Shoujo Phoenix Zero Omega Only problem I have with it (don't get me wrong, I do listen to a good amount of undergroup rap, and Andre 3000 is probably the only mainstream artist I can sit through. ninja ) is that whole, "Making our kids -violent stuff, sexy stuff, etc." It's the same excuse everyone uses for anything mainstream nowadays to justify what could also be bad parenting. I'm not saying that rap, games, etc can't play a small role in decisions made, but it can't be solely blamed on the medium. Yeah, I agree, Zero. Music, video games, movies...all that doesn't influence people to do anything. I'm saying this having a lot of knowledge about human behavior and social science. There was this one case in the 80s where these two teenage boys were listening to some music by (I forgot what band) but they believed that they were supposed to them go and shoot themselves with a shotgun. The thing people seem to overlook is the factors that led these kids to do those acts. People aren't that stupid and kids aren't that influential. There are exceptions and sure, to an extent, the media means send out different messages, but just because it tells you to do something or behave in a certain way doesn't mean that that person will. People who generally act violent have a liking towards violent video games, violent music, etc. The studies done on this sort of subject are correlational studies as well, so that needs to be taken into account. A doesn't necessarily influence B, or B might not influence A, and there may be a C, D, E, etc. to the equation. I just don't think people look enough into what exactly is causing the behavior and want to blame someone, so they pick out the easiest target. You ******** win, Shouj'. heart
It's exactly how I feel, just never able to put it into words like that. sweatdrop Indeed, it's really just playing a blame game for something that's gone amiss and not taking the personal blame for it, well, such is society no?

It's just a scapegoat for things that are responsible. However, you saying this reminded me of a line from a Jon Stewart Stand-up comedy thing.
Jon Stewart ...Honestly, they blame the problems of the country on all the wrong things. Entertainment, rap music. 'You can't let the kids hear the rap music, 'cuz they'll hear the lyrics and then they'll go out and commit the crimes that they hear in the songs.' What is that? What's the corrolation between lyrics and action? Christ, Julie Andrews sang 'Climb Every Mountain,' I don't go hiking every weekend. It's a ******** song!" xd heart
Jon Stewart is ******** win!

hilaroma For all of you that dl anime, I'd like to recommend the series "Mushishi." I watched a raw episode the other day at Hiro's and it was pretty neat. I'm not sure of the whole plot exactly, but it all seems very interesting. A short summary from Anime News Network They are neither plants nor animals. They differ from other forms of life such as the micro-organisms and the fungi. Instead they resemble the primeval body of life and are generally known as "Mushi". Their existence and appearance are unknown to many and only a limited number of humans are aware of them. Ginko is a "Mushi-shi" who travels around to investigate and find out more about the "Mushi". In the process, he also lends a helping hand to people who face problems with supernatural occurances which may be related to the "Mushi". Sounds interesting, I'd probably check it out if it's been fansubbed.

Zelyhon Shoujo Phoenix Zelyhon Shoujo Phoenix I was thinking of like...going male until I get enough to get another DT just like people wear (or don't wear) something until they finish their quest (for whatever the sentiment is behind it). Then you'd have to get money to change back. Seems like too much effort to me. Just 20k though. That isn't too much. I guess not. I'd still just think that wearing an item or two until you get it would work better. Or, for something even worse, allow the AG to dress your avatar horribly and keep it till you finish. XD Or you could do the cliche, and probably bullshit, "I'm doing this for a friend/lover/etc, so please send all your donations (insert username, probably mule) and help out! heart "

I'm not saying that rap, games, etc can't play a small role in decisions made, but it can't be solely blamed on the medium. What's really funny is that most of the s**t that sig was blaming rap for was also blamed on rock back in the 50s or so... and jazz before that.
Lol, what an indie attitude, to deride one music with arguments that tired and old. rolleyes Indeed, I was just thinking about that, back during Elvis and the other old rockers, they were blamed for all the sex and rebellion, which only furthered in the future with the phrase, "Sex, drugs, and rock n' roll." Hell, a lot of the rock I hear is just as sexual and violent as rap.

Cynder Vending machine here at work just spat out $13.50 for no reason. xd have to be a good samaritan and turn it in gonk They're only gonna use it to get drugs. ninja
That reminds me when I had to call my dad to pick up my brother, his friend, and I after watching, The Chronicles of Narnia, I put 50 cents in the payphone, messed up the dialing and rejected the money to see if I'd get anything, nothing. So I went into the theatre and got change, then used the same payphone. Messed up, again sweatdrop . Clicked for the cash back and got 75 cents. XP Called again, got through, then clicked for cash and got another 75 cents back. xd
