At least it's not England cooking at your house (again). He liked caused a fired in the kitchen of the Royal Governor's Tryon Palace.
(Actually he didn't but it's still fun to blame him since it was a kitchen fire)

I did find that info about the Capital again. It wasn't a kitchen fire but it was caused by a pot. Some workers who were making sure the roof didn't leak had a burning pot, they took a break and let the hot pot up on the roof. >w>;
