The requirements for "manic" states are EXTREME levels of recklessness and drive, SEVERE irritability, VERY hyper, beliefs that you're invincible or have powers, no inhibitions at all, sometimes hallucinations, very very very up up up up. These periods last for weeks.
and a high level of serotonin in your brain and blood.

Going back to a previous tangent, I would like to remind everyone (we so often forget) that it's not just the U.S. in the middle east.
Coalition soldiers hail from several nations, all of them doing their part (whether for good or ill). The U.S. soldiers are not the only ones risking their lives.
I don't want to get into a discussion of the merits of the occupation of Iraq, I just want to recognize that soldiers the world over (with their own families, children and loved ones) nobly bear arms under their own good flags, not just the stars and stripes. wink
