Darkness is merely an absence of light!
Only the weak take the easy path, the dark path, and the weak are easily bested!
It is only our own indecision and fear that holds us back! Come my brothers! Cleanse the taint from yourselves, and you shall cleanse the taint from the world along with it!
To arms, servants of the light! Goodness shall always prevail!
Hemhem, or something like that.

Getting back to the topic of mixing the supernatural with the Old West - how about werewolves instead of vampires? They could run a ranch to give them a ready-made food supply...

Dude, Zombies.
Win.
If I had to cast a vote for genre mixing, I'd have to say midieval + zombies if you were going for something more comical, west + vampires if you wanted something serious. It'd have to be a damn big western city, though. Otherwise the whole place would be overtaken in a single day.

You know, you could do a sci-fi-ish western. Kind of Outlaw Star and Captain Herlock style. Not sure if anyone said that and I'm way too damn lazy to read the other posts in the thread.
