Captain Reinhert

Another chuckle from deep within the man, it could of been a mighty good laugh had he not forced himself to hold it off a bit. "Serena, I must say, I can move quite fine..." he gave a small pause before continuing, obvious that a new wave of chicanery fluttered his voice, "I am able to move my mouth, and at the current time, it seems fitting enough for hero does it not?" He laughed, oh what a dork he could be at times, of course it was merely to hide way to the fact that he was in pain, however he did clue her in just a bit more once he let out a sharp hacking cough caused from the pain in his shoulder. "Ah, m'lady, it seems I might be a little more hurt than I thought I would be. However fret not, I might need help to rise a little, but once I get on my own two feet, Kia will help me through the rest, and I should be well enough again."

Of course she probably did not buy it all too well, so he continued on, "You see, during wartime, it takes a true man to be able to take damage while he dishes it out. So I've taken plenty of damage well before now, and I should be perfectly fine in an hour or two." It then hit him, would a Prince really take damage out in war? He knew that majority of the heirs would leave the war off to their service troops. Now however, he did have the feeling she would not catch on, considering that she did not even know there was danger in this land. In fact that puzzled him quite a bit.

"Wait a second, about what you said earlier, you do not know the danger lurking about?" Another laugh, "I suppose, I came here thinking that when I met you, you would be a legendary star, something from the heavens with unlimited knowledge, of course then again, you are all the way up there" he pointed to the sky with a shaky hand, "I suppose you don't have time to listen to the daily chit chat of those around here. So I guess you up on things."

Captain Cross cleared his throat before continuing on, obviously setting somewhat a more serious tone, "There are indeed many dangers for you precious life, it appears that ironically enough that the person who brought down here, is the very same person who wishes for your death, and above all, your heart, of which she wishes to take your power. Already she has slain a star such as yourself, few centuries ago, and so she is quite the powerful lady. But fret not," he attempted to produce one of his award winning smiles, "she might be strong, but there like me who are willing to risk our lives to save you, and then there are those like the good Captain Reinhert, who is going out set on a journey to stop the witches. And I know the Captain, he is a legend himself, and no worries, anything that he puts himself to, he'll make sure it gets done." He attempted the best he could not to laugh at what he was talking about, after all it was quite humorous to him to praise another, while in all actuality, boasting about himself. Ah the weird quirks in his life. Things never seemed to get boring. However, if they stayed here too long, it really would not get boring with the witches storming in on them.

"Ah, I suppose it might be best however for us to get up and depart, never know when the witches might come." He reached his hand out towards her, "Care to lend me a hand?" Another smile as he couldn't help but feel the backwards ways this was heading, the rescuer needing help of the rescued one.

Kia had her fair share of horses who proud themselves above others. Usually she would do her best to knock them down a size, however, she already proved she was weaker than he, especially how her own master did not trust her ability. She felt a bit embarrassed and overwhelmed by this creature, however she would prove to him that she could be just as strong. Indeed, it may take time but she would. It seemed however she would not be willing to back down yet, although she would not challenge him just yet either. So for now she merely let out a snort, and turned around towards her master..her friend.

Serena looked down at Ziren, for she still believed him to be that man, and smiled softly. She rolled her eyes at the comment about being able to move his lips. "I meant can you move bodily." She frowned as she heard the coughing sound, which she knew was not normal. She looked him over again, still frowning. Odd how even such a concerned and disturbed look could evidently not mar this young woman's beauty. She was radiant, even if she did not truly look like the star she was. Only her shimmering gown seemed to fit the idea of what one might believe a star to look like.

"I don't think it wise for you to get up. You took quite a fall, as despite what you may have endured in your past, it may be wise to rest just a moment longer." She said this partially because she truly did not believe him well enough yet to try moving, and partially because she was dreading having to stand herself. Her ankle still pained her, though she was ignoring it for the time being. However, should she try to stand, it was likely that she would take another tumble.

Serena huffed and placed her hands on her hips, looking at Ziren in a rather offended manner. Clearly she did not like what he had said about assuming her to have unlimited knowledge. It was clear to her that he believed her to not be what he had expected, and that it was likely he thought her to be, in her eyes, dumb. "I beg your pardon, sir, but stars have a great deal more knowledge than any one human could hold in a lifetime." She spoke in a rather dignified manner, as though she were going to prove him wrong.

Her eyes widened momentarily at the mention of a previous star's death. Sadness claimed her features and she dropped her gaze. It was hard to imagine that something so pure could have been slain for something so meaningless. For of course, to a star, power was not important. Nay, knowledge was more important than power. A single tear slid down her cheek, and then she seemed to remember something. She brought a delicate hand up to brush against the chain that rested around her neck, a white gold chain that glimmered in the light. She pulled it up to reveal the gem that rested at the bottom, the sapphire that shone almost as bright as the woman's eyes. She held it in her hand and looked at it, her features hardening as she did. "How could they?" She asked, not truly directing it, but more of a rhetorical question. Anger flashed through her eyes, and she looked ready to leap up and hunt down those who had killed one of her kin.

Finally Serena shifted her gaze back to the man before her, and the look of anger subsided. She still held the sapphire pendant in her hand, though her thoughts were now on the man. She looked down to his hand, then back up to his face. "I suppose, it would be best to leave this place." She looked around her, and a slight grin crossed her face. "Though, I doubt very much that even a witch as powerful as the head of the coven could take me in such a place." As if on queue, a multitude of noises seem to spring to life. They were unnatural noises, as if created by some strange creatures who were reacting to this woman's words. She looked back to Ziren and smiled sweetly, looking rather innocent, saving for that knowing glint in her eyes. She took his hand and gently began to pull him up, while simultaneously moving her other hand, dropping the pendant, to slip it behind his back and push him up. This would allow him to move into a sitting position with minimal pain.

The pegasus could tell that this was a horse of pride and strength, and he admired that. He continued to watch the horse as she turned her gaze from him, to her master. He followed her gaze, seeing the man. He also saw the star, the woman he had come to help. He had been drawn to her, like a moth to the flame. There was something about that woman the seemed to attract magical creatures. He could hear the noises around them, the other 'mythical' creatures that had been forced to hide in the forest, lest they be used as unintelligent beasts of burden, rather than the intellectualy beings they were. He snorted again, watching as the woman, whom he knew to be injured, attempted to help the man up. It was like the blind leading the blind, which amused him greatly. He shifted for a moment, rustling his wings, then began to move forward. He stopped only when he had reached the two, and imposing figure looming above them. He would lend his help to this strange woman for as long as she needed it, he felt obligated.

Captain Reinhert

There was not much time for the good Captain's eyes to lay sight on what was above, when she moved him to a sitting position all he could see was just her. A little close for comfort actually. Sure he had his feel of being next to women. It was a good feeling to be had, although he partially felt it was not all his to be welcomed, she still believed him to be the prince, he wondered how she would of reacted if she thought of him of a lesser title. Then again, she didn't really seem to interested in the fact that he might be a prince to begin with. Of course though in the end, he knew she was this close to him for one reason, and one reason only, he did stupid stuff. That stunt almost cost him his life, however he didn't feel too scorn for it, after all being next to a beautiful lady like her, it was more of a reward for being stupid.

After she got him up into a sitting position, he continued on with their conversation, almost oblivious to the things going on around him. His body hair raised as it felt a foreboding presence, but he felt that ever since he entered the forest. Even now he marked it off as just a thought that the witches were already moving their way here. They'd still have a little time to chit chat and get his wounds a little more time to mend, so what better to do then just talk, right?

"I mean no disrespect, Serena, I just mean, I suppose there's even things that stars do not know. And we can say, there's clearly a lot of things I don't know, nor never will know," he let out a laugh, but it was cut short as he felt his body hairs raise ever more. Something was definitely going on. What was the essence he felt? It wasn't like he could tell where it was coming from, or how strong, in fact he had no control over the sensation, his body merely reacted to it as if it was a survival instinct. Already he felt a little adrenaline pumping through his body, if something was to happen he'd definitely be able to push his body to do something, however he knew it would cost him quite the bit of pain and add on another day or two of resting when all was said and done.

"Serena, perhaps you can help me get up rest of the-"

Neigh, Kia came closer towards the Captain, and wasted no time getting down to his level, as if she sensed her the urge to get moving soon as possible. Her master had gotten wounded quite a bit on the battlefield before, and as a way to make sure he could get up out of harms way, she was trained to lower herself onto the ground, and let him get on top of her without having to strain himself too much. She'd end up getting the brute job of trying to strain herself getting back up, but when the deal was important enough, she was more than ready to loft him along, and it seemed like this was one of those times.

As she rested herself down, Reinhert knew she felt the presence as well, still whatever it was, it was just a little too unnatural for him. He was used to just the regular battlefield where it was man against man, no magic involved, and now whatever he felt, he knew it was either part of this forest or some other bizarre magic, like the witches. Although he still did not know where it was coming from all he knew was his body was telling him to get out of there.

His hands reached out in a brazen effort towards Kia, he was getting ready to mount.
"Serena," before he fully got on he turned his head towards her, his body still obviously stressed a bit as he cringed a bit to move, "Take your steed, we should head to the nearest town, the further we are from this forest, the more I have to work with on keeping you safe." As always, even though he hardly met her, when he was given a mission, he devoted himself to it, and so now, no matter what it took he would protect her even at the cost of his own life.

Serena, as old as she may be, was still very naive. She had no idea that she was so very close to this man, and that perhaps it would make him uncomfortable. No, she simply continued to try and help as best she could, without causing herself too much more pain.

"I know that you mean no disrespect, its just..." She trailed off, unable to truly think of what she meant to say. She frowned for a moment, then looked to Ziren and smiled. "Nay, do not fret over it. Stars cannot know everything, of that I am sure, though most of us may claim otherwise. There is far too much knowledge spread out over time for any one being to hold it all." She smiled at him in a rather child like manner, hoping he would realize that she understood he had meant no offense by his comment, and showing that she took none by it.

She felt a little put off by the great forest, feeling that something unwelcome had entered it. It was not so much a realization of a new presence, as it was a sense of disturbance amongst the creatures of the forest. She could feel their angst and unease as if it were her own. As if sensing her thoughts, the great winged horse stomped a hoof and snorted loudly. This was enough to urge her to move.

She was about to attempt to help Ziren up, when he seemed to do it on his own, with a bit of aid from his horse, of course. She watched him with concern filling those sapphire eyes. It wasn't until the Pegasus nudged her with his nose that she even realized she had been staring. She blushed slightly, ashamed at having been so rude in her stare, and grasped the horses mane. He lifted his head, pulling her to her feet. So long as she was leaning against something, she could stand just fine, even walk a little. But she could put no weight on her injured ankle. It would be at least a day before she could truly walk on it again, and even then it would be slow.

She used her arms, which were stronger than they appeared, to heave herself up onto the steed's back. Once she was perched on the great horse's back, she sat up straight, taking on that regal appearance once more. While on the ground, she had looked almost human. As innocent and weak as any young maiden. However, on top of such a noble creature, its white coat almost casting an eerie glow, she seemed to looke much more powerful.

Her long hair fell about her body, as if hiding her slim frame from others, protecting her. She smiled at Ziren, though she could not wipe the concern from her eyes. "I will follow you, if you think it best." She bowed her head respectfully, speaking in that mature manner that she seemed to take now and then. She was far more aware now than she had seemed moments ago.

Majxn stared at the beast, it was taller than he was, and thusly he was intimidated by the horse. He seemed to stare at it for a long time, wondering what it was going to do, if anything. Then, after stepping over the Lucastian princess, he reached out for the side of the horse. His right eyebrow started to twitch as he neared it. Then his palm touched the side of the horse, he just stood there. Seemingly confounded by how tame the horse was. No, I don't need this horse, Matari needs it far more than I do. I know better, besides, I know nothing of horses. Other than how to slaughter them He shook his head. "No, I can't take this." He moved over to Matari's side. "Now then, shall I get you seated?" He asked her, as he began to help her up.

Fox watched Majxn approach the horse curiously. He was sure that Angel was doing a much more subtle job of the same thing behind him, and was grateful for it. Angel often noticed things the heir didn't. "Please Sir Majxn, don't feel as though you need be so polite," Fox said, grinning. In truth, he didn't think it was manners that were keeping Majxn off the horse at all, but he would keep that quiet for now.

Angel whispered something in his ear, and Fox tilted his head slightly to the side. You may be right, Angel, he thought, looking at Majxn. "Besides, we've already arranged ourselves so that both you and Lady Matari might ride. Switching everything back now would be a dreadful waste of effort," the grey-haired boy continued with a light, playful wave of the hand.

Angel continued to just watch Majxn through his eyelashes, not letting on that he was paying any attention at all. Yet another trick a servant learned, if they were to be any good at their job. There were a lot of those, all of them more useful than one might suspect...

Captain Reinhert

It seemed that her resounding nature has finally pulled through, perhaps she had gotten on her high horse as so to say, he could not help but laugh to himself about that thought. Of course today was not a day laughter could be spent so idly, he had to use what time they had to find an escape route out of here. There was not many places he knew to go. Actually he was rather lost, he just knew he came from...there...no...there...no...

His eyes glanced around... was the old captain lost? Well that did no good, today he was all sorts of problems, first he did a daring attempted and failed, and now he was trying to lead her to safety, and he failed once more. Well he would not let her know that. There was a town at least every portion away from the forest, at least in the sense that if he traveled long enough he'd end up at one of them sooner or later, even if he had to cross half the world. At least things would be safe either way, as long as they were away from the crater, right? So he turned towards Serena,
"Yes, follow me, we'll take this path here," he gestured in the way Kia had looked. He trusted her judgment, and knew she would point to safety in a time of trouble, however this far into the forest he was probably sure she was just guessing as well. "We'll head off now, and hopefully we'll be out of here before the touch of darkness make our path unseen." That was how a prince talked right? He remembered Ziren talking like that quite a bit, then again, the prince was not the normal prince of the sort, so it did make it quite hard to gesture how to act towards her. Nevertheless there was one thing he was familiar with, leading.

"Lets go." He pulled on the reins of Kia, his arms still a bit stiff making it a little awkward to guide the horse, however he and Kia shared a bond together, and she knew very well what he wanted her to do by just a mere pressure on her sides. With that, she started off in a small trot towards the direction of who knows where.... All he wanted was away from the presence and keep her safe, so hopefully that road would lead them there. Surely she felt the same presence so he once again reassured her, "Don't worry Serena, you'll be in good hands." It did no good to him to just try and make sure she was at peace, he wanted to make sure that she really was okay with everything, the more safe she felt, the more inclined he would be to protect her, so he continued on with a little more idle chit chat, "So I wonder, if you stars are out in the sky and can fend off the darkness, then the witches power of darkness should be no match for you right? So if there's anything out here in the forest, we should be able to trudge on, right?" Hopefully he had chosen the right words, then again he knew very little about the culture of the stars, so at the very least, he just hope he didn't offend her with his statement.

As they continued down their path, Reinhert gave full control over to Kia... little did Kia or Reinhert know though, she was heading straight towards Telford.

The Pegasus, though unhappy with following instead of leading, moved in behind the man's horse, but not without a quick glance back at Serena. The woman returned the animal's stare, and it was as though they exchanged thoughts. Both of them were not so easily fooled, however Serena did not speak her mind on the matter. She figured that this man had no idea where he was going, but she didn't truly care. She was simply happy to be on the move once more. She wasn't going to find a way home by just sitting in that forest.

She rested her hands before her, stroking the great horse's mane and staring forward, not really at Ziren, but more through him. "I will trust you to lead me to safety." She said in a rather reassuring manner, so that he would know she was fine with whichever path he chose. She looked behind her for a brief moment, feeling a chill run down her spine. She didn't want to make Ziren fret, but she was sure that darkness headed now towards the crater, and at a great speed. Such an evil touch about that creature, she didn't want to be around when whoever it was got to that place where she had fallen. The Pegasus rustled his wings, moving them over Serena's legs as if to calm her, and to protect her.

As Ziren told her she would be in good hands, she looked at him curiously. "You don't suppose we will find much trouble on our way, do you?" Once again that innocent and naive look took her over. She could hold much knowledge of the world, but still she had no practical application. She had seen such horrid things as she sat in the skies, helpless to change things. Now she was on the grounds, where she could make a difference, yet she didn't truly know how.

She frowned at the man's question, not because she was offended but because she had to think about it. "To tell you the truth, I don't really know. You see, since my fall from the sky, the glow that normally hold tight to my body has diminished into nothing. I no longer glow like I would in the sky. The best explanation I can give is that I can only truly shine bright when I am at my happiness. Only then can I eliminate the darkness of the witches. Otherwise, I can no more than hold them back, for a time." Clearly she was unhappy with this answer, but she had no other to give him. She stared at him with a frown over her youthful features. "Unfortunately, this is all in theory. I know not what the practical application would be like, as I have never even heard of a star being put in such a situation."

Her thoughts trailed to the star that had gone missing four hundred years before. These theories had been put into practical application, but the witness had died, she had been murdered. Serena hoped never to have to go through that.

Matari managed to bring herself to her feet, and was soon helped upon the horse that Evion had provided for her escort. "Well then, now that I'm well situated," She glanced around and looked at everyone's faces, making sure everyone was who they claimed to be. "Right," She said after her glance. "Shall we get going?" She knew Majxn had no need for a horse, and she knew better than to question the boy. "What say the rest of you?"

Captain Reinhert

Well, it seemed like she was fine with him leading, it seemed that his words proved useful enough. Although... he was kind of amazed that she bit into that he knew where he was going. Then again... she was new to this Earth, and so she had no clue where he was going either. The blind leading the blind, only in this case, it was blind leading the blind down a few dozen staircases. One false step and it would lead them to their doom.

Every once in a while Reinhert, felt the strong sensation of dread lead ove3r his body, how could something hold so much power, nay, so much evil, that it could effect a person far away? It was quite the pain, but he had his star with him right? The thing that could fend off the darkness? Well... it seemed like there were a few errors to his thinking as she went on. Apparently she did not hold the powers that he thought she might have. After speaking, he felt a little sadden that he asked the question, perhaps it added more worry and doubt to the girl? That was the last thing he had intended.

Before he continued his thoughts anymore, Kia instinctively started to pick up the pace into a nice canter, thus if any creatures were out there, they'd have the pace to push into a gallop, but they also had the leisurely feel of a trot so that they wouldn't pick up any unwanted attention.
"Serena," he was going to turn his body to look at her, but a stiff pain said, 'lets-keep-looking-forward..for-potential-danger' and so he obeyed. His eyes stirred off over yonder, while he spoke out to her. "There's always danger out there, but the thing to remember is that there is always hope as well. So even if you don't have your bright shine now, you will one day, you'll be happy and won't ever have to deal with these witches."

Foliage crunched under Kia's hoof, every step was the melody of joy, for it meant another step further out of the forest, at least he hoped, and then he realized something, there were not as many trees as he had first saw, that meant only one thing, civilization. Of course it could easily be another hours ride before they met it, but they were indeed going in a right direction. Just before he shouted off the great find, he decided to bite his tongue. What if he said the town laid ahead, and it instead took them a few days to even find anything. Well perhaps it wouldn't take a few days, but he was unsure of the size of the forest, so who knows how long it could take. Sad thing was that he could not even say his observation, because it would lead her to believe he did not know where he was going. How awkward would that be, telling her she was in safe hands, and while they ventured off he'd shout, 'hey it looks like we're going the right way'. He inwardly shook his head. If they were anywhere but in this forest, he'd have the sense in him to get to the right way no matter what... but nope it had to be 'this' forest. Well perhaps what his father said could be put to use here... a smile brightened on him.

"Haha, I just realized something," he paused, "I remember how way back when, when I was a kid, my father always told me that if I was ever lost, just follow the brightest star. The one who took so much strength to shine its best even during the darkest night, because even if it was the wrong path, at least it was beautiful to stare at," with this, he actually made it an effort to turn his body and look at her with that grinning smile.

Serena continued to let her bright gaze shift over the trees as they moved. She noted the pace picking up slightly, but trusted her own mount to do what was right. After all, this was a creature of legends, and he seemed to know how to deal with troublesome situations. She frowned slightly as she thought about how the Pegasus had dealt with meeting the man before her. No, he didn't always know how to deal with them, but at least she had been kept safe. The horse would not let her fall into the wrong hands.

Her gaze seemed to grow brighter and her frown disappeared as she noticed the trees growing farther apart. There were fewer, which meant they were coming to the edge of the forest. Though she was being lead further from that dark aura, she couldn't help but feel sadness pulling at her heart. There was something about this forest that was different, that made her feel welcome, almost at home. The creatures were those inclined to magic, like herself, and so she could relate to them in a way that she was sure she could relate to no other. Ah well, all good things must come to an end.

At the mention of her name, Serena looked up, sapphire gaze fixing on Ziren's back, for he did not turn around. She took no offense by it, for it was likely that he wanted to keep watch. However, something in the back of her mind reminded her that he had also taken great injury, so he may have been incapable of moving to look at her. She focused her attention on him, showing none of her thoughts or emotions on her face. She gave a slightly sad smile, but forced herself to toss aside any doubts or troubled thoughts. "I am sure you are right, it simply feels strange without it, that's all. I feel...weak." She hesitated on the last word, as if reluctant to speak it aloud. Saying it aloud made it final, and thus she let free some of her doubt, though it did nothing to lighten the burden on her.

Heavy hoof after heavy hoof crunched on the forest floor as her steed followed the small horse before them. She was sure that they would reach a town soon enough. As Ziren spoke of his father's words, she couldn't help but sigh. Her eyes shifted up to the sky, to the exact point where once she sat. She wondered if he truly knew what she was, if he knew that she was the star his father told him to follow. A few moments after he glanced back, Serena looked at him. For a brief moment their eyes locked, and she thought her heart had stopped. Such a moment that felt like an eternity, but lasted only a few seconds, then she looked away, blushing deeply. That smile and those words, they seemed to have set something off in her. She couldn't quite look up at him.

Serena's embarrassment was cut short when her mount began to act up. He seemed to become frightened, shying away and trying to turn back. It was as though he were torn in two, knowing that behind lay danger, but acting as though the same lay ahead. Serena placed a hand on his neck, rubbing it gently and speaking soft words into his ears as she tried to calm him. "Hush now, do not be afraid. The danger lay behind, not ahead. The air ahead is clear and light. What has frightened you so?" The horse gave a great neigh, enough to almost shake the ground, and stomped his front hoof in a threatening manner. Serena looked up to Ziren as if pleading, then her gaze became determined. "He will go no further, I am afraid." She spoke as though the horse himself had told her, yet no words had been spoken.

She managed to calm the creature enough that he stopped stomping and neighing. However, he would not budge from his spot. After a great deal of failed coaxing, Serena sighed and looked to Ziren. "I am afraid that he will not take another step further. I will simply have to walk from here." She gave an apologetic smile as she readied to dismount. The Pegasus spread his wings and she slid from his back, landing softly on the ground below. She was shakey for a moment, looking as though she would fall, but placed a sturdy hand on the mount's side to steady herself. She stood still for a moment, unsure if her ankle would carry any weight. She tried to put weight on it, but winced as pain shot through her leg. Her eyes began to dart around, and then widened as she seemed to fall to the ground. However, she landed softly, rumaging through the underbrush until she pulled out a long smooth branch. It was thick, and she used it to push herself up once more. After placing it on the same side as her injured ankle, she began to walk forward, however slowly.

The pounding of hooves and the rush of wind were all that seemed to fill Carmen's ears as she moved swiftly through the forest on her black steed. His ears were back as he galloped, looking terrifying yet thrilled at the hunt that he clearly knew was taking place. Carmen's eyes were wickedly joyful, she knew they were close now. Any second now they would find the crater, and thus the star would fall into her posession. She would, of course, lavish the star and treat it with care and kindness. She knew she would be able to hide her true nature long enough to get the star to its fullest strength and power.

As they ran through the forest, memories of the almost forgotten past floated to the surface of her mind. They were memories over four hundred year prior, when the last star had been knocked from the heavens. The witches had disguised themselves as kind women, simply there to help the young star find its way back home. They had lavished the young woman and treated her with care and kindness, until she was as content as could be. The star had shone so bright in those moments, just before the witches had cut out her heart. Her power had been great, but Carmen craved something even more powerful. Only a truly important star could bring the power she sought.

It had taken years of planning, but finally Carmen had succeeded, and she could almost feel the star's beating heart in her hand, could almost feel the power that would come to her once she devoured the heart. Her steed began to slow and she looked before her, staring through the trees. There, just before her, she could make out the edge of the crater. Her eyes widened with joy as they approached, her black mount slowing until he stopped, right on the edge. With glee and excitement Carmen looked down, then her eyes widened even more, this time with horror and anger.

Gone! The star she had worked so hard to bring down was gone. Anger and rage filled her ever being, and even her cruel mount seemed frightened of her. Her eyes looked as though they darkened, narrowing almost to slits, and her fist clenched about the leather reins. She could only begin to imagine the horrors that would face the one who had taken this powerful creature from her.

She began to look around, using her own powers to seek out the fading traces of the star's power. Carmen knew that the woman's power and bright shine would fade into nothing unless she was kept completely happy. She knew that only when the young woman was truly happy, without stress or doubt, would her power truly show. She couldn't risk the cruelties of society to taint that pure power, for it would likely weaken the star's potency, and thus would do Carmen no good.

Finally she locked on the trail, however faint it was, and she forced her horse in that direction. She kicked her heels into the creatures sides and off they took. She would follow that trail until it ran cold, and then she would tear down everything in her path until she found what she sought.

Captain

Captain Reinhert

Had the Captain not turned to face Serena, he perhaps would of never seen her blush, such a nice sight, and definitely worth the pain, and despite the pain for some reason it made his smile grow wider. Ah such was life. However there was something else attached to the sight before him. As the horse startled and made her get off, if he had not looked around he would of not have noticed the pain she was in when she mounted off her horse.

He was not sure how injured she was to begin with, but now that he saw her having to resort to using a walking stick, it did not bode well with him. Why would royalty have to walk on the ground while he road on his steed? It was simply not right. "Serena, you shouldn't be walking on that foot right now, come join me on Kia," he leaned forward as he could and patted the back of his saddle, of course though he knew she could ride without a saddle due to the Pegasus, but it was definitely more reassuring.
"Kia is a fine mare, she can handle a knight in armor," namely himself, "so you and I should be nothing on her broad shoulders, eh Kia?" She neighed in almost a reply as he stroked her mane.

Luxury of time was not something that he felt they had though, the presence of the dark power rose, he felt it starting to encumber, what direction was it coming from? Wherever it was, it was definitely coming closer. Perhaps Pegasus would go off to fend them more time or something, however he could not count on that. If he was needed to do battle he had to get his body over the pain, or else he'd be nothing more than another saddle on a horse.

So with that in mind, he forced his body to abide by his will and reached out his hand for Serena,
"Please, join me, I won't take no for an answer, or you'll force me to jog along side the horse." He gave a hearty laugh, this time hold no boundaries. Pain trickled against his body, but it was something that he was actually forcing on himself. The more he felt, the more he would get used to it. So as for jogging alongside the horse, he truly meant it as well. That would definitely be one way to get his body going, even if he ended up falling on the ground a few times.

Kia grew nervous, sending a little shake up the saddle, whatever was coming was indeed coming fast, and she sensed it. Her master had stopped her, so that meant one thing, he was waiting for the lady to ride as well. However, there could not be much time to waste, whenever, or if the lady got on, Kia would urge her master to go faster without waste.

Serena looked up to Ziren, staring in silence for a few moments. She had wanted to protest to riding with him, he was in pain and she did not want to put that kind of weight on his horse. However, at the mention of him joggin she simply sighed and shook her head. "I suppose you have left me with no choice, sir." She looked stirn for a moment, as if unhappy at having her decision forced, yet the sparkle in her eye showed she bore no grudge or anger.

She looked to his hand as he offered it, then back up to his face, staring deep into his eyes. She didn't need to be able to read his mind to see that he was in pain. She smiled up at him as she stepped forward, discarding the walking stick as she placed her hands on Kia's back. She hoisted herself with ease, sliding her legs to one side of the saddle. She would have preferred to ride with her legs to either side, but unfortunately her clothing would not allow such riding. Without being able to steady herself with her legs, she was forced to steady herself using Ziren. She placed her hands gently on his shoulder, only for a moment, to make sure she was comfortable and secure. She then dropped her hands away.

She couldn't deny how thankful she was to have the weight off of her sore ankle, but she could not keep happy for long. She felt that darkness fast approaching, and she could tell that Kia felt it too. She knew that with the two of them on one steed, they were no match to outrun whatever approached.

Serena glanced back to look at the Pegasus. He had stayed to see that she was safely on her way. Knowing that she was in good hands, and would soon be on her way, he spread his wings and leapt into the sky. He gave a great neigh as he flew off, heading back the way they had come. Serena knew what he intended to do, he would buy them as much time as he could.

Serena turned her head back and leaned forward slightly to speak into Ziren's ear. "Well, I think that my former mount has gone to see that nothing will follow us, perhaps we should be on our way." She gave a friendly pat to Kia's back, a quick thanks to the creature for taking the extra burden.

Evion nodded. "I agree. We best make our way quickly to Telford." However, the heiress could not help but offer that Majxn rode as well. "Lady Matari. Really. Sire Majxn should ride. He'll tire quickly and something tells me that time is swiftly running short, too short to wait for your companion to run." The young woman gave a smile. "Please, sire. There is no offense meant and as Fox has said, you've been offered a steed that no one will be riding unless you do so. Please. We trust your skills as a trained guard. But you are human, nonetheless..." Ev knew she was treading treacherous waters, seemingly to so coldly insult the man and his abilities, but she truly meant no offense and hoped thoroughly that he could tell that.

Sir's mount began stamping the ground lightly, the air having suddenly became thick and electrified with... Was it anger? No one would be able to tell what went on in the rest of the world. Not until they made it to civilization to hear news. "Come, sire," Sir stated, his voice urging, almost pleading as he felt the danger in the air.

((Uh... Yeah. I'm eluding to the anger of Carmen... So yeah.))
