Shade glances at Leo, then at Frensa. He sighs heavily, then begins. "I knew her before she became that demon. In fact, her becoming Twilight was partly my fault." his eyes glaze over as he stares back through his memory. "We lived in a village on Qualos. I was one of the village guards. We grew up together, and probably would have been married if all this hadn't happened. I had left to go hunting, and when I came back the village was burning. In my absence raiders had attacked. I tried to fight them off, but I was overpowered. They forced me to watch as they killed or changed everyone. Finally, she was the only one left. They placed her in a cage weighted with rocks, and suspended it over the lake tied to a rope. They gave me the rope and told me that if I could hold onto it for one day, they would let us both go. As you can probably guess, I failed."

Xavier nodded slowly in agreement as he lightly twirled the object in his hands. "Indeed, everything will fall apart and collapse someday." he said before glancing at the sleeping Hope again.

"Indeed.." Xavier murmured quietly as he stared at his hands as he thought. "Not like one would want to live in such a world in the first place." he said before brushing some hair away from his face.

Xavier turned his burning gaze back to Dark, staying quiet for a moment before speaking. "Well, no one lives forever." he hinted lightly before smiling and leaning back in his chair and tossing the object in the air, catching it as it fell.

Xavier chuckled lightly at Dark's words. "Careful, just because you haven't died yet doesn't mean that you won't or can't." he said while twirling the object between his hands.

Xavier raised an eyebrow then turned to look at Dark with curious interest. "Oh..? Then tell me, how did you get this way if it wasn't with your consent?" he asked while resting his head on his hand to watch Dark more comfortably.

Dark laughs at Xaviers question. "As I said earlier, there are those who play the world like a game, but come to close to winning. Unlike Twilight, however, I know what will happen if the balance is upset too much. And I've no desire to build another one."

Realization came across Xavier's face as he smiled amusedly. "I see..indeed, she has no regards." he shrugged lightly before twirling a piece of his hair. "But apparently you do. Or at least so you say." he said before brushing his hair away from his face.
