Serena's next spot was an old man with a cane. She eyed him as he slowly stumbled along at an uneven pace, very unlike the girl from before. He wore a clean pair of clothing, like he had just gotten out from the house, but his shoes were covered in dirt. The man must've have gotten out from a trail, but if so, then why didn't he have a spot of anything on his clothes?..or he could've gone home and changed again. He was getting a little boring to Serena as he staggered along the concrete pathway thought the crowd, so she laid her eyes onto a little kid, happily playing around with some kind of yoyo.

Serena's basically got nothing to do since she skipped class today. Sitting in the village and patiently observing people would be a good way to spend some time. Maybe she'll get to know more about them.

“Something to show?” the lively eyed boy pondered. Now Shisei was slightly interested in this unknown topic or thing. What could little Leo be planning that he wanted to discuss with Shisei and Orika? Only the two of them. With that thought, one gold eye leered to side by their other guest who was also silent. Despite his bright look he was quiet, aside from answering questions. As if to set a barrier, Shisei edged in his point of view. Just in case this ‘thing’ Karite wanted to show was supposed to remain secret. The snake child waited for another comment from his peer who kept silent, not swaying the green vines away from his eyes.

Kore came running into the village almost locked onto Karite scent as he turned he ran to the Udon shop where he was feed this morning their he saw Karite but he wasn't in trouble he was eating. That fat lazy p***k was eating! Kore was happy though to see him ok. Coming in he dropped the band and began to paw at his feet. He hoped the boy would share some of that. The cub didn't really care what it was.

Karite looked down as he saw the cub. He didn't smile or say a word. Grabbing the bowl he put it on the ground for Kore to eat the rest of the dish. Karite didn't really eat much of it. He should of but Kore's well being was more important then his own. Maya would kill him if Kore wasn't ok when she got back. Taking the hair tie and putting his green hair back into its ponytail. His focus slipped and he smiled his usual care free smile. "Alright guys, I am going to run to the weapon shop. Are you guys going to come?"

The little boy was smiling and happily chattering away at nothing as he watched his yoyo toy bounce up and down the strings. He seemed about six or seven years old to Serena. Maybe someday this kid would be on the path to becoming a shinobi...maybe even a great one at that. A few seconds passed until the Raiken realized that this little kid was looking at her, a confused look in his face. He had seen her, and knew that she was watching. 'This kid has some pretty good eyes, I must say..' She looked at him, his yoyo still, and she smiled and waved, then turned her face away from him. From the corner of her eyes, Serena saw the kid going back to playing with his yoyo, as if nothing really happened. When he grew up, she could see he would become someone with lots of energy.

"Sure! I wanna see your shiny staff. Can you even handle one yet?" Orika asked, stooping to pick up a stool she had knocked over. Her eyes wandered over to the the little lion who was happily slurping noodles out of Karite's barely touched bowl. How was he going to last until dinner without a decent lunch? Orika waved a still dripping hand into the noontime air, waving it around as if to catch the streams of wind demons that fluttered past the shop. "Sure you don't want to get a shirt first?" the girl suggested, although she was already heading out of the udon store and towards Hamma-san's nest. In the short time that she knew Karite, Orika already figured that his ambition wouldn't let him stop working to indulge in comforts.

As Kore finished his bowl Karite picked it up and sat it on the counter. Kore followed the crazed female out of the shop noticing that everyone was shifting towards the door anyway. It was going to be another activity he couldn't partake in. Being with this energetic boy had its ups and downs sometimes but no one could really blame the guy. He was quick that was for sure and fun to be around. So it was wins for everyone.

Karite looked at Shisei and smiled, the guy always seemed in a funk. He would get him to change his ways sooner or later. "Come on buuuudy. Lets go, your going to like what I have to show you I promise." As he turned he noticed Orika already on her way and Kore following. "Figures he follows the girl." Karite that to himself as he rolled his silver eyes in his head. Catching her comment last moment he laughed "No amount of clothing is going to help us for what we are about to do." Karite knew fighting on top of Bamboo stalks was not going to be easy. It would be fun and dangerous but not easy to say the least.

Serena sighed, maybe a little bit bored from watching people. She reached into her bag and took out a bag of chips, a little hungry too. This would distract her some as she watched the people walk by the village fountain. It caught her eye that two familiar people came out of the shop, one whom she recognzied right away. It was Orika, and she seemed to be headed somewhere with...who was it? He seemed so familiar..that green hair..it started with a K..Karite? Yeah his name was Karite. Serena remembered him from that fall festival where everyone made costumes. He was making some kind of lion costume. Last time she had talked to him, he was really friendly and sweet. She smiled as she watched the two walk out of the village, almost not noticing the lion following. 'Hmm..Karite got a pet lion? I don't remember that..he'll have to introduce him to me one day.' The Raiken went back to eating her bag of chips with a sigh and set her eyes to work, looking for more interesting village people.

Ah, the humans were leaving? Munin narrowed his eyes as some of the students left in the same direction. There class must have been dismissed, since the older human hadn't gone anywhere. Even so, some of the students had stayed behind. He debated for a moment which group he should watch. Serena seemed nice, surely she'd give him some food, but that creepy-eyed boy was still there... wait, what was he thinking? He had a job to do.

Munin twitched his head toward the boy with the small lion. Someone who had a cat-like creature, just like that girl... maybe he would have a similar taste as Xyn. He hopped to another roof just to get a closer look at the pair, not wanting to go too far away from the smell of food. Although, human girls smelled nice too...

"Wawk" A shrill but low cry came from Munin's beak as his wings fluttered off to follow the other humans. He'd studied all that he could in this place, and that girl who found him was of some interest. Maybe if he knew what girls liked, he could find soemthing that Xyn could show that lion-girl. Munin would always share the food and presents Xyn gave him with Hugin, so something that Xyn could share might be ideal.

What do humans like?

Shisei’s brow slanted. He wanted to know this secret now. Not wait around at a weapon’s shop. Not being able to know the secret that he desired, put irked the boy. “Tsk whatever…” the snake youth muttered between his teeth. “It better be good.” His mind thought as he finished up the udon. The teen farmer had already left and Karite just stepped out of the shop. “Thank you for the meal.” Shisei politely stated with a bow to the udon man as he made his departure. Returning outside to the cold world, at a far off distance gold eyes could see the girl with the weird twinkle in her eyes. She was sitting eating a bag of chips. The dread head felt he should go an demand her name, before she started with anymore mind games. After seconds contemplation he shook his head and decided against it. His mind had stay focused on its main purpose and not dawdle in useless tangents. Perhaps like the one he was on now….

Serena was pretty bored by now..her patience was low when it came to sitting there watching people. She was almost done with her bag of chips, too. As she stuffed the chips back into her bag, she took a step to stand up, regaining her balance, which wasn't so good today. As she swiped her hands together to get the salt off, her eyes caught the figure of a boy at the ramen shop, someone she thought she recognized. His face was turned the other direction, though, but for one second, she caught a glimpse of it. Of course, who could forget those striking snake eyes? It was that first year who approached her on her spying mission that day. He had almost ruined her task that day, except when everyone somehow got put into a genjutsu and fell asleep. He was following Karite and Orika..they were headed for somewhere. Serena had the urge to follow out of curiosity, but stepped back instead and turned the other direction, maybe saving her people watching for later.

Demonic Existence

PostPosted: Tue Aug 19, 2008 8:42 pm

Slender fingers grasp plump fruits from a wheel able wooden cart. The young man eyed the color, shape, and scent of the delectable fruit. The young man placed a small coin in the older gentleman’s rugged hand. Kana placed the small red apple into a small bag that he was using to transport the groceries from the marketplace to the apartments. “Hey Kazuma, have you found any good oranges yet?” The genin asked over the buzz of the busy crowd. Kana slowly walked through the small crowd over to where his little brother Kazuma was located. "Look for the really orange ones. Smell em' to see if they smell sweet to!" The crimson haired shinobi exclaimed and he placed his hand on the younger boys shoulder. He looked over the crop of healthy oranges the vendor had out for display.

His eyes were like an eagles, skillfully picking out each deformity and unacceptable fruit. The young man reached out and grabbed one, his fingers brushing against the smooth orange outer protective layer. "Like this one!" Kana announced as he pushed it close to Kazuma. He smiled lightly, he thought this is just what the two of them need. A day together, just the two of them. Suddenly a man from who knows where came pushing through the crowd like a mad man, but he had news to share. The man was panting frantically and sweating as if he had just exited a sauna. "H-hey everyone!" The man announced loudly, waving his muscular arms in the air. "Th-they are back! " The older man yelled almost in a relieved voice. "Who? Who's back?" An anonymous patron said out of curiosity. "Its them! Our Shinobi!" He said in a proud and noble voice.

The boy suddenly spun around frantically, he had stayed from the attack on the Orochi village for one reason alone. To take responsibility for Kazuma and Tanu and look after the young students. Even though they were quite the troublemakers they were still his family, and he couldn't just walk away from a commitment like that. "D-Did you hear that Kazuma? They're all back!" Kana said with an expression of happiness upon his face, his pearly whites fully showing in Kazuma's direction. The young genin placed the orange in his bag and placed some money on the vendors table. "C'mon! We gotta go see everyone!" Kana said in an ecstatic voice, gripping Kazuma by the shoulder and gently pulling him in the Clinics direction. 'Its been ages since I have seen everyone...' The boy thought to himself as he made the trek across the small Shinobi village.

Kazuma turned to Kana with a very guilty look on his face. He had an orange smooshed in his palm and several more splattered fruits were scattered on the ground, the vendor was busy dealing with another customer so he had not seen Kazuma's destruction of his stock...Yet.

"I'm sorry Onii-san! But shopping is booooooring" he managed to turn the apology into whining without any real effort. It was a trait the young boy had along with many other children and it showed how little the kid had grown. Instead of being guided and taught the kid was too much work, too frustrating so he had been thrown out of the academy. How could he grow and learn? When everyone just tossed him aside because he was a headache to them. No one had ever really had faith in the annoying little troublemaker. It probably could not be blamed on them, but casting him inside instead of molding him into a young man, a Kun Kumo warrior or even a Shinobi could be blamed on his teachers. They would be held accountable for whatever path this unguided kid would find, but hopefully his brother was enough of an influence to keep him from stepping somewhere dangerous...

There was a huge commotion as people cheered for the return of their Shinobi, people dropped what they were doing and shuffled off to gather outside of the clinic, to see their hero's once again, the mood would change however when the learned the fate of their glorious leader... But for now people were happy, the crowd was ecstatic as they cheered and chanted heading off to greet their Shinobi protectors. Kazuma was less than overwhelmed, although the though of Yuki coming back with her butt thorougly kicked by whoever they went off to fight was a good enough reason to get the young boy to chase after his older brother.

"Wait up Onii-san!"

Shinichi spent the evening running around the village ordering Shimagakure's people to gather for a meeting at sunset. Though fast-footed and often spending no more than seconds at each location, anybody could tell from his bedraggled state that the ANBU wasn't getting any sleep tonight.

Shinichi leaned against a corner post that marked where two sides of the village's raised platform met, bowl of plain rice in one hand. He glared at the food distastefully, tried one bite, and subsequently pawned his dinner off to the nearest stray cat, secretly hoping it would catch pneumonia, infect all the other blasted animals, and die somewhere he didn't have to clean up afterwards. Anyway, as people trickled into area, Shinichi lit a sizable bonfire and stood back, waiting for the noise to die down. His stone-cold visage scanned the crowd wordlessly, yet with an uncharacteristic energy. These people were his responsibility now, whether he accepted his role or not. With a sigh, he also acknowledged that his role was also to accept the reality of the situation. Finding Ichi could take a significant time since the Orochi village had been reduced to pebbles and there was always the factor of having to remain hidden inside a hostile country. The Rice Country soldiers were skilled, to say the least; They had resisted conquest by the mighty Fire Country.

Shinichi resisted the urge to grind his teeth when Ayumi began to throw a tantrum, only to be immediately hushed by her mother. The ANBU purposely would avoid looking her way. His foresty eyes flickered to the beach and beyond, towards the Rice Country where Ichi laid encased in stone. Oh, he would do anything to get his leader back... anything that didn't involve a suicidal rescue mission, of course. He already offered to die for the village each time he left on a mission, so what else was there? Hrmph. Simple. Shinichi would live, change his ways to be the leader these people needed. Yes, very simple...

"Shut up and listen!" the newly reformed Shinichi shouted, followed by a small curse when he heard his harsh tone, "There will be no clapping, cheering, yelling, or other annoying noises until I'm finished. As you can tell, we did not return from the Orochi village with all our soldiers. The operation was still a success. We have scattered the Orochi. It will take time until they are organized to breed enough soldiers to bother us again. Both Orochi Sachiriku and Orochi Seshiro are missing in action, as well as the pirate Ibazi Akuyiro. Eyewitnesses spotted them fleeing further into the Rice Country. Therefore, they are now wanted men and shall be captured on sight. If they show any resistance, kill them." The hardened ANBU's eyes flashed, but he couldn't keep the fury up for long before a shadow settled on his angular features. Shinichi bowed his head and his tone switched to become slower and deeper, "Our Kage-sama, Uchiha Ichi, is also missing," He paused to let the people react, then continued in a strained voice, "His clan member, Uchiha Sukotto, was in the same room and saw the Kage-sama being turned to stone before the structure collapsed. I will mount a rescue when our soldiers are healthy enough to walk to the boat." Speaking of good men, he didn't see any sign of Aya or Kana. It made sense that they didn't want to hear the devastating news twice. Shinichi trusted the pair and placed his faith in that they would mourn tonight and be ready to head out in a few days time. "For now, direct your efforts into caring for the injured. Good night." With a dismissive nod, Shinichi staggered off the stage and quickly found a bench. Staying here, surrounded by emotional people, was the last thing he wanted to do right now, but Ichi had always been around through crisis and he would do the same.
PostPosted: Fri Sep 05, 2008 11:11 pm

Maya entered the village center and skidded to a sharp halt, Baki running into her and growling. Maya's eyes narrowed - it was only Shinichi announcing the news. And now they had to wait a few days? And...Shinichi wanted them to capture or kill Seshiro!? Maya's hand flew to the black leather choker she wore, and a guttural sound escaped her throat. No! Harsh memories flooded Maya's mind ... once again, she was alone. Shuga was gone, her 'big brother' was gone, Ichi was captured - she hadn't even heard anything from Xyn and Munin, from Karite and Kore, since she returned. Had they, too, forgotten her? Well damn. Maya snarled and slunk around the shadows cast by the fire, annoyed when Baki chose to divide the crowd with his massive form and stand before the ANBU that was apparently now in charge.

Baki pushed his way through the crowd, though it wasn't very hard to do so. People moved aside at the sight of a large, moderately angry looking lion. The low rumbles in his throat carried softly, and the large beast came to stand a mere foot from Shinichi. His golden eyes were taunt, challenging, and he glared at the ANBU, aware that Shinichi was strong enough to destroy him with a single fireball. However, Baki raised his head as high as he could in a silent challenge...

...before Maya came and stood next to him, her own eyes meeting Shinichi's. With a soft snarl, Maya tugged on Baki's ears and lowered his head only slightly, and turned to Shinichi. "....I won't ever hurt Seshiro-onii-san. He didn't let me jump in'a river full'a leeches that hurt me." Baring her teeth at the ANBU once more, Maya slunk away as silently as she had come, not bothering to seek anyone out in the crowd. None noted her as duly as they noted Baki, and Maya slipped away with Baki at her heels. Where they went, who knew? But it was clear that Maya was none too pleased with Shinichi - though, she did recognize he was the best option to stand in as leader while they looked for Ichi.

Cold. Tired. The snake youth was reaching the end of his energy. His mind knew of one person that could probably give him some substance before slumber. “Where is the noodle man…” The dread head shaking whipped his head to the sides looking for that man with his flavorful udon. This action caused a small chunk of snow to fall from his dreads and slid down the back of his neck and down his spine till reaching his posterior. The cold, was an immediate wake up call as scaly skin made a small leap, unraveling the back of vest and shirt. Both hands quickly palmed out all the ice precipitation before any unruly noises could be made from his mouth.

Shisei realized that he was in a public place, so his frame had to quickly return to a form of decency. His fingers quickly straightened out and adjusted the attire. Within seconds the snake born was back to prime and proper self. Albeit still shivering. Hopefully no one saw that. Now to find that noodle man. Then the tricky viper would end this challenge with sparkle eyes.
