Me too. I also love newsboy caps. You know, with the jaunty brim and the big poof on top that'll fit all my hair.

kingpinsqeezels It always upset me that men want to shake lady's hands. We aren't one of the guys anyway, you shouldn't want to crush us with your killer grip! I agree, wholeheartedly. I'm fairly sick of having to put my joints back in place after a handshake.

@ Divash: We always called those dread caps! I have one too, but I don't wear it because I don't like having the brim in my face all the time.
@Dis: Oh my gosh, I know! But I did shake hands with a man once who had nice hands. They weren't clamy, and that's nice. 3nodding

Eh, I hate handshaking even if they have nice hands. I think they hate shaking hands with me, too, since I always wear gloves.

Why is that? Do your hands have bad circulation?

I don't like showing skin, I don't like feeling other people's skin (especially strangers') and my joints dislocate with ease. The combination creates my extreme distaste for handshakes, and my wearing of gloves.

I can understand that. Do you just punch people when they try to shake your hand? I've thought about doing that. Then people would be like,"Don't shake her hand. She punches people." 3nodding

No. I just dress in a combination of military uniform, emo, goth, and women's clothing. Then people say "Don't go near him, he's creepy and I think he's a Muslim".

No one will want to shake your hand then 3nodding

Dis Domnu No. I just dress in a combination of military uniform, emo, goth, and women's clothing. Then people say "Don't go near him, he's creepy and I think he's a Muslim". Muslim? Why...? Because you were different clothes? I'm pretty sure they don't wear emo clothes... Sneezing is probably more efficient than punching...

I forgot to mention that I'm the only person on campus who owns a Qur'an, and word of that has spread around pretty fast. So in my area, there's the general assumption that I'm Muslim (although I still get Jewish slurs thrown at me).

It happens...
Look at me, I haven't even converted and people still insult me all the time. I'm referred to as "The Jew" and sometimes "Cathy the Jew". It's annoying, but people will always be stupid!
If it helps, people think I'm Muslim when I cover my hair. 3nodding

I get mistaken for Muslim often in the wintertime. My neck gets cold, so instead of (or in addition to) a cap, snood, or scarf over the back of my hair, I also tie on a pashmina scarf and pin it in what I can only assume is a Muslim style -- to me, it's just the way that's least likely to slip off and expose my neck to the cold.

I'll be wearing a Niqab soon, so I expect the mistakes to continue. I don't really mind, though.

I could never wear a niqab. A tichel is really pushing it for me, but an entire face thing?! More power to you though. It just shows that I like my face a little too much to cover it...*Giggle*
Not that I'm arogant or self absorbed, I'm just proud of it. *Nods*
I cannot wait for winter. I am such a cold weather person, which is weird because our winters are kinda lame.
