(( Bump. Oh, crap. Now we'l have less people here D: Oh well. :3 ))
Linus looked around, looking for provisions, he wandered through the streets and into homes, taking the cloth there. "Hmm.. let's see.. this cloth should be enough for this mission.." Linus said to himself, bashing an undead that was walking towards him. "Now for some food.. the shop's stocks won't last for long, so we'll have to get more food from somewhere..." Linus mumbled to himself, walking around the sall village looking for food. Suddenly a hoe appeared beneath Linus and a Spide lunged out and grabbed him. "Wh--?!" Linus got out before being pulled down into the eternal darkness in the hole with the spider.

((Hi all... there's no way to subscribe to a thread in the guild forums is there?))
Cedric hiked to the top of the hill. As he looked down towards the village, he took off his hat and scratched his head, making his hair even messier than it had been. "Hey... it looks like there's been a battle here!" he said to himself. "I wonder what enemy they were fighting?" Putting down his staff, he pulled a spyglass out of a pouch at his belt, and looked through it. "Seems to be... giant spiders of some sort! And... some sort of humanoid... undead? I've got to get a closer look!" He put away the spyglass, pulled the hat back onto his head, picked up his staff, and started down the hill towards the village, whistling as he went.

"Silly Elf-Lady! We're not looking for mealted metal... We're looking for weapons!" he said cluelessly to the non-elfish human. "Use your head. We have to go the other way. If they kept their weapons near the super-hot metal, then the weapons would melt." He knew that what he was saying was compleat BS, but he wanted to see what she would do in the face of his superior-yet-inferior logic.

As Cedric reached the village, he bent to get a closer look at some of the dead creatures on the ground. He picked up a notebook and pencil which were hanging by a cord from his belt, flicked to a blank page, and started making notes and sketches. "Looks almost human... but where the arm is severed, the flesh seems to have been already dead... yep, definitely an undead of some sort..." Then he heard a voice other than his own... something about weapons and hot metal? Looking down the street, he saw a couple of people talking in the middle of the road. "Maybe they know what's happened here... Hello! You two!" He set off towards them.

Acarian sighed. "They would first smelt the weapon, then put the weapon aside, it's kinda obvious that they wouldn't put the newly smithed weapons RIGHT beside the fire. There's a chance that the blacksmithes are finished several weapons...we can get some then." she replied to his...logic and continued walking towards the smell of molten metal. She heard a voice and turned around, seeing a scholar, in an ordinary student uniform walking towards them. "Oi it's not safe here." she called.

Cedric caught up with the others and walked with them. "What's happened here, do you know? What are those creatures, and who killed them? Are there any still roaming around? Who are you, soldiers or something? What are you looking for? Why do you say it's not safe? Wh..." Cedric paused as he noticed the expression on the lady's face. "Uh, sorry, I get a bit carried away sometimes. Let me introduce myself. I'm Cedric Hightower, student of Damoren University." He tipped his hat politely. "I'm researching the creatures of Twilight."

((Naaaaa. This one is really slow anyway! ninja ))
"'Creatures of Twilight'? Sounds cool." He said puting his hands behind his head. "What are they? Nevermind, You can tell me later." He suddenly had one of those apiphany things he's heard so much about. "How long has this town been under seige? A week? If it's been that long, why is the smelt still up and running? What's keeping it going?" This one he honestly didn't know. He doubted that the heat could last for a week before they even got there.

"I'm Acarian Hawk, and this is Jack er...sorry I didn't catch your last name." she awkwardly said. Acarian blinked, the facts suddenly hit her. "Great Mithros! The smelt...it shouldn't still be running after a week of seige, unless the blacksmithes found some way to defend themselves. The more the reason to go there quickly so we can find out, come on!" She started sprinting towards the smell of molten metal, occasionally jumping over undead bodies.

He began running after her, and it didn't seem like it took much energy. "I guess it's possible for blacksmiths to keep hold of their shop for a while, but they would not have much food and would need others to help them. And, Linus already found the survivors of the town in another house. You should also ask yourself: 'Why would someone want a specific place so bad that they would organize the contamination of an entire town?' I'm betting that we'll find that the concentration of the undead around that shop, maybe even something else..." He smiled at the possibility of a great battle, but was worried about their degraded weapons.

Cedric hurried to keep up with the others.
"So Jack, you think we'll find something interesting at the blacksmith's?" His eyes lit up with the lust for knowledge.
"What creatures have you found here so far, only undead humanoids and spiders? It seems you've found them easy enough to kill... except they're kind of dead to begin with... kill again? re-kill? need to come up with better terminology..." His words trailed off as he muttered to himself. "uh, yeah, so apart from weapons, they're vulnerable to white magic. If you have a priest around, they should be a big help."

"Eradicate is a good word. And I certainly hope we find something interesting. I can't really help you with white magic you may want to talk to Linus for that. But as far as weapons go, It seems like their flesh is half rotten. So, it doesn't take much to slice through them. But if you get cornered, they can be a real menace.
Spiders, unlike undead, rarely travel in larger numbers than three. But their power and speed are phenominal, especially for this region of the country.
These are the first 'monsters' that I've ever fought. I did a lot of extermination work at my old town when I was a kid. I killed rats for extra money. If you need any information on rats, I got plenty. Like they are mighty fast for one... You geting any of this?" he said turning to the young reporter as they ran. He looked back toward the direction of the smoke from the blacksmith's shop. They were almost there.

Pulling out a flat metal sheet from the large stone oven he placed it atop four stone blocks that where set atop a table to allow the loafs of bread to cool. Pulling the mitt he used from the hot metal he turned looking to the wolf that had taken up a spot in one of the corners and was watching him. “…….. I take it you never seen someone bake bread or lest that of a lancer bake.” He then turned from the wolf hearing the door that went out into the ally way rattle slightly the wolfs ears raising straight up. As the door rattled a little more the wolf gave a faint growl as its displeasure of what was on the other side of the door. So taking up the his lance he moved to the door and turned so to place his right side to the door as it would swing in on the left when opened. Sliding his right foot forward he braced himself in place with his left then slowly pulled the door open using his right foot and hand to hold it in place. Now with the door slightly jarred open he looked through to see what causing all the noise. Standing there upon the other side of the door a undead had started to lift its arms once more getting ready to slam them down against the door but it was cut down with a swift jab of the lance to the neck the blade cutting right through and out the back of the neck. Drawing the lance back with a quick jerk the body dropped to the ground and the door closed. “Damn undead really do hate those things.” Making sure the door was once more barred tightly shut he leaned the lance once more against the wall before going over to the table and pulling a chuck off bread off one of the loafs which he then broke in half keeping one off half for himself the other he throws over to the wolf. “I know it’s not meat but its better then nothing.”

As they approached the blacksmith's, an undead lurched out of the sidestreet. With a yell of surprise, Cedric swung his staff at it with both hands. The staff connected solidly with the side of the creature's head, making a disturbing crunch sound and causing it to spin halfway round before falling flat on its face in the street. Cedric could see more undead coming down the sidestreet towards them. "Looks like you'll get that battle you wanted, Jack!"

"Hellz Ya!" He said with a his ever constant smile. "You gonna be okay with just that stick of yours? Or can you do something with it besides simply swinging it wildly around, hoping to hit something?" After he was finished talking, He decapitated two of the undead surrounding the Smelt. He didn't know if there were survivors in the shop, if some of the smarter forms of undead had created their own forge from the smelt's remains, or perhaps the undead were sent to find something that was kept in the area. But no matter what the reason, no one could dispute the fact that there was a lot of freakin' zombies around this place.

Acarian gave a yelp of surprise and ducked as an undead lunged for her. She drew her katana, weilding the sword swiftly, often defending herself from random zombie atacks. She lopped off heads, severed arms, and kicked undead a**, but it seemed like there were too many of them. For every zombie she decimated, 2 more came to take it's place. "There are way too many zombies! Do we retreat and make a plan later?" she yelled out to her comrades, getting scratched slightly on her arm.
