Keirro's heart skipped a beat. She felt her cheeks blush and she wasn't sure what to do for a split second. She leaned forward and returned the kiss, as she tried to remember the advice fashion magazines gave thier females readers on giving the best kiss. She closed her eyes instinctively and wrapped her arms around Silver.
That was some DAMN good whiskey.

He'll hold the kiss a moment, then lay back down, a slight smile on his lips, eyes half closed as he watched her reaction from behind his eyelashes. He was curious to see how she reacted now. Hopefully it wasn't with a punch to something sensitive....

Keirro opened her eyes and froze. She looked at Silver and suddenly realized what had just happened. Her mind replayed the event with logical commentary.
It's really quite simple. You got drunk and desperate. Luckily for you, no one's around. You can stop while you're ahead reasoned a voice in her head.
you TOTALLY dig him! He's great around Ranis. He has a job. Not to mention that was an awesome kiss! You go girl! reasoned another part of her consciousness. Keirro heart pounded. What should she do now? She felt stunned, but not mortified. It was as if she had been beat by a wooden board.
"We kissed." she meekly said. She never felt so confused in her life. Was she still drunk? She still felt fuzzy headed and anything beyond stating the obvious was beyond her mental grasp.

Silver nodded a little, eyes still half closed. "We kissed." He was keeping a close watch on her, half expecting her to bolt, and hoping that she didn't. He tended to live life for the moment and play things by ear, but that didn't mean he didn't sometimes get nervous about his split second decisions.

"This is- I could nev- I...don't know what to do." Keirro stuttered. She felt as if she couldn't move. What was she supposed to do now? She usually planned everything down to the last detail and even had back up plans, but she never expected Silver to kiss her. Her inebriated mind tried to think of some excuse to Silver for her behavior.
"You kno- We just had too much to drink. It's quiet out here. No one's around. It was a perfect climate for that sort of thing." Keirro said as she tried to make sene of the situation.

Silver put one finger to her lips to stop the babbling, and smiled a little. "Do whatever you want to, and nothing more. And stop trying to rationalize it away. I havn't had that much to drink, and while you are a little tipsy, you arn't that drunk. Plus, I don't care where I am, I do what I want, when I want. And what I wanted to do at that moment is kiss you." He'll smile, and sit up so he's next to Keirro. "I'm sorry if I shocked you. But it wasn't a bad thing, was it?"

"No, it was quite nice. Really." Said Keirro. She looked at Silver and gave a nervous smile. What did this mean for her? The very idea of being spontaneous seemed beyond her grasp. She sat close to Silver. The air felt a little colder, especially while her body temperature fluctuated from metabolizing the alcohol in her system.
"So what should we do now?" she asked.

Putting an arm around Keirro, he pulled her close to keep her warm, and shrugged a little. "I figure we just go with whatever comes to mind really. Is there anything you'd like to do or talk about?" He'll give a shy little smile, and snuggle up to her. He wouldn't admit it anytime soon, but he'd missed having someone to hold and curl up next to. Even if this was only temporary and for the night, he planed to enjoy it. That was the only thing that he could do.

"I'm not sure. I've always figured you would go after someone of your own kind. Ranis adores you and there would be nothing that I would want more than a bit of help in trying to understand the boy. My ex does his best, but Ranis merely tolerates him. " Keirro replied. She gave a sigh and looked at Silver's claws. If he had done this weeks ago, Keirro would've called animal control and probably would've pressed charges.
Now, Keirro was starting to realize how her attitudes were starting to change.
"I've been changing since Ranis came into my life. I thought he was the worst thing to have ever happened to me. Here I was, doing everything I could to appear like a goddess, and this child with the tenderness of a polecat appears in my life. He ate all my fish from my fish pond. He harasses my neighbors. He's even bitten children at school." Keirro looked at the fire.
"He's made me calm down though. I'm learning that I can't control everything."

Smiling a little, He'd tighten his arm around her a little, pulling her close and snuggling. A few weeks ago, he wouldn't have been courageous enough to try this. Okay, maybe he was a little drunk himself. Chuckling a little at her description of the trouble that ranis got up to.
"Reminds me of the stories that my father used to tell me about me when I was younger. And your right, you can't control everything. So you just try to control what you can to make things as good as you can." He leaned back, and sighed a little, half in happyness, and half in remembrance.

"My boy has make his life mission to wage war against this cat he always sees in our yard. Ranis never hesitates to chase the kitty out of our yard or throw sticks at it. He tries to eat or go after everything that comes into the yard, come to think of it. That lesson you taught him with the raccoon should hopefully stick. He needs to learn that not everything is edible." Keirro chuckled. She leaned against Silver and showed no resistance to his embrace. It was nice just to talk and curl up with someone.

"If it doesn't stick, i'm sure nature will give him a lesson again. Likely in the form of a skunk or something similar." Shaking his head, he'll smile a little. "It tends to do such things i've noticed. And ranis is intelligent, in his own way. He learns quickly i'm sure. Especially things like that. And I think part of his.....rambunctiousness, at least as far as other animals is concerned, is that he's trying to protect you I think. At least, thats how its coming across."
Kissing her forehead, he stared into the fire, lost in thought a moment, comfortable with the moment, as it were. It had been quite a long time since he'd had someone to curl up with.

"He's the one that needs protecting, especially if he goes after a skunk. He's mellowed out since he was an infant. I predict he will be rather anti-social towards strangers, but friendly towards those he considers to be a part of his family. In other words, he'll be like you." Replied Keirro as she ruffled up Silver's hair.

"I figure your right. Part of it is he just feels distached from others because of how he is. And part of it is that unfortunately, people are cruel, and don't like anything different." He'll shrug, and smile a little. "Still, i turned out not too bad. So is it a bad thing that he'll end up like me?"

"I'll let you decide." said Keirro as she kissed him on top of his head. She stood up and walked to the tent. The whiskey had made her tired and she had a feeling that tomorrow was going to be quite the workout. She changed into her pjs in the tent, curled up in her sleeping bag, and laid next to Ranis. The little cub snuggled next to his guardian with a minor whimper and quickly fell back asleep.
Keirro couldn't sleep right away, for some reason. She lay awake and simply stared up at the ceiling of the tent.
