A short man with a receding hair-line entered the room, quietly making his way toward the headmaster. He was middle-aged, maybe 40, and obviously despised the young man behind the desk. It was plain in his eyes how he desired to be sitting where his boss sat, how hard he had worked to sit there, and how angry he was that he didn't. He had thought that he was next in line for the headmaster position until the young 'boy' entered into the faculty. The newcomer showed him up on all accounts, easily befriending everyone, including the previous headmaster. Then when the spot needed filling, it was Alain that was chosen. Alain knew the man hated him, but spoke in a cheery, surprised, tone, hoping to set his employee in good temper.
"What a surprise Dr. Londer! What can I do for you today?"
William Londer replied in a voice that didn't quite match his build. It was reedy, and a bit clipped. A voice that could annoy even the most patient of men.
"I'd like to discuss with you the fiasco I witnessed this morning on the sparring fields. I think you let that last match get way out of hand, sir." The 'sir' was added at the last second and bore no respect. Alain grimaced inwardly, letting Londer see nothing but mild curiousity.
"Do you? I thought it went rather well. It was an exciting conclusion to an, otherwise, dull first class. Didn't you think the last child was extremely talented?" Alain asked, trying to change the topic. He didn't like the thought of carrying on a conversation with the weedy man in front of him, but felt he had no choice.
"Yes, she was, but was it necessary to push her so far?"
"She pushed herself that far, Londer, I merely reacted accordingly. I was trying to make an example to the other students so they would understand what was expected of them by me. If I'd simply called it quits halfway through, I would have lost them. Is that all you wished to talk about?" He asked the question a bit rhetorically, implyin that he wanted to be left alone and bothered no more. Londer simply sighed and nodded, turning to leave the room.
Alain sat back in his chair again, imagining the things Londer muttered before he had gone from his office. It was certainly nothing he could repeat in polite company.

((Oh, sorry, I was thinking you'd want to train a bit more. I was also hoping our other teacher would take a more active role. If you all are really wanting to skip ahead, ok...Oh, and Clara: too much OOC chat. Please refrain from it in the future please.))
Two days had passed since his first class with the Freshman, and now he was making his way toward the sparring fields for their second lesson. He wasn't looking forward to it at all. As he passed by the fountain he began to compile a mental list of which students he thought looked stupid enough to pass on his assignment. By the time he had reached the now clean sparring fields almost half of the class was on the list.
He was early for once, so he sat down to wait for his students to arrive, thinking through the lesson he'd planned.

Tenma stretched as she was woken by the morning sun. Her hair was askew and her clothes were warped in dismal disarray, but that ment she had slept well. She tried not to fall back to sleep as the hot water hit her, granted that was enough to wake her up from her walking slumber. Was water was a bit hot for her, or anyone at that, and there was soon a large red burn on her stomache. She cursed herself as she dried off and got herself dressed. She was always getting hurt first thing in the morning.
Tenma slipped on her black sweat that only went half way down her calf. She had worn these since she was ten, but it wasn't evident. Next was her her back t-shirt, this actually fit. Her hair drenched her back as she wrapped her now scabbing ankle. The slightest twinge of pain let her know it would heal. The clean bandages almost began to blend in with the snow white property of her palor. After this was complete Tenma tied her hair back and she was ready to go.
Slipping her bag over her shoulder Tenma headed out to the training grounds, where her lesson would be this morning. She had her paper tucked away inbetween some pages of one of her books. She was actually using the lengthy assignment as a page marker. As she strolled down the walkways she heard the faint chatter of the early morning students. The light breath cause a shiver to crawl down Tenma's spine as it hit the water that had soaked into her shirt.
The training grounds were a welcome sight to the morning. Tenma wasn't surprised when she saw her professor sitting, waiting for the freshmen to arrive. Tenma hated that term, freshman. First off, not all of them were men, even though that was the majority of the school. Also, what made them so 'fresh', some of them had been working with alchemy for years, far from 'fresh'. A polite nod was all Tenma would spare the man, if he wanted to say something he would have to begin the conversation.

((Sorry about my dissapearance. I get distracted easily.))
It took a while the whole first night in fact to write a detailed paper on all the transmutations that were used and those were only for the first three people. There was still more than half the class left to fight. "I hope we don't have to write one of these everyday. My hand is going to fall off." She sighed and massaged her cramped hand.
The whole next day she had taken off to meditate and practice tai chi, both things calmed her and she could always think clearly when she was calm, she was pretty sure how that's how it was for everyone, but who knew for sure, the human mind was a complex thing.
After some time to clear her head she practiced a few transmutations that she had thought of while meditating. They seemed correct in theory and on paper but on paper and in theory were two very different things to the actual practice when it came to alchemy. Two new designs had actually had quite amazing results, granted they were still in work in progress stage but they seemed quite promising. She ended the day with a few recordings in her journal followed by a bit more studying and finally a hot shower to end the day.
When her alarm went off the next morning, which she had reset to have plenty of time to get to class, she was ready to go. She grabbed her messenger bag, with her class paper and journal inside, tossed her bucket hat on her head, changed into a day outfit and headed out the door and down the path she had taken two days before towards the sparring field once more.

((Sorry. I was off for a bit.))
Rather than writing the paper by hand, Riyu typed a super long essay on each one. She had learned that being a teachers pet could be a bad thing; if you made them stay up late at night reading your essay, they wouldn't like you so much. So, with her 15 pages worth of material with tiny print so it could all squeeze in, she made her way to her next lesson.
Riyu's garb was simple. She wore camouflage cargo pants and a black T-shirt with white lettering on it. The front said The meaning of life is death. The back was inscribed Don't get it? Without death, life is no longer precious. She pulled her hair back with a ponytail holder and a World of Warcraft baseball cap. She took her bag and was ready to go.
Once down at the sparring fields, Riyu noticed the two girls she had met before. The blind girl and shadow. They were both super special awesome, and she wasn't. Plus, she wasn't the kind of person who had time for 'friends'. So she pretty much ignored the fact she had ever spoken to them and watched the professor.

Tenma peered around as the people entered. The two that showed up early were no surprise. However, it was still unfit conditions to meditate. The professor hadn't said a word, but that wasn't too astounding. Unfortunately the other students showed in one big hoard. It was disturbing, some of them were apparently dating already. Tenma had to force herself not to gag. They hadn't even known eachother for a day. How desperate people were for affection that was doomed to fail.

Riyu began twitching at the 'already couples'. What the hell was their problem? Couldn't they see that chasing after anyone of the opposite gender was completely pointless?
Apparently not. But Riyu was ensured safety. In the mind of many, if you look like a freak, then you probably are. She was fairly normal, but she had auto-mail limbs. Hence, the looking freakish.
Riyu noted that Shadow looked like she was about to gag, too. It took everything not to spew.
((Spew-to eject something from your mouth, to throw up.))

Ryu, having nothing better to do than to sit around and force herself not to spew her own blood, walked over to Shadow. Screw it, she didn't care about reputation. Reputation could go f*** itself, for all Ryu cared. Actually, she had kind of already made it, but that wasn't the point. "Yo." She held her hand palm forward, diagonal from her shoulder.
Ryu wasn't good at tact and crap. But then again, who was? The candyman?
((Eesh. I'M not good at tact and crap, so of course my character isn't.))
