By the time they got back.. Edward's breathing had leveled out and his heart rate had slowed to a more normal pace. Although, the fullmetal's brows were furrowed... as if he was in pain. Which he probably was... he would probably be aching for awhile yet. As Hemi's power seemed to be fading, he was slowly coming around to consciousness once more. The first thing he noticed were voices, sounding like they were underwater. His nose twitched and the digits on his left forepaw flexed as he started to come around.
Eventually, his eyelids lifted... first seeing blurry shapes which soon began to clear. "Ugh..." he eventually groaned, grimacing at the pain that seemed to be all over his body.

He was in the field one moment, then back in the room just a few heartbeats later. The younger Elric brother stared around the room, mildly disorientated, also confused after the apparation technique was complete.
"That was fast..." He said aloud, rubbing his aching head. He doubted he would ever get used to that if he had to do it again... and the concept of magic itself. Then again, in it's own ways, magic wasn't that different from alchemy, really.
His eyes widened as Lili's voice spoke directly to his mind. Another magic thing?
"U-um..." He began, stuttering. "Okay..."
He inched forwards cautiously, standing nearby his brother. Although this time when Lili snuggled his brother's side, he moved back again and lowered his head, seeming rather stand-offish. As Edward came to, he offered the other a weak friendly grin but stayed where he was, allowing Liliana to stay the closer one, allowing the couple to have their affections and their own space. This female, Edward's girlfriend, had more right to do so than him now, afterall.
"You sound like you got runover by a truck," He said, amused. "But don't worry, brother. I got their licence plate number." A small chuckle, and a wag of his tails.

A choked sob escaped Rikku as Ed stirred and opened his eyes even as Liliana gave a happy whine and touched her muzzle to the side of his. "Edward..." Exhausted, Hemi passed out where he lay, the glow instantly disappearing.
*When I said loved ones I did intend the plural, Alphonse Elric* The mental tone laughed but was decidedly more firm even with the smiling image of the human Trelweny joining the message. Liliana, unknowing of the private 'send' of the human looked up and smiled at Al with bright eyes, tails wagging faintly with hope & clearly waiting for him to take up his 'place' on Ed's other side.

Al's voice was what first caught his attention, and Ed looked in his direction with a weak smile. "I feel like it..." he admitted, and mustered a grin at his brother's joke. "Good... cause I'm gonna track 'em down myself and beat the crap out of them... then transmute that truck into a pile of something..." His mind was still trying to catch up with him and he looked disoriented for a moment, dizzy.
Feeling Lilianna next to him, he looked to her, "Hey..." he said softly... managing to give her a light kiss. "What happened?" Why the heck did he feel like crap? And why the heck was Rikku sobbing? An odd look being passed in her direction.

"Transmute it into a big pile of garbage?" Alphonse offered. "That's what I would do, brother." His tails wagged a few more times, before he let them fall limp behind him wherever they fell.
He closed his eyes, raising a paw to his forehead. The strange words were reaching his mind alright, but they made his head hurt. He wished they would stop.
"I'm already here, that's enough." He stated quietly, but remained where he was, wanting to give Liliana and Edward their space. The youth kept his head and his ears low, his posture one of submission and defeat. They seemed happy. Alphonse began to ponder - judging by the scene and by Lili's closeness, it seemed like his thoughts were correct afterall. Edward didn't need him.
"Ugh..." He rubbed his head, resting his head in his paws. "Do any of you guys have headache medicine lying around here?"

Lily beamed and purred, basking happily at Ed's kiss and closing her eyes softly. He would be all right... It might take time...
"It's my fault Edu!! I set the input to high & nearly fried you! If everyone else hadn't moved to help, told me what was wrong..." Rikku burst into tears and ran from the room calling 'Ruto! as the door shut behind her.
There was silence now in Alphonse's head, at least from outside sources. Not that anyone was looking, but the human woman bore a sad expression upon her face as she slumped into the GaiaCom's supporting embrace. She was heading the alchemist's wish... like it or not herself.
Pulling a vial from her bag Liliana passed it with a grin over Ed to his brother. "Here! This'll cover the headache inside, & that bump outside as well! Just a swallow, and it doesn't even taste bad! Unless you don't like mint." Nearly passed out, Trel grimaced.

If Edward knew what his brother was thinking, he would clobber him... or atleast try to. However, he just blinked as Rikku ran from the room in tears. He would have called after her, but didn't have the strength. At Al's suggestion of turning the truck into a pile of garbage, he chuckled and nodded before setting his head back on the floor... clearly exhausted and still in pain despite everyone's efforts.

"Huh?" Alphonse looked up again, focussing his eyes on Liliana. "I'm alright with mint." He moved over to take the vial, raising it to eye level to examine the contents more closely, appearing to be wary. "I'm alright with most things. If it tasted like milk though, you'd have to tie my brother down before you even get him to consider drinking it. He really doesn't like milk at all." He faintly grinned, turning his attention to his older sibling. "Isn't that right, brother? Tell her what you think of it."
"Oh well, here goes nothing." He popped the lid off the vial, promptly downing the contents. His vision was temporarily obscured by bright colourful sparks that danced and exploded in front of his eyes. A light ticklish feeling ran through his entire body, migrating to his head, making him feel like he was floating. The young alchemist couldn't help but grin and chuckle at the curious sensation. He was almost dissapointed when it faded from him again.
Oh well, his head was no longer sore and his headache was gone now, which was a huge bonus in itself. That didn't stop him from feeling tired, however. It had been a long day, in more ways than one. He was both physically and mentally exhausted. A nice nap would do him some good.
He picked up his filthy coat and shook it off. "I should, um..." He began, awkward. "I should probably leave you guys alone for a while. I need to lie down and rest anyway. Thanks for the medicine, Liliana." He lowered his attention to the floor. "And again... sorry. About before, I mean."
He wanted to quickly change the subject. "Do you know where I can wash this?" He held up the muddied coat. "After that, I think I'll find somewhere to sleep while it dries."

Liliana smiled softly though there was a worried look in her green eyes for how weak Edward was. "So we discovered. Took some getting used to.... we're all raised with milk here." Gently she stroked the side of Ed's face while watching how Alphonse reacted to the potion.
Another smile as it worked. Then a bare shake of her head so she would not move Edward unnecessarily. She should probably move him from the floor soon however. "You don't have to go, you're welcome, and it's okay" Lily responded in order, nudging Hemi as he made a sound to 'go to Daddy'.
Aqua eyes lifted to the small rabbit. "Do you have enough strength to get yourself & the other's to Trel's room? Peter nodded. "Good. See to it."
Leaning the human woman into the couch Myranda strode around the telepaths and held out an elegant, black gloved arm expectantly to the alchemist. "I'll take care of that for you. And show you to room if you'd like. Not in my programming to understand why you'd rather go elsewhere than stay with your brother." While she spoke with an indifferent look on her ebony face, without a sound or pop of any kind all the telepaths including Amaryllis (now fast asleep) vanished from the room.
"If you get a bath..." Liliana teased Al lightly. "You're welcome in our new room. Today anyway." Oh thank goodness once more for red fur. "Edward? It'll be more comfortable than the floor. I can apparate us onto the cushions there, soon as you like."

Edward instantly made a face at the mention of milk.. however his expression changed as he listened in to the words being exchanged. He wasn't stupid... and he knew his brother better than anyone.. even if it had been a long time. Golden eyes turned to Alphonse with concern... an ear flicking at the GaiaCom as well. Al didn't want to be near him? That wasn't like him.
"Al... what's wrong?" he asked, taking note of his apology to Lilianna. "Did something happen?" He then slowly turned over and started to push himself up with great effort. Gritting his teeth, "No.. I can walk" he muttered, even as he staggered. He wouldn't get any better if he allowed himself to be carted around. He was being his usual stubborn self.

Alphonse handed his dirty coat to the unfamiliar human, bowing his head in thanks as it was taken from him. His back felt strangely light without the weight of his coat on it now - it was weird. He tugged at his shirt sleeves awkwardly, making a slight 'humph' noise in response at the GaiaCom's words. "No. That's not it at all..."
His ears were raised high above his head in surprise as he watched the others simply vanish. A sudden chill ran through his spine and he shivered - it had reminded him of the time he had vanished to the arms of the Gate a number of years ago. He shook his head, trying to rid himself of the memory - it wasn't a pleasant one to recall at all.
"I don't need a bath," He said quickly in response to Liliana. "I only got my coat dirty, not my fur--" He went silent, one ear lopped, eyebrow raised. "Huh?" He blinked - what did she mean by 'today'? The youth scratched his head, pondering what that could possibly mean. His ears flicked back on themselves as it dawned on him. OH. He suddenly bit his lower lip and lowered his head, the familiar sense of awkwardness returning to him all over again. The thought of his brother having a girlfriend was really going to take some getting used to, that was for sure...
"Nothing happened, brother." He said hurriedly in response to Edward's question, probably answering much more quickly than he should have. "It's nothing."
He rose to his feet, shaking himself off. "I might as well go find a room of my own and sleep now. I'm really tired. Besides, not much to do while you recover, and my coat dries. See you guys later, then?"

The android huffed. "Whatever." Then she muttered something nearly inaudible about the foolishness of living thinking creatures and being inefficient with their time.
A giggle and Lily followed her mate in rising, butting his shoulder with no force & feeling good to see Ed's usual stubborn nature. "If you say so, Edward."
Liliana's warm smile faltered, her eyes becoming sad as Alphonse basically lied to Edward. It hurt... for had not Ed's answer of nothing stemmed enough grief all ready? What could be gained by saying nothing for something else. And now she was caught once again: if she told what the nothing really was, it would be making a liar clearly out of the Elric brother that had said it. Liliana did not want to be a wedge between them. The brows over her eyes alternated, heightening the sad look of her eyes and giving them a soft pleading appearance. "Nothing to do but share company. But if you insist..." Liliana would not beg him again. Her eyes said as much. Alphonse had come when she felt it was most important. But everything about her seemed to say how he was welcome... how she did not wish Al to go alone, and other things of that vein.

Oh but Edward knew... his brows furrowing at his brother's words. It was hard to lie successfully between the both of them, and he knew that his answer earlier had bothered Al. But the reason he said it was far different than what Al was telling him.. and he knew it. Edward was far too perceptive. "Being a hypocrite doesn't suit you Al" Edward said with a sharp tone, "Stop being such an idiot." He knew something was up... something that neither he or Lily were telling him. But he was too weak to really get into it. Instead he started to slowly walk towards the door. If Alphonse wanted to be that way.. then fine. They would have to sort this out later. His movements were stiff and uncoordinated... it seemed like even the slightest thing could make him fall.. but he made it to the door. Edward wanted nothing more than to rest.

Alphonse visibly flinched at Ed's words - they stung him hard. His tail fur bristled in reaction to his rising anger, but he quickly shook his head, stopping himself. He wanted to just let it go this time, he didn't want to end up acting irrationally again so soon. Besides, he was tired and his brother was physically weakened. The young alchemist also didn't particularly want to get into another mess right now.
Instead, he merely pinned his ears back and glared down at his gloved paws, letting his brother continue on his way, saying nothing to him.
He moved out of the room soon after, finding another empty room to curl up and sleep in, alone with his thoughts now.

Liliana relaxed a little, seeing that Edward saw through the 'nothing'. However it pained her to see them like that. After waiting for Alphonse so long... they were brothers! She sighed, only able to whimper softly and lightly touch Al's paw with hers as she followed Edward. The way she was with her sister MauCho.... could she really say anything? But this was different. The Elric's being like this to each other felt more like if she and Hemi or Romulus were to fight. Rommy... her big brother... the only one she tended to actually call by a nickname at all. Wings to her back the crimson female sighed.
Today was not supposed to be like this. Ed was not supposed to get hurt having his automail changed, Al was not supposed to not want to be with them... ever so much more that never should have happened.
And now she wondered on what she had been so sure about: that Alphonse should be there when they got back. No... she had been right about that. Edward had been happy at his brother being there. Joking about transmuting the truck together. What went wrong? Alphonse was not acting as Edward had spoke of him. What was wrong?
It was her. Liliana whimpered. She was in the way. Hot tears burned her eyes, and she was surprised to have any tears left to burn. Would she be forced to be a wedge between the brothers, willing or not? It was the last thing she wanted... but what else could she do about it?
The room when they opened the magic door to it was soft, comfortable, and in 'their' colors: reds, golds, blacks, whites, & some brown in the woodtones of the few wooden pieces. Liliana smiled softly, inside wishing she could be happier about entering the room. Like she had thought she would be. Lily nuzzled Ed lightly "I..." she closed her eyes. Saying sorry just did not seem right... didn't convey what her heart had to say. "Love you, Edward. Let's try to get some sleep..." If Edward asked her, she would tell him. As much as she possibly could. But Lily could not bring herself to offer it alone.
Shaking her head with a frown Myranda had opened the magic door for Alphonse and shown him inside. It was comfortable for a winged kitsu to sleep in, but little else for the GaiaCom lacked imagination. She was perhaps not the most gracious hostess for their guest, but very efficient and for the moment silent which seemed to be what Alphonse wanted. Leaving him alone, Myranda went off to see about cleaning his coat.
