It's good to see people who are interested in their own country's mythology, rather than just Vikings and stuff. I really want to learn about the Anglo-Saxons when I go to Uni.

I agree. Perun guides us during battle while Svarog shines his glorious rays upon us . Pfft, when was the last time you marched into battle? Not many Slavs marched into battle. And I have never been in a battle. I've been in many fights but battles, sadly no.

It's good to see people who are interested in their own country's mythology, rather than just Vikings and stuff. I really want to learn about the Anglo-Saxons when I go to Uni. Same here, I have been learning all about the celtic tribes that inhabited our island and I have started on the anglo-saxons too biggrin It's fascinating

Okay, someone has to tell me where I can get a copy of the Kalevala. And any other Norse or Finnish mythological literature.

Dude, I wish so badly I could learn who my ancestors were. I'm pretty sure that my surname is Anglo-Saxon. But I have no idea where my other roots are.

I can give you a translation of the Kalevala, though English is blah and I know you can't read Finnish.

Wicker Chair Dude, I wish so badly I could learn who my ancestors were. I'm pretty sure that my surname is Anglo-Saxon. But I have no idea where my other roots are. I am British Celtic on my mothers side and Scandinavian/Germanic on my dads If you type the surnames into google it can give you the origins, but you cant trust all of the sites
