For a man to do that to a woman is abuse, but for a woman to do that to a man is a sign of power and strength.

People wouldn't laugh or give respect if it was a man doing that; why the double standard?

I was looking up shitty fast food restaurants on Google. Unsurprisingly, McDonald's was mentioned first. Stop going there, people. Christ...

People wouldn't laugh or give respect if it was a man doing that; why the double standard? Because there's always been a difference in perception toward the sexes. And genders, I guess. It's not something that can go away easily, since society first has to learn how to treat different races as nothing more than basic people, and then different sexualities. And it's not something that will ever happen, because there's always the human perception of "you're different from me" that defines the self (and by extension the ego). That can't be removed without the sort of " To right the countless wrongs of our day, we shine this light of true redemption..." cohesive mentality. tl;dr: People like to generalize differences and can't get over them because of the ego.

Elemental Draconis bleu_flame Elemental Draconis Well, I'm trying to take local jobs around my place, considering I'll be walking to work every day. All the jobs in the area that I can get require something of an education. So I'm not sure how to explain mine. That and, I don't think I can get handed a resumé like that. They hand out applications like that, I've seen. Anyway, resumés would tell of my skills and education or previous work.... I have nothing to tell. Except maybe contact information. I'm pretty much pitiful in that aspect. :/
Or maybe I just don't know what I need to know about this. *frustrated/annoyed* Oh, I got them mixed up. xD http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Resume One thing you can add to a resumé that'd look good is volunteer work. That way they know you're a hard enough worker to work without pay, so you'd be a better worker for them to hire with having pay. And like I said before, you could use a bike. Bikes are safer than walking. If you follow all the rules a walker would, you'd get past walkways faster, people can't catch you, and you'd get to work faster. I don't even have volunteer work. D: The closest that would ever be would be helping my family when they ask. And that's not much volunteer as it is obligatory and family. :/ Yeah, I know. But bikes are pricey, and I'm drop-dead broke. And I'm very hesitant riding next to a very busy street. Plus the sidewalks are very broken, and I haven't ridden over broken ground. Also, I think I would get in trouble for keeping a bike in the shared backyard-of-sorts. We got in trouble for my brother's small tricycle years ago. That's lame. D: I'd have thought an apartment complex would encourage the use of bike. xD You could volunteer at an animal shelter. :3 That's what I'm going to start doing eventually. xD I need it for college.

Yeah, it IS lame. -_- We get fined for a bunch of stuff we do or don't do. Best thing: Pretend you don't live there, but you do and keep paying. *looks around* Animal... shelter? All I have nearby that counts for animals is Petco. And, I wish you luck.
