@Cobalt I honestly don't care if we kill them, I'm just against the cruelty part of it. I don't like when the cows live their whole lives in a slaughterhous, waiting to die. If they're gonna kill them, they should at least be nice about it. Note: I'm not a vegetarian.

@Jenn_antiviolahater: Well, considering the fact that my family raises cattle, I can assure you that they do not live their whole lives in a slaughterhouse. They live on a farm then are taken to market to be sold and subsequently moved to a slaughterhouse to be slaughtered. The whole trip from farm to market to slaughterhouse is generally rather quick; like a few days or a week or so. As for the killing part they are nice about it. They kill them quick. I can assure you, from personal experience, that the last thing you want to deal with is a wounded pissed off steer. You want to kill them in one swift move before they realize what is going on.

@cobalt well then I'm okay with that, but many places do not treat their animals humanely and I'm not okay with that.

@Jenn_antiviolahater: Actually treating them humanely is the majority, not the minority. Mistreatment of animals results in poor product quality and production. It pays to treat your animals well. For example the poor treatment of a steer could turn what would be Grad A Prime Beef into hamburger and their is a BIG value difference when you sell a steer of Grade A Prime Beef quality compared to that of one of hamburger quality. It may cost more to treat your animals well but their is a cost benefit in the end.
