Erica smiled, "me too." She stroked a finger along the baby's face, watching her yawn and stretch. The baby's eyes started to blink open, they were a bright crimson color and immediately locked onto Scott.

Erica smiled, "I know you're freaked, Scott. You can't hide that from me." The baby's eyes switched to Erica, studying her, Erica studied back. "Hmmm, has her father's eyes. They can be....startling.....to some people." She blinked, and glanced around with an attention that was not normal for brand new babies.
Erica smiled, "She's going to be a clever one...and quite the pretty little thing too."

Eulalia_Danae Erica smiled, "I know you're freaked, Scott. You can't hide that from me." The baby's eyes switched to Erica, studying her, Erica studied back. "Hmmm, has her father's eyes. They can be....startling.....to some people." She blinked, and glanced around with an attention that was not normal for brand new babies.
Erica smiled, "She's going to be a clever one...and quite the pretty little thing too." A child was born. The gift of life. One of the most holy and revered things anywhere. The last bit of magic normal people could make. And this child was special. A baby's first sight is usually the doctor, or possibly the mother. Some people say who they see first is who they affixiate themselves with for life, who they turn to when they have trouble, who their natural guardian is. This child's first sight was neither doctor nor mother. It was him. The moment the child opened her eyes, she saw a presence. She saw a black-cloaked figure, the hood down, revealing a green, horned head, sharp features, and a face that had seen too many years. The figure stared back at the child, invisible to all but the new-born. And he smiled.

kitty came into the room, a robe from home over the hideous gown. "I heard and I snuck out of my room. Damn doctor doesn't know what he'd talking about." she sat on the edge of the bed and tried not to loom over erica to see the baby, though she really wanted to. "I brought gifts mommy" she said, presenting a small budel of baby clothes. "Made them myself. where's daddy?"

She held up the baby so Kitty could get a better view. Erica looked at the clothes with a grin, and laughed, "How did you know it would be a girl? Oh, this one is so cute."
She looked up from the clothes, "Daddy had to get his hand fixed, it was broken..."

Arch strolled into the room, toting a back-pack, his wings folded up. He smiled as he saw Erica holding the baby.
"Ah heard yeh were uhp tah somethin'. Ah guess this'd be iht, hm?" Arch said as he walked by the bed setting the back pack down. He made sure the doctors wern't listening before he leaned in close.
"The ale's in the main pouch, and the smokes and lighter are in the side compartment. They're buried under a blanket, along with a gun." Arch smiled as he leaned up, waving to the doctor that was giving him a funny look.
"So, yeh gaht a nhame fer 'er yeht?"

Xeen's gaht ah laht tah leahrn." Arch shrugged, leaning against the wall. "Oh, ahn there's a bahtle fer the kihd in there, too. Ihts gaht a weaker whiskeh in iht, donna worreh." He said just loudly enough for Erica to hear.

Xeen returned several hours later, much to the doctor's dismay, his hand bandaged. He instantly saw the baby, and smiled.

Erica nodded to Arch's comment about the hand. Then gave him a scowl, "I am not giving my baby whiskey."
Her scowl turned into a smile as Xeen walked back in, his hand bandaged. The baby's eyes locked onto his, both sets the same shade of red.
