((Rime! this is for you)) Orana had wandered away from the hatching festivities, they seemed to be drawing to a close. Bout time too She thought silently to herself. She looked around the kitchen and grabbed herself a mug of hot Klah. She smiled to herself as she drank. The hatching and the hatching festivities had warn her out, She failed to impress then the meeting with the insufferable bronze rider M'xan. How he had insulted her! Right there, and so bluntly... How she had wished to punch him square in the face! She couldn't stand him!
Malathan sensed her tensing and came in flying quickly crooning for her to calm down. Malathan weaved herself around Orana's neck and nipped playfully. Followed close behind was Ithean who went nowhere without the queen. He was quite protective of her now. Ithean too felt Orana's distress and chirped.
"Thank you my sweets" she smiled to herself. Scratching Ithean's eye ridge and smiling kindly to her queen. She placed her mug of Klah down and ran her hand down Malathan's oiled leathery hide. Smooth and uncracked it was. She was pleased with the work she had done in taking care of her two firelizards. Orana smiled once more and picked up her mug of hot Klah and began drinking it. To her suprise she realized Remia and her hatchling were in the kitchen as well. "Remia!" Orana called. Orana's sudden call startled the flits and they both jumped into the air and circled a few times before settling back down behind Orana "Sorry loves." she said to them she turned back to Remia and smiled, she was happy her friend impressed and yet still jealous she wouldn't let her jealously get the better of her friendship.

"I assure you that isn't the case. I have seen the way people look at you, heard what they say about what you're doing. Many of the riders are welcoming the change just as I." He paused and sighed, "at first they might have been skeptical as I admit I was, but you have been taught well and you have overcome every thing that has been thrown in your path and more."
He had to admit however that he did feel nervous about Ariath's next flight. What if Tallith wasn't strong enough this time? If he lost to someone like M'xan - let alone M'xan himself - he'd never forgive himself. For more than anything he wanted what was best for the Weyrwoman....for Ephia.
"Since you have taken over this leadership the past turn I have seen a great many things happening. People are happy, visitors praise the Weyr, and the fantastic clutch has lifted everyone spirits. I've never been more proud to fly with Rias Weyr."
He gave a smirk, "and if M'xan and that posse of his think they can turn people to the side of the traditionalists so easily they are sadly mistaken. People here are fiercely devoted to you." Himself included.

Ch'dri meandered into the Dining hall, the call of khal strong at the moment, and aside that, he was growing tired of skittering through places and generally not associating with people. Having settle din enough to his new weyr with Kenthoth, it was high time to get to know people better.
They don't bite, Kenthoth said playfully to his rider.
So says you, one of them just might. He laughed quietly, fetching himself a bit of khal and leaning on a table, stretching slightly before taking a sip. His crystal blue eyes darted about, looking around to take in everythng.

His winged companions asleep with bloated bellies, L'mur made his way to the kitchens to fill his own stomach. He helped himself to a few sweetbreads and a mug of fresh klah and took a seat a few paces away from an unfamiliar figure-- a bronzerider, from the ribbons he wore. He toasted the rider with a smile.

Orana tuned and realixed there was another here, she turned and saw a large bronze. Malathan lauched herself off of Orana and circled above the bronze then landed infront of the rider.
"Sweet!" she called seeing the Flit fly over to the rider. Orana dashed after with her mug of klah, Orana hoped her Malathan wasnt causing any trouble "I am sorry about her" Orana apologized Ithean had followed the queen as soon as she left and circled above looking at the much larger Bronze dragon.
"Hello, guess I should introduce myself" she said smiling "I am Orana the jorneyman smith of the Weyr and a candidate." she said to the older rider. Ithean landed on Orana's shoulder then chirped contently. Orana turned her head and noticed the young weyrling. "Hey" she smiled to L'mur. Malathan chirped to Orana that it was alright. She flapped her leathery wings and landed on Orana's other shoulder.

((Kenthoth's lazying over in the weyr, simply nagging at his rider, which is nothing new as of late.))
Ch'dri watched with some interest the activities, and raised his cup to the - he ahd to look carefully, being in unfamiliar territory - ah, yes, younger green rider. "Cheers," he said, taking a sip of the klah in his mug. "Don't believe we've met, but then, I'm still fairly new here," he said smoothly. "Ch'dri, rider of bBronze Kenthoth, recently transfered over."
And a good thing, he added to himself. Heaven forbid certain things. Although he still figured it was the weyrwoman's idea to get rid fo him, he ahd no qualms. DIdn't like her, either. Least this one seemed much better.
He considered querying if he was one of the recent clutch, but thought better, shoudl this be an older rider, ti would not do to cause slight. his attention was then drawn to a female there, with flits. He grinned slightly, nodding. "Ah, a smith, always nice to see them around."

"Ahh, welcome to Rias, bronzerider," he said respectfully. And to you as well, Kenthoth! he extended, rather surprised at his own daring. "I'm L'mur, green Saranth's rider." He flushed slightly, still not used to introducing himself as such. "Hello Orana." L'mur smiled-- he recognized the girl from various candidate events.

Tiranth, love, I've already oiled you twice today. Siran admonished as she entered the Dining Hall, to the protests of her dragon. The very vain green was complaining yet again that she'd missed a spot, hadn't quite polished this section just so. Even the devotion the rider knew for her dragon could not bring her back to "finish" the job she'd already completed.
If it itches, you cannot have oiled it properly! The green was almost petulant in her tone, and Siran wondered for perhaps the hundredth time if her dragon would ever truly grow out of the sullenness of a hatchling. There were other things to worry about, though, as she neared a mixed group of people. Two of them looked familiar, the third considerably less so. Had she heard of any young, female weyrlings?

The bronze was surprised slightly, then responded. Why thank you. Surprising, to say the least, to hear such from another.
Ch'dri grinned truly now, and moved closer over to L'mur. "That was... amusing, to say the least. Dare I say you might have got his attention now." He took a good drink of klah, exhaling as the stimulation kicked in. "Quite different here, I must say, and refreshing. Even if I'm still somewhat lost at times."
His eyes spotted more movement as he flicked osme golden hair from his eyes. He gestured, succumbing to the fact he wasn't going to get to escape likely now. And he'd be admonished at doing so as well from Kenthoth.
He gave L'mur another glance, and noticing the uncomfortable naure, decided to breach the topic. "New rider, then?" Weyrlings did tend to have that awkwardness about that.

L'mur grinned, rather pleased with the bronze's reaction. "Yes," he replied simply. And with a touch of pride: "Saranth is from Ariath's first clutch. And.. you've been transferred down here?" It was times like this that made L'mur grateful for his harper training, being able to recall names, faces, and situations as needed.

He laughed quietly, his expression slightly more serious. "Yes... from Fort, actually." He grimaced then, and shook his head slightly. "I think it was more some people didn't like me around and I didn't care for them all that much. So it was something I won't complain about. Aside, guess they considered they needed another Bronze here." He shrugged slightly. "Honestly, it's much nicer here."
The cheer returned then. "Ah, yes, I'd heard about her clutch soemwhat, and in a way tis good to see firsthand. Saranth will likely be a wonderful lady, and blessed quiet well with a rider like yourself."
He took a sip, pondering.
You are too amused.
You complain I'm not enough lately. make up your mind, he replied teasingly as a smirk formed slightly on his lips. "I'm sure you're learnign the joys of being a rider already."

Siran hesitated for a moment, trying to determine whether a conversation was worth being absolutely festooned with firelizards. She avoided the noisy little things on a fairly regular basis, but thought that perhaps it would be rude to move off, now that she had already gotten so close to the trio. With an inaudible sigh, the greenrider stepped forward, leaving enough room between herself and the circle that they had created that they could exclude her if they wished.
"Greetings." The young woman half smiled, shaking her head to toss the ash blond waves of hair out of her eyes. She made a mental note to cut it when she had the chance- it was becoming too much of a hassle. Her hawk-like amber eyes darted from Ch'dri to L'mur and she said,"I am Siran, Tiranth's rider. I don't think that we have been introduced."
L'mur is the boy who hears dragons Tiranth crowed, pleased to be able to share knowledge with her rider. I am Tiranth the green said proudly, addressing the weyrling.
After a brief pause in which she contemplated the fact that the dragon had spoken to someone without any sort of warning to her rider, the said,"Sorry about her. She's been a bit off color lately." Siran grimaced lightly.

"I spent a few Turns at Fort -well, at the Harper Hall, not the Weyr- and my family's Hold is nearby. It is nice here, though. No more icy winters and freezing winds!" L'mur made a face, glad to be away from the vagarities of northern weather. "Indeed I am! Food, oil, sleep, repeat," he grinned.
"Oh!" he said aloud as the green bespoke him. Hello, Tiranth, I am L'mur, he replied, his mental tone amused. "No need to apologize. I'm -oh, she told you-" L'mur's eyes crossed momentarily. Double-talking did get confusing! "-- L'mur," he finished.

"Yes, I'm afraid she did," Siran laughed, a wry grin tugging at the corners of her mouth. "She's very pleased to meet you, L'mur. I'm certain that she'll tell you as much as soon as she gets the chance." And, sure enough- You are L'mur, Saranth's rider Tiranth purred lazily, We are pleased to have you as a dragon rider. The 'we' might well have been the royal plural with the way she spoke.

Ch'dri kept himself from alughing, bemused by the poor youth who cuold hear all dragons. A rare gift indeed, Rias certainly was blessed. "Ah, yes, terrible northern weather indeed, I grew up in it myself. part of why I am how I am now. And does sound about right, Kenthoth was about the same. Still can be, too."
His eyes went to the female rider, nodding. "Ch'dri, rider of Kenthoth," he said. "Don't worry, I don't bite, and I doubt L'mur here does either. Pleasure to meet you, Siran."
Ah, yes, always the green riders. Why did it seem he always related better with the green and blue riders more then his own? Probably because most bronzes had arrogant power-crazed riders. Least, back 'home' that was painfully true. Blue and green riders tended to be much more laid back and calmer, easier to talk to and less likely to grate on his nerves. Browns were 50/50 at best - depended.
"Much as this puts me away from my parents more, it's good to be away from there." He sipped again at his khal, slightly pensive a moment. "Ah, well, if I start thining too much again Kenthoth will be on me again." He grinned after that. "Aren't dragons just wonderful?' he said with a wink. "Sometimes like children."
Tsch, am not!
