"Plu...?" he murmured, looking confused. "No, I'm afraid I don't..." He shook his head softly, in answer to both questions. "And... I don't know very much about butterflies. I... my father was always very fond of anything that flew," he said softly, eyes saddening. He had, over the years, begun to call that man 'father' whenever he was asked about him. "He knew all the birds and butterflies and... everything. He actually talked to them more than he did to me," he murmured with a bit of a shrug, eyes looking a little sad. He supposed he had been too much of a... disapointment for his master to be able to face him fully. "But... they're beautiful, aren't they?" Beautiful... that was what... people called him. Was that was he was? Just something pretty to be looked at? The rose, indeed... "But Father was never able to fly himself... I suppose it is best never acheive your heart's desire, because then you have something to reach for... always some reason to be." He said those words, but he didn't beleive them. It was obvious in his eyes and his expression. He had... something he desired. But how could he possibly reach it?
((Sorrrrry. >< Rosy angstangst. I luff him sooooo much.... ;3; ))
Muertian was bewildered by the 'lady's' sudden state of solemnity. The prince was not used to things of a angsty-state. He preferred not to deal with such things in his own life, though they persisted in following him whereever he went, and now-- here he was being confronted with a pretty dressmaker with an issue that was obviously not of light-hearted humour.

"If you don't care much for your father, Rosaline, just say it," he shrugged casually before he wandered to the center of the garden and plopped down on a cushioned bench. It was a curiously sunny day for the Kingdom of Death. Most of the time, it was at least partly cloudy. Continuing with his carefree attitude, he leaned back in the bench and stared up at the pink-haired beauty. "Here-- I don't like my father very much at all. We don't get along remotely, unless it's entirely dictated by his terms or it includes the words 'festival gathering' or 'Fary-less' in his sentence. Okay?" He tossed his head to the side before bringing it back.

"Do you actually believe all that namby-pamby heart's desire business? You can't possibly think you don't deserve to be happy!" he exclaimed with incredulity.

"And what is that?" he asked, intrigued and curious. He stirred his tea a bit with his spoon* before taking another sip and setting the cup delicately down on the table.

((*Erm... I don't know a lot about tea, other than lessons in like... third grade. I_I Don't they use a tea stirrer or soemthing? But it sounded retarded to actually say that...))
[[haha. A teaspoon, perhaps? ]]

Treza stirred in a lump of sugar in her own tea and watched the sweet crystals gradually dissolve with mild interest. She then looked back up at Jillian and dropped her voice. "You can't tell anyone. It's a secret!" she whispered, "Promise?"

He smiled slightly in spite of himself - the other was obviously trying to cheer him up and the gesture was appriciated. "Hmm... well, it's not exactly dislike," he said thoughtfully, comming over to join the other on the bench, gentlypulling hi hair over one shoulder before he has down - it was braided and reached past his waiste and it was exceeding painful if he ever forgot and sat on it. He ran several fingers through silky strands before continuing, "I's more like... I always felt useless. I was nothing more than a disapointment to him... But I suppose that shouldn't matter any more. He died... years ago."

"As a matter of fact, I don't beleive it. But not attaining a goal doesn't mean you're not happy... Haven't you ever heard the story of the old man and his cherry blossom tree? He took care of a tree with tender love for ten years, but it never once flowered. One day, it finally flowered and it was the most beautiful thing he ever saw. But he died the next day. Apparently it's because his heart's desire was fulfilled and he had nothing left to live for..." he murmured, smile in place on his lips as he moved his finger around in a circle to illistrate the end. "Besides... it's a little scary.. or, at least, I think it is... To be able to acheive th one thing you desire... It could change your life for ever, or... end it. I... have a wish, but... it isn't something I can do."

He blinked slightly and smiled appologetically. "I'm sorry... I must be boring you..." He flushed slightly, eyes downcast as he couldn't meet the other's gaze, hands moving to cover his mouth in appolegetic embarrasment. "I've never really talked about this before... and here I am, troubling someone I barely know."

((Let's hope so. <3 Sayael may just turn out into the b*****d I originally intended him to be. =3 ))
He looked back to see the other clamber much more carefully onto his horse and did the same - although quite differently, using that same sort of... leap that made the transfer from ground to back of hoarse look completely effortless, despite how long it took to learn. "Right, then, let's ride onward, Ellian. Hmm... by the way, what's my name?" he asked, acting as if nothing had happened.

(-laff- Oh dear)

Dax blinked slowly, not taking that much wanted glance over toward Sayael. It was almost like before when they first met. One moment they were arguing and in the next, everything seemed fine. At least to the other boy. The blonde, however, had to pause before answering, allowing himself time to erase the sour look on his face. Was it going to be like this during the whole trip? He doubted it. Once they got over the troubles of having to disguise themselves, they should be fine. "How about.. Oswald."
PostPosted: Sun Jul 30, 2006 8:48 am

"Oswald?" he scoffed, incredulous. "Have you ever been among regular people - no, well, I suppose you really haven't. Well, anyway... that... that name isn't exactly common. It'll make me sound like a buttler or something, but, since you vetoed the bald patch, I can't really pull that look off..." It seemed the other was trying to adjust to Sayael's... nature. He had always been that way - go way too far into something and then ignore it completely. It was almost a... game.

"Aw. And you'd make such a good butler. Wouldn't that be fun? You could be my personal butler and tend to my every need," he said before falling back into thought. If he were to voice his every need -which, in reality, wouldn't be anything in actual necessity- then Sayael would probably be working a 24/7 job. Despite his sometimes quiet nature, he still had that spoiled brat boiling deep inside him. "Alright.. How about Lucian?"
PostPosted: Sun Jul 30, 2006 9:31 am

"That's more like it!" he said, recovering his borad grin. "And, by the way, there's no way I'm going to be your buttler." He shook his head slightly for imfasis, the charm - which had, apparently, remained - tinkling slightly as he did.

That was one of several times Dax's eyes were drawn to the charm in the boy's now black hair. A cute decoration, he thought. Such a simple thing shouldn't be noticed by anyone looking for them. "Well, I'm glad you approve," he said, giving his horse an awkward nudge with his heel to get her moving. When she started forward, he tightened his grip on the reigns and faltered slightly in his seat. A light sigh was released when he regained his balance. "Come on, Lucy-kinz. You can be a husband and a butler at the same time."
PostPosted: Sun Jul 30, 2006 11:39 am

"Lucy-kins?" he asked incredulously. He shook his head, again sending off the tinkling sounds caused by the small charm, and sighed. "Just so long as I don't become Lucy." Isfahel started forward and they were soon riding on towards the city.

It took a considerably short time for them to reach the outskirts of the city, and even these parts were crouded. "Hmm... quite noisy, don't you think, Ellian?" he murmured as several men jostled by through the busy intersection, chasing what appeared to be an ice-breathing chicken. Sayael's eyes followed their progress, not quite sure what to make of it.

At first, Dax made no reponse to Sayael. He still wasn't used to the new name, especially a female one. "Huh?" he muttered as his own gaze drifted into the throngs of people whne the chicken was out of his sight. "Oh! Um.. Yes, rather noisy for my taste." He was sure to take his tone up a couple octaves, making him sound much more feminine. While always keeping a straight-backed posture, he arched his back a bit more and crossed his ankles.

"Are there any supplies we need to pick up?" he asked, taking his own horse as close as he dared to Isfahel.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 30, 2006 12:21 pm

"Hmmm..." he murmured thoughtfully. "I think we should pick up some food while we're here. I packed travel food - dried food, for the most part - so we should get fresh while he can. I have money and things to barter... After all, I work making rugs, so, while we're traveling, I might as well sell a few," he said, giving the other a mischevious wink. He did make rugs... but not conventionally. It was mostly magic plus a bit of what he had learned from rug makers who passed through the palace.

Treza smiled widely. "I love to talk to my mother! It's my favorite thing in the world. Daddy doesn't know though... that's why it's secret," she informed him excitedly in a hushed tone.

[[Well, that's my last post until this friday. I can't really explain-- I have to go. I'll be at a camp all week. There. I explained sweatdrop ... just take your time getting to that sea village, yes? Or work around Faryn. Whatever works. sorry bout the short notice. <3. ]]

Jillian knew the girl's mother was dead. So then one of her powers was to communicate with spirits...? That would make sense, as her lineage was of Death, but it was surprising all the same. "And what does your mother say?" he asked curiously.

"Oh, darling.. You know how much your work excites me," Dax said in a tone of sarcastic enthusiasm. Rug making.. He couldn't think of anything that sounded more boring than that. Then again, they were supposed to be common folk. While Jacqueline picked her way carefully around the townsfolk, the disguised blonde tried not to make eyecontact with any of the people. "Well, don't think you'll be shopping without me. I have to make sure you get things that are actually good."
