Aimi watched with a hopelessly bored expression as the suitcases of other passengers traveled around the belt in an enormous loop. The cell phone she held to her ear continued its monotonous ringing, moment after moment, and she continued to sit on top of her suitcase, trying to convince herself that the dance of the suitcases was enthralling.
"Hello?"
Aimi nearly jumped out of her skin, knocking over her suitcase as she jumped to her feet in surprise. "Oh, Hi! Uh, Rachel, it's me, Aimi."
"Aimi?" came the fuzzy, nonplussed voice in her ear. "Is this about wiring you money for a ticket, because I told you, I just don't have-"
"No, no," interrupted Aimi impatiently, "I don't need a ticket; I'm here. At the airport, actually."
"What?" squeaked Rachel, sounding utterly flabbergasted. Aimi grinned. "Seriously? You just picked up and.." she sighed noisily into the phone. "Why am I even asking; of course you did. Hold on, I'll be over in twenty minutes or so."
"Thanks, Rachel. You are the epitome of goodness in the world."
"Shut up," replied Rachel, but it sounded like she was smiling. "Twenty minutes."

"Well, the way I see it, you need muscle. And I need brains. You have what I need, and I have what you need. So the only obvious solution would be that we 'join forces'. What do you say, Luke?" Anthony offered his hand for Luke to take.

"For now," Luke replied. He reached out to shake the man's hand then backed off for a moment. It occurred to him that he would eventually have to fight the man again, and when that time came, Luke wanted to be ready, "But first you have to agree to two conditions. First of all, I want you to help me learn to fight. I can do anything in video games but in the real world...well I'm pretty much useless," Luke laughed at him self then continued, "And the second condition is... you buy me lunch cause right now I'm starving."

"You got yourself a deal, Luke. How does chinese sound to you? Wow, I'm pretty hungry, too. Yeah, lets get chinese." Anthony began heading for the door, then turned back. "Gotta get my phone, its the whole reason I came back. Crap, i forgot about that cab driver. Maybe he'll still be there."

Aimi sat in the passengers seat, staring out the window at the city speeding past. She couldn't believe she was this glad to come back to a place.
"Are you hungry?" Aimi turned and looked at the driver, a blond girl of medium build, with tired brown eyes and a sweet face. "I know this really good Chinese place."
Aimi frowned slightly. "I don't remember any good Chinese places," she said, doubtfully, "Is it new?"
Rachel bit her lip, then nodded. "It wasn't here when you left. I don't think so, anyway. What do you think?"
Aimi thought for a long moment, then sighed, leaning back in the seat and closing her eyes. "To be honest, all I want is a hot shower and some sleep."
Rachel's voice was kind. "Fair enough." They drove in companionable silence the rest of the way, or at least, Aimi later assumed they probably had. She woke up in Rachel's garage two hours later with a small gasp, and instantly shot forward, reaching drowsily for her purse. It wasn't there.
She stumbled out of the car, slamming the door behind her, and ran into the house. Rachel was sitting at the counter, drinking what looked like a mug of tea. She looked up and smiled when Aimi burst in. "I hope you were okay with sleeping in the car, you just looked exhaus-"
"Where's my purse?" interrupted Aimi, her heart racing in her chest. "What the hell have you done with my purse?"
Rachel raised her eyebrows. "It's in the guest room," she replied calmly, taking another slow sip out of her mug. "What's-"
Aimi rushed to the guest room and grabbed her purse, ripping through it like a tornado. "Where is it? Where the hell is it? Oh my god, where-" she broke off as her fingers curled around a strong, cool chain. She brought it out, her fingers trembling. Her eyes took in the impossible colors of the gem hanging from the slim silver chain. "s**t," she whispered.

"Ahhh....", Ryn sighed, pulling his still slightly damp clothing on, and running a now clean hand through his muddy looking blond hair. He glanced at the door once, before sliding a different phone, from the one he used before, out of a pocket of his jacket. Quickly, he punched in the number, and listened to the phone ring, as he slowly flipped through the various pieces of information he had found, and placed in a small hand held computer.
"What?", a gruff voice said, as they picked up the other end.
"Hello. It's The Informer. I have yet to find anything new.", Ryn said, holding the phone away from his ear, as the man on the other end yelled,"No S--T! It's barely been half an hour you idiot!"
Rolling his eyes, he said,"I meant on both topics. I'm following up the what I can about the boy and his foe. Neither died in their fight, which surprises me. Anyways... I've found no trace of a drug ring, in the past two days, which means to me, that either they are really good, or they are in a different city."
"Your point?", the voice said, obviously not truly wanting to know the answer.
"My point.... Is that I will not find anything here. I'm going to keep track of the two, from earlier, and see if I can find more like them. If I do, I'll let you know. You won't hear from me till then.", Ryn said, clicking the phone shut again, before the man could say anything more.
Yawning, Ryn stood up, slipping everything back into his pockets, and double checking he had his key, before opening the door, and calmly stepping into the hallway, snapping the door shut behind him.

Rachel blinked, nonplussed, at the pendant in front of her. "I don't get what the big deal is. So some crazy old man in Amsterdam gave it to you. So what? Stop that!" she exclaimed.
Aimi stopped banging her head on the counter, and looked up with anguished eyes. "No, you don't get it. He was the one behind me. In the dream, right? The one where my-" She rolled her eyes and let her head fall back onto the table with a thud. "Forget it."
"No, listen. So you had a dream with some guy who gave you something in it. That's not supernatural; it's just your subconscious."
"But I wasn't asleep!" moaned Aimi, "I've gone over it a thousand times in my head, and I wasn't actually asleep, or even daydreaming! I was bored out of my skull!"
"So you made something up," said Rachel, calmly. "You do that."
"Not like this. Those images didn't come from my brain."
Rachel let out a slow breath. "Well then, what are you going to do?"
"Move to Australia," replied Aimi without hesitation. "Can you drive me back to the airport?"
"No," said Rachel gently.
Aimi suddenly sat up, her eyes wide. "Wait," she began slowly. "If I have opponents, then this is a game of some sort; that's clear enough. It's also clear that I'm probably not the smartest person in the group, or the strongest," she added with a shudder, remembering the pro-wrestler-type man. "That means, that the only way for me to win is to change the rules of the game."
Rachel was shaking her head. "Why don't you just, I don't know, forfeit, or something?"
Aimi looked her incredulously. "Something got inside my head to let me know I was a part of this. That means this is huge. Forfeiting is going to have major consequences." She paused dramatically. "Like if I lose, I lose my life, or something crazy like that."
"I can't believe I'm having this conversation," sighed Rachel, running a hand through her hair.
Aimi pretended that she hadn't heard. She pursed her lips, thinking hard. "Change the rules." Suddenly she brightened, slapping her palms down on the counter. "We're all on even footing," she murmured, staring through, not at, her friend. "We each know what everyone looks like. I need to stop looking like me; then I could go around and figure everything out, and they wouldn't see me. I could find out about them, but they wouldn't find out anything about me."
"So, what? Are you going to get plastic surgery?" Rachel's voice sounded very far away.
"That would give me an edge, a definite edge. And," Aimi added, as an afterthought, "I can still always move to Australia if it turns out I'm in over my head."

"Hey, Luke, are you coming?" Anthony said as he turned around and headed to the door. But before he could get there, the phone in his bedrrom rang. "Great, who could this be." He went to the phone and picked it up. "Hello?"
"Anthony, its Jerry. What happened last night? You were destroying that guy, but you let him win right there at the end."
"Jerry, I had my reasons. You wouldn't understand if I told you. Listen, I know that was my last match before my contract was up, and I don't think I will sign back. I'm gonna take a break, maybe come back later. When I get everything straight. I know, its a rash decision, but I need some time."
"What the hell, Tony?" Jerry said, using the shortened version of his name that Anthony hated. "Why so sudden. Listen, whatever. Come back when you want, but know that the boss man might not let you come back for a while."
"I understand that. It will work itself out, Hopefully," Anthony replied as he hung up, and returned to the living room. "C'mon, lets get out of here."

"Whatever," from what Luke could hear, he guessed that anthony wasd talking about his job. The teenager considered asking but figured it was none of his business.
When they entered the elevator, Luke immediately raced to press the button out of habit, then leaned against thew nearby wall. As the doors opened, Luke immediately spotted the receptionist and smirked, "Hey do you want to have a little fun before we go?"

"What are you talking about?" Anthony said as they continued walking. "Cause if it has anything to do with telling her we're brother, she already knows we aren't."

Ryn slowly sauntered his way over to the elevator, rubbing his right hand through his greasy, though now clean, hair. He sighed, as he slowly pressed the button, leaning against the wall. Softly he muttered,"I really work to much..."
As the door opened with a ding, he stepped forwards, softly padding into it, and leaning against the wall, after pressing the button to go to the lobby. He closed his eyes as he waited for it to arrive. As it dinged to a stop, he pushed himself up, standing straight, and stepping right into the lobby.

"Well I was just thinking, if we're really going to be partners, don't you think it would be inconvenient for me to have to stay away from the hotel. I mean, I doubt they'd want a stalker lurking around their hotel. But were I really your brother and all of this were really just a game to screw with their heads, I'd be able to come and go as I pleased," Luke responded then immediately stepped out of the elevator.

Ryn glanced to his right, immediately spotting Luke, though he didn't acknowledge him, as he sauntered his way across the room, squelching with each step. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught the girl at the desk glaring at him, which caused him to grin, as he pushed the door open. Stepping out into the cool air, he took a deep breath, before glancing around, and wandering across the street. Several cars honked at him, but, after living in Detroit, it didn't bother him.
Getting to the other side of the street, he glanced around again, before turning right, and squelching his way towards a restaurant, carefully double-checking that he had all his wallets.

"Oh, well yeah. I guess I can let her know that you'll be staying here. I'll go let her know." Anthony walked over to the desk. "Hi, sorry about earlier. I was a little confused. That kid, he's actually my half boother. Different mothers and all. I haven't seen him in like ten years, and had all but forgotten I even had a brother. If you don't mind, I'd like an extra key to my room, so he can come an go as he pleases. Oh, and here's that autograph. Who should I make it out to?"
"Oh, okay. Umm here's the key, and make it out to Jimmy. He'll love me forever," she said with a big smile.
"Okay, here you go. Thanks for the key," Anthony said, and went back to Luke. "Here ya go. Don't lose it. Okay, now for food?"
