Walked in store, brother bought it, played the s**t out of it, brother traded it in.

That was the lifespan of my Brother's Portal 2.
...How the ******** do you trade in a Steam game?
*Realization strikes*
He bought it for the Xbox. Why in the world would you do that?
Wait. Why the hell would you trade it in when there are clearly other people with you that would like to play it?
He got it as a gift for his birthday. Which he then took my 360 into his room and played it religiously while I was having a life. And he traded it in because he sold his school laptop and then bought a gaming PC. So he traded in all of his 360 games to buy like, 2 PC games. Granted, he broke my 360 twice and it is broken again, I found it dickish of him.
I hope you don't mind my opinion, since he is your family, after all, but that's actually really damn stupid from every possible perspective.
Wait, no, there could be one redeeming quality. How old is he?
It's okay, I have some problems with him. He is 20, no job, no car, no license, no woman, etc.
...How does he live? D:
I'm sorry, I'm judging again. I shouldn't. Forget I said anything.

It actually sounds like a pretty sweet setup if he's happy with it. No worries, no obligations, no stress...

Try downloading from Romania. Their server is downloading at a constant 350 KB/S.
That's a thing I can do? xd
Also: What the s**t, Steam.
I just watched the download rate jump from 185 to zero to 120 to 5 to 150 KB/s in the span of one minute. No wonder this is never going to end.

And it's fine, my mom is like, "oh he is just down on his luck brahrahrb" So when other people think how I do, it's refreshing.

Anyway, going out, be back later.

No man, it's not sweet at all. I'm only appalled because I've done that before, and it isn't fun in the slightest. With that much time on your hands, everything begins to look the same dull and uninteresting shade of grey. It's like the most penultimate boredom you've ever experienced. It's why even though I was refused from every job application this summer because I had a six-week class and I'm going to Ireland in a week, I'm trying to busy myself with learning more about tarot and trying my hand at makin' jewelry with a specific goal in mind.

That's why I said 'if he's happy with it'. I live with very little on my plate day-to-day and I'm happy. The freedom to do whatever I want in every moment is something I wouldn't trade for the world.

I guess to me that sort of freedom feels oddly confining. Couldn't tell you why.

Because not a lot of people who have it choose to exercise it; lots of people just live like Kath's brother and do the same thing, day in day out, without realizing that their lack of 'having' to be places or do things opens the door to a level of spontaneity that people with lives dictated by rigid schedules and social obligations can only dream of. They assume that the limits they set for themselves are all that exist for them, when in reality, they can do anything they want if they just take the initiative to.

Like, my sister could never just decide out of the blue 'hey, I wanna join a band, I think I'll post a zillion ads on the internet and get out there and find one'. Nor could she decide 'hey, I want to go see my stepsister on the other side of town today, I think I'll spend two hours walking there and back just because I can.' She has a life. She has places to be, and people to please. And she envies me, not the other way around.

That's the thing, though. I've never been the sort to take initiative for anything. It's a rarity when I do, and it always turns out to be the best possible choice. But since I never really want anything and am generally content with whatever comes my way, I would just squander my freedom if I didn't try to commit to something. It's rather sad when you think about it like that.
I love to be spontaneous, but it's not something that comes easily to me. I'm slow and stable, not quick and wild. Reminds me of that time I was offered the chance to join in an African tribal dance thing. I almost automatically said no, but I realized there was absolutely no reason to do so and dragged a couple friends in with me. I always have the most fun when I tear down my personal walls like that, but I'm always a little disappointed in myself when I automatically put them back up again.

Deedles. I don't have it connected to my Steam account, so it probably didn't auto-add you.
