As he began to dress again, Amuriel shifted her gaze away from him and watched the sky instead. She did hope he found her again, since she did want to be by him once more, but as he continue speaking, she blinked, and quickly turned back to face him, flustering as she finally wound up seeing him fully for the first time because of her suddenness.

"No-nowhere to go?" she stuttered, flushing deeper and staring at a nearby tree just over his shoulder. Trying to distract herself, she pulled out the ribbon holding her hair back and let it fall past her shoulders, fingercombing it lightly to try and remove the tangles she had gotten while swimming. If he was homeless, that was just another way he was like her, and she found it rather ironic. "Don't you have a den? I would have thought, considering you have been here a little longer than I have, that you have a den by now..?"

Nodding as he continued to get dressed, Maelthra pulled out his hair tie so that it would be easier for it to get dry while he stayed in this form. He glanced over at her when she had stuttered, only to get flustered himself as he saw her body fully again. Freezing up as he did, he quickly shook his head to snap out of it before staring into her eyes once again.

"No.. I don't," he said while managing to keep his composure, "I've been... really restless since I've re-entered the forest, and I couldn't really find a place that I could really call home... So I've just been wandering around the forest really."

Now fully clothed again, he stretched out while scratching his head and squeezing his hair again to try and get rid of any extra water that was there.

Amuriel stopped combing her hair and blinked at him, wondering and temporarily distracted from his body. "Why have you been so restless?"

She shifted and wondered if leaving right now was the best idea after all. They were both homeless and alone... why should they split apart..? She sighed and carefully sat against the tree she had been watching, her gaze on him as she thought and awaited his response. Drawing her knees up to her chin again, she leaned back against the tree's trunk and pulled her hair over one shoulder, wringing it gently.

Shifting slightly, he took a moment or two to figure out how to put the way he felt into words. As he thought on this, he sat down onto the soft dirt and leaned back against his arms once more.

"I guess... that while I accepted my solitude... I've always felt as if I was missing something... So I wandered around.. trying to find what it was that I missed... but.. now that I've met you.. I don't quite feel so restless.. "

Tilting his head at his own words, he looked at her for some time before staring up at the dark night sky above them both. For the longest time, the stars that sat there were the only things that could really put him at ease. But with all the awkward moments aside, he's felt quite comfortable with just being near Amuriel.

"So I guess I've been searching for companionship, or a friend all this time..."

Thinking about his response for a moment, Amuriel slowly nodded her head, "I see... that makes sense." She smiled, truly this time, and continued, "Well, hopefully you won't have to be so restless anymore. I will definitely be a companion for you, if you will let me.. and if you will be mine as well."

She shifted and lowered her gaze from him, "Though I have to admit, if I haven't already said, I'm homeless as well.. I haven't been back for very long, but I am having a very hard time finding somewhere to den. It could be the same reason as you, that I felt restless, searching for something or someone. To have a home feels pointless when it serves as nothing more than a place to lie your head.. you know? A true home needs to be a place of friends and family.."

As he heard her words, he nodded and smiled wider, feeling relaxed and even more at ease to hear such things.

"I'd be more than happy to have you as a friend..." he said softly.

When she mentioned her own state of homelessness, Maelthra nodded slightly once more before looking back up at the sky. The things she said were very true. And since he had neither before now, it was very likely the reason why he never stuck to one place to have as his home.

"Yeah.. I know what you mean... But.. if you're kinda sticking in this area.. then maybe this are will be my new home.. if you don't mind me living around here that is..."

Amuriel smiled and scoot closer to him. "I wouldn't mind you living around here. It would make it much easier to be able to be around you... though if you want... we can find a place where we could have a proper place to lie our heads.."

She asked the question softly, thinking. They could share a den without being mates. It wouldn't be unseemly. Just two friends who wanted companionship sharing a place to live...

Blinking, she once again realized that she still had not yet seen his true form, neither had he seen hers. That would be something they would need to remedy pretty soon, she realized, though she did not think it was a big issue.

Smiling at the suggestion, Maelthra turned more directly towards her and nodded as he focused his attention onto her once more. It would be like being roomates, as the humans would term it, which he wouldn't mind at all, especially since he wanted to be by her more.

"That would be nice... So.. do you want to try and do that now then?"

The elder stretched out in his spot once more, then tilted his head slightly to see what her response would be. Whether they went and did it now or a little later was fine with him; he was just glad to finally find someone he could relate to. Someone he could be close to.

If there's a god of fate or of companionship that put this or helped set this up... I thank them...

Amuriel let out a relieved sigh, happy he had said it would be nice. "Yes... I think it would be nice if we tried it now..."

She looked around the clearing and past it, wondering where they would find their new den. It would need to be rather large, since it was going to hold two elders, unless they slept in it in their human forms... but she thought that was unlike to happen.

As she sat near him, she once again wondered what he looked like in his true form, and she began getting more and more curious about what he looked liked really. "You know.... I still haven't seen the real you.."

Smiling wider still, he gazed at her for some time before standing up and holding his hand out to her to help her up as well. He felt fairly eager to hunt for their new home and get settled there. The thought of no longer being so restless and to be able to really relax in a place of comfort was one he really liked.

"Well then we better start looking," he said before tilting his head and blinking before chuckling a bit, "And I haven't seen the real you either... It's still a little cramped here for our true forms.. but we should be able to manage I think."

As he spoke, he just speculated how Amuriel would appear in her true form, and how she would think of him in his own. His main concern would be how she would react to his wings, since that was the thing that stood out most with him. The one marking he has in his true form was also seen in his current form so she would have already seen it by now.

"So.. shall we go ahead and get changed then?"

Nodding, Amuriel smiled. She was excited to finally find a home, and with someone she seemed to enjoy spending time with. Maybe she hadn't known him for very long, but she thought he would prove to be a nice companion and someone to help stave away the loneliness.

She pushed herself from the ground and backed away from him enough to give them both room to change. It was going to be rather cramped in the clearing, but not overly so. She wondered what he would look like and what it was exactly that made him feel as if he were mutated, but she didn't think he would be unseemly. His elven form was fair enough, and she didn't think his true form could be hideous while another side of him was comely.

"Okay..." she mumbled, nervous.

Somewhere, she was afraid he would be appalled by her true form. When she was in the human world, her elven form seemed to draw enough attention, especially by the males, but her true form always usually sent the humans running. She had begun to see herself almost as a monster, but when she returned to Di'jai, those feelings of herself began to ebb. She realized she wasn't a monster, just a creature different than a human. Still, a few of those feelings still remained, and she was afraid that he, having been around the humans as well, would look down on her in some way.

Amuriel scolded herself. Why would he look down on her when he was no different? At least.. he was no different in species. They were the same in that sense...

Taking a deep breath, she finally shifted forms in front of him. Shivering from the chill of her transformation, she dipped her neck and shook her body to spray the ice crystals from her fur.

Maelthra stepped back as well, since not only did he need room for his true form, but he knew he shouldn't be touching anything or anyone during his actual transformation. Before doing anything, he stared over at Amuriel to watch her shift forms. As he looked her over, he just smiled while he stared.

She's even more beautiful in her true form...

It seemed to him like he had been staring at her for a good amount of time before he finally snapped out of his dreamy trance. Hoping that she wouldn't find him monsterous, he nervously took in a deep breath before feeling flames surrounding his body as he shifted forms, charring the ground below him once more.

When he let out a small sigh when it was all done, he found himself standing eye level to Amuriel once more. So he stretched out lightly before tucking his wings in at his side so that they wouldn't get caught on any tree branches or whatever.

"Well then... lead the way?"

Amuriel shifted nervously, worried because he was staring at her for so long. He must think I'm horrid.. she thought. Wait..No. He's smiling... She wondered exactly what he thought of her, but she was afraid to ask. So, she lifted her head again and tilted it toward him and awaited his own transformation.

When it came, she almost gasped. He did have wings! They were grand leathery things, it seemed, and she was curious to see them stretched out in their fullest. She wanted to ask him to fly for her, but she didn't want to embarrass him, considering he seemed sensitive about his unusual form. She, though, thought his wings were amazing. She couldn't imagine the freedom being able to fly must bring him.

Smiling, she bowed her neck toward him again and nodded. "Alright." She paused, wondering if she should mention anything at all about his appearance.. how he was indeed as handsome as she had imagined, but she was afraid of speaking more about him. Her previous compliments hadn't exactly went smoothly.. So instead, she decided to hold off on more compliments for now and turned and looked back at him, grinning, before heading off between the trees in search of their new home.

Tilting his head while shifting slightly, Maelthra wondered how exactly she thought of him in his true form. She hadn't said anything negative or positive, so he was glad that if she didn't like his appearance that she had kept to herself instead of mock him or whatever.

Grinning nervously, he nodded to her before gazing at her for some time again while she started the search for their home. She really was very attractive, and he hoped that no one would ever look down on her for her appearance. There was just no way that she could ever be seen as ugly or hideous in any sort of fashion.

So on he went to follow her, silently keeping an eye out for any sort of cavern that would suit them well in their true forms. There were a few smaller burrows in the area, but they were much better suited for a single adult dragonfly than for a pair of elders. But it wasn't too long before they did manage to find a place large and homey enough for them both.

It resided at the bottom of a small waterfall, with half of its entrance angled away from the falling water. There was also some land and foliage at the mouth of the cavern, so they wouldn't need to swim to enter or exit every time.

Approaching the entrance, the black winged elder peered in, nodding as it was definitely roomy enough to house them both. So with a grin, he glanced back at Amuriel to ask, "How's this place?"

While he waited for a response, he stretched his leathery wings out, as he hadn't had much of a chance to do so during their trek through the forest.

Examining the cave, Amuriel found it to be very well suited for them both. It was decently roomy and so would be able to hold both of them adequately. Plus, the location was beautiful. Being a water element, it would be amazing to be able to live near the domain she was born under.

"I think it's perfect," she replied, smiling and turning to face him. As she did, she noticed him stretching his wings, and she walked back toward him, her attention caught once again. Tilting her head, she suppressed the urge to touch one of his wings. They really were large, and in her mind, they were magnificent.

"Your wings don't make you hideous, you know.." she said quietly, deciding to chance complimenting him again. She sat down carefully in the entrance and watched him, staring at his wings.
