couldn't go out there alone, Kiwi needed to come with her. She headed back inside to track her toy down.

Kiwi in hand now Natalia had all she needed for exploration. She didn't know what turns she made because after awhile they all seemed the same in the unfamiliar area.

"This way-" The wind whispered. "Natalia."

Natalia didn't recognize the voice, but then again there were still many friends left to make on the island. She turned and headed the direction of the voice.

As Natalia headed towards the voice she felt as if the wind had taken her hand. She didn't know how far she'd gone for she had never really been outside of the house unless it was in her parents or siblings care.

"Natalia-" The wind again whispered as he ghosted across her tiny body making her shiver. "You know how important you are?"

Natalia stopped suddenly. That was a question she'd never been asked. Having thought for a moment she wasn't sure how to answer. She knew that her parents called her special, and that her everyone loved her. But, important. "I am loved." Was all she could say.

"Loved, yes. Adored, maybe." The wind whispered trying to open the girls eyes even if she didn't understand or had never heard those words before. "But, important- most certainly."

Natalia didn't understand in the slightest what the wind meant, or what she was feeling. She felt a bit light in the head, and a flutter in her chest.

"Let me open your eyes... Show you your future."

Natalia wasn't sure if she had heard that aloud or if she had heard it in her mind. But, suddenly she tingled. She clamped her eyes out of fear of what was happening. She didn't understand what she had to be fearful of, but she was.

"Relax-"

What was it with that voice. Natalia wanted to demand, but her own voice was gone. This terrified her even more. Finally she opened her eyes. Confused, she rapidly blinked her eyes. Was it real or her imagination.

"It is real." Said the wind as it read her thoughts. "And, it will all be yours in time." Again it ghosted itself over her flesh.

Natalia didn't know if her voice had returned or not, and at the moment she didn't want to find out. Less scared than previous, but still confused she was now becoming curious. All the things she could see. It was amazing. She hadn't realized yet that her body had changed.

"For this moment-" The wind said softly. "I wish to ask a favor of you." It just knew somehow that it had already won her over regardless if she was still a bit frightened by the fact of age, and site.

"Kiwi all I have." Natalia said with an instant frown. To her this wasn't worth having to give up her Kiwi. Kiwi after all was her best friend. She pulled Kiwi against her chest protectively, and that was when she realized the mounds. "I big!"

"Yes, you are big." The wind picked up strands of Natalia's hair as it whispered in her ear. "Now, about that favor." It swirled around Natalia's body that clung to the toy. "I don't want your friend." It said in soothing tones there were near haunting.

"I- I not have nothing else." Natalia said trying not to stutter, and to remove sounding brave. She didn't want to let on that she was beginning to be frightened by the actions of what ever it was... Because it certainly wasn't acting like wind.

"This favor will allow me to give you something." It said firmly in annoyance, yet calmly enough so that Natalia wouldn't run. "Something you don't even have to know that you have."

"Sound easy enough." Natalia mumbled still kinda frightened. But, at least it didn't want her to give up Kiwi. However, it did get her to thinking. What could it want to give her that she wouldn't even know she had it.

Tears streamed down Natalia's face as her body chilled over and her insides bubbled. She suddenly didn't want to accept the fact that it wanted a favor. It wasn't worth it. 'Stop it.' She wanted to scream out, but her voice was again drown out into nothingness.

Finally the wind died down, to were she could run. She didn't know what had happened, but she did know she didn't like those feelings. As she ran she realized that she was becoming a little girl again who couldn't see at all. But, that was fine because she as away from it. She hoped she never had to face it again...She didn't even care to give it a second thought on where it had gone, or why it had stopped speaking to her.

Natalia
After mommy left I got left alone. I have never been alone. I don't remember why, but I went looking for someone. That is why I went outside...

I didn't mean to go so far. I was only following that voice I heard.

I honestly don't know how I found my way back home again... But, I don't ever want to leave it again. I didn't know it was so big past the farm.

I thought the world was suppose to be my friend, but now I'm beginning to wonder. Why didn't mommy tell me there were scary things out there.

I don't like the person I met today... If it was even a person at all. I was big, and could see. But, I couldn't see what was speaking to me.

And, whatever it was it wanted me to have something as a favor to it. As long as I didn't have to give up Kiwi I was okay with that, but then... I got all chilly and hot at the same time.

I'm so scared... I never ever want to hear it again since I couldn't see it at all.

I think I'll be alright tomorrow... I'm just worked up is all.

Ceres
I'm not one to read my children's diaries, journals, or the like. I've always been on a very good, open basis with them. There hasn't ever been a time when I didn't know what was going on. And, even if they didn't tell me right then I could pick up on it, and eventually I'd find out.

But, since I got back from seeing Surion Natalia hasn't been right. Somethings just been off. I mean she seems to be acting, or at least trying to act like her typical self. I was beginning to wonder what she'd gotten herself into until I noticed her journal was left open.

Now, I know I shouldn't have because those are private. And, while I may know just about if not all of what goes on around here I don't always get into their personal feelings. If they want to tell me that is one thing, but then if that was the case would what journals, diaries, and the like be for.

And, my goodness how I ramble when I'm frustrated. Back to the point of that open diary. It was Natalia's... I still don't know what happened but certainly something is up.

I just know the island is up to something. I just don't know what. I am so angry with myself that I could... I could... I don't know what I could do, but at this moment I feel like a terrible parent. I Just know the island is up to something, and it is never up to anything good.

I just don't understand how Natalia got left alone. Even when I leave without saying a word to anyone someone is always around for her. Why not this time. I am really beating myself up over this.

And, I cannot really say anything to her because then she'll know that I went nosing through her things... Even if it wasn't on purpose. For now though I'll keep it to myself even if it eats me from the insides out.

Rhine's Breakup

----

Life as Rhine knew it was on a downward slope with his divorce being finalized. He didn't want to be home (alone) or with his mom (mobbed by siblings). To him it didn't seem that there was anywhere else to go but work.

Currently Rhine was taking a fifteen and enjoying a cup of coffee. His cafe couldn't make a fancy cup of Joe in 31 flavors... It was just average, but a good average. Just a little sugar and cream and it was just right.

Rhine sighed thinking back to Jasmines words... 'Things just aren't what they use to be. I've fallen out of love.' He never thought his flower would leave him. Perhaps a break was a bad thing...

Surion had by now settled back into life in Gaia, Now that he could remember everything, things didn't seem to feel so... lost. The only thing that still wasn't normal was the lack of Nani 's presence. On his Harley the male parked near a diner and dismounted the bike pulling his helmet off. He wasn't wearing his cloak today, but his dragonettes were ever present as they appeared from the depths of the saddle bags.

Rhine rubbed the back of his neck as he jerked himself from memory lane. It was a lane he didn't need to be traveling. The pain was still to fresh. He stood up and grabbed the half empty cup. At the moment he thought going back to work seemed like a good idea.

The male's long dark blue and silver streaked hair fell as normal half covering his face as he walked into the diner and looked around the shop. He could of been looking for someone but not finding them he takes a deep breath.

Rhine looked around and noticed that all the servers were currently busy with one thing or another. He was looking to get busy and this was his change. "Welcome friend," he said with a smile as he grabbed a menu. "This way." He motioned for the other to follow him.

Rhine had messy yellow and green hair that was shoulder length and looked as if it had a mind of its own. His eyes were large and green, and his body that of a magazine model. He was dressed fairly nice in a white button up shirt, and black dress pants. However, he did not wear shoes. What made him stand out of the most was his ear fins and tail... He defiantly had dragon in him.

Surion followed but a brow raised, the male seemed familiar but he wasn't sure the name. "Don't see many dragonkind these days..." he muses aloud, but not silently.

"Well your in luck. This establishment has two dragons. We co own. I cook, and she plays the violin." He smiled as he sat the menu on the table. "Name's Rhine and it looks as if I'll be both your server and your cook... Unless someone frees up." He sat out some napkins and silverware.

"Rhine... name rings a bell" he settles into a chair his tail lazily curling around the legs as he picks up the menu but doesn't yet open it as he watches the other male and the dragonettes settle onto another chair at the table.

"Cannot say I really get around," Rhine said as he watched the other curiously. Most people when they came to a cafe at least opened the menu. "Perhaps you know one of my 7 siblings..."

"Seven siblings huh... maybe I do... but not sure... are they dragonkind as well?" he still hadn't opened the menu though he was still holding it with one hand, his opposite hand waving at the jaguar patterned dragonette to quiet him.

"The one that co-owns the place with me is of dragonkind," Rhine chuckled. "The rest of my siblings are pretty diverse. Even our mother and father is unique." He tired not to focus his attention on his unopened menu.

"Hmmm," Surion nods turning his head to the menu, Rhine didn't really seem all that forthcoming on information. He opened it his eyes skimming the contents. "Most unique person I've met thus far travels using mirrors."

"My entire family travels via the use of mirrors," Rhine said as he pulled out a order pad, and a pen. He was happy to see that the other had finally opened the menu. He knew that making customers happy was most important. And, that secondly it didn't hurt to get to know them if they became a regular... But before know he was beginning to wonder if the young man was ever going to order.

"Okay then a plate of sandwich meats for Senti and Kuyl.... Don't ask me Ceres got them started on that one... and I'll have a steak seared lightly on both sides just enough to hold the blood in and a glass of orange juice." His eyes hadn't looked up even once as he spoke.

"Well after eight kids my mother has learned to carry damn near everything in that bag of hers. I bet she still has each and every baby blanket in there and a pack of band aids just in case we fall down," He said as jotted down the order and took a few notes on the details. He wondered for a moment how anyone could drink orange juice with steak. "Alright then," he smiled as he turned around, "I'll get right on it."

Surion folds the menu shut again offering it up to Rhine "thanks" he nods and pushes his bangs over one pointy ear.

Rhine didn't turn back around but knew that the menu had been held up. He grabbed it and kept walking. It was half way to the kitchen that he realized Surion had mentioned his mothers name... He really hadn't thought much of it with their casual conversation and thus his casual reaction. He decided he'd just ask how he knew his mother when he delivered the order. He dropped the menu back off at the reception area before headed towards the cooks area.

Surion watches Rhine for a moment and then turns his attention to the dragonette who had not stopped chittering to find out what the hell the lil guy wanted.

Shortly after Rhine had gone into the kitchen a waitress had brought Surion a drink. She had other tables, so she purposely came off as a little less than friendly.

Rhine came from the kitchen about 25 minutes later. He had everything taken care of so that if he lingered at the young mans table nothing would go haywire. He was flawless as he moved across the room holding three plates on one arm.

"Here we go," Rhine said with a smile. He proceeded to repeat the order as he sat each plate down. "Anything else?"

Surion glanced at Kuyl and Senti as the pair almost seriously pounced the plates hungrily before looking up "I think I"m ok for the moment, and they seem quite content as well" he tips his head momentarily towards the dragonettes.

"Not that I asked but you didn't say how you knew my mother," Rhine said as he watched the dragonettes. He couldn't help but to smile. It was amazing how something so simple could go such a long way.

"Your mother? I didn't know I knew her" one brow raises in curiosity not realizing the woman he referred to he'd actually mentioned while he was ordering for his dragonettes.

"You said that Ceres' got your dragonettes into each lunch meat... That lady is my mother," he said studying the other but trying not to make it to obvious.

"Oh really? Wow, this is a small world... I met Ceres at the GMFC building, she and her little one and her mate" he nods as he speaks, his free hand picking up the utensils.

"Natalia is my sister, as for Sky... He helped raise us all. I guess we can consider him as a father because he did protect us, but more so to us he was just one of us," He said as he noticed the other was ready to eat. "I'll let you get to your meal."

"I got the impression your mother loves him, to me that makes him her mate. And the fact he cares about you all is in fact important." He pauses and watches Rhine "thanks, the meal looks good" which had to sound somewhat odd since the meat was near raw.

"I along with six others grew up with Sky being an Equine. We did not see much of him, but we did know he was there." Rhine smiled. "I am thankful my mother does finally have him, as a person, to grow old with."

"Thank you. Let me know if we we can help you with anything else," Rhine said after he had heard the compliment the other had given."

Surion nods and cuts into the juicy meat. "I shall." he digs into the meal thinking about the conversation he was having with Rhine.

As Rhine headed back to the kitchen he was met by a fiery red head. It had to be his sister because of apparent dragon features. Past the fact that she is dragon it is hard to distinguish that she is in fact a girl. The conversation they are having seems rather casual.

By the time the dragonettes were done, both were sedate and happy, and lightly dozing next to each other on the chair beside Surion. Surion himself had finished all but the bone of the meat. He was swirling the last of the juice around his cup, a lot was on his mind. Everything from the conversation thus far with Rhine, to his decision to return to Gaia full time wishing it'd all gone differently.

"Seems you've got as much on your mind as me," Rhine said as he slid the bill onto the table. Though he had not returned he had made sure to have a waitress check up on him occasionally. "If you have the time you should really stick around... My sister is about to preform. They say classical can sooth ones soul."

Surion glances up "Oh... yeah I have some stuff on my mind, my life has changed a lot over the last couple years, in directions I would rather it hadn't. I still have to figure out what to do now, besides hope and wait...." he pauses contemplating the performance in question "probably does, not really my style of music though."

"Unfortunately life's life..." Rhine said as as he collected the dirty dishes. "It seems everyone is having their fair share off issues as of late." He didn't want to pour his current problems onto the other since he really didn't know him. "Shame you won't be staying... She's really something."

"Oh? whats been eating at your soul right now?" he was more curious about this then music at the moment.

"I'm dealing with a divorce and an empty bedroom." Though Rhine said it he decided at the moment he wouldn't divulge details. Even if he knew the other was curious he didn't know how curious. "Honestly, don't know which is worse."

Surion nods slowly and thinks about what the male has said and then sighs. "I don't know the divorce part but suppose I can relate to the empty bedroom... For me it's a different story though, my mate isnt with me for the reason I was gone for more then a year.. I couldnt remember her or anything about my past... I only just got my memories back a little while ago... thanks to her."

"You mean- thanks to my mother?" Rhine asked as the tip of his tail curled. "She's a miracle worker... To bad she couldn't work one for me." He chuckled.

He laughs a bit sitting up more "Kinda, she started me out, but the full return of memories I was missing was thanks to Nani.. But your mom played a huge part in that, cause if she hadn't pointed me in the right direction I would never have written a letter to Nani."

Rhine smiled. "Well, at least you some what got what you wanted in the end." He gave one of those sighs that altered that he just felt empty inside. "I don't know though if I would want to forget but anything has got to be better than how I feel."

"Not really, I still have an empty bedroom" he leans on the table "And I know she's off with another guy, and an adopted son... I suppose in a way it's kinda the same... but I can tell you it's not a feeling I'd wish on anyone, some of me regrets learning my past... but she'll never leave my heart... Ya know?" he motions the empty seat across him with his hand the light shining off his finger with the simple golden band.

Rhine only sat because he was offered. In return he offered a lopsided slightly goofy smile. It was somewhat forced, but it could be forgiven considered his current disposition.

"I meant you got what you wanted because you got your memory. Perhaps sooner or later you will get your girl back." He tried to remain positive. Although at this moment he really didn't know if the world was handing out positiveness...

"Debateable... but ... so whats your story... why is your bed empty?" he leans against the table and decides he wants some water now that his orange juice glass is empty, his eyes shifting color as he fills the glass.

"We've had our share of problems since the get go... Well it's actually me that is the issue. I'm generally romantic, and flirty... Add alcohol and well..." He chuckled weakly almost guiltily. "Anyways, we got through that and I just didn't touch alcohol." He looked at the table and sighed. "I thought we were more than happy. I mean homes just right up stares. She always had me... Whenever-" He looked up at Surion but not at him. "Just one day she said we just didn't have anything in common anymore... And, like that she was gone."

He frowns "Well that sux, truely it does" he sighs, there were very often times he didn't think he'd ever understand the female gender. He lifts his drink sipping it for a moment and thinking.

"So, now... Here I am. The beds empty but the housing area isn't. My sister lives with me." He chuckles. "She is -interesting- and rarely there is a dull moment." He sighed. "But I'm an 'active' person..."

Surion nods "Sounds like you at least have someone around... I hope life takes a turn for the better for you, I know it cannot be fun"

"Turn around... I don't know if I could be so lucky." He sighs as he stands up again. "I could go and get drunk... But, at the same time its just not fulfilling.

"Getting drunk also wont saolve life's problems, you do have to admit this." he watches Rhine stand back up.

"That is why I said -not fulfilling-." Though he sighed he smiled. "Well I better get back to work. Thanks for the ear... I feel at least somewhat better."

He smiles and nods, changing his mind as Rhine walks away and turning to watch the performance.

Drama (AIM PRP)

Parties involved in order of first appearance: keetabirdy, and Kawaii_Hime_Ceres.

----

Keeta had arrived at work that day with a lot on her mind. She was closing and had left Joel with Kael back at the apartment, so at least Joel wasn't one of the issues she had to contend with. Yesterday she had received a reply to the letter she had sent Ceres, but the content of it worried her. There were certainly some things going on, on the island that were more dramatic than usual and Keeta just hoped that everything would be ok.

And of course there was the craziness in her mind surrounding her recent engagement to Kael. It was wonderful and she was happier than she could imagine, but it was hard to get her head around and she was having difficulty deciding what she wanted to do as far as the wedding. Kael was pressuring her to make decisions, but it was so hard! She was grateful that she would have a friend to talk to about it all. Somehow though, she felt like the concerns hinted at in Ceres' letter overshadowed her own.

With a sigh, she set to cleaning some of the dishes in the sink while she waited for customers, trying to clear her mind. It would be a while before the evening crowd showed up, so now all she was waiting for was Ceres.

"Sky, no mater how places we got... I'm always amazed at how people keep up their bathrooms." Ceres said as she swung her feet playfully. She was currently perched on the edge of the sink.

"This is certainly one of the cleaner ones." Sky chuckled. He was happy to see her in a slightly playful mood considering the most recent to-do's in their lives. He helped her down. "Let's get out of her before some lady walks in and thinks we are attempting at doing the unthinkable..."

Ceres nodded her head. "Alright then." Arm and arm she headed to the door of the bathroom so they could exit and enter Keeta's place of business.

Keeta thought she heard voices coming from the bathroom all of the sudden, but she wasn't sure until the door opened. She smiled when she recognized the two voices. Ceres and Sky had come after all. She called to them from her spot behind the bar as she wiped her wet hands on a towel.

"Ceres! Sky! I'm out here."

Ceres waved at Keeta as she put on her best smile. For the moment she wanted to focus on Keeta, and all things positive that involved her friend. "Keeta!"

"Looks like the nights still young, and that we've got a good chance at striking up a decent conversation." Sky grinned as he carefully lead Ceres.

"Well seeing as there's only a sinkful of dishes over there to keep me occupied otherwise, I'd say I'm looking forward to a good conversation," she said to Sky as she leaned forward and hugged her friend.

"Are you ok? The way you sounded in your letter, I was worried..." Keeta said to Ceres, apparently trying to do the same thing, in focusing on her friend and not on herself.

Ceres cleared her throat. "My troubles could fill a roll of parchment... But honestly before I get into that can of worms with what I do know I could really use some good news." She smiled as she returned the hug.

"I can take care of those dishes for you." Sky offered with a motion of his hand. "That will give you ladies a bit of time together before everyone else can everything you've to say to one another..."

"You don't need to do that," Keeta said waving her hand at Sky as she stepped back from the hug.

"It'll give me something to do if it's slow after you two have left. Good news you say....well, you already know that Kael has come back. And I'm so excited! Joel is really happy to have him back. I'm glad he doesn't hold grudges, because he couldn't understand the circumstances behind Kael's disappearance. I only know the bare details. I think he doesn't want me to know what he went though because he doesn't want to lay that burden on me. Anyways, long story short, he was held captive, but managed to escape and come back to us last week. And when he did....well..." Keeta blushed and raised her left hand for their examination. On it sat a small gold band with ornate patterning. It wasn't jeweled, but was still beautiful.

"Oh, good heavens..." Ceres said grabbing Keeta's hand. "When's the date?" All the rest of the news out the window with the news of an engagement. She pulled Keeta's hand to where he could see it. "Isn't it beautiful."

"Not as beautiful as the lady who wears it." Sky chuckled. "Cong-" As Sky stopped they both finished the brief sentence.

Keeta blushed deeper and put her hand down when they were finished examining the ring.

"Thanks...and we haven't set one yet. We're still trying to work out whether we want to do all the elaborate things that generally go with a wedding, or something more simple. I think we've decided we want to have it here at the Casbah either way. I know it's not a traditional place for a wedding, but it's where we met and where much of our "family" is so..." She smiled and shrugged.

"I wish you all the luck in the heavens." Ceres smiled. "You deserve it... To be happy." She sighed contently. "I am sure you could turn this place into a lovely place to have a wedding." She leaned forward and whispered to Keeta. "If you need anything at all, money included, please don't hesitate."

"But Ceres! I...I couldn't..." she said, fidgeting. She was always uncomfortable taking advantage of other people's generosity.

Ceres straightened up. "A proper lady shouldn't consider any less than a perfect wedding. Especially a lady who hasn't had a wedding before." She smiled. "You can always use the isle as a place to vacation... I've been meaning to build a hut on the beach." She chuckled.

"I'll mention it to Kael. I know I wouldn't have any objections to the Island, and perhaps he wouldn't feel so...different there, with your diverse family and all. He's not as humaniod looking as he used to be....And of course, if I'm going to be helping out with Natalia, he should get to know her at the very least..." Keeta privately told herself that vacationing on the isle was the most she intended to accept of Cere's hospitality, for the time being at any rate. It wouldn't be a large wedding and she felt she and Kael would be able to cover the costs of things. Having it in the Casbah meant that they wouldn't have to rent a hall, or cater, and if Ceres was offering the island it meant they would be saving money a lot of places.

"Just remember dear... The offers on the table. You are part of our family." Ceres said as her finger idly traced the pattern of the table. "We do not look at each others appearance all that much in detail because that opens the door to finding fault. She chuckled.

Sky put a hand of Ceres' hand. He could easily tell when she was worrying if she was smiling. He then rubbed her back in hopes of comforting her.

Keeta saw Sky's movement and recognized what he was trying to do for Ceres. She frowned slightly in concern and stepped closer.

"So...what's going on that you alluded to in your letter Ceres? Like you said, we're family and I want to help, if I can..."

"It's all a mess... A really big mess." Ceres sighed, and leaned into Sky. She still held her smile as she forced herself to not shed tears. She didn't need anyone really coming onto her 'problems'. "I don't even know where to begin..."

"Begin where it's most comfortable...I just want to help..." Keeta said soothingly, before walking over to a nearby table and pulling out a chair for Ceres.

"Here. Sit down, let me make you some tea." She started heading behind the counter, giving Ceres' shoulder a squeeze as she walked past.

"Rhine is ending his marriage... That is the easiest of the news to swallow." Ceres sighed. Now she really would have to clue Sky in on Natalia... Unless she could drag Rhines situation out (doubtful though). "Not that it hasn't had its share of issues from the get go..."

Sky sat down next to Ceres. He put his hand on her knee. Rubbing it occasionally to try and get her to stay calm. He didn't exactly know what Ceres meant by 'easiest news to swallow'.

Keeta's brow furrowed and she pursed her lips slightly. That news didn't sit well. From what she knew of Rhine, a lack of obligation to a single person might lead to a series of actions that he might regret. Rhine had even flirted with her on the couple times she'd met him...

"That must be really hard for him...do you know what made them decide to end it?" she asked, while filling a kettle with water and starting it to heat on the stove.

"Not really sure... Other than they just grew apart." Ceres sighed as she rubbed her temple. She was starting to feel how stressed she was. "I've gotten over bigger hurtles than this. It is just..." She mumbled incoherently.

Keeta came over to Ceres' side and placed a hand on the shoulder opposite Sky while she was waiting for the water to boil. The kettle would whistle when it was ready. This was beginning to worry her more than before. She had never seen Ceres look so frustrated.

"It's just what?" she asked, trying to make Ceres feel as comfortable as possible. She wanted to throw a questioning glance to Sky, but whatever he saw, so would Ceres, so she forced the desire back and waited for Ceres' response.

"Couldn't things happen one at a time instead of all at once." Ceres was calming down with the added attention of Keeta. "One would think that once your kids are grown they are set in their ways, and well off in the world... You know?"

Sky lifted up the bag they always brought. He knew they had tissues in here somewhere... And, he knew that Ceres would be needing them shortly.

"Something else happened?" Keeta asked gently, trying to keep the surprise out of her voice. She didn't want to agitate Ceres further. As she waited for a response, the kettle began to blow, and she hurried over behind the counter.

"Soothing hot tea coming up!" she said, before returning to Ceres' side a moment later with a tea cup of steaming hot water, and a couple of tea bag choices, not knowing Ceres' preference. She placed them in front of her friend and then returned to her vigil.

"Thank You." Ceres said waving her hand over it to cool it just a touch so it was drinkable. She wrapped her hands around the cup enjoying the warmth. She drew in a breath to calm herself before taking a sip.

"I've see it happen once before... Rhine had a crush when he was around Natalia's age. Then again how can I get into ages. I mean ones one thing and the other is another. But it hadn't been long since Rhine had hatched, and it really hasn't been long since Natalia was born... But, I don't know if dragons mature differently... All the children are just so different."

Ceres' hands were shaky as she took a sip of tea.

Sky having found the tissues sat them on the table. "Take it easy." He said steading her hand.

This hadn't been the kind of topic that she'd been expecting. A childhood crush? What was so worrying about that? That is, if she was understanding what Ceres was trying to say. Her movement from one thought to the next didn't seem to be entirely linear with what she was trying to explain.

"So....Natalia has a crush? Or Rhine?" That could explain the ending of the marriage as well. She hoped she wasn't pressing too hard, but she wanted her friend to get this off her chest so she and Sky could help her in whatever ways they could.

"Natalia, and she won't say who... But I can only guess." Ceres said as she sat the cup down. She was so shaky that she nearly shook the contents out. "I'm a terrible mother... terrible... It is all my fault. I shouldn't have been gone so long. I didn't mean to be."

It was apparent that Sky was as clueless as Keeta even if he tried to not act it. He continued to help Ceres in steadying her hands.

"You are NOT a terrible mother," Keeta said, trying to keep her voice on the fine line, between kindness and firmness. She rubbed Ceres' shoulder, trying to figure out where this anxiety was coming from.

"What's so worrying about a childhood crush?" she asked, making her voice more gentle again.

"Because I know it is the island. I just know. No one goes into the fog except Sky, the children, and myself... And even then none of of us venture in without a purpose." Ceres had tears running down her cheeks. She could no longer contain herself.

"I left her alone. I assumed someone would be there to watch over her while I was out. There hasn't ever been a time there wasn't... I told her I'd be right back and to find the perfect hiding spot." Ceres sucked in a breath and she used the tissues. "How she got out of the house, and past the gate... Oh, I'm a terrible mother... Terrible."

"You-mean-Natalia-went-into-the-fog..." Every word slowly trickled out of Sky's mouth and into the conversation. Now he was beginning to understand why things with Ceres hadn't been right over the past week or so. But, what didn't make since is why Natalia was still the same bubbly child. The fog could do terrible things to a person with uncontrollable fears.

"Oh Ceres..." Keeta bit her lip. She could understand how accidentally leaving her child alone would make her feel like that. Heck, she would feel like that if she had assumed someone was there to watch Joel and there hadn't been. But...it was an accident and Natalia had apparently made it back in one piece...

"But she's ok...you didn't mean to...." she said, trying to reassure Ceres, but Sky's reaction told her this was no normal fog.

"What is the fog you're talking about?" Keeta asked, confused. She didn't mean to draw the conversation away from it's focus, but this seemed like a critical point that she didn't understand. "And how could she have a crush on the island? Wouldn't that be like having a crush on her Kiwi toy?"

Sky new that Ceres wouldn't paint the best of pictures in her current state... Hell in any state you couldn't really paint the best of pictures. The island when it took the form of a 'human' was down right nasty. A disgusting person with good looks who had done horrible, terrible things.

"The island can take the form of a human." Sky said trying to keep his voice as calm as possible. "But, it takes a lot of energy so it isn't something that happens all that often... It really, really has to want something." He chewed on his lips, something he rarely did if at all. "We try and not talk about the acts committed..."

"The fogs no better..." Ceres said trying again to get a sip of tea despite shaky hands. "With the exception it doesn't literately rape people... Just your mind. The fog is to protect my mother who has been turned into a tree... It is a defense mechanism to deter people." Having had a couple sips she sat down her cup again. "If you are not strong enough of heart you will just end up else where on the island... But not after some serious mind torture. That fog uses your fears against you."

Sky sighed as he could only imagine what had happened. He didn't want to think of what could happen, or would happen if the island pursued Natalia.

Keeta's eyes grew wide at this description and tried to picture it in her mind. None of her images were pleasant in nature. She thought she might have heard bits and pieces of the story of the fog and the island before, but nothing that gave her an outright definition like this. And now that Natalia was involved made it frightening, if what she imagined was similar to the real thing. She could understand now why Ceres was so upset.

"You....think it's after Natalia?" she asked quietly, her voice catching slightly.

"Yes..." Ceres said barely above a whisper despite her loud sobs. "And, for whatever the reason no good can come of it." She sighed as she sat down the tissue.

"We'll face it-" Sky said as he wrapped his arms around Ceres' waist. "-together."

Keeta pursed her lips as she thought. There had to be some kind of solution to this...An idea came to mind, but even if it worked, it wouldn't be easy for any involved

"Would she be more protected here?"

"Natalia needs the island as much as the island needs her... It is the ways of every maiden." Ceres took in a couple deep breaths trying to find comfort in Sky's touch. But her fears were just to great, and she was just to angry at herself. There were minor mistakes, and then there catastrophic ones... "And, no mater where I take her on the island the island can get to her."

Sky dug out a couple more tissues, and pocketed the used ones. He didn't know exactly what to say because he was sure what ever thought he had Ceres had already had.

"I'm sorry Ceres. I don't know what else to say. But if I can ever be of any help to you or her, all you have to do is ask...." She tried to comfort her friend, but in her gut she knew that, for the moment at least, her efforts were in vain.

Ceres nodded softly. "All I feel we can do for now is teach her right from wrong, good from evil... But, we must not instill fear into her heart. Courage, and bravery are key factors." She said in dry whisper. All her tears were dispensed. Even if she wanted to cry further she couldn't.

Keeta nodded silently. She would do her best to teach Natalia those things, just like she would do her best to teach Joel. It would be hard to put on a brave face for her though.

"In the mean time I guess I'll have to incorporate the island into my tales. I just always hoped that I wouldn't have to..." Ceres sipped the finally bit of her tea.

Keeta nodded again, letting Ceres think aloud. Incorporating the island into the tales would at least give Natalia some background knowledge about her crush, but couldn't it potentially instill that fear Ceres talked about? She would have to be very tactful and careful if she were to walk that fine line successfully. For the moment, however, Keeta kept her reservations to herself. Ceres already had enough to think about.

"Would you like more tea?" she asked, noticing Ceres finish off what was in her cup. She almost felt she was being insensitive, but what did one do or say to someone in this situation? It's not like Keeta had the power to change anything, so she would just listen and be there however Ceres needed her to be.

"No thank you dear." Ceres finally managed a smile. "We've over come so many hurtles since we've adopted children. And, I suppose this is no time to think less." Her change of heart was sudden, but it was coming from the fact that hse had gotten things off of her chest.

"Hurtles is an understatement..." Sky chuckled.

"Tell me about some of them..."Keeta pressed gently, sensing that talking was helping Ceres to feel calmer.

"Ayisha turns into a tree when she gets over emotional. Aurora acts like a child constantly, although we are working through that..." Ceres had to go through years of memories, and when there was already so much stored it became a little difficult.

"Rhine and Cassara have the largest file of 'oops'." Rhine grinned. "Especially Rhine with his charisma.

"You've hinted before at some of the difficulties he's had with that. Heck, I've felt the effects of it some myself." Keeta blushed slightly remembering the two times she had encountered the oldest son."

"Don't ask me where I went 'wrong' with Rhine... I couldn't tell you. He was the first dragon/human I raised, and the first male." Ceres grinned. "Maybe it was all the girls he was around. Rhine and Cass at the time were the youngest of them... And, Cass didn't come till later."

"Rhine always favored Tinker... And, really when it came down to it Rhine found all the rest of his sisters to be noisy. Thus he avoided him." Sky said putting his hand on top of Ceres'.

"I wouldn't say you ever went wrong with him. He just is who he is..." She shrugged. If Joel turned out like that, sure it wouldn't make her the happiest mother on the planet, but she would still love him and accept him for whatever he turned out to be.

Ceres chuckled. "He is who he is... As is the rest of my children. They are who they are..." She sighed heavily. That even meant Natalia. She half feared that this was is it... That the end of the 'curse' involved non other than Natalia herself. "Maybe the islands plan will backfire..." She said allowed as a finished thought.

"Like how? And you you even have an idea of what his plans are, except that they apparently involve Natalia...?"

"Like how? And do you even have an idea of what his plans are, except that they apparently involve Natalia...?"

"I don't know how or, even his plans..." Ceres traced the rim of the tea cup. Her eyes became expressionless as she stared blankly at the way. "But... The island has a way of evening the field even against itself. It is the sense of balance that is inevitable."

"Can you give me an example? I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean." Keeta frowned slightly. This was going to be a much harder problem to deal with if she didn't understand the 'rules' that went along with it.

"It is the most basic law of any universe. For every action there is an equal reaction." Ceres stopped her finger from circling the tea cup. "That is why over time on the island the island became so dependent on its maiden. The maiden balances out the island." She hoped that made since. It was so much easier to understand when were born into it, or had lived it for long periods of time.

"Hmm...." Keeta said as she thought, her gaze becoming slightly distant as she mulled over all Ceres had told her.

Ceres closed her eyes for a moment, and yawned. "I suppose though we will just have to let this run its course." She put her hand on Keeta. "Let not my troubles trouble you dear... You have a wedding to plan."

"Heh, indeed. I don't suppose you'd be interested in helping me with that? Maybe it would be a way to take your mind off of some of what is going on?" Keeta studied the grain on the table, tracing her fingers along some of the lines. She wasn't sure if her request was unreasonable considering Ceres' current circumstances.

"It would be an honor to help you out with your wedding plans." Ceres smiled, and put her hand on top of Keeta's. "Though it almost seems as if you've got most if not all of it planned out in your mind." She giggled.

"If you'll excuse me... I'm going to go stretch my legs." It was Sky's excuse to get away from the ladies before they started acting like silly adolescent girls.

"Aww....you don't want to stay and help Sky?" Keeta asked, giving him a slight wink, trying to lighten the mood.

"No... not really. The thought of makeup, and frilly dresses just isn't appealing... Really I don't understand why humans, or those resembling wear clothes." Sky mumbled the last bit, and slipped from his spot.

Ceres giggled. "So that what is underneath remains a mystery... We don't exactly like hanging everything out for public view." She touched his hand as he left.

"I think it's something that's ingrained in us from birth, culturally speaking, because in some cultures it's not a problem to flaunt what you've got. Mainly though I think the custom dates back to Adam and Eve if we're getting technical here..." She shrugged and gave him a little wave as he wandered away.

"I feel so inadequately equipped when it comes to those years of my children's lives." Ceres chuckled. "I've never dated, married, or had sex... I do suppose I've held a somewhat steady relationship."

Keeta raised a slight eyebrow at this revelation about Ceres. She could certainly check two out of the three things on that list and now she was looking at accomplishing the third. After a long moment, she quietly said one word:

".....Why?"

"Why?" Ceres asked Keeta. She didn't understand what there was to explain. It seemed pretty simple when she said she hadn't dated, married, or had sex... What was there to explain. She smiled regardless of the confusion.

"Not why do you feel ill equipped..." she said slowly, trying to clarify, but also not say something embarrassing.

"Why have you never done any of those things..."

"My mother... Ceres closed her eyes slowly as she spoke those two words. She sighed heavily as she opened her eyes once more. "She wanted me to be opposite of what a maiden was before her. She was only different because she fell in love, and for her love she was raped and turned into what she is today... So she instilled fear, and morals in me."

"Oh..." Keeta paused and looked down again, adequately chastened. "I suppose I'm not a very moral person then, by your mother's standards....I can already say I've done most of those..." She blushed slightly. "But I suppose Joel is evidence of that..."

"Keeta my mothers standards are a bit hard to understand unless you know what a maidens purpose is. A maiden is basically no more than breeding stock. A maiden goes through the mirror with the sole purpose to seduce a man. That maiden is no more than 15, 16 years of age." Ceres sighed softly. "Once she is pregnant, she slips back through the mirror. The mirror is then destroyed so that man cannot follow, and she cannot return. It is a cycle that my mother broke, and I am sure in some way her mother had a hand in it."

"Forgive me...I shouldn't have said that. Sometimes I think before I speak or understand....and I'll just stop now before I embarrass myself further. I don't mean to assume anything about you, as assuming is something I hate doing, yet...I seem to do it all the time where you are concerned...." Keeta sighed and slumped in her chair in frustration.

"Keeta... I corrected you because I don't want you to think less about yourself. Remember what I told you. Children are our blessings. They make us correct ourselves, and our ways." Ceres smiled, and hugged Keeta.

"Thanks Ceres." She hugged her back and smilled a little.

"Maybe tonight isn't the best night for wedding planning. I think we're both a little high strung right now...I know I am at any rate...and I didn't bring any samples or magazines to look at....Would you mind terribly if we put that part off until a little later. Like I said Kael and I haven't even set a date yet, so there's really no rush."

"I completely understand Keeta..." Ceres said straightening up in her chair. "Do you think I should ask Sky to marry me? Because sex scares me..." She couldn't help but to turn hot in the cheeks.

"I didn't even know you were entertaining the thought," Keeta said smiling a little wider, but her voice gentle.

"If you care about him enough then I would say yes. And the fact that he's Natalaia's father makes it particularly fitting. It doesn't have to be about sex, unless both of you want it to be...And scary...yes...I think everyone is scared their first time. I know I was..."

"I just wonder why he considers me over all the other mares he's done." Ceres said in half interested tones. "I mean I haven't got one of those big rears, or dainty little prances... Mater of fact I don't know what I've got going."

"Could it be that you're the mother of his child and that the others have not been half as interesting to him? Looks aren't everything you know. I've learned that lesson a thousand times over."

"He's had plenty of children via biology..." Ceres tried not to looked irked by it. She didn't know why, but recently it had started bothering her. "We've just always been side by side."

Keeta shugged and patted her friend's shoulder. "You should be happy that he's chosen you over all of them, even if you don't know why. I can't get in his head, and no man is the same. Do you think I assumed Kael would want me, a single mom with an illegitimate son?" She held up a hand to stave off any protests from Ceres at that last comment.

"I'm not trying to put myself down, it's just the true circumstances of the matter, and yet here I am with an engagement ring on my finger. There's no way of knowing why people pick one person over another. They just do."

"By his side I've watched his previous mates, and previous children grow old and die. This will be a rather different situation for us. For once our children will out live us." Ceres said with a sigh. "We seem content enough to call each other our own, and to sleep in the same bed. But, still some days it is like something is missing. Something I am to scared to obtain."

"What exactly is that? The thing we've already discussed or something else?" Keeta meant sex 'by the thing they had already discussed, but for some reason she felt slightly uncomfortable saying the word around Ceres.

"If only I knew." Ceres said gently. She returned to letting her finger circle the tea cup. "I don't know... Maybe I am destined to try and obtain the unobtainable."

"Why would it be unobtainable for you? You're not doing it with the same purpose in mind as the other maidens."

"I've spent so much living in fear, that the fear is a reality." Ceres began tapping on the edge of the tea cup. "And, no mater how much I want it... It will always be just enough out of reach, taunting me." She sighed contently. "I suppose though I've done a good enough job considering he sleeps in my bed. Granted it is on the complete opposite side, and fully dressed."

"You keep saying it's out of reach. Have you ever sat down with HIM and had this discussion. About trying? Maybe he wants to as well and would be willing to try with you and be gentle and considerate about all those things you fear. But, as Henry Ford once said: 'Whether you think you can or cannot, you are right.' " Keeta shrugged. This was a decision Ceres had to make for herself.

"Over and over again." Ceres sighed. "It has taken all this time since Natalia's birth for us to come to this much of an agreement. I still act like some old clam if he so much as looks at me 'funny', or even thinks to kiss me in public."

"Well if it's only your own barriers holding you back, there isn't much I can do, except be here and support you with whatever decision you make." Keeta said, touching her friend's shoulder.

"All I can suggest is to continue with baby steps. If this is something you really want to do, you need to let your guard down, and I'm not suggesting all at once, but a little bit at a time. You said kissing you in public was hard for you? It seems like one of the more potentially innocent things you'll encounter. Agree to let him kiss you in public if he wishes, It will feel strange at first, but don't fight it or you'll make it harder on yourself.

"When you've become accustomed to that and it starts to feel natural and right, take another step. Perhaps being less than "fully clothed" when you go to bed. These are only suggestions, but they're all I can think of to tell you."

Ceres nodded her head. "You've been all to kind." Her mind drifted to thoughts of Sky and herself. He was one of the most kind and gentle persons one could hope to find. She sighed softly. Despite his 'go get it' attitude he had decided to let all that go. To put it behind him, and to focus. He still had his duties as head stallion... But, his heart was Ceres'. And, Ceres knew that. That was why it was so easy to find comfort in him. Sky was her eye in the storm. Love was the storm, and in the middle of it was him.

"I'm to old fashion to air my 'dirty laundry' out in the open." A grin that was a little to goofy formed on her face. "But perhaps putting on a little something in the bedroom..." She gave Keeta a look that couldn't be placed. "But, I don't have any bra's, panties, or anything that could remotely be considered 'sexy'."

"Well if you want, when we go shopping for things for the wedding, we could make a side trip for items of that nature if you wish," Keeta said, her eyes showing a little bit of excitement at the thought of taking Ceres on a shopping trip of that nature.

"Well, Keeta I am sure we wouldn't just be going for me." Ceres grinned despite her blush. "I mean after all you do have a honey moon in your near future."

"This is true...." Keeta said, her smile widening at the fact that Ceres seemed ok with the idea of such a shopping excursion.

"I don't know why, but I feel as if I can be very open with you when it comes to personal matters. I am not even this open with my sisters." Ceres wasn't looking anywhere in particular. Even if she had wanted to she couldn't. With Sky's leaving so had his eyes, and his views of this place. Shat was starting to feel vulnerable.

"Well I'm honored that you feel you can be that open with me. I'll do my best to be worthy of your trust." Keeta started to notice Cere's distracted espression and unfocused gaze.

"Are you ok?"

"Honestly... I'm find, just becoming a bit concerned out of habit. I haven't had a set of eyes since Sky walked off. I am sure he didn't do it intentionally." Ceres said with a smile as she looked to Keeta. She was able to do this via her memory from when she had been able to see, and also Keeta's voice.

"Are you sure you wouldn't feel comfortable using mine?" Keeta asked, concern entering her voice as well. She had offered before, but Ceres had always turned her down.

"I don't not like borrowing peoples line of vision without permission." Ceres smiled. "But, if you don't mind... Then yes, I'd like to use your site until Sky returns."

It took several moments for Ceres' eyes to adjust. She made she to take in every little detail of what Keeta was looking at while she could. Down to what would even seem minuscule.

Keeta waited, expecting something like the sensations she was slowly getting used to when conversing with the Porcelin people she had met through the GMFC. After a moment though, she felt nothing.

"Are you seeing anything?" she asked, concerned that perhaps it wasn't working.

"Yes, I can see through your eyes." Ceres smiled. "Thank you." She was starting to look a lot less tense now that she had a pair of eyes.

"Well good," Keeta said, chuckling. "I was thinking I'd notice some change in feeling, or be able to notice in some way, but I don't notice it at all. Interesting..."

"I do not allow myself to use this ability unless it is offered, and even then with permission I do not go prying into peoples memories." Ceres patted Keeta's hand. "Thank you."

"You can do that?" Keeta asked, clearly surprised. She hadn't realized that Ceres had an ability of that nature.

"You do know that Keeta." Ceres grinned. "Remember you allowed me once before so I could paint a mural on Joel's nursery wall."

"Oh...right," Keeta said, blushing, and feeling a bit foolish.

"Keeta..." Ceres said as she dug around in her bag. "I wanted you to have a lil something before I go for the evening." She knew it was hardly a lil something even as she spoke. She as the impressively wrapped, slender package on the counter.

"But Ceres, you didn't need to get me anything..." Keeta said, blushing deeper. She eyed the package, having no idea what was inside it.

"It is one of the greatest gifts I can give you, and one I am afraid I cannot replace it." Ceres said gently as she pushed the package forward. "Never let it fall into anyone else's hands... Trespassing on my island isn't tolerated. Never, ever shatter it."

Keeta drew in a sharp breath as she realized what the package contained. She ran her fingers gently over the smooth surface of the wrapping.

"But you didn't have to. I told you not to strain yourself on my behalf." She knew it must have cost Ceres a fair bit of her resources and energy and she was touched beyond words that she had done this for her. Keeta looked up towards Ceres, wondering if her vision was suddenly blurred by the tears that were blurring Keeta's.

"Thank you so much...."

"I wanted to do it. It was a pleasure Keeta." Ceres said gently. "Don't hesitate to just pop in, and not just when you are in trouble. It is also good for mail. You just set the letter on the mirror, and as long as your heart knows where it is going it will end up in the right bathroom sink." She chuckled. "Makes you double check your sink..."

Ceres wouldn't openly say what it had cost her. She herself had connected many mirrors, and she knew that when time Natalia would keep those portals open. But, she would be 'green', and stronger... She softly softly.

"I still can't thank you enough....You'll have to teach me how to use it properly....Should I be checking my sink for mail too?" she asked, trying to keep her tone humorous.

"Yes, please... Unless you expect me to start sending water proof mail." Ceres grinned as she closed up her bag. "Please for know... Kael may only come when he is with you. Joel, however, is always welcome."

"I don't think Kael would come without me anyways, but I'll pass along the message." She frowned slightly inside as she wondered whether Kael would object to her having such free access to the island when he did not. She didn't think he would, but....maybe it was better not to tell him about the mirror.

"Your heart Keeta is the key. As long as your will is strong that mirror will take you through any mirror that exists. I'd suggest standing in your living room, and trying to go to your bathroom..." Ceres grinned. "A word of caution I end up in tubs, on toilets, on sinks... Even a time or to in a closet. Not everyone keeps a mirror in a simplistic place." She winked.

"I'll keep that in mind....I definitely plan on practicing with it at home before I try anything more complicated...." She finally fingered the edge of the wrapping and started to pull it open, so she could get a good look at the mirror. When she finally got the wrapping off, she gasped slightly. "Ceres, it's beautiful!"

Ceres didn't feel that words could express properly what a hug could. She stood up and wrapped his arms around Keeta. "You are like a sister to me... Don't forget that." She finally whispered after a time."

"And you to me..." Keeta said quietly, hugging her back, being careful not to bump the mirror in the process.

"I'll have to make a special case for it or something, so that my klutziness doesn't bring it to an untimely doom," she said, only half jokingly. She knew she would have to protect it in some manner.

"They aren't that fragile." Ceres nodded with a chuckle. "Or, else mine would be scratched, nicked, and dinged beyond all repair. You've got to want to break it, for it to break... Or, else have enough hatred in your heart for a place that once you cross into the island the mirror will shatter behind you."

"Oh....Well I guess I'll have to make sure to keep my emotions in check whenever I try to use it. Good to know..." Keeta's mind briefly flickered to a trip 'home,' but she quickly pushed that thought away. Evin wasn't her home anymore.

"Like I said, it is harder than it sounds to shatter a mirror." Ceres smiled reassuringly. "If you'll excuse me." She said stepping back till she was flush against Sky. She had known all along he had been behind her without even having to look.

Keeta looked up at Sky and smiled at him, slightly embarrassed at not having noticed his approach. "How was your walk?"

"Interesting... Humans will never stop amazing me." Sky chuckled as he wrapped his arms around Ceres protectively. "They do things that I wouldn't imagine doing."

"I've been embarrassed enough today... Lets keep it G Rated." Ceres chuckled as she leaned into the embrace. She decided to not say anything past that, but she did wink at Keeta.

Keeta smiled slightly, remembering their earlier talk. She just hoped that Ceres would be able to get past her own barriers.

"I don't think they ever stop amazing each other," Keeta said in response to Sky, chucking slightly. "True, I'm only half human, but I feel like a human as I was never raised among the elves, and I am constantly surprised."

"We will meet again Keeta." Sky said as he turned Ceres around before she could continue to talk.

"But..." Ceres pouted. She knew she needed to get back even if she didn't want to go.

Sky chuckled then took Ceres' hand, and lead her to a more private area so she could get them home.

"Bye Ceres! Bye Sky!" she called after them waving, before sitting back down again with a small sigh. Well that had been an interesting discussion. She traced the ornately jeweled mirror frame as she sat in the quiet of the empty bar, thinking.

Rhine's Escape At The Casbah: Pain (AIM PRP)

Parties involved in order of first appearance: Kawaii_Hime_Ceres, and keetabirdy.

----

Despite owning a cafe, entertainment establishment Rhine couldn't remember the last time he'd actually combed his hair, brushed his teeth, or done any routine maintenance. He looked himself over in the mirror having finally climbing out of bed.

Sometime later he was leaving his little 'home' that was above his establishment. He always loved this place, or he use to. He had poured his heart into it... Like other things. Talking with his rents, and his sisters hadn't made matters any better.

Sighing heavily as he arrived at an establishment Ceres' had heard his mother mention. Keeta, the lady he met in the kitchen those couple of times worked here... He knew that much. He tucked in his shirt, and straightened himself. Looking as best as a possible he entered, and found himself a seat at the bar.

Keeta turned around at the sound of someone seating themselves, from where she had been putting away some clean glasses. She couldn't hide her surprise when she saw who it was. Rhine, Ceres' son. What was he doing here? Presumably not just for a visit. She didn't know him well enough for him to be dropping in for a chat like that. Keeta knew it must be to have a drink then.

Something nagged at the back of her mind, something Cassara ("Vlad") had said when Keeta had last been at the island, but she couldn't place what was said and pushed it from her mind. All she could remember was what Ceres had said about his recent failure in the relationship department and she figured he would not care to be reminded of that. She put on her best smile and walked the few steps toward where he was sitting and leaned across the bar, resting on her forearms.

"Well hi there Rhine. Nice to see you! I must say I never expected to see you wander in through the doors of the Casbah."

Rhine gave Keeta a look as he put on his best smile. He took her hand, and placed a gentle kiss. But, past that he couldn't hold the smile in place. His fingers idly traced the lines of the wooden bar. "Normally busy with work, family, and marr-" He could no longer say that. Marriage was a thing of the past. He sighed as his fists clenched shut. 'I won't cry.' He told himself... After all he had just showered, brushed his teeth and hair, and promised himself a good night out.

Keeta didn't blush as much as she usually did when he kissed her hand. She had begun to accept this as a normal manner of greeting for him. Her smile faded as well though, when his did and his sentence ended abruptly. Feeling slightly uncomfortable at how quickly the topic had turned to his recent misfortune, she stood up straighter, but tried to keep her tone normal.

"Well you're here now?" she said tentatively, trying to bring her smile back. "Anything I can get you?"

Rhine didn't lift his head, but did lift his eyes to look at her. Did she know, or didn't she... about what alcohol did to him? He was sure either his sister, or his mother had slipped that information. In any case, he could take advantage of this situation. "How about a Smirnoff?"

"Sure! Any particular flavor?" she asked, picking up a glass from the shelf under the bar and setting it in front of him.

"Raspberry tea." Rhine grinned. The tea flavors that Smirnoff created hardly tasted of alcohol, and he consume them rather quickly one after another.

Nodding, Keeta retrieved the bottle and returned quickly, popping the top off, before placing it in front of him.

"There you are," she said with a smile, happy to see the grin on his face. Well if that didn't perk him right up. She could understand wanting to get lost in the oblivion alcohol offered. Before Joel, she had been one of those people, and she knew Rhine must be hurting pretty bad right now.

"Might wanna go ahead and get a few spares... It is going to be a long night, and you'll have trouble keeping up." Rhine said as he took the bottle. He tipped his head, and didn't stop till it was gone. His tail a curled around the barstool as he made himself as comfortable as possible.

Keeta bit back the surprised reply that threatened to escape at his request and then downing of the entire bottle. She wanted to suggest he take it easy, but even if he were Ceres' son, it wouldn't do to talk to him as if he weren't a normal customer. Still, she knew what downing a bottle like that would have done to her. Nodding, she went back and grabbed three more bottles, popping the top off the first and setting them next to him on the bar. She picked up the empty and placed it in the large recycling bin in an alcove next to the kitchen.

"You ever had one of those days were everything-" Rhine shook his head, and bit his lip. He fingered the rim of the bottle eying it as if it were something between an enemy and a friend. He wanted to get away, and to not remember a thing. He didn't care if this was the best way. He finally took the bottle and down half of it before setting it down on the counter. "- Everything should have been perfect... different."

"I suppose everyone has had a day or two like that in their lives..." she said with a slight shrug, leaning across the bar again. "Perfect things don't always remain perfect no matter how much you wish it. We all have disappointments and let downs..." Keeta chewed on her lip slightly, hoping she wasn't opening a can of worms.

"I should have stuck to the drink, and then men... And said ******** it to the woman, and the business." Rhine's charismatic charm still remained despite his near vicious words that he spoke. He looked away from Keeta, and down at the bottle. His tail uncurled, and recurled. He could get away with tonight because tomorrow he wouldn't remember. It would be Keeta's word against his own. With that he finished the bottle, and reached for another.

"Ah...." was all she said. She never knew how to respond to those who came in here to remove their troubles with the alcohol and until it kicked in, confess them to the bartender. Keeta had become good at listening and nodding in the right places over the years, letting them vent their frustrations. She hoped she could nod and "uh-huh" to a child of a friend as effectively.

Rhine didn't have any trouble with the cap on the bottle. He wanted it, and wanted it now. He licked his lips. He didn't know if it was the alcohol, or Keeta that was more on his mind. "I shouldn't be here doing this-" But, really he didn't care as he downed everything the third bottle had to offer. He could already feel the effects. He was beginning to wonder how hard it would be to persuade someone to accompany him... If even just for a walk. Though he didn't know if that would be such a good idea because really he didn't know if he could contain himself once the bar wasn't between them.

"It's ok," she said. Keeta had heard that one before and she just nodded sympathetically, trying to remain non-judgmental like with any other customer. She didn't realize that his words held a heavier significance than did the ones of the normal people who came here to drown out their sorrows. Inwardly she cringed as she saw he had already downed three bottles. He must have really needed it. She picked up the other two empties and placed them in the recycling bin with the first.

"Couple more please." Rhine said finishing the one in hand. He eyed the empty bottle as he realized that he was hungry. "You wouldn't happen to have anything to eat to go with it would you?" He was still more than half tempted to ask her out. He just wanted to take her out for a harmless stroll. However, he wasn't sure how wise that was considering he knew how he acted, or so he'd been told at least. Out there, there wouldn't be a bar between them.

Keeta chewed on her lip again and nodded after a moment at the request for more liquor. He seemed ok, his speech wasn't slurred yet or anything that she could see. She just didn't want him to drink himself to the point of sickness or passing out. When he asked for food, she was grateful for the excuse to delay getting him the drinks for a moment.

"What did you have in mind?" Keeta asked, pulling out the appetizer menu. It had pretty typical fare, with onion rings, fries, sliders, potato skins, calamari and mozzarella sticks.

"Keeta have I ever told you before how pretty you are?" Rhine said with a grin throwing all caution to the wind. To hell with it. He hadn't done anything 'foolish' in years.

"Um...n-no?" she said, turning pink all the way to her ears. That hadn't been what she meant when she asked if he knew what he had in mind to eat. In an effort to redirect him she pointed back at the menu.

"I personally really like the mozzarella sticks, but any of these are available."

"If a beautiful lady such as yourself suggests mozzarella sticks-" Rhine grinned. "Then that is what I shall have... With a couple more rounds of course." He handed her the empty bottle, and the grin didn't leave his face.

"Coming right up..." she said, trying to keep the confusion out of her voice. With a small sigh of relief, she headed into the back and put a serving in the fryer, before coming back out front and placing two more bottles on the counter. Keeta wondered briefly if she should be giving them to him, despite his faculties apparently being in order.

Rhine was busy playing with his ring, weaving it between his fingers. He looked up at Keeta with her return. He knew it wouldn't be with food because it would take time to cook. Old 'sticks' were anything but good. He grinned when she set out another round. "Thanks."

"You're welcome. Anything else I can get for you?" Keeta asked, not sure if she wanted to know the answer. At least the timer on the mozzarella sticks would go off in a couple moments and it would give her an excuse to go in the back again.

'Just a decent screw.' Was Rhine's first thought, and somehow he managed to not say it aloud. He sat his ring on the counter, and opened one of the bottles. "Not at the moment unless you are on the menu." He didn't realize that was probably just as bad as the first thought he'd contained.

Keeta swallowed hard and cleared her throat before responding. "I don't think I'm listed on there, but let me check." She handed him the menu and went down the list in front of him. "Doesn't look like it...." She was still pink with embarrassment and took a step back, leaning against the counter behind the bar.

"You sure it isn't listed under the fine print... Or, one of those menu items you only get if you frequent the place." Rhine couldn't wipe the grin from his face. 'Waisted' as he was he still had all his wits about it. He for the most part was Rhine, just 4 times hornier. He took a moment to down half the bottle.

"Pretty sure..." Keeta jumped with surprise when the timer went off in the back, signaling the mozzarella sticks were finished cooking. She quickly excused herself and headed through the swinging door to remove them from the fryer. As she fished them out, she couldn't help thinking several things to herself. Why was he being so pushy? Was he like this normally and just hid it when around his family? Sure I've had customers come on like this before, I mean this is a bar, but still, he's Ceres' son! The sticks successfully placed in a basket, she came through the doors a moment later and placed the steaming food in front of him.

"Careful," she warned him, as she set them down. "They're hot, don't want you to burn yourself."

Rhine barely pays attention to the 'sticks'. He heard her mention they were hot. Well Keeta was hot, but he didn't care. He wanted her. He rubbed his legs, and grinned. It was a really good thing the bar was between them, though he could easily fix that in a heart beat. But, he didn't want to embarrass her. This was strange. Part of his brain was actually functioning.

"One day, while going to the store, I passed by a nursing home. On the front lawn were six old ladies lying naked on the grass. I thought this was a bit unusual, but continued on my way to the store-" Rhine began. It was a joke he'd heard from on of the customers at his establishment. He didn't care if it was appropriate.

"On my return trip, I passed the same nursing home with the same six old ladies lying naked on the lawn. This time my curiosity got the best of me, and I went inside to talk to the Nursing Home Administrator. 'Do you know there are six ladies lying naked on your front lawn?'-" Rhine paused for effect."

"'Yes,' she said. 'They 're retired prostitutes, and they're having a yard sale." Now that Rhine had finished he was sure it was a terrible pickup line, if it could even be counted as one. But, really he didn't care.

Keeta blinked and didn't speak for a moment, in order to process what she had heard. Deciding she had heard correctly, she raised an eyebrow at him.

"Alrightly then..." she said, trying to keep her tone neutral. Inwardly she knew it would be a bad time to mention she had almost been as much before Joel came along. Rhine might take that as too much of an invitation.

"I'll keep it in mind to stay away from nursing homes if I don't want to see any naked older women."

"I think you will age beautifully." Rhine licked his lips as he finally picked up a 'stick'. One by one he cracked them in half, and then he again left them alone. He down the rest of the bottle. He could resist himself. He just had to stretch.

"Well I hope you're right in that regard. That would be a nice genetic present my father could leave me..." She glanced at his treatment of the sticks and shrugged slightly. Well they were his food, he could do with him as he liked.

"Before I forget." Rhine said reaching behind him. He dropped a small pouch on the counter. "Don't start counting till the evenings over. And, don't forget your tip... And, make it a good one." 'Since I cannot give the tip I want.' He said with a wicked grin that couldn't be contained. He need someone right now really, really bad.

"Thank you. I'll just leave it right there until you're ready to settle your tab. Don't want you to think I would run off with your money or anything." Oy....she needed a drink, but that would both be illegal and dumb with the current circumstances, so she just pulled a bottle of water from the fridge to occupy her instead.

"I know you wouldn't run off with it. I just know. If my mother trusts you, then I trust you." Rhine said simply enough. He eyed her water bottle. "Why not trade in the apron and join me." He patted the stool next to him. He was really trying...

"Well, I won't trade in the apron, as I'm the only one here at the moment, but sure, I'll sit down." She was thinking not to be rude, but she hoped it wasn't a bad decision on her part. Slightly nervously, she stepped 'round the counter and took the offered stool.

Rhine had to catch his breath because it was knocked out of him. She looked even better sitting next to him. He put a hand on her shoulder, and smiled. "'Stick'?" He said putting the basket between them with his free hand.

"Sure, thanks..." She said, trying to smile back and taking one of the half sticks from the basket and chewing on it thoughtfully before glancing at him.

"Aren't you going to have any? You were the one that ordered them..." Keeta said, nodding towards the basket. She took another swig of her water.

"Just to get your attention." Rhine said as he picked one up. "I'm not actually use to eating around others other than at the family dinner table." For a brief moment he eyed his wedding band, and sighed. The thing was useless now. So much time wasted.

Keeta nodded and followed his gaze, glancing at the ring sitting on the bar counter. Then she awkwardly turned to look at the one sitting on her own left hand. She blushed again wondering if Rhine had seen it and to keep from having to say anything she grabbed another stick and started chewing again.

"The blush flatters you." Rhine said wanting to reach out and touch her cheeks. Instead he occupied his hands with sticks, and booze. The busier they were the less tempted he was.

Keeta ducked her head now, wishing she could control that particular habit. It made her into one of those people who 'wore their hearts on their sleeves.'

"Ermmm....thanks I guess," she said quietly.

"Every curve is sensual- I bet you'd make a divine dancer." There was a twinkle in Rhine's eyes as he whispered those words in her direction, but purposely not making them directly for her so she didn't get that embarrassed. He waited a few moments before taking a long swig of the beverage.

Keeta tried to think of some excuse to put some distance between them without being rude, but couldn't come up with anything. If Kael were here, she knew Rhine would be in for it. She hoped he didn't decide to come with Joel and pick her up from work. Not to be rude though, she tried to make a reasonable response to his comment.

"I used to dance, but not since Joel..."

"We are musicians... I myself love to see what moves people, inspires them." Rhine said setting the bottle down. He didn't know how many he had, had or how many he could still manage. He was near that point he was content. Maybe it was age that helped in curving his apatite for sex when he consumed alcohol- or maybe it was the memories of her.

"Ah.....and what inspires you?" she asked, hoping it wasn't a dangerous question

"Nothing-" Rhine answered a little to quickly, but right now that was entirely true. "I was a green and yellow child who poured my heart into one source, and now..." He shook his head letting out a long, low sigh. "Not even my music could save me."

Keeta frowned at the direction the conversation had taken. True, his advances had made her uncomfortable, but this wasn't much better. She hated seeing people depressed. Cautiously she laid a hand on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry you're going through a rough time. Is there anything I can do?"

"Guess it was pointless to get this-" Rhine said as he rolled up the sleeve of his shirt. "You any good at reading Runes?" He asked. "The middle isn't one. It is just a symbol based on her name... Jasmine."

"Not really..." she said in response to his question. If she had lived with the elves, perhaps she would have studied runes. But she was the daughter of a barkeep and mercenary and didn't receive more than the necessary education.

"It's beautiful though..."

"Thank you." Rhine said stretching the length of himself out. He decided to not really get into what they mean at this moment. "I suppose though that a flower is better than someones name." He said as he munched on another stick.

"True, because unless you choose to tell it to someone they'll just choose to think is a design you chose because you liked it, and nothing more." She rubbed his shoulder gently, trying to comfort him.

"Really makes me look pansy then doesn't he." Rhine laughed despite that being a somewhat negative comment about himself. But, he had meant it all in good fun considering that he really swung both ways. "Really though you should let me play for you sometime."

"Music? If you play guitar, I'm pretty sure one of our regulars keeps one here that you could use. And no I don't think it makes you look like a pansy." Keeta made a face at the idea.

"I play the violin." Rhine grinned. "Very well mater-of-fact, but it hasn't been always. Cassara is the real player, among my other sisters. There isn't a child yet who Ceres hasn't taught to play." He inhaled deeply before returning to the bottle. After all even if the thought had occurred to stop, did he have a reason?

"Well, I don't play anything. Never have. My time growing up was spent learning how to fight with my chosen mediums of quarterstaff and throwing knives." She shrugged. "But sure, I would love to hear you play, next time you have your violin. Joel seems to enjoy music. Maybe you should play for him too."

"Would be a pleasure." Rhine said. "Next time I'll be sure to bring my violin." He swung his tail around gently enough it didn't break anything. "My strongest weapon other than my teeth and claws, but those only come in dragon form." He chuckled. "And, as a kid I never studied anything but the back of my eye lids. I didn't make a turn around until I met her..."

"Ah..." Keeta said, not knowing what else to say to him. It seemed she would not be able to keep him on a more comfortable topic.

"Maybe I should just find a nice spot under a cozy window with just enough light. A nice rug would be nice. Right under the rays of sunshine. And, take a nap." Rhine was starting to remember his favorite past time in vivid detail.

Keeta glanced out the window, where the sunlight was starting to dwindle. "Well...that might have to wait until tomorrow if you want he sunshine to be warm....Are you sure there's nothing I can do to help?" she asked, trying to redirect him again. His advances had been more comfortable than this. She had, had her fair share of them when she had worked dancing, and as a bartender it was par for the course. Part of her was concerned whether she could keep herself in line if he decided to pursue it again. Now she was emotionally involved and that had got her every time when she didn't care so much about being monogamous.

"A fine woman such as yourself could more than occupy my mind." Rhine didn't realize how feral his grin was. He didn't even know whether or not he could still control himself if he had the opportunity to turn down Keeta if she did sway to the 'yes' side of things. He let his tail settle down again, and wrap around the chair.

"More, such as...?" she prodded gently, glancing at the clock. Her replacement would be here soon. She wasn't closing tonight, so her shift was due to end at 7. Keeta was toying with the idea of suggesting a walk, to help calm Rhine down, not realizing Rhine had been thinking the same thing earlier, but with different intentions.

"With you I'm positive there wouldn't be a thing else on my mind-" Rhine's tongue caressed the mouth of the bottle. His breathing was slow, but it was enough. "Just thoughts of pleasuring every available inch of you."

Keeta's breathing altered too, trying to keep an handle on herself. Her heart was pounding with indecision. She wanted to help him, but was it worth doing that to Kael? Would he forgive her? She looked down at the engagement ring on her finger again, chewing on her lip.

"I want to help you..." she said softly. And if she was being honest with herself, it wasn't just that she wanted to help him. Part of her missed the carefree nature of those days before Joel was born...

"Could help you just as much as it could help me." Rhine whispered as he leaned forward. "And no ones going to tell unless you go telling." His lips were barely inches from Keeta's. He wanted so bad to tangle his fingers in her silky strands, and to take those lips for himself.

"Not here..." she breathed. For they were still sitting in the open area of the bar, where people WOULD go telling if they were discovered. She forced herself to pull away and glanced at the clock. Five til...She knew whoever was scheduled next would be showing up momentarily. Grabbing his hand she stood and pulled him towards the door.

Rhine managed to grab his ring, but left the bag of money on the table. He'd still have to pay his tab, and tomorrow he wouldn't remember to do so. Someone would just be getting a fairly heavily tip. Then again he had drank a good bit. He gave Keeta's hand a firm, but gentle squeeze. He was looking forward to this. He was looking forward to this. And, at this moment wherever they were going he didn't care, he just wanted to get there.

Rhine's Escape At The Casbah: Pleasure (AIM PRP)

Parties involved in order of first appearance: Kawaii_Hime_Ceres, and keetabirdy.

----

Keeta didn't quite know where she was going either, just away. Anywhere in the bar was just too dangerous. Then she remembered the little motel just up the street. It wasn't very popular, but it seemed clean enough from the outside. Walking faster than normal, she led him down the street towards the front office of the establishment.

Rhine's heart skipped a beat, and for a moment it felt that it would leap right out of chest. He took a deep breath, and swallowed a little to hard for comfort. He was very excited. Every decent, moral thought was thrown. All caution out the door. He was barely able to contain himself as is in the moment.

Rhine did manage one thought. He reached into his back pocket for his wallet. He didn't want her to pay. No lady should have to pay for a night of pleasure.

Keeta was almost shaking when they walked through the front door off the office. From the excitement or the fact that she knew this was so very wrong, she wasn't sure. She cleared her throat as she approached the counter, not wanting to have to repeat herself.

"One room please."

The man looked from one to the other, but who was he to judge- after all he did run this establishment. Really all he cared about was the money, and not who came through the door. He took the mans wallet who didn't seem to have any wits about him at the moment. After collecting enough to cover the bill he returned it. He didn't let on he grabbed a little extra.

Rhine was to busy trying to occupy his hands to pay attention with what was going on with his wallet. If had hadn't occupied his hands he'd be doing a pretty good job of starting things right there at the counter.

Finally with wallet, and key in hand he gave Keeta's had a squeeze.

Swallowing sightly nervously, she took a furtive glance out the window to make sure none of the regular or employees of the Casbah were on the streets outside. Finding it clear, she led the way to the room, with butterflies in her stomach.

Aside from the extra dose of hormones Rhine acted fairly normal. Picking up the nervous vibes from Keeta he didn't spend any time lingering at the door. Having never used a 'hotel' before it did take him a moment to get the key to work.

Once inside, Keeta flipped the light on and gave him a small smile, before gently laying a hand on his arm.

"We're all alone now..."

Rhine almost wished he could tell her he hadn't done something close to this before. But, even if he could he felt he shouldn't. There was an air about this that made his adrenaline rush more than normal. He wrapped an around her waist as he caressed her cheeks. Captivated by her gray eyes, for a moment he let himself drown. He didn't understand why, or how. But, somehow he wanted to treat her right, and not like some ******** toy that he wouldn't remember tomorrow.

Keeta stared back into his face, studying it as he held her. It was so different from Kaels, kinder almost. Briefly she wondered 'what if' but then pushed those thoughts away as she nuzzled into his caressing hand. This wasn't anything more than what it appeared.....was it?

Rhine wasn't sure how to describe what he was feeling, or if he even wanted to. He didn't know if tomorrow he wanted to remember or to be reminded. Finally, though after lingering he tangled his fingers in her hair just as he wanted to earlier. He was delighted in the silk light feeling against his fingers as he massaged the back of her scalp. Seconds later his lips were against hers.

Keeta eagerly returned the kiss, glad that they weren't dancing around each other anymore. It was making her think too much about what they were doing and the last thing she wanted to do right now was think. She wrapped her arms around him, pulling him closer.

Though their lips parted they did not leave her flesh. Rhine's touch was feather light when he was absorbed by something, committed to it. This moment was between Keeta and him. Nor heaven or hell could have stopped him at this moment. He was invested, and he knew it.

Keeta closed her eyes and leaned her head back slightly, enjoying the soft touch of his lips. She released a hand from behind him and stroked his hair gently, The need which she had tried to keep under control before, was now growing more intense with every passing second. Before she had tried to convince herself it was about helping him only, but she knew now it was more than that. This was just as much about serving her own need as his.

Rhine took a deep breath inhaling her scent. He wanted to savor this, but at the same time he knew if he lingered to long the alcohol would be out of his system. He wondered for a moment if that was what he wanted so that he would remember this.

Rhines tail 'snaked' up her leg giving it a firm squeeze. He was 'distracting' her as he removed what felt like silk panties. His fingers in the mean time were busy with the peasant blouse. There was nothing romantic to him about removing clothing. It was in the way plan and simple.

Keeta's eyes were still closed as he began to 'explore' her and she gasped slightly as his tail squeezed her leg unexpectedly. She glanced down to see what it was and instantly relaxed again. She had forgotten that some people could use their additional appendages as extra hands at times. But she had had her fair share of different experiences in her shadier days.

When she realized what he was starting to do, she didn't waste any time either and her hands began to move to the fastenings of his pants. Her breathing was quickening again as they got closer to what they came here to do.

---- Insert Time Lapse ----

Rhine gently rolled them so that Keeta was on top. He knew that her form was 'fragile' and not meant to hold up his bulk. Especially since he knew he had to feel three times heavier since he was lax. His breathing labored, but he didn't do anything to help matters. His fingers continued to dance across sweet slicked flesh, as his lips worked magic with her own.

Keeta kissed him back, shaking slightly from the exertion of their frolicking. She was smiling though and her fingers ran through his damp hair. Even though she knew she should feel guilty about what had just transpired between them, right now she felt no emotion of the kind. After another long moment of their lips entangling, she broke the kiss and rested her head on his chest, trying to let both of them get their breath back.

The times this had, had previously never had another felt like this. He didn't understand it, and he probably didn't want an explanation. Somewhere inside he just knew this was tonight. Even if he remember tomorrow, for her sake he would just say he didn't... Somehow he just felt that was best. But, for now he didn't need to be worrying about those things because there was a woman in his arms. He took these moments was the sweat was still fresh to admire how it glistened, and how damp hair could look so amazing even if it could be defined as a 'rats nest'. This was nature at its best. He sighed contently.

Keeta didn't want this moment to end. When it ended, it would mean facing what she had just done and the consequences and confusion that might follow. She had connected with Rhine in some inexplicable way and she couldn't deny that. There was more underlying this than just some hormonal fixation, or at least that's what she thought right now. She loved Kael though......didn't she? Unwelcome thoughts and doubts came parading into her head, despite her efforts to rebuff them. She didn't want to think about this right now, she wanted to enjoy lying in Rhine's arms, but her subconscious wouldn't let her.

"How about I fix us a bath." Rhine said after a long moment of looking in her eyes. He was far from knowing the troubles that conflicted her mind. He had thought perhaps a shower would help them both. He wasn't one for laying around in fluids for long periods of time because that meant he'd get sticky. Sticky meant that he was hot, and that combination meant he'd be miserable. And, the last thing he wanted was to be miserable after such an amazing experience.

"That would be nice," she said, looking back at him and trying to smile, his voice a welcoming distraction from the thoughts that invaded her mind. Keeta rolled off of him and sat up, scooting towards the end of the bed. She let her fingers linger on the smooth skin of his stomach though.

Rhine took a second to admire Keeta a bit more before he climbed from the bed. There wasn't an ounce of an attempt of modesty as he bent over to retrieve something from his pocket. After about ten minutes Rhine thought he had done a fairly good job at transforming a seemly questionable tub to a spa like experience. "Keeta the baths ready." He said poking his head out of the small room.

Keeta had been curled up on the bed, lost in her thoughts once more, in the time he had been preparing the bath. At his invitation from the door, she turned again and smiled. Taking in a breath of the air coming though the open door, she could smell some inviting scents. She got up off the bed curious as to what he had been doing in there. It had seemed an inordinately long amount of time to just prepare a standard bath.

"It smells lovely. What have you been up to?" she asked as she approached the door, no more modest than he had been.

Rhine caressed her shoulder, and looked into her eyes as he used his free hand to turn off the light switch. "Creating a little piece of paradise for you."

Keeta's eyes opened wide and she gasped slightly, as she stepped into the bathroom, where romantic candles had been placed everywhere, lighting the room with a dim, but plesant glow. The bathtub was filled with warm scented suds and it look amazing, particularly for a cheap hotel room.

"It's beautiful Rhine! How did you manage all this?" she asked, before pulling him towards her and kissing him deeply.

Rhine eagerly return the kiss, again tangling fingers into her hair and massaging her scalp. He couldn't get enough of those silky strands no mater how tangled they became. "I used my mirror to pop into my bathroom." He said breathlessly after the kiss.

"Well that was sweet of you," Keeta said, tracing his lips with a finger, the irritating thoughts for the moment banished from her mind. With her other hand, she took his and started pulling him to the tub.

"Well let's make use of the wonderful thing you've done here and not let the water get cold."

It took several moments for Rhine's eyes to adjust to the candlelight, but one thing he constantly noticed was the sparkle in her eyes. "You bring wonderful points to light." He grinned as he helped her into the tub. "Ladies first."

"Mmmm...." she said as he helped her into the warm water, it felt wonderful after their earlier activities. Sighing contentedly, she put a hand up to steady him when he was ready to climb in.

"It'll be no fun in here without you," she said with a grin, her eyes appreciating how his body looked, lit by the candles.

Rhine hummed for a moment as he got into the water. Once he was settled in he took another moment to admire how the candles made her skin glow, and how the water caressed her body. "I haven't had this much fun in a long while..."

"Well I'm glad you're enjoying yourself. I know I am," Keeta said softly, moving to where she was kind of half in his lap, her head resting on his shoulder. She took one of his hands and interlocked her fingers with his.

Rhine's smile became softer when she entwined their fingers. He inhaled her scent as he wrapped his free arms around her. He couldn't believe how at piece he was, and he knew that there wasn't any alcohol left in him. He didn't know if that was good or bad, but for now he'd lean towards good.

Keeta settled in next to him, letting herself relax in the water, but those thoughts kept poking at the edge of her mind. She struggled to push them aside, but they were persistent. She started playing with their interlocked hands, but it didn't distract her for long.

"I understand if you want to go home." Rhine whispered as he used his free hand to run his fingers through her damp hair. His tail curled around her leg, and the tip of it caressed her ankle. As content as he was feeling he didn't want to think.

Keeta turned to look at him a concerned expression on her forehead.

"No, no, was I giving that impression? I'm sorry..." she bit her lip, having not intended for her worries to bother him.

"It wasn't you I was worried about darling-" Rhine said giving her hand a squeeze. "It was your son. I didn't want him to worry because mommy was late coming home." In reality though he didn't want her to go. He wanted to remain like this for a long while. Because he knew outside of this room reality would strike him hard, and he'd back to the thoughts he had previously.

Darling. The word sounded different when it came from him, but not unpleasant, interesting...And the fact that he was worried about Joel, well that just made her happy.

"He'll be fine with Kael. I'll just tell him I went to visit your mother. He knew she and I had wanted to work on the wed-" and she stopped, wishing she hadn't said it at all. How would wedding talk sound to the 'other man' who was sleeping with the bride and had just gone through his own divorce...? Keeta looked down, afriad to look at his face, ashamed for having brought it up.

Rhine chuckled in hopes of making her feel better. "I'm not going to judge you Keeta. I never would." He tipped her head just enough so that he could look into her eyes.

"It was more an issue of not wanting to make you feel badly," she said looking up at him. "I don't want you to come away from this hurting." She said turning her head to look at him better, with the guidance of his fingers.

"You've more than proven to me that there is light at the end of the tunnel-" Rhine took a moment for silence to fall between them as he look her in the eyes. "And, what is meant to be, will be... Regardless of what happens in the middle."

Rhine used the tip of his tail to flip water onto them. He didn't want half of him to dry out while the other half was fine. That and he didn't want either to catch a chill.

"I suppose," she said, twisting the spot where the engagement ring normally sat on her finger. Keeta had taken it off earlier, as it had seemed wrong to leave it on while they were enjoying themselves. Someone, and maybe even three someones were going to be hurt because of this, but as he said, what will be will be...

Rhine felt that there had been enough words between them that he had stopped saying anything before any 'ill' feelings cropped up. He used his tail to grab the poof and soap. "How about I bathe you?"

"Sure" she said, offering him a soft smile, knowing he was trying to ease the tension. There would be much more time to figure this out later it seemed. It wasn't like there was a date for the wedding yet...She scooted into a better position for him and closed her eyes, hoping the feeling of the warm soapy water would help ease her mind.

Rhine put a good amount of shampoo in his hand, and then lathered up her hair. "You've got to tell me your secret." He grinned. "You're hair is beautiful." He took extra care and time with her hair. His fingers massaging her scalp, and making sure not to leave out an inch.

"I'm half elf?" she offered. "I don't really do anything special to my hair, I promise. But thank you." As usual she could feel her face growing warm with the compliment and she hoped that the dim light wouldn't allow him to see the pink color that had certainly appeared on her cheeks.

"Well, what ever you aren't doing don't stop doing it." Rhine said as he rinsed his fingers. "Keep your eyes closed or the soap will sting." He stated the obvious after all this wasn't kid shampoo. He in the mean time collect fresh warm water in a cup.

Keeta chuckled slightly and obediently closed her eyes. It was kind of fun to be treated like a little girl once in a while. Her mother had never really done things like this for her as a child. She was never neglected, the bar staff making up for gaps her mother left, but she rarely got one-on-one bonding time, with things like this.

Rhine was careful about soap getting in her eyes even if she had them closed. "Your skin glows," He whispered against the shell of her ear as he lathered up the poof ball. He couldn't remember a time when he'd been able to enjoy a moment like this wrapped up in someone else other than himself.

Keeta shivered as he whispered in her ear. It was so sensual having him this close, in this setting. She turned to where she could reach his lips and covered them once more with her own, in a gentle kiss.

Rhine return the gentle kiss, playfully tugging on her lips with his own. He managed to turn the poof in a massage tool. He went slow, and made sure to cover every inch. He almost wished his hands could accomplish the same effect.

Keeta moaned slightly as he massaged her with the poof and soapy water. Part of her felt bad that she wasn't doing anything for him at the moment, but it felt so wonderful! She drew her knees to her chest and rested her head on them, letting him have access to the full of her back.

Having fully soaped her back he sat the poof aside and began using his hands and fingers to continue the massage. Occasionally he stopped to draw patterns in the soap that was left over. Every curve was perfect.

Keeta would occasionally emit little sounds of pleasure, but other than that she was silent, letting him work magic with his fingers. Her eyes closed as she continued to rest her head on her knees, just enjoying his touch. After a time, however, she began to hum softly, nothing in particular, just little bits of melodies here and there. He was so gentle with his hands that she even began to fall asleep as she hummed her little tune.

Rhine took pride in being able to pleasure her, and having her enjoy the moment to the fullest. Every woman deserved to be pampered after all they gave so much to the world even if hardly any of it was realized. He rinsed her back with fresh warm water and then began to work on washing her legs since that is what he could get to at the moment.

She looked up and smiled at him, sitting more upright as he changed his area of concentration.

"That felt wonderful! You're amazing," Keeta said, sitting to face him now, in a fashion that wasn't hiding anything. "You keep that up and I'll be asleep before long," she said laughing a little.

Rhine's cheeks turned flush for the first time in forever. "Thanks." He said with a grin as he resoaped the poof. He picked up one of her legs from the water and continued to work magic on it. He continued to admire her beauty and how the water trickled down her leg.

All this massaging was really getting to her, and started to make her hot and bothered again. Particularly with how closely the poof would come sometimes, even if that wasn't Rhine's intention. After a while she couldn't take it any more and before he was finished with her legs, she leaned up and kissed him again, more intensely than the last time, and pulling herself in closer proximity to him.

Rhine didn't need to be told twice before part of his quickly reported to being full aroused. He could blame being brushed up against her in sudden fluid motions. He eagerly, hungrily returned her kiss. Passion poured from him. He didn't know if things seemed different because of the lack of alcohol. But, to him he seemed more aware, and more invested in this moment.

Keeta's hands were all over him, exploring his body in her desire for him, and soon her lips began traveling as well, along his neck and towards his ears. In the back of her mind, she knew this whole thing was foolish, but at the moment she didn't care, the worries she had had earlier were for the moment non-existent. She wanted him, and from the intensity of his kiss, she could pretty well assume he wanted her just as badly.

Rhine was consumed with her, and there wasn't a way to easily satisfy this need. The satisfaction would only come when the two were joined in sweet, sweaty bless. There wasn't a thought that crossed his mind other than the moment they were in about the pleasure that was quickly building.

Rhine suddenly found the tub a bit on the small side. No mater how he moved to get at more of Keeta he was blocked by the edge of the tub. After several attempts he was standing her up, and pressing her against the wall.

Keeta was frustrated by the tub as well. It was hard to get at the object (or person) of interest when all your efforts were foiled by too small a space. So when he stood her up, at first she was surprised and let out a little yelp, but she recovered immediately and was grateful for the extra maneuvering room this allowed, despite being pressed against the wall. It meant she was forced that much closer to him. She clung to him and continued to kiss and suck on his neck and jawline, occasionally teasing his ears, trying to make her mouth as effective a tool of pleasure as possible from where she was.

The moment Rhine felt Keeta's lips on his ears he was rendered near useless. There weren't many points on his body that could do this, and how she had lucked up so quickly to find at least one of them... He grinned wickedly as a moan escaped his lips. He hands found, and held onto her hips. She could take the reins for a moment.

Keeta chuckled slightly in amusement as she saw what effect pleasuring his ears had had. But she wasted no time in continuing that effort, her lips and tongue sliding around the edges of his unusual ears, her body still pressed to him.

Rhine's Escape At The Casbah: Plan (AIM PRP)

Parties involved in order of first appearance: Kawaii_Hime_Ceres, and keetabirdy.

----

Rhine turned on the shower while they took a brief period to enjoy their second Ecstasy high. He was a bit quicker in the second wash, and rinse. They'd already sloshed over two gallons of water on the floor, and he knew who ever had to clean up after them was going to be angrier than sin itself. He reached his arm out and grabbed them both a fluffy white towel.

Keeta curled up in it, enjoying the fluffy softness. She leaned into him, her head resting against his chest and sighed.

"I suppose I should go home...I can only 'plan a wedding' for so long a day...But I don't want to go..."

Rhine picked up a clump of wet hair that was resting on her shoulder, and took a moment to twist it between his fingers. "I'd tell you to grab Joel and come to my home... But, that would be selfish of me." He smiled gently enough, and made no moves to dry himself off. "You've got a life, and you deserve to live it."

"How easy it seems it could be to say yes...but I've made a promise to someone. One that is not lightly thrown aside." She frowned and looked down as he played with her hair.

"This has been so amazing here with you though...I'm so confused..."

"Better to be confused now than when you are standing on the alter. But, regardless the decision of marriage is not one to be taken lightly. Even happily ever after ends sometime." Rhine released her hair, and looked her in the eyes. "Amazing." He whispered as he caressed her cheek. "Forgive my charms."

"What is there to forgive?" she asked breathlessly as his gaze enveloped hers. "I just wish the whole thing didn't suddenly become more complicated...." she sighed again and tore her gaze away, stepping into the bedroom as she continued to dry herself with the towel.

"You're so amazing and romantic and part of a family I know I would love to be an even greater part of. Kael was there for me when I was pregnant and feeling unwanted. He fought for me against himself and despite being gone for months due to circumstances outside his control he was true to me and Joel."

Rhine had a million things he wanted to say, and a thousand he was half tempted to blurt out. Would Kael 'vanish' again, and in that time could Keeta continue to wait for him? Could Keeta look Kael in the eye and promise forever faithfully and honestly?

Rhine shook the thoughts from his mind, and forced himself to say nothing at all. A knot twisted in his stomach. He only hoped that he hadn't destroyed Keeta's happily every after in the process of their pleasure.

Rhine didn't know how long he'd stood their thinking before he entered the bedroom. He managed to look her in the eyes, and smile. A moment later he looked away so that he could find his pants. He wasn't going to say anything that would sway her...

Keeta watched Rhine as she sat on the bed, not motivated enough yet to find her own clothes. Lingering meant more time before she had to look Kael in the eyes. Would he see what she'd done in them? Would he make her decision easy by rejecting here then and there? Or would he pretend he hadn't seen and go on as though everything was normal, but now nursing a secret wound? This sneaking around thing was not good for her sanity.

Rhine held up the bra as he sat down on the edge of the bed. "If I could manage to put this on, and actually fill it I'd go in your place." He grinned trying to get a smile from her. "But, alas-" He caressed her cheek, and for the moment just enjoyed her company.

Keeta gave him a small smile for his efforts, and leaned slightly into his caress, closing her eyes and just thinking of his touch. She spoke a moment later though.

"I think he'd notice," she said with a slight smirk. "And my problems shouldn't be yours. I made the choice to do this, now I have to live with the consequences, good or bad."

Rhine ran his fingers through his damping hair. Towel still dry, however, his skin had pretty much absorbed the water. "Last I checked takes two to tango. And, despite me being full to the gills with alcohol earlier I know the second round I was sober." He wasn't sure how to put it any other way.

Keeta raised an amused eyebrow. "True, but I meant that you shouldn't have to deal with Kael. HE is not your problem, despite the rest of this being your problem if you want it to be. I just don't know where we go from here. I've never had this problem before."

"Most look at it as life giving your problems. I, however, look at it has life gives me adventures. And, regardless of his decision or yours-" Rhine looked Keeta in the eyes, and for a moment there was a sparkle in his eyes. "My home is always open. I wont turn either of you away."

"Well that's good to know," she said, feeling her cheeks turn slightly pink again. "Thank you. And I wish I could say the same, but I think you barging in would have Kael viewing you as a threat." She sighed, wishing it wasn't really all her decision and started to get dressed, knowing Joel would need to be in bed soon, if he wasn't already.

"What do you think we should do until we have things better figured out? Even in adventures, it's better to have a course of action."

Rhine pulled on his pants before he pushed himself up, and off the bed. "First things first." After a moment in the bathroom he returned with a stack of magazines. "You'll need to sturdy your excuse of absence..." He thought best when he occupied himself. He decided to occupy himself by finding his shirt. "Second thing... I think this adventure just needs to simmer. If the pots boiling over and needs to be stirred I can be found at my Cafe. Of which I am sure he has no clue of..."

"Bridal magazines?" she asked, glancing at the stack. "And what if YOUR pot is boiling over, sir?" she continued with a wink. They wouldn't always be able to come here, she knew, and there was no way they could go to Keeta's apartment. That would just be suicide.

"Bridal magazines did seem the most fitting. I mean unless you would like a couple on cooking." Rhine's grin stretched from ear to ear. He really hadn't thought about that... The thought of his pot boiling over. He certainly couldn't go to the market to stir his soup. He chuckled as he ruffled his hair. "The only time my soup boils over is when I've been drinking... The rest of the time I can contain myself." He said as he straightened up. He'd found his shirt.

"If you say so..." she'd finished getting dressed and started to grab her other things, fishing her mirror out of her purse.

"If I'm really going to complete the image of having been at your mother's I'll need to come home via the mirror."

"Let's hope that Kael won't ask to question my mother. I personally don't want her two sense put into my soup pot." Rhine chuckled before he became serious in his facial expression. "Till we meet again-" He caressed her cheek, and whispered against her lips. "-Princess."

Keeta blushed a pleased scarlet at the pet name and stood, kissing him deeply. After a moment, she stepped away, giving him a wistful glance.

"'Til we meet again indeed," she repeated softly, before disappearing through the mirror.
