KB took Than's answers at face value, which rarely led him astray. Thanatos had a bad habit of being too forthright, whether he was being witty or not. Not that lying would serve a blind man much use, really. "Now now, Than. There's far too little love in this dark world to hold such an unfair opinion." KB chastised, with a tiny stab at Than's maimed nature. It simply wouldn't be like them to carry a decent conversation with one another, without at least some meaningless quips.

KB considered referencing Than's mother on the second point, but instead let it go. "Just another bird." He lamented, glancing about before drawing up a chair. He'd seat himself casually, allowing for his cold appearance to seemingly melt, along with his posture. Slouching into the seat, he reclined lazily. "How is it in the Citadel, anyway? Was really shiny last time I was there. You still packing those crazy tattoos? They activate some sort of giant robot or something Mastema cooked up?" Crazy assumptions yes, but none too insane that Mastema wouldn't apply them.

"There's more than enough love to go around, but I'm not sure anyone can see it. I wasn't expecting much of a happy reunion in coming here, but I didn't think everyone's soul had gone off and died in the last couple years." Than tossed his cup and reached for another drink, this time just plain water. It seemed this KB had a few more neural connections intact than his drunken clone. "Or then again maybe I'm just lost on what love is in comparison to what everyone else here thinks. I haven't really given it much thought."

"It's fine. The end of the world plan is in motion, and hopefully the whole thing will be ready to go next week and all miserable existence will end. Look for a bulletin sometime this weekend." As usual, his voice was dry and aloof. "The tattoo? I think there's a difference between a scar and a tattoo, but yeah it's there. Considering shaving off that layer of skin and seeing how much skin art goes for on the black market. Might decorate some vampire's house nicely."

"For a week," KB replied dryly, reaching over to snag the nearest source of water only moments before Than'd have the chance. Having sight, and all that, KB would pour himself a glass before extending the same courtesy to his companion. "not that a week is a very long time." KB finished, shrugging slightly. Some might rant about the individual perspective of time, but KB truly saw a week as a very, very short time.

"Ever thought about having a girlfriend for a day?" KB asked, peering into the crowd. He noticed that Kaiori was absent, again showing slight signs of disappointment. If 'existence' was really going to end, the least Kai could do was give KB a backrub, or maybe give Than another peck on the cheek. Goodbye present and all that, or so thought the vaguely sentimental KB. Chances are a week wouldn't be long enough for KB to maraud through the Citadel, molest a few minors, experiment on their mother, and enact the love for their father.

Sucky, but KB really seemed as nonchalant as usual.

Odds were that Galette had quite a few documents indeed, seeing how many 'students' he'd had before his unexpected second demise. Naturally, Twi didn't believe Gabriel really had much interest in most of the documents. The man was probably interested in anything that tied him to Galette. Twi nodded, smiling right back at the Count. "Excellent. I'm in your debt. I'll be sure to have my people on standby to come when I'm ready to leave. I think I have the perfect candidate in mind too." At least his primary objective in being here was now accomplished. Of course, maybe he'd still have a chance at his secondary one, but it wasn't as important.

"Ah, excellent. I do hope you can relax and enjoy yourself then, now that 'business' is concluded." A simple reply from The Count. His 'people' could get to work gathering up the papers, that were no doubt already stored somewhere. Cleaning the place up earlier on would have demanded it be done anyhow. Rest assured all would be ready upon Twilight's departure. At that point his candidate could go about his or her work. Twilight should have been careful with whom he applied his debts to though, for some unfortunate day, one he owned a debt to might call upon him.

Griffin seemed utterly bored while Bell looked no better. She had long lost the excitement she held for the party, if you could call this a party, it seemed more like a subtle business meeting. Grumbling she shifts in her dress, she couldn’t escape these business men and their double agendas. Griffin just seems happy that no one is approaching his sister.

Tegral's reentering of the party was as non-exclaimed as KB's was, although he gave the doorman a courteous nod of the head before quietly bidding him to retain his previous stance. With his suit looking as though it was freshly pressed, with none of the indications that he'd just flown several hundred miles to link up with one of his ranking officers to discuss something of mild importance. Why he didn't just use a direct com link was fairly simple...KB, that b*****d had tech to match his own, and the Admiral wasn't in any hurry to let the sick monster in on anything he may be up too - militaristic or not. With blackened shoes that shone like polished mirrors the good Admiral strode into the 'party' once more with a strange smile playing on his lips. Something about his face seemed...alive - an impossibility considering the fact he was well and truly an artificial being - but all the same his eyes held a fire of life that was impossible to replicate. Slick black silk glimmered in the party's illumination, imported from Azarabian - a planet inhabited by giant worms who used a series of mirrors and lasers to build almost anything beneath the planet's harsh surface - and woven into the exquisite form of the black dress jacket and pants he had chosen for the shin-dig.

Eyes scanning over the crowd - not really a crowd but still! Sapphire blue and as beautiful as the gem they put to shame the Admiral had a pair of eyes in his head that seemed to see more than what they actually did, maybe his scanners were kicked up to combat level or maybe it was a deeper and more philosophical sight. His blond hair, still a chaotic mess that only added to his handsome figure, fell in a curtain of polished gold across his blue eyes, yet it impaired him none. Why had he returned? What did he desire in this location? Only time would tell.

"You're actually taking what I'm saying seriously," Than stated, not questioning. "It's a much greater amount of time if you forego the need to sleep." Thanatos had his own water soon enough and started drinking. He momentarily pondered the question of why KB wasn't bothering to ask these questions to his own children, knowing he could make them when he pleased. "No suitable candidates," was his only reply to KB's inquiries of his romantic interest. It wasn't that Than had anything against any of the women in the BC; it was simply they were too damn unstable for his interest in a lot of cases. Reminding himself of this, Thanatos began to realize every problem the BC had ever faced might have been prevented if a person had put an asylum in the region before all the nutcases moved in. "Oh, and I think your would be second in command just came back."

"That's why I have this job. I'm relaxing constantly." Twi never really had to do any heavy assignments. A fight here and there was about it. Otherwise he could do whatever he pleased and go where he wanted. It was much more nomadic in nature than any position he held at the BC, but then again the BC didn't so much exist anymore, and he didn't have any quarrels sticking with his current position. As for debts, Twi didn't consider himself a man to earn an honest living. He would only do favors that suited him.

"Keen eye, for a blind kid." KB teased, before shrugging to himself. The arrival of the rather... American man, hardly bothered KB. The pair had an understanding of sorts, one which amused KB greatly. Of course, Nana would likely shy away from KB for the remainder of the party, due to the good admiral's silver tongue. Of course, as stated, the admiral was a worry for another time. In the meantime, KB rolled around the notion of no suitable candidates. He was almost surprised Mastema hadn't endeavored to make Than a clone of Kaiori, or an incarnation, at the very least out of curiosity as to how Than would 'handle' a girl. Blind and blunt, physically and emotionally watching the boy's blunders would be a great form of world-end entertainment.

This really brought KB back to the source of his interest. "Eh... You and I should hook up some time. You know, end of the world toast. No guns, I promise." KB offered. Though his choice of wording implied a sexual encounter, most who knew KB in one way or another assumed his every reference to have some sort of sexual meaning, and as such the invitation would likely be perceived as simply... KB's bad way of saying some things.

*With most of the party goers gone, the tension was lifted if only a slight bit. Kaiori's children appeared to be alone, as twins could be when together. Perhaps now was a good time to try talking to them, before someone else took up her chance. Looking back to Mastema, Nana would smile lightly, and snuggle him ever so lightly, before taking a step back and addressing him*

^__^

I think I'm going to try and talk to a few more people. You'll be fine on your own I imagine?

If KB was surprised at Mastema's lack of prodding at Than's old fondness of Kaiori, then he clearly overestimated how interested Mastema could get in trivial matters as far as he was concerned. "You couldn't afford my interest right now." Thanatos put KB's offer to rest with a simple and, as KB described to himself, forthright sentence. Thanatos just wasn't interested in KB's trivialities, and it was only the party atmosphere that made him bearable in the first place.

Mastema released Nana willingly and shook his head and hand impassively. "Go right ahead. I shall try not to miss you too greatly while you're away,' he said, passing it as if Nana were going on a much longer trip when it was really only a few meters away.

^//^

I shant be too long dear.

*With that, Nana would slip away in the general direction of both Bell and Griffin. Again, Griffin might have some memory of Nana from his mother's memories, but this would be their first actual time meeting. Nana was a nice enough person, hopefully they would see that. Mastema may have been her husband but she and their mother didn't really have a negative past. A fleet meeting, a passing moment and little more. Approching the pair, Nana nod to the both lightly, then greet them*

H-hello.

Bell looks up calmly and smiles, grateful for some company other than her sullen brother. “Hello! Would you like to take a turn about the room?” It was a simple request that one lady often asked another to insure privacy or in Bell’s case, a decent conversation without a looming certain someone. Griffin, taking the hint would simply nod his head to Nana and wander off to the far corner of the room. There was a hint of recognition in his eyes.

o.o

Ah-- a turn? A walk?

*Well, it either meant a walk, or a dance. If it was the latter of the two, Nana would be at a loss. Women didn't often ask other women to dance, in her time. But a walk might be nice, perhaps Nana could get a bit of air and could clear her head. It would be nice to have someone to talk to other than family or loved ones, that feeling was radiated by both, much like Nana and Phi in their love of books. Perhaps the two could find something in common*

Surely.

Tegral Kartos stood at eased attention, hands clasped lazily behind his back, scanning the room. KB and Thanatos had taken notice, that much was fairly obvious since Thanatos was a sniffling little wretch who couldn't resist picking a fight and KB was just KB. Nana had just departed from her beloved husband's company, an act that made the cybernetic admiral half tempted to resume a conversation with the man, and was beginning what would likely be a lovely chat with Bell while while the twin's other half sought solitude. Another target of conversation, but a futile effort it would be. He'd already said his peace to the Royal Family, before the mutinous actions of KB had driven the whole thing sour in the Admiral's eyes, and really needed no further excuse to speak with the man. Had Kaiori been around Tegral might have tried his hand at seducing the woman and drawing her husband out in a stand up brawl, just to kill him, but alas she had departed some time ago it seemed.

In his absence it had seemed several members had come and gone, some he knew and others he didn't. Sairys was gone, likely whisked away by that wretched Xol - who's lingering residue was all over the place - for a good romp through the bed sheets. He spotted Twilight over yonder, an imbecile of a man, with another he didn't recognize. Maybe he might save the new comer the mental trauma of being in close contact with that idiot for so long, he paused in wonder at who the man was - having not been around for the Count's entrance. Oh well, no matters, he'd just enjoy the party then.

After a few minutes had passed, a waiter would wander up to The Count and whisper something in his ear. The Count would nod, then wave the waiter away, turning back to Twilight. "Ah, it would appear that my staff was quicker than I had anticipated. The papers you require have been bundled up, and will be waiting for you upon departure. Is that satisfactory?" A simple question for Twilight to answer. At the same time in the background, it looked as if more waiters were running about, they were transporting something outside but it did not look like the papers, it was something else. Something with a cylinder shape, and a large tarp, and-- sand bags. How curious.
