Liam's powers could have been proved uneffective on direct attack, but he wasn't about to give up that easily. Silently, he climbed to a tree and merged himself between the leaves, looking at the battle beneath. He could see the doll-girl knock out an enemy, Namine blasting the floor, and Anne now with a golden quarterstaff parrying another ogre fiercely. The others were closing in, and he lost no more time.

Focusing on the shadows, he drew up a large orb of it he then divided into smaller bits and sent towards the fiends. The small dark clouds covered the ogre's faces, who found themselves blind and confused. "Be weary, they'll get angrier!" He shouted at the group, while working hard on focusing the shadows. keeping them on several, moving targets was now small task, but it seemed effective, as the ogres were roaring and hitting the air, and even each other, in a chaotic fashion. The photographer couldn't help a smirk.

Kiyoko decided quickly not to care about how it happened at the moment; it was a power, and it was working! She wasn't defenseless anyomore; the miracle had come! And just in time, for she saw two more ogres coming towards her, roaring in pain due to the shards thrown by the photographer. She tried the same stance again, and the orb again started a roulete-like spin. This time, however, it was now blue, and she felt a cold blue beam rise from within the orb, hitting the monster and something covered it. She looked (after a bright light from the blast had stopped blinding her), and with a horror drawing onto her, one of the ogres was incase in a sheet of ice, obviously dead but still encased in a icy state. The other ogre looked from friend to foe, a bit fearful, but then it charged none the less. She took the same stance, and after the spin again, it was orange, and the same orange blast from before knocked out her other foe.

Timmy wasn't moving fast enough for Josh's liking; he already heard loud crashes, shouting and other strange sounds coming from the other side of the trees that were now hiding Josh from the view of the others.

"Be wary, they'll get angrier!" Josh broke out in the clearing directly behind the ogres. All the conscious beasts were thrashing around and clawing at their faces trying to remove thick black clouds that covered their faces, although one was smashed up against a tree trunk. Directly across from this poor guy, Kiyoko stood marveling at her staff.

What the hell happened here? How did that tiny girl happen to throw a monster that far, that hard to smash part of the tree trunk? Does this have anything to do with powers?? The boy shook his head, erasing the thoughts and trying to think of what he could do (he doesn't yet realize the light longbow and stave on his back). His eyes found a nice sized boulder about the size of a laptop from Earth.

His boots padded softly across the lush green grass to where the rock was placed. He curved his back up and bent his knees, and heaved the stone. With a few grunts and straining of muscles it started to come off of the ground. Once Josh started to lift the boulder it seemed to get easier, the adrenaline had started and the boy was ready for anything.

He chose his target carefully: the ogre closest to him wasn't really doing anything about the shadow on his face, it was as if he had already realized that it was useless; this made him an easy target for a clobbering. He didn't even suspect it. Josh crept up making sure not to make any sound and carefully lifted the piece of earth over his head and than simply dropped the heavy thing on the ogre. The green guy seemed to crumple even before the stone touched him. His knees buckled and his body fell right on top of where his legs should have been.

Josh just stood there stunned that the rock had done so much; his arms lingered over his head, still in slight shock that he could have possible killed someone...er, something.

Anne finally knocked the ogre she was fighting to the ground, after a harsh fight of his raw force against her agility and untried strength. Still marveled at the abilities of her new body, the girl was starting to get comfortable with it; sensing another foe behind her, she span around and blasted him with a strong jet of fire. This time, the adrenaline and battle heat made it a big, focused one, and the beast fell down screaming in pain.

The girl didn't dwell on it, however; noticing the ogres numbers were dwindling, she charged against another one. The quarterstaff moved swiftly and smoothly, and all her body seemed to follow suit, in a strange succession of graceful ducks and blows, leaps and turns that resembled some kind of a dance.

The ogres were rampaging, hitting in desperate pain and confusion from their blindness. It made them less accurate, but more fierce and borderline berserk. Leaning behind to dodge a club that would have ripped her head off, Anne found herself able to put her hands on the ground and used the motion to make a cartwheel backwards, kicking the arm out of the ogre's hand as she raised her feet and landing securely at a more central position. She smiled inwardly; she had never, not even as a child, been able to do that sort of stuff.

Anne had done a weird kick move that landed on an ogre's hand, making his club fly into the air. By now, Josh had realized that it was a life-and-death-situation. He had to do what he had to do and with strange agility from his new elf body, he dashed towards Anne's foe.

Disbelief seemed to be spreading across his face that he had actually been disarmed by this little, in comparison, girl. Josh stepped on a twig on his mad dash over and the crack echoed in the air. The still semi-blind ogre snapped his head in the small elf's direction. While he was still a few feet away, the elf started to bend his knees - priming for a powerful upwards spring.

When Josh found himself pretty much on top of the ogre, he stopped pumping his legs to propel forwards and instead jammed his legs to fly upwards. His arm went from being slack to being locked into place; his palm facing upwards directed at the beast's nose. It seemed to take forever for Josh to travel the distance up the ogre's body to its face, but finally the bone-jarring "CRACK" pounded Josh's ears as his palm thrust the ogre's nose into...never mind.

Again another ogre went down, dead. Josh gave a weak smile to Anne. The high-pitched sound of an arrow slicing the air reached the elf a little too late. The sound of steel piercing skin, hitting bone. At first it only felt like a sting, his left hand reached across his face to touch the shoulder-blade on his right side; it dabbed a liquid and he brought it in front of his face. The warm crimson covered his index and middle fingers.

Now seeing the blood apparently sent a reaction to Josh's brain that he had actually been hit! The pain hit like the blow from the skateboarder should have, quick and strong. His knees buckled and he found himself with one knee on the ground and leaning on his other leg (he's in a semi-kneeling position).

Kiyoko had finally gotten the hang of the staff; it was like that pokemon show with Clefairy, with the randomized attacks from the staff....well, that she could get from it. She now darted across the battlefield, leaping high above an ogre and blasting it in the face with a orange light. So far, it had been only orange and blue, blue being ice and orange just being a powerful beam. Scanning the area after escaping from two of them (but not attacking them), she saw someone was down.

It was Josh, the boy from earlier. He had taken a hit to the right shoulder blade, and was now kneeling in pain. She ran to him, and knelt down beside him. She wished she could do something for him, the blood beginning to cover his whole shoulder...

As she went to examine the neck, something in her mind told her to place her hand ontop of it and concentrate. She didn't know what to do at first, but she decided to try it none hte less. She concentrated, eyes shut, and a glow shown from beneath her hand. She wanted to help him, and she thought of this as someting amazing happened. Both patient and onlooker felt a sharp sting, and she removed her hand. Now this was a power all her own, and not by the staff nor randomized....the boy's wound was gone, completely healed, as if nothing had happened.

She smiled. It was healing powers; it was something in most RPGs, she had learned from playing games. A healer, someone that another relied on to keep from dying, or at least lessen the damage. This was very intersing, but now that there was pain...it was no dream. "You ok?" she asked him gently.

Namine smiled with pleasure as she noticed her trident held awesome power. She blasted the ogres that headed in he direction. As the blast hit them it spread through out their bodies leaving nothing but ash behind. "Well thats what happens when you underestimate you foe." She looked aound the area to see everyone involved in the fight in one way or the other. She saw Josh go down and scanned his body to see the wound he received. "s**t what happened?" She said as she ran over to the boy. Someone had to be able to heal in the group. After all no video game heroes would be complete without a white mage or something or other.

Shortly Kiyoko appeared and administered some type of healing. Namine decided eveything was fine here and joined the fracas once more.

((We should really develop some posting order. I've had to edit my post multiple times cause when I post i find someone doing something similar to what I was doing with a character. I just saw it happen with kiyoko, me and, Selphie. Just a suggestion..might be hard to do..))
PostPosted: Wed Nov 14, 2007 6:30 pm

((I agree. I noticed that we both posted at the same time, with something similar. We need some sort of rule for that.

@surfdude: Uh, what do you mean? confused ))

((yay for simultaneous posting... sweatdrop ))

Anne had seen the boy ran past her and finish the ogre, and retributed his smile. Then, her face paled as an arrow flew straight into his right shoulder. "Oh my!" She quickly approached him, and was checking the wound, deciding it wasn't lethal, when the cat-doll-girl she didn't remember the name came hurriedly and healed him.
"Now that's a cool power!" She noted with a slight smirk of relief, getting up and facing more opponents. "Come on now, Josh, let's finish this!" Adrenaline rushed on her and once again flames flickered from her body and weapon as she charged one of the last standing ogres.

((Sora, could you just tone your powers down a little bit? Just a bit, please. It's not as exciting if you can solve everything out so quickly... wink ))

((I'm talking about the arrow. The shaft of the arrow, you know??))

((I think people are just...rushing into things a bit. Remember where you are in the setting...for example, if you both were busy fighting ogres it would be a slick chance you'd see Josh get hurt so quickly (not that I think it was wrong or anything - just an example).
and yes, when several people are RPing in real time simultaneous posting is a problem...what order do you suggest? maybe Anne - Josh - Kiyoko - Namine? or any other?))
PostPosted: Wed Nov 14, 2007 6:38 pm

((@spehie: Bah, I was worried that I would accidently do that at some point. Sorry, it's a bit late over here, and my brain tends to speed up. My bad. sweatdrop

@suferdude:Oh, now I know what you're talking about! Eh, I dunno, we could just pretend that she pulled it out. sweatdrop ))

As Kiyoko left the boy, she noticed that the staff suddenly didn't work. Wait, what just happened? It's not working! she thought in panic, and hid behind a tree as she realized that something must have happened. Perhaps she used up it's power somehow. Oh, and just when she thought she had understood the darn thing! Now it's back to square on as she hid helplessly.

((If we're nto ready, then just ignore this story part of the post.))
