Isaac was the latest to follow suit out of the squad as he was having trouble finding a weapon that suited him. He finally rested his eyes on a M90 shotgun and takes off after Danes and the others. He felt the anxiety literally drain out of him. He ran with them up to the higher levels, not really thinking about which direction they were heading, his mind focused on staying with the group and not going deaf from the sirens.

Hikowa ran towards the nearest Shotgun and Rocket Launcher; things were not gonna be pretty whenever Sure Shot fires. A few HEs and he was ready, stepping up to grab some ammo. A lit cigarette burned brightly at his lips and a puff of smoke remained in its wake. "No Covenant beyotch is takin Reach 'nless I've got somethin to say about it," Hikowa put on a full grin knowing that he's gonna blow some alien carcass sky high. Rushing off with his group he tossed his cigarette, stomped on it, and kept moving.

Upon arriving at the open elevators, he realized not all of them would fit in one. He stepped into the nearest elevator car, and looked at his soldiers. "We're not all going to fit. Five more with me. Everyone else in the next car." He nodded to his left, where the next shaft was already occupied with an empty car. He hit the button for the top floor, and stood, waiting impatiently. Things were going to be hot going in Danes imagined. With any luck, he'd still come out of this Hell hole with his life. No no no, that's moronic... Loosen up, and ready the trigger finger. We're going to KILL not be killed. And that's that. He sighed, easing some of his tension. "Here we go ladies and gentlemen..."

Joe glanced around at the others, then shrugged and stepped into the elevator with the Sarge. He thought, "Hmm. This could be dangerous. I'm gonna have to stay with the others so I don't get killed." He shivered slightly, nervous at his first taste of combat against the Covenant.

Ratu got in the elevator with Sarge. He raised the rifle to his eye and looked down it to make sure that it felt right. "Sir, what levels have been taken and what ones are we taking back first" he asked as he straped the rifle to his back and took out his sidearm. He checked the magnum to see if it had a full clip, before he put it away and took back the rifle.

Sergeant Danes glanced at Ratu. "Nothing has been taken. We're headed to the top level to make sure it stays that way. If I understood the commander properly, Covenant ships have just entered REACH's airspace, and are only beginning the assault. We'll be repelling ground troops. Understood?"
The elevator stopped as they arrived at the top, and Sergeant Danes stepped into a battlefield, the first of his squad to leave the elevator. They were on the top of the docking stations, nothing but clear sky above them. Ahead was a long pathway spotted with various storage crates and empty drums. The left side was guarded by a four-foot high railing. Beyond that was empty space, leading over 200 feet straight to solid ground. On their right was a solid wall, automatic doors inset at intervals of thirty feet.
More importantly, though, were the bursts of plasma flying in the direction of the elevators, and the bursts of rifle and pistol fire replying in a spastic fashion. "Move up!" Danes shouted, raising his rifle as he advanced toward the nearest soldier. They shared an empty freight box as coverage.
"What's the situation?" Danes asked over the din of gunfire.
"Four squads is what I heard," came the reply. "Four elites, a s**t load of grunts, and about ten jackals. Little bastards and their damn shields are giving us hell!"
"Thanks. We're here to help!"
The soldier nodded and leaned around the corner to fire his assault rifle. He caught a plasma blast in the face, and spun. The body landed at an unnatural angle on the ground, bottom half facing one direction and his upper half facing the other, his face charred black. Danes shook his head and sighed. Already people were dieing...

"Give me some back up!" said James looking at members of his squad, who in turn shot their assault rifles. He rushed towards the covenant who were taking cover, jumped to cover, and saw a small bunching of grunts and elites and shot a rocket in their direction. The resulting explosion caused some grunts to be facing the floor with their head in their own neon blue blood and claimed the life of one elite who, by the looks of the blood, hit the wall and crushed its spine. The motionless heap of alien was a quick satisfaction, but there were definitely more down the hall who have taken cover from the blast. He strapped the Rocket Launcher to his back and pulled out his shotgun.

Joe took up cover next to the Sarge, using the spot that the recently killed Marine had just occupied. Joe stuck his head out, then pulled it back quickly as a ball of white-hot plasma whizzed by. "Son of a b***h," he muttered. The he leaned out of cover, sighted down his magnum, and began firing calmly into the wave of Grunts that were running and firing willy-nilly. They fell like ninepins to his shots.

(( I'm terribly sorry if this is against rule three, but, where is everyone right now..? I'm a bit...lost. )) (( Heh, never mind. ))
Linus heard all the ruckus going on at the Top level,What in the world is going on up there? he thought as he grabbed his equipment. He loaded his Pistol and his Shotgun as he took off his mud colored armor and zipped into something more comfortable. "No need to wear a Battle suit when you're just a Techie.." Linus said to himself as he put on his comfortable hat. He headed for the stairs to the top floor to make sure nothing was going on, he heard gunfire as he was walking up the steps. "Well, sounds like combat." Linus said as he holstered his Side-arm and equipped his Shotgun. When he got to the door, he saw a smoldering hole on it."Covenant.." he muttered as he burst open the door, seeing the mini battelfield there. "Crap.." Linus said to himself silently as he rushed immediately to cover.

Danes smirked at Joe and leaned around the opposite side to hurl a controlled barrage of assault rifle bursts. He watched the counter until it hit thirty, then pulled back. He had been largely uncontested in his attack, as much of the enemy was scattered, and disorganized after that rocket blast. "Gotta love the SPNKRs!" Danes chuckled and looked at Joe, wondering if the soldier even knew what he was mumbling about. If he did, they'd share a good laugh. If not, he probably just sounded crazy.

Joe grinned slightly. "I hear ya sir." He reloaded his magnum and leaned out again, firing more shots into the crowd of enemies. He sighed. "Screw this." He pulled a frag grenade out of his bandolier and and used his teeth to tug the pin free. He hurled it around the crate they were behind and called, "Fire in the hole!"

Jorge, with Battle Rifle in hand (since he couldn't find an MA5B), rushed to the top floor along with the rest of his squad. He had been smart enough to already have an M9 on his person just in case something like this were to happen. He got to the top floor, and passed through the automatic slide door in time to see a Jackal creeping up behind Sgt. Danes.
"You slimy little ********!" Jorge grunted loudly as he grabbed the Jackal's gun arm, twisting it around until he heard a sequence of sickening cracks, snaps, and pops. By this time, it had turned around to see who was giving it such agony, it's eyes widening in shock, its mouth already formed into a silent scream.
Heh... Probably thought all of us were already up here!
He grabbed said Covenant's neck, glaring right into its eyes. "Hey, ese, tell your parents I said hello. I'm sure you'll meet them in hell WHEN YOU'RE DEAD!" Jorge said, spitting a large loogey right in its face, then reaching up a hand to do the same he did with the arm to its neck. The stupid little s**t fell onto the reinforced metal flooring like a ragdoll as Jorge armed himself with, and loaded, the Battle Rifle he was carrying.
"Might wanna be careful, Sarge! Some of these ******** have some sort of invisibility armor!" Jorge suggested, popping off a few rounds into the head of an exposed Elite until it dropped to the ground.

Linus strapped his shotgun onto his back and equipped his Pistol instead. No need to Increase our own casualties with the Shotgun he thought to himself. He looked around to see if anyone from his squad was in the same room as him. Nope. Well, at least there are still Marines here to help me out.. He thought to himself. He aimed his pistol at a Jackal. His shot was deflected from the Jackal's shield and narrowly missed Linus' head as it ricocheted. "You little bug.." Linus mumbled to himself as he unloaded his clip into a Jackal that appeared to be too busy kicking a Marine Corpse to notice he was going to die. A bullet pierced one of its eyes, the Jackal screamed in agony as another shot pierced its hand, another pierced its chest. It crashed into the wall, making a horrible squeaking noise as it slid down to the ground, blood still on the wall.

Danes spun quickly, sighting down the barrel of his rifle. What he found behind him was the vicious execution of a rogue Jackal at the hands of Jorge. With an affirmative nod, Danes turned back to the battle. "Give me cover, we're moving up!" he shouted. Taking a glance around the corner, he saw another freight carrier angled perfectly to take on the Covenant. When sounds of plasma lessened, he leaped out in the open and dove back behind his new cover. He edged around the far corner, and leaned out to give a surprised elite a few bursts before hiding from the plasma that so courteously replied.
