Chapter 5
-Gerard’s POV-
“Oh s**t!” Asia’s disgruntled shout disrupted my thoughts. She seemed to have a talent for that.
“What?” Ray asked, plopping a french fry into his mouth.
“I left my purse in Calculus,” she groaned, and lifted her head off me once again.
”Why is this a need for screaming?”
“Well, in order to get my purse, I have to get through the popular b***hes, including that a**hole, Bradley, so I really don’t want to have to do it.”
“Why don’t I go?” I suggested. She smiled in return.
“No,” she told me plainly.
“Why not?” I inquired.
“Well, after what Bradley saw earlier, you’re probably number one on their hit list right now. I don’t think that’s something you want to deal with, am I right?”
“Alright,” I replied with a small sigh. She got up silently. Her movements were fluid, similar to that of a feline’s graceful steps.
“I’ll be back in a minute.”
She disappeared within a second. She was already halfway across the courtyard by the time my brain registered she was no longer above and to the left of me. I blinked in slight astonishment. It was either my reflexes were extremely fast or mine extremely slow. I turned back to the group to see them all watching me penetratingly, curiosity written on their faces.
“So,” Amira started, continuing her incessant staring. “What do you think of Asia?”
”She’s cool,” I said. “Really nice and smart.”
“And?” Jamia persisted.
“And what?”
“Do you like her?” Casey asked blatantly.
“As a friend.”
“Gerard that is the oldest trick in the book. Tell us the truth, or else.”
“Or else what?” I asked incredulously.
“Or else I shall attack you with my spork of doom!” announced Amira, lifting her plastic utensil.
“Dun dun dun!” Casey narrated.
Just then, a deafening screech was heard from inside the school building. It was a piercing, ear-shattering noise that echoed through the atmosphere.
“What was that?” I asked, looking frantically every which way.
“I – I don’t k-know,” Casey responded, her voice shaking and stuttering.
I didn’t listen to anyone’s suggestions or protests; I was up and away from that table in half a second. I sprinted past the pavilions on the cobblestone pathway, trying to get closer to the source of the voice, similar to earlier. Only this time it could be dangerous and terrifying. I squeezed through the swarms of students and slipped through doors on the side that no one had the wit to use.
“Asia!” I screamed. No response could be heard from any direction.
-Asia’s POV-
I ran through the hallways as speedily as possible to reach my destination faster. I finally made it to the Calculus classroom after no less than fifteen seconds, and twisted the knob. It was locked.
“Damn it,” I swore. My fingers fumbled within my hair until I found a loose pin lost in the short strands. I slid it into the knob and worked it around until I heard something click and the door gently swung open with a creaking noise. Luckily, I saw my purse on the chair I normally sat at and grabbed it. I made it out of the room and into the hall, anticipating to make it back to the table where everyone was gathered before lunch was finished. Unfortunately, luck was never on my side.
-Bradley’s POV-
I noticed her leave her little clique just a minute ago to go into the school. So why couldn’t I find her?
I’d searched every hallway. Every bathroom. Every corner. Hell; I’ve even checked behind really large poles. And yet still, nothing of hers could be found. Now it was getting to the point of ridiculous.
I was getting ready to give up my search for her to get back to my spacious table by the huge glass window, when I heard someone humming a familiar tune. It was by a band Asia was really into, called… Iron Maiden was it? Well still, I’d recognize the tune since she sang it so much, and the voice could only belong to one.
I smiled maliciously as I hid behind a pole. Obvious, I know; but still, she seemed too absorbed in something to realize what was going around her. She was too naïve to figure out what she was going to have to do within the next couple minutes.
She rounded a corner, the corner closest to where I stood, and my breathing became slightly ragged and uneven. Damn it, she always does this to me. She stopped, obviously hearing my frantic breaths, and looked around, hoping to find the source. Luckily, she never did, and continued on her course. My vicious, hungry smile grew.
Soon Asia, I thought violently, I will have you.

Bradley's a creep isn't he? Comment!
