The beeping of the door lock reached the ears of the inhabitant of the room Suto stepped into, and the formerly unconscious body stirred on the gurney. Eyelids fluttered open, and she looked around from her lying position. This was familiar, she'd seen this before. Slowly, she sat up, moving with legs folded in front of her. Catching movement from the corner of her eye, she saw Suto. Eyes grew wide, and she searched the room for another, or anything that could help her. There was nothing, and she was alone. Last she remembered, her brother had come to rescue her. What had happened? Where was he now?

“Glad to see your awake,” Suto smiled as the door closed behind him. Taking a few steps further into the room he took a seat at the only available chair and rested his elbows on the armrest with his hands poised in front of his face. He seemed to focus on Hitsu for a moment, eyes very serious, then he spoke his voice as cold as ice. “I would like to continue our conversation from before. This time the rules have changed a little.” His eyes drifted to the window as he saw movement.

Just beyond the glass wall his associates were taking Mitsu to her room. She was unconscious and dangling from their arms in a lifeless manner. From the angle she was at it was hard to tell but it appeared as if the clothes had been cleaved from her back and blood was present on what remained. In a few minutes she was completely out of sight so Suto continued.

“I want to know more about the two gentleman that were here to retrieve you. More importantly the shorthaired one. What is his name?”

Hitsu stared at him for a long moment, afraid of what these new 'rules' might be. Then, he had asked about the ones who had been trying to get her back. "Neko?" She asked, not so much an answer, merely her wondering aloud. Neko had been there, too? Now that she tried to think about it, she had heard him as well, talking to Yuki.

Suddenly, she looked frightened again. "What's happened to them? Where are they now? Please, don't hurt them..." As expected, she sounded quite desperate. Something moved out in the hallway, and Hitsu looked up to see them carrying Mitsu past. She brought a hand to her face, whimpering. What could she have done to deserve anything like that? It only made her fear the fate of Yuki and Neko even more.

“Yes, Neko,” Suto seemed amused that his name was related to what he was. He waited for Hitsu to turn away from the window before he continued, ignoring her other questions and pleas. “Tell me about him. Where is he originally from? Who are his parents? What are his abilities? These are the things I need to know.” His voice was very commanding and left little room for argument. He was determined to get the answers he needed one way or another. “If you answer my questions,” Suto added. “I will answer yours.”

"I-I... I don't know where he came from." Hitsu explained, as calmly as she could force herself to be. "He just showed up in our village on his own, I don't know anything about his family or where he was born." She was certain that these answers weren't welcome. "I swear." She hesitated a moment, and added what info she could provide in response to the last question. "He's... A dark magic user. He uses magic, and hand to hand combat." She knew it was foolish, to be telling him all of these things. The guilt was horrible, but what would happen to her if she didn't answer? Would Neko want her to lie, and be painfully punished for it, or tell the truth and hopefully get through all of this intact?

Suto seemed to judge her lack of an answer. She was right in assuming it wasn’t welcome but what was there to do if she really didn’t know? After all, she did seem to be cooperating with his questioning now. “How did he come upon your village? How did you meet him?” He was in search of any answers he could get before he questioned the man himself. Men were always harder to crack, resilient and tough. It took days sometimes weeks; the longest had been a month and three days. Suto wasn’t sure if he wanted to be that patient.

Hitsu shook her head, "I-I'm not sure, really... He found me out in the forest one evening and brought me back home... That's all I know. He never talks about where he came from, or why he left." Fingers absently tugged and twisted at the sheets of her gurney, as she struggled to keep herself looking at him. If she looked away, he'd probably think she was lying to him.

His questions seemed to be getting him no where fast. It was rather disappointing. Despite being friends with him this girl seemed to know little to nothing about him. Strange indeed. “Well, out of fairness,” Suto sat back in his chair in a more relaxed manner. “Give me your questions.” He would answer her questions in the mean time while he thought of more of his own. Maybe her questions would clue him in to what she did know.

His questions stopped, for the time being, and his offer to answer her questioned relaxed her if just a little. "A-Are they... Alright?" She asked first, and then apparently decided to clarify. "They haven't been hurt?" That brought on one of the previous questions, "Are they here?"

Inwardly Suto’s grin grew. His exterior, however, tried to show the utmost concern. “Hurt? Of course they have been. The one you call Neko is all right for the time being and the one you call Yuki,” He paused to draw out the tension hoping to gage her reaction. “Well, he seemed a little lifeless the last time I saw him. He certainly wasn’t putting up a fight with anyone.” In truth, that’s what Suto remembered. So it wasn’t at all lying, just dancing around the facts.

The beginning of his answer, while not unexpected, worried her. His news on Yuki, as he doubtlessly had hoped for, had her terrified. "Let me see them!" She begged, already beginning to cry. "Please!" They couldn't have hurt her brother that badly, could they? She didn't want to believe it, mentally telling herself it couldn't be true. Suto made it sound like he was dead, and he had to be wrong!

“I’m afraid you can’t, my dear.” Suto went on. She had certainly taken the bait as expected. Breaking her will would be easier than he thought, just like Mitsu. “I will leave you for the time being, I will be back later. You are scheduled for an experiment later in the day and if you have any concern for Neko’s well being I would suggest you cooperate with it.” Suto stood from his seat and made his way to the door. He swiped his key card allowing the door to open and walked out without another word and left Hitsu there to sit and wonder about the state of her brother and what was going to happen to her. The door closed behind him and he made his way back up the hall toward where he had Neko and Yuki contained. Approaching the door he slid the little slot open and peeked inside.

“Well, gentleman, are we ready to work together?”

Neko heard movement on the other side of the door and looked up just in time to see the little slot shoot open. Standing to his feet he looked back into Suto’s golden eyes with his ice blue ones. Closing the gap between him and the door Neko slammed his fist into it a growl emitting from deep within his throat. “You b*****d. I will ripe out your throat with my bare hands.” Neko hissed. If there had been enough space in the slot, Neko probably would have tried it then, but as it stood he would barely be able to fit his hand through.

“Feisty one,” Suto mused. He could already tell he was going to have a fight on his hands with this one.

Suto's reply brought more tears, and Hitsu lowered her head and cupped her face in her hands. Before he left, she had heard what he'd said. She had to cooperate for Neko's sake. Neko. There was no mention of Yuki. Did that mean it was true? With Suto's exit, Hitsu didn't try to hold back her crying anymore, and began to sob.

Yuki had been sitting in silence since their arrival, aside from an occasional sharp breath or sigh. He heard Neko stir, and finally lifted his head to look to the door. His eyes were red from crying, with clear streaks down each cheek. Yuki heard something as well soon after; The slot opening in the door. He could not see Suto, but he could hear him. A pang of sadness hit him again, and he looked down to the floor. Neko made his threat, and Yuki barely spoke above a whisper. "Let me see my sister... And I'll do whatever you want."

Though Yuki had been rather quiet, Suto heard him none the less. The possibilities began to swarm in his mind. “Fine,” He agreed. “I will take you to see her on one condition.” He looked from Neko to Yuki again. “Your friend is not to be conscious when I open the door. Do you understand?”

“What?” Neko glared at Suto through the slot in the door. He was trying to be sneaky, pitting friend against friend. Turning back to look at Yuki he had a questioning look in his eyes. He knew Yuki wanted to see his sister, but was he really going to do what this man asked? “Yuki?”

One condition. Well, Yuki supposed it was to be expected. He rose from the gurney with gaze still lowered. I... Have to. He'll be fine, he can recover. Yuki tried to tell himself, looking up to Neko. Yuki's expression begged for Neko to understand, to let him do as he was told so that he could see Hitsu for what might very well be the last time. Though, Neko didn't have much time to see it, for Yuki had stepped up to him while his back was still turned. "I'm sorry." He said, and no sooner had Neko turned to question him he'd drawn back a fist and thrown a punch at his friend's face. Maybe he'd fall, fake it, so Yuki didn't have to hit him again. He certainly hoped so.
