Wow, I feel pretty lonely. I hail from a mid-sized band (190-250...I keep hearing different numbers. Nobody around here can count!) in a large suburb outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Big Red Marching Band, just in case anybody knows who we are. We just got back into competitions, so its not surprising if you don't know us. But we will be in Six Flags, near DC in about two weeks biggrin !!. We were at the Gateway competition (Judged Exhibition for us) and we would have been scored as 3rd overall. I dunno how you guys were classified, but there we were classified as A, AA, AAA, and AAAA (based on size - PH is a AAAA band) oh, and national. Stupid Kiski!!! domokun

(lake braddock secondary.....5A band i think or maybe 4A.....apparently we're really good...superior rating 24 years in a row! last week we were competing in "fiesta-val" or something....)

>_>' i made a mistake and posted this in the wrong area x.x<- hur.
Anyone here attended the George N. Parks Drum Major Academy/Band camp/ leadership session?
I loved the Drum Major Academy when I went last year...I am going again this year...its expensive, thank god the band boosters send the Drum Major once a year...I thank them a million times over, such a great experience. It was similar to a boot camp, but it was very beneficial!
I attended Kutztown, PA....this year I am attending the one at West Chester, Pa...o.0;; a lot bigger..
When responding, do tell what section of the Park's camp you attended, if you liked it or not, and where you went. =3..and other comments are welcome.
i attend Palisades High School....District 11 cool

Got another Ohioan here. There sure are alot of us...^^
I'm from Kirtland, which you'll never have heard of if you don't live in Lake/Geauga counties.
We don't compete, but our symphonic band (we have a symphonic band and a wind ensemble...wind ensemble is for the shitty players XD) is class A for contest.
Will post more later when I'm not lazy.

Another person from Ohio!
I currently am at Crestline, in Crawford county. It is a VERY small place. It is a very small and boring town. We have a Jazz, Marching, and Symphonic band. That's it.

That's it. We have the same, but there are two symphonic bands. For some odd reason, 1/3 of the school is in the band program, thus the need for two bands.

Wow, that's just like my school. There are a lot of us in the band, and we all know who's in band because we end up marching together in the hallways. But that's all over for me since I graduate in a week. *sob* I'll only miss school because of the Band. ^__^;
I'm from Belleville, Michigan but my school is in Ypsilanti. My band consists of 142 members (42 play clarinet!) and next year we'll be 60 people bigger. We have Marching, Varisty, Concert, Symphonic, and Jazz band available to all that take a playing test at the end of the previous year. Marching is rated class A, Varisty is rated class C-D, Concert is rated class A-B, and Symphonic is rated class AA-A. It doesn't go by size, but by skill.
