((Hi everyone! From the last couple of pages, I gather you're at a forest road? Seems such a good time as any to pitch in. If I do any mistakes, do correct me! ^_^))
Mel breathed deeply. The forest was peaceful, and filed with useful herbs. Smiling to herself, on a private congratulation for her choice of going through the trees rather than the main road, the young elf patted her horse and leaned down once more to gather a few yellowish flowers.
Haze, the horse, was more than used to his mistress' doings. He waited patiently for her, looking around, sniffing the air for any signs of danger. "Well, that's all, I think. We can head for the road now." Her smile was soothing, her eyes wise, as she mounted and the horse started walking, weary of the uneven ground.
Then, a misc of scents reached him; of wolf and lion, and of humans too. The animal stopped promptly, not wanting to expose himself or his rider to danger.
"Yes, boy, I smell it too." The elf whispered, frowning to better her vision, but to no avail; the trees covered her path. "Wait here, I'll go ahead and scout" Without a sound, she leaped from her horse's back and started to walk in the direction of the smells. She was more silent than a squirrel; soon, she could hear voices.
Leaning against a tree, she could both hear and see the strange gathering ahead, while remaining hidden. She soon saw they were no foes, and was setting her ming on going back to her horse when a sentence made her catch her breath.
"Oh, and since we've gotten to know each other a bit, I thought I'd let you know that I'm the Avalon of the prophecy. Just a little tidbit of info as to why I might end up attacked frequently by Nightlings,"
"What? The profecy...the cure!" It all clicked in her head, and so surprised was she that she yelped and strode forward before freezing, realizing she had just exposed herself fully to the strangers.
"Great move, Arrowspeed..." She thought sarcastically, facing the weird assembly of people and animals ahead.

Sycro "Sounds absolutely evil...as a soldier of the light I must put a stop to these defilers!" He said with new found vigor. It seemed Roarin was getting ahead of himself already. "Wait you said dreams. That is some wicked powers they have then. Is there anyway to defend against them there as well?" It appeared he could learn much from this man. ' A soldier of light? .....Not an enemy I guess.' Marius shook his head. "You cannot defend against them in your dreams. Those who aren't trained to control and resist the Nightlings' wiles will fall prey to nightmares." He sighed. "The only thing to do is kill them before they attack you."

Andra had remained quiet for most of the conversation, but was soon sniffing the air. She smelled horse fur and elf. Elves were of no danger, especially now that her master was in safe hands. She remained cautious and alert, though.
Before Avalon had time to measure the expressions of her new comrades, she heard a yelp from somewhere behind her. It was a startled noise, not a battle cry. Anyhow, the noise startled her as well and she gave a small jump. She spun around. "Hello?" She said, warily. She peered through the treest till she spotted the blond hair of an elf. 'No wonder I didn't hear him,' Avi thought.

Cursing herself silently, Mel made an effort to regain a posture of dignity worthy of an elf. She took those precious seconds to control herself and to study the people in front of her. Finally, she spoke, each word cautiously measured. "I am Melissa, of the elvish tribe of Linnei." She took a bow that was little more than a nod, keeping her eyes on the girl she had heard. "I travel in search for a cure to the Nightmare Affliction, which is sweeping through our kind."
((I hope it is alright to name the village...it's not a kingdom or anything, just a small elvish town in a forest...^_^ Also, I'm not exactly sure of who's there and who isn't... sweatdrop ))

"Killing them right out sounds like a sound plan to me. Not being able to fend against their powers over dreams troubles me though." The latter part was more of a musing to himself. "Regardless of all that, these monsters have to be stopped. I wish to travel with you since it appears you know much of this enemy. My name is Roarin Vyndir." He extended his hand to the man. He figured it would be best to get straight to the point.

'Oh, it's a woman... Ah well,' Avalon thought to herself. "Hello, Melissa of Linnei, I'm Avalon," she said to the elf. "As for the Nightmare Affliction, I suppose you're talking about the effects of Nightlings?"
Andra walked over to the elf and sniffed her. She then rubbed up against the leg of the elf. "And I see Andra has taken a liking to you," Avi noted.

But if you wouldn't mind, a companion would be nice." He shook Roarin's hand. "I'm Marius."

"Well met Marius. As for my journey, well it never had a set destination to begin with." He looked down the road from where he had come and then turned towards where he was originally going, "So which way are we headed then?" Roarin was eager to get going again.

((just a warning, but sometime in the near future I might possibly be planning a Nightling attack... muahahahaaa!! Just a warning xd so be prepared!! ninja ))
Avalon noticed Soren covered up his face once the elf made herself known. 'He must really be uncomfortable with the story behind that scar,' she thought. She sympathized with him, she covered up her own tattoos for the same kind of pain. 'It makes me curious though. Just exactly what happened to give him such a peculiar scar? Few have actually seen it, and yet rumors of his cross-shaped scar always precede him.'
Avalon turned back to the elf. "Where is your village?" She asked her.

((yay! ^_^))
Nightlings. Melissa remembered that name from the indications of the man she had met, the man with the strange dagger. She nodded to the girl, and noticed the cat coming closer. Being kind to all living sentients was in the heart of every elf, ad the small feline drew a smile to her face. Such animals were unusual in her forest.
Out of the corner of her eye, the elf saw the man to her left had covered his face. She had seen the scar before she had shown herself, and it didn't bother her much. She had too much to think of to worry about anyone else's business; if he didn't want to show himself, she was happy to abide.
"My village stands in the depths of Eia forest, where only my kind delves. We lived a peaceful life, there." Her heart tightened at the memory of her home. It was the first time in her life she was away from it. "I understand this evil which has affected us is spreading through the world, and there are some who know of it and fight it. I need to find those. I heard they are gathering at the Capital, that is my current destination." "But I will follow the Child of the Prophecy wherever she leads" She thought to herself.

Karah listened to the new arrival speak. "I'm Karah. It's a pleasure to meet you. Since it seems that we are all going in the same direction, I believe we'll be spending quite some time together," she said.
