That totally sucks....it's so stupid, because FL voted for Obama, but ******** 2 passed!...no gay marriage or ANY kind of civil union for even straight people...how the ******** does that happen?...I guess some of the people for Obama thought McCain was worse but still don't like gay people....but you would THINK people for Obama would be the anit-abortion, etc...and would have voted No...but nuuuu...asses...It's the same for Cali...they went blue yet 8 still passed?? Stupid...the same goes for here, that it BARELY passed...so messed up.....but it was Obama 51% McCain 49%...so...I guess it's understandable...it was SO close in FL..
Some religious groups OUTSIDE of California sent money in to Yes on 8 and they used tactics that prayed on peoples stupidity in order to make them think it was bad. Yeah, that's harsh, but they used excuses like "They'll teach kids gay marraige in school. In Virginia they made kids go see a lesbian wedding!" and then parents forget that they are -required- to sign permission slips before their kids do anything, and they don't teach marriage in schools. >.>
And then, if there were more people from our age group either voting or if some people younger than us COULD vote it probably wouldn't've happened.
Meh...it's pretty much the same here...we're full of old time religious rednecks who hate gays....
