Yeah working on it, so what's next teach?

It says I'm moderate with everyone I looked up.

I'm a snake...
My oldest brother is Horse.
My other brother is Rabbit.
My mom is Monkey.
My dad is Ram/Sheep.
My boyfriend is Horse.

All of those come up as moderate.

I would've done my sister-in-law too, but I don't know what year she was born in. sweatdrop

Edit: I think most of those are pretty accurate. I'm not really a people person, so it's obvious that with most people I would only moderatley get a long with them.

Although, my oldest brother and I; and my boyfriend and I get a long great... so, that's about the only inaccuracy that I see.

The Yin or Yang is broken down into Five Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water) on top of the cycle of animals. These are modifiers and affect the characteristics of each of the 12 animal signs. Thus, each of the 12 animals are governed by an element plus a Yin Yang Direction.

Although it is usually translated as 'element' the Chinese word xing literally means something like 'changing states of being', 'permutations' or 'metamorphoses of being'. (In fact Sinologists cannot agree on one single translation.) The Chinese conception of 'element' is therefore quite different to the Western one. The Western elements were seen as the basic building blocks of matter. The Chinese 'elements', by contrast, were seen as ever changing and moving forces or energies - one translation of xing is simply 'the five changes'.

The balance of yin and yang and the five elements in a person's make-up has a major bearing on what is beneficial and effective for them in terms of feng shui, the Chinese form of geomancy. This is because each element is linked to a particular direction and season, and their different kinds of qì or life force. (please remember that this is the Chinese way, so if it's different from your own Wiccan way don't mind it too much)

Wood
* The East
* Spring
* The Planet Jupiter
* The Color Green
* Liver and gallbladder
* Generous, Warm, Persuasive, Co-operative, Seeks to Expand and Grow
* Idealistic, Ethical, Enthusiastic, Seeks to Explore

Wood 'Governs' the Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon

Fire

* The South
* Summer
* The Planet Mars
* The Color Red
* Circulatory system & Heart
* Dynamic, Humanitarian, Energetic, Passionate, Enterprising, Adventurous, Restless
* Competitive, Leadership Skills, Strong, Single-minded, Loves a good laugh

Fire 'Governs' the Snake, Horse and Sheep

Earth

* Center
* Three Enclosures, Change of seasons
* The Planet Saturn
* The Color Yellow
* Digestive system, Spleen and stomach
* Patient, Militaristic, Prudent, Stable, Reliable, Hard-working, Ambitious, Stubborn, and very energetic
* Disciplined, Tenacious, Logical, Governed by Service and Duty to Others

'Governs' Dragon, Rat, and Ox. It is the central balance of the elements and can lend qualities to all 12 animals as well.

Metal

* The West
* Autumn
* The Planet Venus
* The Color White
* Respiratory system & Lungs
* Determined, Self-reliant, Unyielding, Strong, Persistent, Forceful
* Reserved, Needs Personal Space, Sophisticated, Seeks pleasure

Metal 'Governs' the Monkey, Rooster, Dog

Water

* The North
* Winter
* The Planet Mercury
* The Color Blue
* Skeletal/Excretory System & Lungs
* Secretive, Charming, Intuitive, Compassionate, Sensitive, Creative
* Flexible, Compliant, Eloquence, Intellectual

Water 'Governs' the Pig, Rat, Ox

Do you feel any connections to your animals element? I know I do. Wood is my animals element and I feel strongly towards it. I'm all the things it says I am. The Chinese believe that this is part of someone's genetic make up as well. So me being associated with the wood element means everything to my personality and while yes I do clash with other element personality types I still jump back to wood. I am a Yin Earth Dragon and my power element is wood.

I do feel a connection between the Wood and Earth parts of my personality (and Fire from the Eastern religion) sometimes it is very conflicting. I suppose I need to balance myself more. So then how does one tell the difference between a Yang personality and a Yin personality? I am sorry if you have already answered this question. I definately do not feel like a patient person most of the time though. sweatdrop

Mine is Fire, and yes, I think it describes me. But, then I look at the other ones, and parts of them describe me too. Or at least in my opinion of myself they do.

What? I missed a whole lesson? Gotta get caught up. *smacks self on head for not checking for updates more often*

Lesson 4
:
The chart was mildly correct for me. I do tend to get along with other rabbits and dragons... though I am not sure if that is because of the time frame in which I was born or not sense growing up all of my classmates were either dragon or rabbit. That kinda takes all the magic out of it, huh? lol.

Lesson 5:
I was a bit confused on this assignment. Do we go by the elements that we were told on a previouse lesson (I am a fire rabbit), or by what element on your last post that has our animal under it (for me this would be wood... seems kind of a dangerous combo. lol )? eh... I'm going to compare both.
Fire:I don't see myself too much in it at all... exept maybe the humanitarian part.
Wood: I can agree on the direction (east has always been my favorite direction), and deffinately the last two stars (*) that you put.

I'm wood and I think it describes me down to the T. It gave me goosebumps because my favorite color is green. lol

Also, I would just like to quickly add, I'm VERY much Earth as well. I feel that I've always had the most connection with the Earth element. I find that to be interesting because, as I've said before, my boyfriend is a Dragon and the element that 'governs' his animal is Earth. Hmm. . interesting.

Water seems to be the most dominant for me.. maybe a little Metal as well..

As for compatibility.. everyone I know seems to fall into the moderate category.. sweatdrop

lol Yin and Yang are just different personalities. Two people could both be caring and kind, but in different ways and it doesn't mean they get along. Thus Yin and Yang.

Everyone should feel connected to all of the elements. It's not a matter of being ONE element, it's a matter of feeling closely connected to YOUR element. I also feel that all the elements are related to me somehow. However, I know that I'm closes to Wood more then anything.

Making up lessons 2 and 3 (which I'm REALLY sorry about):
Lesson 2: My family, which is really into the zodiac never really celebrated but I suppose we had our mini rituals once a day where we would look all of our horoscopes and see what was up. As to the Chinese animal part, we never got into it. We did a bit of research here and there, nothing major. (I hope that is what lesson two was about).
Lesson 3: Since I was born in 1987, I'm a Yin Fire Rabbit. I never had much connection with fire. I've always found myself more connected with the Earth elements. Is that bad?

I do have the strongest connection with Fire (which is the one that I am on that list you gave), however, I also have a connection that's equally strong with Water.

Oops.. I really shouldn't post when I'm tired..

I meant to say that water is my element. It describes me pretty well.. except for winter.. sweatdrop I'm also Yin Water Pig. So I guess that would make it both my element, and my animal's element..

One should always feel equal to not only his or her element, but their opposite as well. This is because without each balancing each other out one person would be unbalanced in life. In other words you need both your element and your opposing element because they make you who you are. Too much of one thing is always a bad thing.

Okay! Lesson#4
Sorry..Jefe

I am: Snake
Mom: Dragon
My best friend: Snake
My ex: Snake
My closest girl cousin: Rabbit
My closest boy cousin: Dragon

I get along...sometimes...with my mom and that, along with my cousins, are about the only accurate ones I got. It's lile, we love each other and all but at the same time we'd not really miss each other when separated...kinda because when we are together, there's peace only for a few days and then we're out for each other's throats.
My best friend and I never quarreled or fought but on the other side, my ex and I, though we were compatible in every way possible and people always commented about the chemistry between us, we could never be open with each other and broke up more times that we were together...now I can think why.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Lesson #5
I am a Yin earth snake and my power element is Fire. Makes a lot of sense to me because for the longest time, I couldn't figure out how a smack dab in the middle of Taurus person like myself could have such an explosive personality and the need to make everything a race for the top sweatdrop
But then I did a more detailed astrological chart and found out what my Ascendant is and this only reinforces the body of evidence.
Well except for the season part (I'm more of a fall person...can't stand the summer sun. Heat I don't mind, but the sun domokun
And the Color red...
Still I have a strong affinity for the earth; I like to plant flowers and herbs and watch them grow and the feel of soil in my hands..sometimes I take of my shoes and just dig my toes into the ground-no I'm not weird-simply cos it feels good to root yourself into the earth. Water I respect, I love to swim and all but it's a cordially polite relationship. Air however is one element I have little affinity for.
