*Luana stands on a chair, gesturing in the air with a piece of chalk. Her t-shirt, hands, and jeans all have white and yellow chalk dust on them.*
So if were to adjust- Oh. *lets her arms fall to her sides, then tucks the chalk into her pocket.* Okay. I guess it can wait.

:::K appears seated at a table about 20 feet from the bar. He's trying his best to hide a yawn, but when he opens his eyes he's alarmed to find he's not at the council meeting:::
Uhg! Thank Luca, I was about to die of boredom... :::looking around:::
Luana! surprised

Hey, K! *she smiles at him and jumps off the chair.* It's been a while. How are you doing?

:::He smiles:::
Much better now... :::he corrects himself::: That is, I was just stuck in a really long meeting...nothing but detail after detail on statistical development analysis. Thank goodness for the Brink.

Yeah, really. *she goes behind the bar* There are times when this place pulls you in just when you need to get away. Kind of nice. *grabs a Pepsi* Do you want anything while I'm up?

:::He heads to the bar and goes behind it where she is:::
No please, allow me.
:::Kal takes a look at a few of the wines. He has no idea what he's trying to discern from looking at them, but he trys anyway. He finally picks a red one and pours himself a glass:::
So, the Brink is swell. How has your world been treating you?

*She takes a drink before answering.* We're getting ready for another launch, and I lost the pilot seat for the second time. Other than that, not a whole lot going on.
*She starts to brush off her hands, and then holds them up for K to see.* I was in the middle of a meeting too.
Was it you that I told about Daedalus before?

uhm... :::he looks at her a bit bewildered:::
No, actually. I'm not sure what you're talking about. :::he sips his wine::: But I'm curious now.

My friends and I build flying machines of our own design, and we even get to ride in the larger ones. *Luana smiles and takes a seat at the bar.*
Daedalus 1 was our fist flyer. No engines on it or anything. Just wheels for when it's on the ground. It took a long time to figure out how to build because we wanted it to be able to run without batteries or anything. We launched it off this ramp we built for it, so essentially it can hang glide without any mountains or anything.
The next one, Daedalus 2, gets rockets. *The pride in her voice diminishes when she remembers just who this is that she is talking to.* Of course, by your time's standards the technology's probably more than a little out dated. Still, it's a fun project.

:::he tries his best to sound impressed, he ...sorta is...:::
No no, not at all. That sounds like a great thing to be a part of. Building aircraft with only the limited technology you have available. I'm sure it's a serious task.
:::he sips, thinking about it for a moment::: Then again, they can't be very stable...are you sure its safe?

Are you kidding me? Those are my friends in those things. Half of the reason it takes so long is because we don't want anyone to get hurt. *Takes another drink.* Short of a few minor lab accidents and splinters, we haven't had any injuries.

Well, naturally I'd hate to hear that anyone got hurt. I've heard some pretty upsetting things about technology like that in its developing stages...
Is there a reason you're doing this project? I take it that by your time, aircraft isn't usually built by novices like yourself.

*shrug* Sounded like a fun challenge. I haven't gotten to fly yet, but we'll each get our chance.

:::he thinks about offering her help with building it. He's not really an engineer, but he's guessing that with the advanced technology there, he could show them a thing or two. Then he realizes that maybe Luana would be able to appreciate the technology in his world. After all, he got to see hers... but...::::
Sometime soon Luana, I would like to show you some of the things in my world. But...there are a few things that have to happen before I can bring anyone from the brink over.
:::he sips, deep in thought:::
