"I'm Idhril," Idhril announced with a giggle from Lore's shoulder. "And over there is Silver dear!" she added, pointing to Silvrendir where he was now sitting on the desk in the middle of the room. "He's just new," she told the queen solemnly. "He's my big little brother."
Silvrendir grilled and waved, one wing tucked tightly against his back, the other open and wrapped around his shoulder.
"Silvrendir," Elnara corrected Idhril with a smile, reaching over to poke her nose teasingly. She looked to her grandmother. "Idhril can't pronounce his name properly," she explained, "so she calls him Silver dear."
She wondered if it was a good idea to have let Storm and Starr run after Lin, but they had promised to behave. She wasn't at all worried about Skye, though, Skye had a tendency to wander, and was always able to find her way back - somehow.
Starr grinned as she caught up with Lin. "We're coming with you," she explained as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. "We want to see where you're going!"
"Yeah," Storm agreed. "Mama said we could explore when we were here, so that's what we wanna do! Besides, we're not allowed to use magic while we're here."
Which was a shame, really, because he had been able to see such beautiful threads around Haradhel's hands ...

Lin, as much as she would hate to admit so wanted Earendil to herself, but if Elnara said they could, it wans't like she could say no. Besides, she heard what sort of trouble the two had done, and maybe it wasn't a good idea to leave htem by themselves.
"Okay," Lin replied back, "I'm going to see a friend," she explained as she continued to head towards the dining hall.

"Idhril and Silvrendir are the youngest," Lore explained.
So he wasn't all that suprised she hadn't heard of these two quite yet.
"Hmm... where did the others go to?"

"Skye went off with Haradhel and Elrohir," Elnara replied, "and Storm and Starr followed Lin ... they promised they wouldn't use their magic at all here, so I'm not to worried about them They can't get lost, there are too may guards around to help them - and it really looks as though Lin knows exactly where she's going."
"Can I go 'splore, too, Mommy?" Celebor asked eagerly. "I wanna see everyplace here! Can I?"
"Neat!" Storm grinned, nonplussed. "Maybe then he'll be our friend, too!"
"You're very lucky, Lin," Starr said solemnly. "You got to come here before, and you know people here already."
She looked around at the enormous halls. "And you know where you're going," she added.

"Why don't we get something to drink?" Atalya suggested, stepping to the side and motioning for them to follow her. "Perhaps we'll find some of your other brothers on the way," she added to Elnara. "Mikhail will be especially pleased to see you, I think, and Lúthien was also looking forward to seeing you again."
She started walking, leading them towards the sitting room. "Why don't you tell me a bit about yourself, Lore?" she said aimiably. "I have to admit, I've been curious about you since I heard about you."

"I was here for I think... three weeks," Lin replied back, "So I got to run around a lot while eveyrone else was busy."
She took another turn and hoped that someone left the door to the dining hall open, she didn't have Nina to help her open it.

Lore took Elnara's hand before following Atalya to the sitting room. He had to think about that, he wasn't really one to talk about himself, and it wasn't like his life was interesting. At least no in the present and there were a few things about the past he'd rather not get into.
"Well, I work at the public library in the city back home. I tend to do research and translations most of the time while I'm there."

Elnara squeezed Lore's hand and smiled warmly as she walked next to him. On the whole, the trip was (so far at least) going far better than she had ever dreamed it might. Of course, that probably had something to do with Elrohir's girlfriend - no, fiancee. He had changed so much ...
"Lucky you," Storm murmured again. "Is he a lot of fun, your friend?"

Ah, scholar, linguist, and possible historian.
"It's a worthy profession," Atalya smiled, nodding slowly. "Do you enjoy it?"
She led them down the hall. "I wish I had more time for books," she said wistfully. "As it is ..." She shook her head sadly.

"Well... I think so," Lin replied back knowing that some people would have thought it boring or insane to do what they did sometimes, "That he's fun," she murmured.
Her eyes lit up seeing that the door was indeed open as she squeezed through, which wasn't hard at her size before continuing to the table. She looked around to see if there was anyone else here that she might recongize.

Lore nodded in a reply, "Very much," he smiled, "Otherwise I wouldn't have stayed as long as I have. There is always something new to read up on."
New theories, new places and even new races, the world of the learned never was without its surprises.

The queen looked at Lore thoughtfully. "Perhaps you should speak with Mikhail and Sir Valdemar," she murmured. "You remind me very much of them ..."
She turned to Elnara and explained, "Mikhail is also a scholar, linguist, and historian now. The boys have all found their calling in life ... for the most part. Though, when you were last here, I believe only a few of them had ..."
Sitting at one end of the table (the end furthest from the door) there was a tall elf. He wasn't eating, but appeared to be making a list of some sort. It wasn't Eärendil, but someone who looked very much like him - it was in fact his elder brother, Daeron, who was at the castle for once. He was rarely there anymore, he was usually traveling somewhere or other.
His hair had grown - a lot - and was far longer than his brother's. The black tresses reached down past his waist, but he kept it carefully braided in the elvish fashion, and it didn't get in his way ever. Like his father, he was tall and covered in well-toned muscles, though his were from fighting and training rather than working in the forges. His expression though was far kinder than his father's, and in that respect he took after his mother.
He blinked as he heard someone enter the Dining Hall, and looked up to see three tiny (tiny) children entering - a human and two angels. He blinked again, unsure as to what he was seeing. He had heard descriptions of children this small, however, and he wondered if the tiny human child might be the one who his brother was so fond of.
"Hello," he called out in English, setting his quill down and peering at the children. "Who are you?"

"I see," Elnara nodded thoughtfully, smiling faintly. How her brother must have grown by now ... he had been but twelve years old the last time she had seen him, and she had a niece now, who hadn't even been born the last time she had been here, who was nearly her age. She could only imagine how old everyone else was by now.
She turned to Lore. "You should see Grandmother's library," she smiled at him. "There are some amazing books in there ..."
Storm looked up at the tall elf who had spoken to them, and grinned. "Hi!" he called back, waving cheerfully. He pointed at Starr. "This is my sister, Starr!"
"And that's my brother, Storm," Starr added, smiling as she and her twin fell back into their old routine. It had been a while since they had introduced themselves that way, but then, it had been a while since they had needed to introduce themselves at all.
"And this is our Aunt Lin!" Storm added, pointing at Lin and grinning. "She's our aunt because she's our Mama's sister even though she's little like us!"
"But who are you?" Starr asked, tilting her head curiously as she gazed at the kind-looking elf in front of them.

Lin looked thoughtfully up at Daeron, not knowing who he was, for she had never seen him at all. Though he did look an awful lot like her dear friend, she mused on this as the twins introduced themselves and her.
Finally she spoke, "You look a lot like Earendil."

"Hmm..." Lore looked thoughtful, there was something, books he hadn't read and people who had just as much experience (or even more) than he did, "I should really consider doing that. Just out of interesting of course," he chuckled since he was known to work far too hard back home.
When was the last time he just did so for the sake of doing so? Probably not since he met Elnara, but then again there were more interesting things than books after he met Elnara.
