Theluji hadn't been bothered when Maji wandered off, being absorbed in the painting, picking out the shape that could be the deer from the story. But after a few moments, Maji hadn't returned and the cave drawing, like anything else, exhausted her short attention span. With a constant need to busy herself she inspected a snowy paw, found it clean, and decided to wash it anyway. That lost it's charm after a bit of good licking and the female resigned herself to the painting once more. It hadn't changed. She reared up on her hind legs, planting her furry white paws just under the picture, her nose inches away, and squinted her eyes, scrutenizing it. Yep. The deer was still there.
She heard pawsteps approaching from behind and figuring Maji was returning alone, she opened her mouth to say something, turning her head to address him. But the sound hitched in her throat as she saw the newcomer, turning into a 'Prr?' of question as her ears tilted back. The new female was colored similarly to Maji and Theluji felt mildly disappointed that she herself had no interesting markings on her coat, feeling the odd one out. Maji was saying something about alleged friends? But Theluji had never seen this female before. Her ears fanned out, questioning both Maji and Ciyari.

A soft sigh drifted from Mizaku's mouth as he lifted his head off the tree branch. His view moved over the field behind the branch he was sitting on, and his tail brushed lightly through the air. With on swift motion, he leapt from the branch and landed with a gentle tumble on the ground. His tan-ish fur blended perfectly with the golden grass, and he crouched down with a playful purr. The leopards eyes followed a grasshopper as it crawled up to the top of a blade. With a tiny hiss he jumped forwards and batted it with his forepaws.
"Gotcha!" Mizaku called, a proud smirk on his face. It faded quickly, his eyes darting to stare into the emptiness of the land. A depressed look etched itself across his face as he started thinking about his friends. Where were they? ...Would he ever see them again? Were they okay... or hurt? What if they were starving?! Or maybe they were being chased by a hyena!! He shuddered and lowered his head between his shoulders. "I'm a rotten friend..." he muttered to himself, dropping on the ground and rolling over on his back, "I hope they're safe." He put his paws over his eyes and let out a deep, regretful sigh.

Not catching a sent of a lion nearby a gazelle loped out into the open feild. Bending her elegant head to the ground she began to graze. Grounding and crunching the tender grass around in her mouth she lifted her head and surveyed the land, the grass plain went on for miles as far as the eye could see. Bending her head back down to graze she noted that the wind changed and the scent of leopard came to her nostrills. Feeling a sence of panic rise up in her body, she quickly looked up and peered around finding a leopard in the far distance. Seeing that there was no danger at the moment she went back to grazing...

Mizaku had noticed the gazelle's scent as well. He lifted his paws off his face, swinging up and standing to his feet. He examined the grassland, watching the tall blades swish back and forth in the breeze. The gazelle's slender form caught his eye, and he smiled briefly. The leopard crouched, hopping quietly into the grass and stepping in the direction he thought the Gazelle was standing. Mizaku's tail slid behind him on the dirt, brushing dust every few seconds. His color blended and made him nearly unnoticeable in the golden, waving grass.

Looking up from her grazing, she smelt the air, but the winds had shifted agian and she caught no scent. Bending her head back down to graze her ears detected a sound she they turned. Feeling that feeling of panic rise in her chest once more, her body tensed and she lifted her head and to scan the feild. Feeling uncomfortable she shifted positions so that she could smell the wind better. Taking in a breath of air the scent of leopard came her nostrils...

Mizaku ducked as low as he could, hoping the gazelle wouldn't see him. He didn't think he'd be able to bring it down... but he'd have to try. His eyes didn't blink, they stayed focused on the preybeast. He began his approach, creeping as slowly and quietly he could. A hint of doubt began to raise over him, but he quickly shook it away.
The tan-ish leapord stalked through the tall grass until he was about 30 feet away. The gazelle looked as if it had spotted him, and he stayed perfectly still, not even his tail moved. Right before he ran to take his chances with the animal, he screwed it all up by tripping as he jumped out of his cover. Mizaku tumbled sideways, but quickly sprang to his feet. He growled under his breath and bounded at the gazelle, mouth open and claws extended.

Where'd I come from? Who.... Who am I? How did I get here.....? ::These were the questions passing through his mind as he lay upon the ground, next to the water..... One paw resting within the cool liquid, twirling about and tracing random patterns.. His eyes gazed at the ripples his movements created. His mind was slowly begining to drift away and he became lost in his thoughts...:: "Guess it doesn't matter..." ::Hodari emitted a sigh, slowly rising to sit up.. The images of that drawing the 'Mistweaver' cub had drawn stuck in his mind. It sent chills through him..... All the things that Maji had said. The paintings on the wall.. The colors of their coats... Could it possibly be? Could he truely be from this area? But, why didn't he remember any of it? Why was his memory nothing more than shattered peices?::
::Quickly, the youth shook his head, dunking his head into the water, his paws following it.. He began to squirm about until he fell in..:: :: Once swimming, Hodari began his search for those fish he had promised to find. All the while his thoughts bolting in and out of his brain, causing him to claw at the shore and growl...:: ::He swam for a short while longer before he climbed out of the water, shaking droplets from his greyish colored coat...::"Stupid fish..." ::He grumbled, slashing at the ground... He had not managed to catch even a single fish....::

"Yeah!" The lioness cub deftly thwacked the fish over the head with a large paw and then grabbed it in her mouth, humming slightly to herself. As she shook herself vigourously and settled down happily to tear the meat off her prize, the humming drifted up, lost in the thundering of the waterfall pool she lay beside. An outside observer would have guessed this robust girl-cub to be older than she actually was; she was pretty big-boned, not a scrawny runt and obviously not been feeding herself on rodents and bugs. Her fur was a lustrous pearly grey and white that contrasted sharply with the bright gold of her eyes, now concentrating intensely on the meal. Her white muzzle became a little stained from the fish, but as soon as she had finished extracting as much meat as possible, she rose and trotted over to dunk her head in the clear pool, drinking a little at the same time and then throwing her head up in a rainbow spray of droplets. The humming resumed as she stretched herself out languidly under the shade of the drooping tree perched precariously on the edge of the pool. Kinyamkela was totally at ease, her damp fur staying thus in the humidity, a faint breeze ruffling her fur.

In an instant a leopard was on the gazelle. Her instincts kicked and in it back fight or flight, but with a leopard as her opponent she felt she was on the looseing end and decided to try and run. Turning on her heals she looked around for the best way to escape, but the leopard was on her and she knew had lost the oppertunity to run. Struggling to escape her elegant legs lost their balance and she stumbled to her knees...

He turned to look over his shoulder, waiting for the "queen" and her friend to come up after him. Surely the climb wasn't too hard for them, if it was he could always show them another way up but that way took a very long time- it was a maze of winding caves, paths, corridors, and all that mess. Usually at a walk it would take him at least an hour to reach this point. He assumed that the queen was waiting for her friend or trying to find her way up. It was good manners to address his guest though, he felt it indecent to have left her alone in this cave for any length of time. He turned to her, seating himself on his haunches and lifting his ears up to further grace the pleasant smile on his face, "Aren't the queen and squire your friends? You all arrived here at nearly the same time, if I'm mistaken I'm terribly sorry."

Mizaku's claws dug into the gazelle's skin, his ghostly eyes seeming to pierce like daggers. A dangerous hiss echoed out of his mouth as he felt the drop of the gazelle. He almost lost balance as well, but hung on with his razor-like claws.
The leopard felt blood around his mouth... it tasted good... and he began to get hungrier and more desperate. Even though he was just a cub, he didn't feel subordinate to the gazelle at all. He had confidence in himself, almost too much confidence... Mizaku tried to jump to the gazelle's neck, but her couldn't stabilize himself after the leap, and slid half way of the prey's back. He was now hanging on her left side, his claws digging further in an attempt to stay on her. The leopard's familiar battle cry rose above his hissing, letting out a loud cub-ish yet determined roar.

Maji could hear a shrill roar from not too far off. By the sound of it, whatever had made the sound was very young indeed. Not the roar of anything he wasn't used to. Spotted-cats or "leopards" as they liked to call themselves were common to this area. He'd only had the pleasure of meeting one of them and from that one he could assume that they were all pretty decent creatures. Though... they did feed on the animals tha the considered to be his friends. That wasn't something that he was too fond of but he knew that any proper lion ate those things as well. The writings on the wall depicted that clearly enough. He just couldn't bring himself to be so barbaric... those creatures had practally raised him, they had given him company in this land and he'd not murder them- even if it meant starvation. He was content enough with fish during the season of plenty and bugs during the season of little.
Still he waited patiantly for a reponse from either her majisty or the white female, never looking at bit impatiant for either of them.

'Kela's large ears perked up as she heard far-off noises, which faded away. However, it roused her from her lethargy, and she hauled herself to her feet. "No time for lying around," she said briskly to herself. Bouncing up to the edge of the water, she contemplated fishing again, before an idea struck her.The waterfall flowed downstream... and the fish must get washed down from higher above. Perhaps there were even bigger if she weent upstream! The cub, though large for her age, still had the same young reasoning, and on this notion she started trotting around the side to try and find a way to forge on upwards.
An hour or so later, panting heavily, Kinyamkela flopped down at the base of a new waterfall. There were so many! And she was paying for travelling in even the relative heat of the afternoon. Haulingher weary legs to the edge of the pool, she did the quick check for danger before taking long draughts of the clear water. A satisfied smile crept across her face, and she was about to return to some shade when the waterfall caught her eye once more. Was there a dark space behind it? Some sort of opening? A vague tug seemed to pull at her, and she slowly padded towards it, uncertain of why she was doing so.

Maji caught the scent of another coming close to his home. Lords above it must have been his lucky day in meeting people. Of course he reminded himself that everything wasn't all good and this new thing could very well be a threat to him and his friends. Whichever it was he'd welcome it with open paws- but open eyes as well. "Begging your pardon just once more. I think we might have another guest." He bowed his head to the white female and padded back towards the mouth of the cave. The "squire" was still in the distance fishing and her majisty seemed to be watching him for now. Gracefully and carefully he scaled down the side of the rock's face that lead from the cave to the ground. He paused before her highness and bowed himself again, "I will return in a short while. Feel free to enter my cave, I shall return in just a few moments, my lady."
With that he walked towards the stranger, looking her over. Of course he never seemed unpleasent in anything that he did. His eyes sparkled and his lips were always pulled back in a graceful smile.
