The thing about charge... for 2 more cp, you can invest into fast caster, and fast actor, giving you 2 ap and 2 mp reguardless of what you do. So why get a skill you have to NOT use an action or a spell, to gain 2ap/mp instead of the normal one?
PostPosted: Tue Apr 08, 2008 3:14 pm

Okay.

With most people, losing a spell to save up for another one is a waste... Unless your a mage with speedy caster and such. However, if a player is stunned... Well, they will gain this MP and AP due to stuns stopping your opponent FROM making an action/spell. Mana-block 'destroys' the spell itself.

The fighter's lack of versatillity against multiple people is his downfall; the fact that he can do some damage stunned is a bit of a boost to his small damage bonus.

Anyways... What about normal circumstances? Would you still be able to attack with your magic stat?

From my view, 4 CP spend in a magic/caster abillity is more of a priority... But thats just me.

Isn't it better to do more damage when you can... Rather than a bit when you usually cannot?

This is still pending my vote.

But think of the long term situation. There are only so many times you can buy speedy, fast and skilled. After you reach that point, getting stuned will still leave you floating with nothing to do. I mean, if you're gaining 3 mp a turn, and all your spells only cost you 1 mp, you can double cast spells every turn. One stun, and now you're at 6 mp. if you have multipul ranks of speedy, you can use that 6mp on this next turn to cast 3 spells, and still have 1mp left over.

Now add charge to that, you're given 8mp... Mean-while, you're slowly being pounded by the enemy, that keeps stunning you.

At least with Magical Retonement, you can still do some damage when stuned. And don't say fighters can't attack multipul. It's only a shop ticket and 300 chips to be able to attack multipul. Granted, the attack has to kill, but why would you want to margionally weaken a bunch of enemies, instead of out-right killing 1-2?

Whats with the 'you'? Personally, my attack is higher than my magic currently...

Okay:

mage with 10 points in magic, and can cast overblast

30 dmg
*Stunned*
30 dmg
*Stunned*
30 dmg
*Stunned*
-----
90 dmg

Mage with 10 points in magic, and casts energyburst and with MR

20 dmg
*10
20 dmg
*10
20 dmg
*10
-----
90 dmg

Mage with 6 points in magic, casts overblast and with MR

18
*6
18
*6
18
*6
----
72 dmg

It evens out in the end... As long as the mage has 50% stun probablillity, he will dish out the same damage as a mage with equal points in magic, skilled caster, and MR.

You as in plural, meaning anyone slash everyone with magic score.

Sure, you're looking at the statistically POSSIBLE option. With my luck, it's much more improbable. But like I said, do you really wanna spend 6cp on something that will occasionally be useful, or spend 4cp twice, adn just have it happen naturally?

I'd rather save up for my Fighermage if your not using plural you.

Well, statistically, its only usefull after you get overblast, that is, unless there's a 4x magic

Anyways... I'll think I'll abstain from voting sweatdrop

You're a good man. I understand what you are saying. I devoloped this ability mainly because I have felt that fighters had a slight edge when it came to stuns. But I can not blame you for not wanting to vote.

And the winner is... Charge, with 7 votes! Magical Retonement was a close second with 5 votes, with the Berserker Series bringing up the rear with 2 votes. Congratulations to AMP for his creative genius, and to Malignant Defector, for bringing it to our attention!

Cocoon (3cp)-At the beginning of any round you are allowed to choose to use this ability. Once used you do not recieve any damage this round, no matter the source. However, you may not use any attacks, actions, spells or special attacks.

Perfect to gain that ap/mp you need for that ultimate round of distruction twisted !

If that means that you can use this any time in a dungeon... No; 3 CP for inpenetrable shield? Think of the PvP complaints.

And would defender or true guardian work? There not special attacks, spells, actions, or attacks.

And what about vindictive?

Sap Strength (5cp) Whenever you make a successful attack upon a single enemy you gain 1 of either Ap or Mp and they lose 1 Ap or Mp. Counts as a stun.

isn't it a little expensive, for something that might not work (since it's counts as a stun) and considering it's only 4cp to constantly gain an extra ap, or mp? I understand it's versital, in the fact you can gain either one, and that it takes the cp from an enemy, but I'd think it would either be...

Sap Strength: (4 cp) Whenever you make a sucessful attack aginst an enemy, you gain either 1 AP or 1 MP, and they lose 1 AP or MP.

or

Sap Strength: (3 CP) Whenever you make a sucessful attack aginst an enemy, you gain either 1 AP or 1 MP, and they lose 1 AP or MP. Counts as a stun.

but that's just my opinion.

Sounds fine to me.

Heres another

Communion: (3 cp) For every token in combat you gain Regeneration 1.
