"Be careful," Delilah whispered crouching back deeper into the shadows.
Sangula blinked as she turned around slowly. "This must be my lucky day..." she murmured. "It's so rare that a meal willingly enters my lair...Come closer," she called out in an inviting, almost hypnotic voice. "Come closer to me."

Silk couldn't help but be entranced by her voice. It called to him and held sweet promises in its tone, drawing him closer to her. What he was doing why he was there he could no longer rememeber. He walked closer and closer towards Meridian and Sangula.
Regaining enough of his senses to figure out what was going on, Meridian realized he was more free than ever because Sangula's attention was directed at another. Using what little strength he had, he gave Silk a kick in the legs to knock him out of the trance, hoping it would work.

Sangula let out a low hiss, "Knock it off, Lizard-lips. You'll scare him..."

Silk snapped out of it, and made a leap for Sangula, throwing his whole weight at her. Rocks flew and they both landed with a thud, rolling around on the ground. He decided now was a good idea to lead her on a chase and sprang up and away from her, hoping she would be angry enough to follow him outside. "I'm out of here!"

Sangula growled as she rolled to her feet. "Oh no you don't!" she hissed springing after him. No creature that dared to attack her in her own lair would live...
Delilah waited and watched first Silk, then Sangula rush past her before slipping into the vampire's cavern. "Meridian?" she called softly. She gasped seeing the fallen dragon, "Meridian! Are you alright?" She ran to his side, nudging him gently, "Meridian?"

Perfect, Silk thought. She seemed quite angry. He led her on a merry chase back out the twisted pathway, trying very hard to be swift and keep an uneven run so she wouldn't be able to catch him. "Can't catch me you nasty bloodsucker!" He prayed he remembered the correct way out.

"I'm here. I'm all right...I think. Just very, very weak. You're going to have to help me up. I think it's all from loss of blood. How can thank you for coming out after me? You barely know me." He struggled to his feet, leaning very heaviliy on her.

He's taunting me, Sangula thought in disbelief. In my own lair he's taunting me... "It'll be a slow death for you!" she called to the demon running ahead.
"Shhh," Delilah said positioning herself to better support his weight. "I couldn't just leave you with her..."

He could make out a direction that seemed to be better lighted than the others and decided it was the way out. She was fast! Silk found it harder and harder to keep steps ahead of her. At least she wasn't hurling lighttening bolts at him. Just a little bit longer he told himself.Just a little bit longer.

"But to sacrifice yourself to save me - that takes a lot of courage. I don't know how I can ever thank you." He stumbled on with her help, staying close to not quite because he absolutely had to, but because he found that he wanted to.

"Aren't you getting tired..." Sangula called to the fleeing pony. "Your hooves, they must be feeling so heavy and your eyes, I bet you can hardly keep them open..."
"Don't worry about it," Delilah whispered as she tried to remember the way out. "First we need to find the entrance to the cave. I hope Silk is alright..."

Her voice seemed to have a hypnotic quality to it. That was how he had lost control of himself before the chase had started. He needed to tune her out, so he did the one thing he could think of, and started singing to himself as he ran. There were bits and pieces of songs, nonsense verses sometimes, but they really did help keep her out. He could see the enterance now. Dawn was most definitely approached. It looked like the plan might work after all. He hoped the other two were making it out of the cave okay.

Meridian just placed one foot after the other, following her. He was regaining his strength with each step and had the feeling that his fire would come back to him soon in case it was needd against the bloodsucker.

Sangula hissed coming to an abrupt halt, her eyes burning even in the faint light of the new day. "You little vermin!" she shrieked edging back into the shadows.
Delilah stumbled hearing the vampire's scream. It was nearby. "That can not be good..."

Sangula snarled hearing other voices in the cavern, "Meridian, my dear, you aren't trying to leave me, are you?"
Delilah gulped nervously before rising up and straightening her shoulders. "Make sure you keep up," she whispered before leaping into a gallop counting on speed and the element of surprise to get them through. We just have to reach the light!
