Charity smiled and said,"Well, I'll just have to follow you around one day! I'm really wondering what it's like to live like you do."
She smiled at him and pushed herself onto the counter. "Well, do you think I could maybe one day do that?"

"Well, you can follow me if you like, but I thought that you wanted to protect your mother though?" He asked her as he had shifted his weight to one side as he touched his sword, to remind himself that it was still there.

I can't see you...
Charity gave a small smile and said,"She's never home on Saturdays... She's always out with Dad's friend. It's kind of her little getaway I guess, so I'm usually home alone with Dad."
She smiled at him and noticed him touch the sword. "Hey, Valk? Can I see what your sword looks like? I haven't seen a real one before."

"Oh, so you might be able to see how I live then." He said with a smile on his face. Then taking his sword out of its sheath, and he held it out, lying on both of his hands holding it up. "Its a sword that was fashioned from my father, he made it for me when I was about ten years old." He said as he held it out for her to see the sword.

Charity stared at the sword in awe. "Wow... That's so cool! Oh, it's so unfair that I don't have anything cool like this!"
She smiled up at Valk and examined the sword a little more.

Charity laughed again and said,"Humans in towns and such don't normally carry weapons around like this. St. Augustine knows to be indoors by a certain time each night and everything so there's never any need for weapons like that."

""No one carries a weapon around with them?" He asked surprised. "I carry this with me so that I can protect my self in the forest, you never know when something could attack you, but it rarely happens." He said as he laughed a little.

Charity shook her head. "Nope! We barely ever get any murders here in this small town. The worse we seem to get are rotten cops."
She jumped from the counter as the microwave beeped. She pulled out the cups and handed one to Valk. "Careful, it's a bit too hot. I must have put them in too long."
She put her cup on the counter and grabbed the sugar, pouring a few spoonfuls into her cup and stirring it around.
"So, what do you do for fun outside?" she asked, walking over to him. "It's really interesting to talk with you."

{How many times must I tell you...} Rydel entered the sleeping town, unnoticed. Her doeskin boots made no sound on the ground as she walked past buildings. Swift movement in one of the side streets caught her attention. Turning her head quickly, she only spied a small mouse. Rydel grinned a bit to herself. The moonlight struck her face then, making her pure emerald eyes shine, almost glitter. Her face was young, the face of a youth under twenty. She fiddled with a feather twined in a braid of her ginger hair as she continued down the lonely street.

Valk had taken hold of his mug that was given to him, and sipped out of it. "Doesn't seem too hot to me." He said as he looked back at Charity. "Yea, it is nice to talk to you as well. I have never talked to some one that is from the town." He said smiling. "So, the worst is the rotten cops? Then why hasn't anyone tried anything to stop them?"
