Storm frowned.
"Lay off Natasha, Botch. It's okay if she doesn't have the most perfect of memories."

Storm cocked her head.
"Beatings, verbal abuse and...drunken 'parents'?"

"Something like that, except the drunken part. They were always more interested and loving towards my 'brother'"

"He was always trying to find some new way of impressing them, making himself seem so amazing, making me seem like such an average child."
She looks down, hiding the tears welling up in her eyes.
"When I was very little I accidentally set fire to the curtains. I'll never forget how much those beatings hurt...and how cold, lonely and dark it was in that cellar."

Kibo: Well, now you know they were never your parents. Parents who beat their kids can be understood. But random people who beat children that aren't even theirs aren't looked too kindly upon in the afterlife.

"Yes, it is all very sad."
Storm never had much patience, nor sympathy for people who groan about how hard a childhood was, or how much this beating hurt.
"Why should we care what happenes to them after they die? After all, they are no longer around to, ah, torment us."

Natasha sighed, turning round so her back was to Storm and Kibo. She lifted her top so that her back was exposed. There, several large white scars cut through her tanned skin.
"They'll always be there to torment me." She said coldly.

Storm gives Natasha's back a once over, more for the view then to reafirm her point.
"All I see are a few nasty scars, lovie. Those medals don't hurt whence they've been earned."

Kibo: Umm... but they're on... your back. How can you see them, except in a mirror? And why would you be looking at your back in a mirror, besides solely for staring at those scars, in which case you're just bringing the pain on yourself.

Kibo: Oh boo hoo. Whenever I lay down, that little "memento" from Mary Catherine hurts like a b***h. But I don't whine and complain about her whenever the pain reminds me. Well, at least not to Storm.
