ERASERHEAD!!!!!!!!

You laugh during Eraserhead? I never knew David Lynch's masterpiece was meant to be viewed with the same frat boy derision as other odd black and white classics, like Glen or Glenda or Plan 9 From Outer Space.

haha, I laugh at more un'funnier stuff than that! haha

DEATHWISH 3 and 4, the best action movies!

The funniest horror movie I've *ever* seen is most likely Evil Dead 2 biggrin ead By Dawn. The whole thing plays like an old stooges short, while still packing enough of a whallop to still have scary moments.

As for unintentionally funny, I'd have to go with the Child's Play series and a few of the Nightmare On Elm Street flicks.

Now, to tackle the ongoing Wonka debate...

Gene Wilder is massivly creepy in the original Willy Wonka. Personally, I think that it's much truer to the books, I mean afterall, the screenplay was done by Roald Dahl himself and not by someone who thought they were 'staying true to the original vision'. I mean, who're they to assume that they know what's better for the story than the guy who concieved of it in the first place? I love Tim Burton but that's just downright arrogant. It's been a peeve of mine since the remake came out.

But I digress. Wilder's Wonka was a complete madman, go back and watch the film again, paying close attention to everything he does and says. Some of it's so subtle that it can be missed, and some of it...not. He seems so out of touch with reality at times, that it's unsettling. For instance when Augustus is drowning, what does he do?

'Do Something!'

'Help..police...murder...'

'The suspense is terrible....I hope it'll last."

Totally unconcerned...it's wonderful. I think if someone gave the character a machete or something he could have gone on to give Freddy Krueger a run for his money.

Personally I love Dog Soldiers and the Evil Dead trilogy.

I can't resist commenting on the Wonka thing. The original is far superior to the remake. Wilder is an awesome Wonka and makes the character as bizarre as the character's supposed to be. I love Depp for his acting, but he totally missed the boat in the remake. Wonka was never meant to be some freaky Michael Jackson clone. I was thoroughly disappointed in this movie. So it's got some freaky neon colours; nothing beats the original boat ride, I tell you. mrgreen

I thought Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 was funny. Whether or not the comedy was intentional, you decide. Cho Top's voice annoyed me immensely though.

I think the funniest thing I've ever seen was The Seed of Chuckie, I can't tell if they were trying to be funny or not, but it still made me laugh.

Why has no one mentioned Gremlins???
The hilarious scene where they drive a snow-plough through Mr and Mrs Futterman's house, with that great theme tune in the background.
And the bit where Mrs Deagle goes flying out of the window in her stair lift??
Gremlins was just brilliant!

Also, Shaun of the Dead and Beetlejuice. (We can call Beetlejuice a horror comedy, right?)

BUt if you haven't seen Gremlins, I recommend you do! It's what you call a horror comedy!

I've never considered Gremlins to be a horror, probably since i fell in love with it from about the age of 3 or 4 so it was like a childrens movie to me. I only found out it was a 15 (in the UK) a few months back, it shocked me like crazy, but i always thought it was cute, haha

Me too! One of the reasons why i love it so much is because I grew up watching it. I was quite shocked too, at the rating. Maybe it's because of the total dis-respect for Christams the Gremlins show, and kate's story of how she discovered that santa wasnt real, that gave it a high rating?

I actually haven't seen it in a while, but i'd guess it's more along the line of them actually being Gremlins and destroying places...maybe small children can't handle it? I can see why Gremlins 2 had the rating though, especially with the Marilyn style one...that freaked me out a LOT haha

I'm not surprised! Im not sure which country you come from, but over here in Britain Gremlins 2 has been put down to a 12.
